I always love rhythm games in jams - especially when they do something new with it - and this is no exception! Having shots and enemy spawns sync up with the music really helped the game flow nicely, and it made the whole experience much more enjoyable. I loved the gradual increase in challenge too, with new enemies and obstacles coming in. It did feel slightly unfair at points, like when spikes appeared beneath me with almost no warning, or a flying enemy had an unexpected path through me, but it was nothing too bad. Another thing I would've liked is a bit more progression; the start of the game and the end feel mostly the same, and there's not much change throughout. Something like powerups, something changing in the background - even collectable score tokens or something - that might've helped make the game feel like it has more substance to it.

The artwork was nice, and it did a lot with the limited colour palette - I especially liked how the enemies, terrain, and player were all colour-coded separately. One thing I'd say though is that the graphics felt a bit noisy at times, like the background, which was kind of confusing to look at and distracted from the actual platforms. Another thing is that the bullets suddenly disappearing looked a bit unpolished, so maybe some little animation for them disappearing would've helped. The music was, of course, very good, and the way it worked within the game was also a great fit. The bullet sound, too, meshed nicely with the background music.

I really loved the concept here, and I think it was well executed, and you did a great job on the game! Well done!

The Falling Knight V.S the Endless Pit of Dark Despair by ilPrinny 2021-04-27T19:45:17Z

I love the idea here - the turn-based puzzling and combat really lets you think ahead and strategize, and strategizing (and having plans actually work!) is always fun in a game. All of the movement options that you're given really help with that, since there are so many ways to manoeuvre enemies about and get them in the way of damage. I would say that it's a little difficult though - 25 enemies for level two was a steep goal to reach, especially with no (clear) way to heal, but it might just be that I'm not very good at the game :P

The art was great and I loved the hand-drawn feel of the game. The character and enemies all had some personality in their sprites too - it's only brief, but the face the player makes when attacking is great. The backgrounds were nice too, and all visually distinct, which helped make each level feel unique. Sound-wise, it was all good, and the sound effects were a good fit with the feel of the game.

I really liked this one - it's creative, fun, and has a nice charm to it. Nice work!

Altius by Random Thoughts 2021-04-28T16:53:35Z

A nice little mining game, with some good combat in it - great job! I liked the sense of progression in the game, going deeper and deeper into the mines whilst upgrading my tools. That being said, it would've been much nicer if more was shown to the player. Stuff like how many crystals you had, what buttons did, how much going deeper costed, all of that would've made the game feel much more enjoyable. The enemies did feel too powerful at first - though maybe I wasn't supposed to be going where they were. I also spent a lot of my time running back and forth, so maybe some way to get back to base faster would be nice.

The art and animations were very smooth and polished, especially the attack projectiles - it looked great. All of the effects helped the game feel more responsive too, which is always cool to see in a game. I do think that it felt a bit empty though, with nothing really standing out in the background, and no variation in the tiles - even a little bit of variance could've helped it there, I think. The lack of sound was kind of jarring as well, and the game felt kind of unfinished without it - though it is a jam game, and running out of time to add that there is understandable.

All in all, it was a fun time playing the game, so good job making it!

Dig Dog Dig by Rolodophone 2021-05-03T20:02:31Z

An interesting sort of puzzle-mining game! I liked the idea of mining down and collecting bonuses along the way, to get to the end goal of the bone. The cutscene at the beginning was a nice addition too, and it gave me some idea of what the game was about, so good work on adding that. I do feel the game could be better executed though - there wasn't really much indication of obstacles, even if they were the same place every time, and it was easy to forget where they were. Maybe put a warning on them, if you've discovered them once before? Another thing is that digging felt very slow, even with the first apple, and it was a little tedious to have to restart at the beginning each time. Being able to keep your speed upgrades might've helped there.

The art was easy to read, and I did love all the little expressions the dog had - added some great personality to the game! The tiles looked a bit visually noisy, but they fit together well, and they clearly looked like dirt, so they were fine. The sound effects were a really good choice, and they added a lot of feedback to the game which helped make it a lot more fun to play.

I really liked the idea here, and it has a lot of potential to be worked on - it was a good entry! Nice work!

