Overall great game! The music is bumping and the art is cute! The only issue I encountered was pressing spacebar breaks the game.

Overall great game! The music is bumping and the art is cute! The only issue I encountered was pressing spacebar breaks the game.
Gostei muito do game tem muito estilo a protagonista e carismática junto a escoteira da loja, vou esperar próximas atualizações para mais. Ps.: "passei devendo a rodo"xD
Really cute and solid art!
Man this art is so cute! I love it!
One of the most polished games I've found in this game jam. Graphics, perfect. Gameplay, superb. Music (not a category y'all applied for but you guys really should have unless it isn't original) fit perfectly. Literally the best game I've played so far. Some typos here and there but it didn't detract from the experience what so ever. I really hope y'all win. Keep up the good work
Nice visuals but you already knew that!
Looks and sounds great!
Really cool game! It crashed for me after a few floors, but I was able to get an upgraded grenade launcher and explode those foul demons. The waves did seem a little long and repetitive when it's the same enemies, but I did like your use of lasers and things to force the player to move around. Awesome graphics and a cute story, loved it!
Wow! The art and music in this game is amazing! I would have kept playing but my game stopped working after the level with the green bats. Very good entry!
Nice art, music and humour ! :D well played !
I like the art! Especially the smoke poof on the enemies, that was very satisfying. The shooting part became fairly easy once I upgraded the machine gun enough, I was able to just strafe back and forth and take out all the creatures without any danger. That might have changed in later stages, but the game got stuck for me. At first, it failed to load a couple times for me, and hung after a few stages with '[SW] Error fetching 'v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/4568119/' (403 )' which seems to be related to Construct. I'm not sure what could be done about that, but wanted to give you a heads up. Anyway this is an awesome entry for ludum, and doubly so for a first game. Y'all did awesome, thank you for sharing your game!
Solid artwork and amazing music. It is really fun to play
though there are some minor bugs, like, sometimes the next message button dissapears
I cant seem to get your browser build past the loading screen
The art in the game, as well as the cover art are very good. The game however did not load the first few attempts, might be the same problem @hwaet described.
The game looks great, and its fun to play!
Really fun game! The story and art are both really cute, it's a very well presented game.
Very good quality graphics; nice, somewhat consistent style and look. The only concerns I have is that the game takes like 2 minutes to load, and the shooting felt slow and low energy, too slow paced. Other than that, the idea for the game was quite good and kept me playing for a bit. Great artwork and good luck in judging!
Very nice looking game and it was pretty fun too. I didn't get very far though.
great game really gets you playing good job
The characters are so, so cute! This has a lot of potential as a mobile game :)
One thing that slightly bothered me was the "⏩" button to advance the story, it could've be mistaken with "Fast-Forward". Maybe just a single "▶" would be fine.
This is a very tall building indeed. I couldn't get the webapp to work but the download was fine. The art was very good and the story was cute. Being able to only go left and right (and shoot) felt a bit restricting reasonably quickly.
Great job, fun game! I like how you got 'unstable' into it aswell XD.
Graphically, this is the best game I played in LD49 yet (its wonderful). I realy like your idea of implement upgrades and the mechanics. About the story, I'll give you a 5/5 in Humor XD. You realy made a great game, It's one of the bests for me. Congrats!
Good game. The art style really shines. Would do great as a mobile title what it clearly was intended for. What I don't understand is why this is 240mb in size. Hopefully the mobile builds are smaller.
couldn't play the game but nice art!
The art wowed me from the start, and the overall polish was very surprising!
- Loading time was really slow, but refreshing it a few times worked well! - The sensitivity of the movement was a little high, and reducing it could be interesting! - Cutest merchant ever! Avatars being animated was such a nice touch! - UI/X elements could be clearer - the skip/continue buttons were essentially confusing - Loved the rogue-light elements, and using the flamethrower was very satisfying! - Typos, but it's an easy fix for you guys for sure!
Am glad I got to enjoy this, thanks for sharing! Let me know if I can help out again whenever. ^^
It remind me the era of flash game. I enjoyed it :)
Could've used some extra juice, but really quite solid! I somehow managed to buy all the flamethrower tiers while only having enough money for one, not sure what happened there, but I sure did end up thousands of coins in debt.