Deep Cover by Madbarron 2021-04-28T17:19:49Z

Brilliant game - I loved it! It's such a simple idea, collecting **_clues_** and finding the right person, but it works so well here! I really liked how you had to bring it all together at the end, and test your memory on the keywords - really added some **_depth_** to the game. The story was a really nice addition too, and it helped keep me going throughout. I loved all the nonsensical **_humour_** of it all. I would say though that the game got a bit tedious at points - the characters who delayed you didn't really add much to the game, and just wasted your time without adding any **_challenge_**. I don't usually like hard memory games either, but I still found this one too easy - some more difficulty in guessing the correct **_sentences_** would've been nice.

Artstyle-wise, I found it wonderful. The **_environments_** were all very attractive and the low-poly style of it worked very well. The cutouts were a creative way to show characters, and the designs on them - especially the **_fish people_** - were all very well done. The only real issue I had with it is that throughout the game I was always dressed as a waiter, which was a little strange on a **_submarine_**. The music was very nice, as were the **_sound effects_** - it was only a minor thing, but the little footstep sounds were a good **_idea_** to add. The ambient background noises also helped to make the game feel more alive, so it was nice to hear those.

It was a great detective game with a lot of charm and personality to it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing - very well done on this one!

Derelict Dive by tetrapteryx 2021-04-27T14:40:10Z

Nice game! It was a simple concept, but it worked well. I loved the progression of the game, and how it fit with the theme, and it was always satisfying to see myself going past previous milestones. The gameplay was slow at times though, especially since there wasn't all that much challenge getting to the oxygen tanks, so a lot of the time I was just waiting to rise up. Also, I wasn't sure if holding up and boosting actually did anything, or if I was supposed to be doing it all the time - it'd be nice if that was a bit clearer.

As for the artwork, it was great. The background looked really nice, and the sprites stood out well in front of it. The obstacles were very clear to see too, which is always great in a game - though one complaint is that some of the oxygen tanks and obstacles look a bit similar, which was a little confusing at times. The sound design was fitting too, and the thruster sound effects, though small, were a really nice addition to the game. The background music was relaxing, and it worked with the feel of them game.

All in all, it was a fun little game, and you did a really good job on it! Nice work!

Dino Digging by Argon 2021-04-28T17:47:57Z

It was a little hard to understand at first, but when I got used to it it was actually a really fun puzzle game! I loved all the strategizing that went into it - planning ahead which blocks were going to fall where, chaining together 10 blocks to be destroyed at once, it was all so satisfying. The upgrades were a nice touch too, and gave a pretty good incentive to see how far down I could get. One thing I would've liked is some end state though - maybe I didn't get deep enough down, but I collected all the bones (I think) and all the upgrades, but didn't get anything in the end. Even a congratulations screen would've been nice - but that doesn't have any effect on how fun the game was regardless!

The art was nice looking too, and the dirt and rock tiles especially looked good. The way the tiles got darker the deeper you went was also a cool addition. The UI was clear, but the buttons and text did feel a little out of place with the rest of the game - though it was all still readable. The sound design was all alright as well, though there were a few bugs with the sound looping on loading a new level - nothing major, but it was slightly annoying.

I really liked the game overall, and it seems like it has a lot of potential features and gameplay to add - I'm interested to see where it goes in future! Great work!

Dreep - Drilling Deep by DrSomma 2021-04-27T15:00:47Z

I had a lot more fun in this one than I thought I would, so good work! I always loved those flash mining games, like motherlode, so I was bound to like this one. It was all very easy to understand after a bit, and I got into the flow of mining and upgrading after a while too. For what there was it was nice and enjoyable - though the problem I had was that there wasn't enough! The upgrades felt a little boring to me, and there wasn't much to do except mine through dirt and occasionally a fossil. The pacing felt off too since the upgrades were very expensive at the start, for not that much benefit, while at the end I was earning thousands from gems that I only could've collected if I was fully upgraded already. Some more substance to the game would've been really nice. Polish is another thing I'd mention; it did feel a little unfinished, but it is a jam game, so that's not the end of the world!

The art was pretty good too and I could tell what everything was quickly, which is always great! Some of the graphics did feel a bit rushed - the stone texture and shop menu particularly - but it still all worked together nicely. The sounds were also fine. The drilling noises were a nice little touch to add some engagement to the game, although some music would've been great too, since it did feel a little empty without it.

Overall, though, it was a solid game, and it had me hooked for a while - great work on it!

Deep Abyss by Taranis Elsu 2021-04-27T15:25:39Z

Good job on making a 3D game for the jam - and one that works on mobile too! The game was easy to understand, and it was clear what I was supposed to do, which is great. It did feel a bit unfair though, and I feel like there's some mechanic that I'm missing, since it's difficult to dodge all the enemies. There are so many of them, and most of them are one or two hit kills - and if you get caught by the squid, it's game over, since you can't run away from them anymore. It was a fun little challenge trying to path my way through them though, and the dash mechanic did help a little there too, which was nice.

The graphics were really nice! The low-poly 3D look was great and the way the game got darker the deeper you went helped add to the atmosphere and feel of the whole game. The way the enemies got bigger and bigger was a really nice touch too - it helped to make the depths seem even more ominous, and it really helped the feel of the game. The music was pretty pleasing too, but I would've loved some more sound effects - the game did feel sort of empty without many of them.

It was a fun little adventure regardless, and I had a good time, so nice work on this one!

Elevator Ninja by Loig 2021-04-27T19:59:09Z

A game with a lot of personality and charm - I really liked it! The intro cutscene was helpful little addition, and the gameplay itself was fun. The way the difficulty scaled was nice too - the game felt very nicely paced. It was a little unfair at times, though - having to rapidly move left and right at the end of the falling rocks section seemed almost impossible to do at times. Falling through the spikes afterwards was a nice way to shake up gameplay, but not being able to see below you at times was not too fun. Knowing that info on my second run, however, did make it much more enjoyable. The sound effects were great, and I loved how silly the whole thing felt. It was a really fun experience overall, and the game was very funny - great work!

Deep Breaths by Patsui 2021-05-05T09:17:28Z

What a great take on the theme - and what a fun game! Combining serene meditation with high-octane racing was a great idea, and it worked surprisingly well. It controlled nicely too, and having to breathe in and out added a nice bit of mechanical depth, although at first it was a little confusing what it did and when the breathing changed - I understood how to do it in the end though. The powerups and bad vibes also gave the game more depth, with you having to pick up or avoid them, though I would say it was hard to do that with the low turning speed, especially when boosting forwards through the subconscious. Some new obstacles or challenges could've helped the game as well, since most laps around the track felt and played the same, and the timer did last for quite a long time.

Art and graphics-wise, I thought it was brilliant. The colours worked really well together and made it easy to tell things apart on screen. The environment, too, was great - it really did feel surreal enough to be a dive into the mind. I loved the effects on-screen as well, like the speed lines, and the faint pink glowing at the edges. It added a good bit of visual flavour to the game, and made racing feel faster and more enjoyable. One nit-pick, though, is that the tree sprites were a little bit repetitive after a while, and the whole track didn't have that much visual variation, so something there might've been a good addition.

The music was nice and relaxing, perfect for a game like this, and the sound effects added a lot of charm as well. The sounds when the breathing mode switched were also a nice touch which made changing controls just that bit easier. My favourite was probably the little grumbles when you caught a negative thought, though - it just had a lot of personality.

Overall, I loved this game, and how it played, and how it looked - it was all around a brilliant entry, and so very good job on making it!

Descending by mr forty two 2021-04-27T18:07:28Z

Cool idea - I liked it! It was sort of like a side-view bomberman, which worked well, especially with the enemies there to add some challenge. Having two separate bomb types to use was a nice addition, though the hitboxes for the explosions could've been a bit clearer and I did get hit a few times when I thought I shouldn't. The artwork could've been better, but to its credit it was clear to me what everything did and the different tiles added a nice bit of visual flavour, so nice work on those. The music got a bit repetitive too, but it was much better than just silence. Great work on this game!

Birdy adventures of Sherlock Worm by spacecadet 2021-04-28T16:02:00Z

It was an enjoyable little game, good work! The intro cutscene was a really nice addition, and provided a good bit of context to what I was doing in the game. The gameplay itself was simple, but it worked well, and growing as I ate more wood helped give the game some progression. That being said, it was a little unclear what I was doing - did growing actually do anything in game? And the powerups were a bit confusing too, since they kind of looked like saws or blades to me at first - something to avoid, which made the first couple of playthroughs feel kind of unfair.

The graphics were nice too, and I loved how the tree was textured and coloured - it was all nice and clear. The character designs looked unique as well, which was great. Some of the powerups did seem out of place though, like the dark blue speed powerups in the tree - what were they supposed to represent? The music was really good, though, and the sound effects added some feedback to the game - good on those. It was a good game, nice one!