Really fun entry, loved the flash game vibes that the upgrades give. The only criticism that I can think of is that, besides the graphics, there's little connection to the jam's theme. Well done!
I think this is the best game that I've played this LD so far. Congrats! really beautiful art, good music and sound effects. Really fun!
Really well polished game for a 72 hour project, good work! Pretty solid game loop with fun dialog scenes, great graphics and some fun power ups. The red 3-eyed squid monster was my favourite enemy :)
Cute as heck and really polished! the music is the best I've heard yet. Everything was cohesive and nothing felt out of place. Really nicely done.
Cool game. The dialog sections seem incredibly polished (though I personally would like the animations to be a little faster) and the monsters look great. Deciding when to use your grenades and flamethrower is fun but shooting the machine gun could be a bit more juicy. The amount of content that you have is really impressive especially looking at the upgrades. It seems weird to have the narrated section end before you can even see all of the upgrades... especially if they are a chiba and a panda. I quite enjoyed the music as well.
Great job!
Nice art, good job
Such a charming artstyle. Not the most original in terms of concept, but cute, fun and well-executed. The music is really well made.
The level of polish in this game is insane! I love these progressive powerup games and I can definitely see this becoming a full fledged mobile game. The dialogue system is so nice and clean and the character have a lot of charm. Keep up the great work and good luck on the full version!
It is a great game no doubt. i love the art and the ammount of polish you guys put into this.
Cute as heck and really polished! Everything was cohesive and nothing felt out of place. I'd love to play a full version of this. Really nicely done.
На лифтах нынче стало опасно ездить. То девочки маленькие в невидимости стоят, то монстры нападут. То панда вылезет. Ужас.
I feel like the game didn't flash out the theme enough, but good game regardless!
I can't get the game to run, I'm afraid; I've tried the latest versions of both Chrome and Firefox (on PC); both get to the "The game will start soon" screen and stay there forever (well, for at least 15m).
Graphics and audio are top notch! The production values were crazy high to be a game for a jam! At some point, infinite mode just broke down and no enemy came down anymore (I guess I found a bug?). The only thing that might make it better is a slightly bigger hitbox for the enemies or the gun projectiles!
Game didn`t launch. It shown "The game will start soon" and nothing else. After few minutes situation didn`t changed. :(
@tjm and @violetta Due to the quality of images and animation the game was built, it may not loading directly from the browser. Please, use itch.io link to download a windows version of the game. At your local machine, it shouldn't have trouble to run. Thanks.
Wow, the graphics and audio are great. The gameplay and upgrade system was super satisfying, and it's impressive you were able to pull this together in the time provided. I feel like the "unstable" elements (The glitch-laser and visuals on the enemy) weren't central components and didn't actually add that much to the game experience, so the connection to the theme could have been stronger in my opinion . Other than that, really fun game and amazing effort. Nice work!
I got stuck on lvl 9 (no mobs spawning) but the game was quite fun. It is possible to get all upgrades even without enough money (just click fast enough) this breaks game a little bit, but it is fun
@openfungames so you really like the game to be able to get to the lvl 9. Thanks! Sadly, because of the 72 hours deadline, we weren't able to test and fix all the corners of the game =( But we are working on a more stable and revised version to be released on smartphones, including a boss fight we didn't have time to program. You can follow us on social media or itch.io to know when this version is released.
What fun game! Looks and sounds great, but more importantly the upgrade-fueled gameplay was a ton of fun! The game literally made me FLIP (my monitor)!
IMG_0768 - Copy_proc.jpg
I would have played longer, but sadly the game stopped spawning enemies on level 9. Just as I had bought my Panda-chan
@joonamo LOL! Emily looks amazing in your fliped monitor. I will keep this image safe forever. Due to the 72h deadline, we had to rush really hard and some bugs scaped us. Personaly, I didn't think anyone would play as far as 9th floor. I'm really glad you enjoy it. Now the ludum dare development phase is over (and we were able to sleep more than 3 hours), we are working on a more stable version, with more upgrades, enemies and cool stuff. Panda-chan will shine in your smartphone screen (or flipped monitor). If you want, you can follow me on social media or itch.io to know when the full version is ready. It will be very soon. Ps.: I think your Link is somewhat curious about who Emily is.