Chippy Picker by Javid Ladhani 2021-04-27T15:35:12Z

What a weird and wonderful game! The changing gameplay styles and perspectives were a really nice feature, and each section felt well polished and designed in its own right. The first section I especially liked - it was a simple idea, but having to try and catch up was a fun idea, and the way all the chips were colour-coded was a great little quality of life feature.

The graphics were amazing too. They worked really well, looked great, and added a great deal of personality to the game - excellent work on them! The little animated cutscenes were a nice touch and they helped keep the flow of the game going, so that was a great addition.

It was an experience, in the best sense of the word, to play this game, and I really enjoyed it all, so really good job!

Goose Root by jryzkns 2021-04-30T20:12:36Z

A wonderful little game - I loved it! The art, and the gameplay, and the music, it was all so charming and relaxing. Drawing out your own roots was a really neat idea, and being able to control it myself and discover things was nice. One nitpick is that it was hard to control, and I kept dragging outside the lines at first and getting nowhere - especially at the beginning, where I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be following some set path or not, or if I was going almost horizontal and moved my mouse up slightly. Once I got the hang of it, though, it was actually great fun to control and I loved then discovering everything buried below - there was some great humour there. All of the variety really helped add to the experience, and there was a lot of it!

The art and graphics were brilliant and very well polished - great work on those! I loved the look of the forest above, and everything buried below looked great too - the white outlines really helped things stand out against the background. The gooseberry bush growing with the roots was a nice addition and helped add some sense of progression to the game. As for the music, it fit very well with the general feel of the game, and was nice and relaxing - perfect for this kind of game. The background noises too helped the atmosphere, and the sound effects when finding something new very satisfying. And the ending was a lovely finish for it all - cute and creative!

I loved this entry in all ways - it was a great experience, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Phenomenal work!

Ludum Dare by She Wrote 2021-04-30T13:23:27Z

This was more of an experience than it was a game - and I liked it! It was confusing at first to figure out what to do, but the way the game pulled you out of that initial situation was a nice twist. Some more feedback, or something to do, would've been nice though, since at first I was thinking I was doing something wrong. A similar thing happened with the second section, where I wasn't sure if hovering over the words actually did anything at first - giving some visual indication of progress, or making it shorter, would've helped.

The art was great, and I loved the hand-drawn style of it. The colour palette was really pleasing too - not something I would've thought of for space, but it worked very well. Some visual feedback or engagement on the game would've been nice, since the only thing I really affected was the cursor and astronaut, but it wasn't too big of an issue. Sounds-wise, I think the game could've been better; they felt a bit harsh on the ears, especially at the start where there was no music, but I suppose that fits with how sudden the situation would be.

I enjoyed my time with this game, so good job on it!

Dig It Out by Threaded Lama Digital 2021-04-28T15:49:23Z

A surprisingly meaningful game for 48 hours - well done! The idea of falling deeper and deeper into debt and being unable to dig yourself out was a very unique take on the theme, and having to figure out through gameplay that you couldn't get out was a good way to show that. The gameplay, though, was tedious - a lot of the time was spent just walking right for minutes, and about halfway through I realised the metal detecting - the only real gameplay mechanic there was - was pointless too. Still, I suppose it does show the hopelessness of the situation well, so I shouldn't complain that much about it.

The artwork was nice and the day-night cycle was a great little touch, though it did feel a bit sudden that it changed so quickly. The background was really good too, and the little details like the cut down trees around the lumberjack's house just helped make the world feel more alive. I liked the animation too, since it felt pretty smooth, if a little slow for the speed you were going at. The music was brilliant, and very high quality for the 48 hours. Having different tracks each day was really nice too. The sound effects when talking were also great, so good job on those.

It was a nice experience, and had some real depth to it, so well done!

Rainbow Fall by Vitor Barbosa 2021-04-27T17:57:30Z

I loved how polished this game felt - really nice! The idea was unique, but still implemented very well, which is always an accomplishment to be proud of. The different block mechanics were introduced and paced well, and each one added something new to the game, though I do wish that there was some more variety in the types and formations of blocks. Maybe having multiple layers of them, instead of just one horizontal line? Something like that to add to the strategy, since a lot of the time I wasn't really feeling all that challenged. That didn't stop me playing, mind you - I ended up with a final score of 20200.

The graphics and art were wonderful. Not only did the colours work nicely to make the game feel vibrant, but the sprites themselves looked nice too. All of the subtle effects were a great addition too - the glowing, the particles, all of it added up to make a really visually pleasing game. One thing I would add though is that the player sprite did feel a little static, so animating it a bit more might've been nice. The music was fitting for the game, and it was a great listen too - I really liked it! The sound effects were a great choice as well.

With that all said, it's a really fun casual game, and I had a great time. Excellent work!

Mine - 0.3K by fy0 2021-05-03T20:23:47Z

This game looks like it has a lot of potential - and it's good fun as it is now! Having to manage your workers and costs, as well as your reputation and skills, all made the game feel quite deep mechanically, which was nice. The events when mining were also a good addition, and they added a good bit of flavour to the game - it made it much more engaging to play. The randomness did feel unfair, though, and sometimes I would mine all my money away, and still find nothing, which wasn't particularly enjoyable. Some sort of goal to work towards would've been great too, since otherwise there wasn't really much reason to play past a certain point.

The graphics were very nice and they looked great for a jam game! It was all very clear and easy to read too, which is always a great thing to see in a game. Some animations or more movement to the graphics would've been good, though, since right now it does feel a bit flat - that doesn't mean it's not a nice looking game! The way the music changed between levels was an interesting feature, so that was cool.

It was a fun game, all in all, so good work on it!

LUNA IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS (FESTA ESTRANHA COM GENTE ESQUISITA ) by zagoiris 2021-04-27T15:15:04Z

A really unique idea for a game - nice one! It was a little confusing what to to at first, but I got there eventually. The gameplay itself was fine, but it was difficult to understand - I sort of stumbled my way through the first playthrough, although I suppose that does fit in with the theme of the game! Having the mechanics explained more clearly definitely would've helped though, since otherwise I have no clue if I'm playing the game right or not. Kind of unrelated, but a way to exit the game or at least get back to the menu to quit would've been great as well.

The graphics were nice, if a little inconsistent at times. The archers, ghosts, and player sprites all had different styles, and all clashed when placed in the same room. The rest of the graphics were nice, though, and I did enjoy the gradually increasing effects throughout the game. I would've liked it if they were a bit less extreme on the menu though - it did make things hard to read.

The game, overall, was a nice little experience though, and you did a great job making it, so well done!

Into The Darkness by Ryan Romero 2021-05-03T19:47:48Z

It was a relaxing, chill experience! It was a bit confusing to figure out what I was doing - but the gameplay was simple enough, and I think I got there in the end. Having the upgrade system for the fire was a neat addition, and helped add some progress to the game. It would've been nice if the upgrades were a bit clearer though, since they didn't seem to be doing anything for me, and I'm not sure what upgrading heat or size really achieved for the gameplay. The camera did feel difficult to use too - it jumped around, sometimes seemingly randomly, and also might've rotated at times? It was a little difficult to use.

On the other hand, the graphics and effects were great. The lighting and shadows, the RGB lighting effects, it helped make the game feel very atmospheric, and it looked very nice because of it. The way the camera smoothly moved around with the WASD keys was also good, and it made the game feel that bit more polished. The music was fitting for the feel of the game, although some sound effects would've been a great addition - some faint crackling noises, a whoosh or something when you lit a new fire - it would've helped make the game a bit more engaging.

It was a nice experience, regardless, and I enjoyed this entry - well done!

Sleepy Trouble by Stevi60 2021-04-27T19:16:14Z

I absolutely loved this game! It was so polished, and pretty, and it was a great experience overall. The mechanic of only having so much time outside your body was great - although it did feel like more of a chore at some points. Especially at the sections where there was a hard jump to make, having to go back and reset every time was a bit tedious. Still, it was implemented well, and nothing about it felt too unfair or challenging. The abilities you gain throughout the game were all fun to use, and they helped add to a sense of progression. Some of them felt like they were there for a one-time use only - the explosion did feel a bit gimmicky - but they were a nice addition nonetheless. I enjoyed all of the different puzzles and rooms in the game as well, there was a lot of content for a game jam game!

I found the artwork stunning as well. The sprites and environment were all really well made (and some of the paintings were ...interesting?), and the black and white colour scheme did make it feel more dream-like. The blue glowing when using your abilities was very nice looking too and it made the whole thing feel more ethereal. One complaint I have is that the levers are a little hard to see - though as you've already said, some blue light could've made them stand out more. The effects added that extra bit of visual flavour to the game too. As for the sound design and music, it was wonderful. The music was a great match for the feel of the game, and didn't feel too intrusive. The sound effects were also pleasing to listen to, and the variance in them was great.