@jpatchz I was trying to get all the upgrades to see how bad-ass Emily could get! :space_invader::gun: Pizzas need to be delivered!
@joonamo HAHAHA Yes! There is nothing more that deserve protection than pizza!
This is amazingly well polished! The art style is super cute, I love it. The music is so good and the sound effects are well-made too. It was pure fun to play! What a shame that it looks like there is a problem with level 9, since monster stop spawning. Otherwise, I will definitely keep playing. Great job!
@zimny11 I'm really glad you like the game. Sadly, the rushed time of the jam didn't let us to revise every aspect of the game, and a few bugs (like the 9th floor issue) has scaped from us. However, we are working on a more refined version to be release on mobile soon. If you want, you can follow me on social media or itch.io to know when we release it. Thank you so much for your comment.
Hey, @skyward4d, thanks for your comments. I’m glad you enjoy the graphics and upgrading system. That was our first entry in LD, so we weren’t completely sure about how the theme should be incorporated into the game. We will look at it with more care next time. Thanks for the tip.
@der-mondhase The 72h hours of a jam forced us to really complete something. It was crazy, stresseful, but really fun. I’m glad you like the graphics! Due to the rush, sadly some things got unfinished. Our initial intention was to build 10 levels, but we had to change to a infinity mode when we realize we wouldn’t get time to make more levels. But we didn’t have time to test this mode properly. However, we enjoy develope this game so much that we are working on the ideas we originally intento to do, and we will release a more stable and finished version soon on mobile platform. If you want, you can follow me on social medias or itch io to be notify. Also, thank you for your hit box tip. I will look up into this for sure.
@sibi Thank you for your feedback. The dialogue was a really fun part to develope. I’m happy that you liked it.
@thiago-nascimento Glad you like the art. It’s very nice to met another brazilian like us around here. I’m using oa smartphone right now, bu I will play and rate your game as soon as I get to the computer. It must have been crazy to develope a game in just one day!
@yodog Thanks for your comment! I’m really happy you like the game. Cuteness is indeed what we were looking for with this characters.
@xpoho спасибо. остерегайтесь медведей панда! 😹
@junber thank you for playing! We had really fun creating the creatures, we even give them silly names LOL. Originally our intention was to build the narrative until the 10th floor, but a few hours to jam’s deadline we realize we had to finish it as it was. However, we intend to release a more complete version for mobile devices soon. Thanks for letting us know about the feels you had using the machine gun. To equilibrate all the weapon is a very hard task we are striving to do for future updates, outside the jam. The juiciness of the weapons is definitely something we will invest a lot of time. Ps.: expect to see more of Shiba and Panda, in the story as well!
Very nice game! I got the bug where I could purchase lots of upgrades at once and go into debt, which obviously ruins the upgrade path. The dialog felt kind of long winded and unnecessary at times to me, and there are some blatant language mistakes in there (totally understandable for non-native english speakers though). The art is stunning, and the music is sweet too (elevator music for the shop is perfect!0 overall great work
Hey, @pat-cleaver , thanks for feedback. Dialogues can be really annoying sometimes, I’m into this with you 😹 We used the dialogue to build an emotional attachment between the player and the characters, while their personalities could be expressed. And we also wanted to hide a tutorial in the dialogues. Now that the jam’s development phase is over, we are tanking our time to fix bugs and typos to release a more complete version for mobile devices. Also, I’m glad you noticed our intention to use elevator music at the shop. Haha
@jpatchz I still think you did an impressive job with this game. I really feels like a little miracle: I mean, made in 72 hours only, with this level of polish? Holy heck, screw the bugs, it's just amazing! :D
It is super fun and addicting. I like the progression you have achieved with the difficulty and the upgrades. Too bad about the level 9 bug, I was having a great time! hahaha good job! animations and graphics are very goodCaptura.JPG
@javicoder thanks for reaching so far in the game and for your comment! We are working hard on the mobile version of the game. If you want, you can follow me on social media or itch io to be notify when we release it. I'm amazed you were able to unlock both Shiba and Panda before 9th floor!