Overall, I really loved this game. The gameplay, the graphics, the sound - it all came together to make something really enjoyable. I had a great time playing it, and you did a phenomenal job making it!

Down Under by anactualhuman 2021-04-27T18:44:49Z

It's a challenging little puzzle platformer - and I like challenging puzzle platformers! It was fun being able to sculpt the level around you, whilst trying to manage how many pickaxes I had left. It was a little unintuitive at times, since sometimes I would mine the wrong block, and when jumping out of small gaps my jumps wouldn't register, which took away from the game somewhat. The controls were a little too fast in my opinion too, and it felt like I had to do things pixel perfect at points - though that added to the challenge of it all.

The art was charming, and for only 4 colours it worked well. On large walls it was sort of hard to tell each tile apart, but I suppose that just means that the graphics tile nicely, which is good. The player animations were great too - they really added some nice visual flavour to the game. The sound effects fit nicely, but some music would've helped the game feel less empty, I think. It was a fun little game though, so nice work on this one!

Boomerang Basement Brawl by rhitakorrr 2021-04-30T19:48:37Z

Simple, but still fun - good job! Boomerang physics and projectiles are always fun in games, so it's good to see it being used well here. I did enjoy throwing the boomerang around and trying to hit as many enemies as possible, but it did seem a bit buggy (ha!) since the boomerang got stuck on shelves sometimes, and the hitbox did feel slightly off. I would say as well that something more to do in the game would be great - opening the boxes could've felt like a fun gamble or something, but instead it felt like 90% bugs and maybe some health. More feedback when hitting the bugs would've made the game more engaging too, but it's still fun without. I did enjoy the humour of the game - particularly the self awareness of it all (yeah, why is there a room filled with empty shelves?), so nice work.

I had fun in this game, and there's a lot of potential to add to it, so great work!

Space Station 8 by jessefreeman 2021-10-10T20:01:56Z

Awesome work on the level editor, it's very impressive for a game jam! I love the fact that you can customise graphics too, there's so much potential. It's not as inspired as a complete reskin, but here's my level:

funmap.png

Hope it loads properly! Editing and saving it as an image was nice and convenient. Even though the switches don't do anything yet, they still make for some good background decor when reskinned, I like that. The retro feel is wonderful too - making it with Pixel Vision 8 just makes it even more authentic! Very impressive what you can do with PV8, it's really great! Well done!

Awesome game, I loved the idea! It was tense having to manage the shuttle from falling apart, especially when I was racing to the cockpit to get away from the explosion - it got pretty frantic! It was really simple to understand too, which was nice - having to use only E for everything (and a & d) made things easier to figure out, which was nice. The art was really great - in particular I liked the background, which managed to look beautiful without getting in the way of the foreground, and the whole thing worked very well as an artstyle. The way objects were highlighted when you could interact was a good touch; it made things clearer without needing any text or anything, it was good visual communication! Overall a fun little game, I'd love to see it expanded upon - very well done!

Quantum Splitter by thetatautau 2021-10-14T08:16:23Z

A brilliant puzzle game, well done! I loved the idea of using atoms as puzzle pieces - there are so many chemical and physical ideas you can implement as mechanics! The levels were all very good too, and the mechanics worked together in interesting ways - I can't remember which one it was, but having to make a move, then move and atom, then make another was a wonderful combination to make. The difficulty curve was great as well, it always kept me challenged, so I'd love to see even more levels to keep it up! The mood of the game was great, very calming and methodical, with the minimalistic art style, UI design and music; it worked together very well. The little popping sounds of the atoms were satisfying too - I loved the slight variation between them. Very good job making this game, particularly in 48 hours - well done!

RAGE HORSE by SlickRamen 2021-10-13T09:32:35Z

This game was really fun to play - well done! I loved the effects on the guns - it felt great to shoot, and all the little things like the magazines falling out, the screenshake, it all added up to make it very engaging and fun. Shooting the windows was entertaining as well - I'd love to see more destructible environments like that. The guns all felt different from one another too, with the different sounds and all, which added some variety. I loved the graphics as well, the city background looked so good without looking noisy or getting in the way of the foreground, good job on that! The little animation of you dropping your burner phone was also a good addition. I'd love to see this expanded upon, it looks to have a lot of potential - great work!