Going to pile on with everyone else saying the graphics are just amazing. Really cute and looks great. The splash art on the top of the page is cool as well and made me immediately excited to try the game.
I love the dialogue and upgrade descriptions, and the flamethrower is just so incredibly satisfying.
Are the grenades implmented? I bought the grenades but never got one, my grenade counter was always at 0
Great game! I love the upgrade based progression, really reminds me of some great flash games from my childhood. And a mobile release sounds great :)
I see some people mentioned floor 9 bugging out, I got through floor 9, but floor 10 is just massively spawning lasers with no enemies endlessly for me, so I couldn't get all the upgrades. Also, I couldn't get the granade launcher to work, looks like I never had any grenades on hand.
Hey, @ninjacreeper47 thanks for playing and for your feedback! Flamethrower is also my favourite. During some point at development, we had system with a speak balloon with phrases Emily could occasionally says. Sometimes, when she used the flamethrower, she would say "burn! burn! burn!". I hope we bring this feature back when we release the game for mobile any time soon.
About the grenade, I was trying to fix a critical bug some users are reporting about the game stack at the 9th floor. Doing so, I ended up messing with the grenades by mistake ¬¬ Thanks for letting me know. I think I fixed it and things should work fine now.
Upgrades gets me exceited as well, @maxthedoom, I ever try put them on my games. Thank you so much for playing and rate us. Since many players are reporting about the 9th floor bug, I felt the need to fix it. Doing so, I ended up messing with the grenades by mistake. But everything should work fine by now. I also miss those flash games. When Adobe announced flash would get to an end, it was like losing a close freind.
Cool Art
Pretty well made with cool graphics. It's actually quite impressive you managed to do a game this polished in only 3 days, Congratz ! :)
It's amazing! A game with such a high degree of completion was made in 72 hours! The characters is cute and lively, and UI looks great!
I'm having fun in my screen😆
Snipaste_2021-10-11_21-16-00.jpg
Such a great game, loved that ♥
very cute! <3 loved the music and art.
Wow, the game is impressive, the graphics are super cute and the animations of instability of the enemies are wonderful. : 3 I loved it
Really cute game! Cute graphics and a nice little gameplay loop.
Thanks, @llaumegui . This dare is really crazy. It’s my first time and I loved rush into it. I hope I can do it again more times.
@sunnyrx LOL you found the right way to play Emily! Thanks for playing and comment. It was really fun creating the characters. They will return soon!
@handserge I’m glad you like! Thanks for playing.
Thank you, @angela-he !
Thank you for playing and comment, @ethernal-tech . I had really fun creating the instability animation. I wanted to create something similar to Vanellope’s glitch.
@animawish I’m happy you like the art and gameloop. The intention was indeed build something could be played in a few minutes so the gameplay wouldn’t take too long.
Really fun! The progression was great, I loved starting off pretty weak, but by the end I felt really powerful - that was one fast machine gun! The upgrades were awesome as well, and I especially loved the shiba and panda companions, since not only did they do my work for me but they were cute too! I'm really interesting in where you might take the idea in future, with more upgrades and enemy types and levels - there's so much potential for even more fun. The graphics and artwork were wonderful, the fact that the enemies had such unique designs and were colour coded were great, I loved the animations on those little blue guys. Overall a fantastic game - very, very fun!
@cakestorm thanks for playing! The scout girl will for sure return with more stuff to sell. She really need those precious golden coins LOL. One of my main worry during development is to balance upgrades and difficult, so thanks for sharing your thoughts about your feelings on the progression. It helps me as lot.
This is such a solid and polished game made in just 72 hours! Incredible!!
Thank you for you nice words, @penguinmunch
I HAVE TOO MUCH MONEY AND NOT ENOUGH UPGRADES!! Really fun game, love the upgrades (although the power creep was very real!). Excited to see how this game evolves!
Untitled.png
I really like this type of painting style, good job
Great art. My main complaint was I had a lot of trouble finely controlling her left/right motion. I may, however, just be bad at games!
I will start my stream about 9pm Uk time. Hope to see you there. https://www.twitch.tv/thesoulselector
I played this on stream tonight. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1179627561
Ok, probably one of the best games in terms of graphics this gamejam! Simply amazing!