Hunger Of The Elder Slime by JohnLee Cooper 2021-10-18T07:18:23Z

Brilliant fun, it was a really unique concept that was executed very well! I loved the way you had to balance tower building - not only did you have to worry about the elder slime, but also the paths of the smaller slimes too, as well as how well positioned your towers were - it led to some great strategy. The towers were all good as well, I liked how much variety there was in them, and how not all of them were used for killing slimes either. The variety in enemies helped the game a lot too, I'd love to see that idea expanded upon with more variety in enemy types! The artwork was wonderful, calming in a way; the nice nighttime background was nice and peaceful considering the battleground in front. I appreciated the animations when slimes died too, as well as the little amount of sugar you got - it made those waves with dozens of weak slimes so much fun. The music and sound effects also worked well, especially the little squish noises. Overall a very good game, with even more potential too - fantastic work on it!

Stars - Where they come from? by Tryus30 2021-10-05T13:47:27Z

Interesting idea, you used a really unique mechanic for jumping! I'm all for new ways to control characters, and with some work this could be a fun way to move about. Maybe something like a meter to show how far you're about to jump, or some sort of indication of that? It was still a fun platformer, though, and I liked the increasing tension as the lava began to rise. The graphics were awesome as well, very clean animations, and the lighting effects really added to the atmosphere of the game. I had fun, well done on this game!

Lab Panic! by GibsS 2021-10-06T07:18:24Z

I loved all the little additions to this game that made it so much more fun to play - the way the explosions moved around walls, the map of levels that you'd completed, the ability to skip levels - all these little things add up to make a much more enjoyable experience, and it shows how much time and effort you put into your game! The main mechanic was really fun too, there was nothing quite as satisfying as firing through as many goo vats as possible. Great work, it was a really fun game!

NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME by LeYamez 2021-10-13T08:41:28Z

What a fun game! The idea was simple, but it worked very well in the core gameplay loop - even though I wasn't very good at it, I kept coming back over and over! I liked how the gravity worked as well, sometimes it was fun to just orbit for a little bit, and it was great seeing how far out I could go too, and I'm glad the screen zoomed for that! The graphics and aesthetics worked really well in that geometric style, and I particularly liked how the cat rotated and tumbled through space - very entertaining to watch! The music added to the feel of the game too; it felt relaxing, just clicking from obejct to object, once I got into the flow of it. Very entertaining game, I had lots of fun playing it!

WOLFGUN by sodaraptor 2021-10-07T15:22:01Z

The variety in upgrades was great, as well as how quickly they added together and how quickly you became overpowered too - I loved the feeling of power. The unique mechanic was also a good addition, and it provided some interesting challenges: charge through the horde of enemies, but risk having it run out too early? I would've to see it expanded upon more! The graphics were also really nice, and I appreciated the amount of blood and particles and explosions; there was nothing quite like walking through a sea of red after the end of a wave. Great work, it was a really fun game!

Animals Island by Argon 2021-10-07T14:22:49Z

Nice game! It was a really interesting idea, and it played well too - there was never a moment where I felt bored or in control, and things rapidly became unstable, perfect for the theme! I liked the random order of placing creatures too, it made it even more disorderly and forced you to think ahead to your next move. The graphics were nice too, the different colours for creature made things very easy to read, and I really liked the pencil-drawn aesthetic! The variety in sound effects kept them fresh, which was also nice. Good work on this game, it was really unique!

Jimothy and the Unstable Sword by GabrielGameDev 2021-10-05T14:16:17Z

I loved how movement felt in this game; there was something so satisfying about dodge rolling through logs and fire, and slashing away at those little spider monsters. The way each room was set up was good too, I liked how close the respawn points were to the action. The dialogue between characters was also a highlight, the humour added a lot of character to the game and it was nice being given context for what I was doing! Awesome work, I really enjoyed it!

Unstable Cubes by Lenan 2021-10-05T14:04:51Z

Great idea, I loved the main mechanic! I loved just bouncing around and exploding upwards - a shorter refresh time would be even more entertaining, in my opinon. There are a lot of interesting ways to take the idea, and I like how it's used in-game! The little particles when your jump refreshes are a nice touch as well, I like how simple yet effective they are in communicating that to the player. The lighting was also pretty cool, it added some visual variety to the levels, so it was a good addition! Very nice game, great work on making it!