As I said before, the graphics are fantastic. The dialog images give incredible depth to the game, everything visually speaking works beautifully.
Sound is perfect. Optimal volume and incredibly nice music. Every sound or sound effect used contributes to the quality that the game has.
And gameplay is the key to the game. Just so much fun. The upgrade system works very well. it's fun to buy upgrades and then test them on the poor unstable monsters hahahaha. And it was really lovely that you turned the game into an arcade after the story ends. And speaking of story, there's excellent text content in the game, which helps give it even more depth. Really everything works perfect!
And about the interpretation of the theme, I think it was a nice interpretation.
Lastly, I would like to say that I spent several minutes playing and managed to get all the upgrades. I really want to see this project as something bigger and I hope you have success with it! Good job!
Really like it! like the theme and the story. Good job!
I’m astonished you played that much, @timon ! We have a lot planned for future. I’m sure the scout girls will get very happy with your coins. Thanks for playing.
@xiyou I’m glad you like the art. Thanks for playing!
Thanks for playing, @ruruie. You’re not bad at games. The characters movement could really be improved. I had some issues programming it, so I had to decide use a more simple method to do so, giving the short time. I hope I can achieve a solution for a smoother movement at the full version of the game.
@arron-fowler I’m sorry I couldn’t see your message before the stream so I could interact with you live. I watched you playing and it was very helpful to observe your behaviour with HUD elements, the way you react over game elements and the decisions you made when buying upgrades. I followed your twitch channel. Thank you a lot.
@jpatchz My pleasure. I thought it was a great job you guys did. Pleased it was of use to you.
I wish I'd played this one earlier. From the artwork, to the music, to the characters... this feels like a herculean effort and a 5/5 across the board. To let this game die with LD would be a travesty.
The sheer amount of original artwork and music fully implemented is staggering. There's genuinely fun banter in between waves. The upgrades system (while kind of horribly broken and unbalanced) does exactly as you expect and actually adds components to the game instead of just being a raw damage/speed boost. In short, I don't know how this got done.
PLEASE take this postjam. I'd love to see more content and mechanics in this game to expand on it. You managed to do so much, and all polished to a T... even localization and dialogue skips, small QOL things that are unheard of in LD.
Please let me know if the soundtrack is available separately.
Thanks for playing, @vphyre. It's nice to see you have appreciated the game. It was our first jam, and the experience was exhaustive and at the same time amazing. We are already working on the mechanics to expand the game to mobile, it will be awesome!
Topo muito produzir algo junto com vocês. Uma equipe maior abre muitas possibilidades de criar um jogo ainda mais bacana.
Thanks for your nice words, @pilar-hidalgo
HAHAHA The upgrade system is really broken, @anchorlight! We focused so much in create new mechanics and elements, it left us little time to actually calibrate the numbers as they should be. We hope to fix it posjam.
We will realease a expanded version for sure in the next weeks. You can follow my itch.io to be notified when so.
I personally love localizations and foreign languages. I hope I can make the game be localized to futher languages like spanish and french, and also anothers.
About the music, we did not make it. It's from a guy named Infraction. He he makes available a lot of increadible musics with licence free on youtube. You can check his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/Infraction
You can see the name of the music we used at the credit screen, under the settings button in the game. Enjoy the music!
Wow this was a really good game! But... the balancing just feels off. I loved the art, sound, and gameplay, and played for a pretty good amount of time. I even maxed a few of the things. But that was the problem. Once I maxed everything, it felt too easy. Everything died in one hit, which made me not want to play any more because there was no challenge. I'm not saying that this is a bad game, far from it. But, I think the balancing could use quite a bit of tweaking. Congratulations on such an amazing first jam! This was a great game.
remind me the era of flash game, and also a very good graphic
It’s really a surprise for me that many folks played a lot past 4th Floor. Thanks for playing that much, @mateu. Due to the 72h hours, we could not balanced everything perfectly to furthers floors. I’m glad you were able to enjoy the game and I’m sure you will get amazed when you play the full version postjam. A lot of powerful enemies is coming so you can put your upgrades weapons to good use!
I’m happy you had a good time playing, @mainvar. Thanks for passing by.