Volatile Defender by azagaya 2021-10-05T15:24:56Z

Brilliant game! I loved the mix between turn-based and real time, it was fun considering when to move and which rows to move to, since there was enough time to think but not too much to feel slow. The powerups were awesome as well, they added so much variety to gameplay - I'm not sure if the shield was supposed to be used offensively, but it was definitely fun to do so! The enemies worked well as well, and I particularly liked the one that could destroy other enemies around it, I loved seeing it do that every time. The artwork was also brilliant, I loved the enemies' consistent colour scheme and general mechanic look, and the lighting on those bullets was a nice touch too. I also thought the sound was great, with all the explosions and that fast-paced music, it was very satisfying. Overall a really fun game that kept me playing for 19 waves and 2070 score - wonder how long I'll stay on the leaderboard? Well done for this game!

Go Hard! by bernard-bumblebutt 2021-10-05T13:16:33Z

I love the mechanics, it's a really satisfying game to play and you've made it so fun just to shoot things! I particularly liked the insanity mode, getting that reward for playing well is so nice. The graphics were awesome too, I loved the effects on the bullets, they made shooting so much more satisfying. The online leaderboard was a nice touch too, added some motivation to perform as well as you could. I would've liked adding my own username, but I can see why you might limit them! Can I ask what you used to set that leaderboard up? Really great game, very well done on making it!

Emily vs the Unstable Creatures by JPatchZ 2021-10-12T19:19:22Z

Really fun! The progression was great, I loved starting off pretty weak, but by the end I felt really powerful - that was one fast machine gun! The upgrades were awesome as well, and I especially loved the shiba and panda companions, since not only did they do my work for me but they were cute too! I'm really interesting in where you might take the idea in future, with more upgrades and enemy types and levels - there's so much potential for even more fun. The graphics and artwork were wonderful, the fact that the enemies had such unique designs and were colour coded were great, I loved the animations on those little blue guys. Overall a fantastic game - very, very fun!

BATTERY ACID by AploveStudio 2021-10-13T08:53:24Z

Brilliant game! It was nice and simple to understand and learn, and playing it made me feel powerful; I loved the parry ability especially, using the enemies' bullets against them. It was very fun to just shoot as well, the sound effects and shaking on the enemies made for some excellent feedback. I loved the colour scheme and aesthetic too, the black and white and rainbow look was beautiful, it made for such a nice mood! The boss enemies help keep up some variety as well, they kept me playing much longer just to see if there were any new ones to appear, and it was always so fun trying to kill them as fast as possible. The flavour text when you died was a good addition too, gave the game some character. Overall, a very fun game, and very engaging, well done!

Grabanakki by Saturnyoshi 2021-10-05T15:06:32Z

Great fun! The mechanic was great, it made for some interesting tradeoffs - throw the block and lose a plaform, or be patient and risk getting hit? Being able to aim in all 4 directions added a lot of depth to gameplay as well, and the little bits of movement when throwing things added some good feedback too. I appreciated the variety as well, the variety in enemies, in level design, in blocks, it all added up. The art was brilliant - I particularly liked the contrast between 3-colour muted backgrounds and the bright, high contrast outlined foreground, it made reading the scene very easy to do. Showing the ghost of the enemies was a good addition too, it made the game much more fair without feeling too easy, I liked that mechanic. For the music and sound design, I especially liked the level select sound effect; the rest of it was still all very good, but I just liked the steel drum particularly, it's a pleasant sound effect. All in all I had a great time, and you all did a great job making this game! Great work!

Natura Disastia by Dedjo0 2021-10-17T08:10:10Z

I love how you combined a puzzle game and a fighting game together in this way, it was a brilliant idea! I loved organising my placements of spirits and trying to work out the optimal moves, and it was always so satisfying getting that 5-combo in the end. I'd love to see it expanded upon, with new spells, new spirits, even bigger grids; it was so fun to play around in. The upgrades were a nice addition as well, they added some progress and I particularly liked buying new spells and spirits, it kept the game refreshing. The art was wonderful, I loved how the game art and UI art worked well together - I loved the style of the shadows and that polka dot background, right out of a comic book - and the character designs were awesome as well. Those little animations when attacking or getting hit added a lot of personality to the game! The music was a really good fit for the game as well, particularly that final boss music, it never got old. A brilliant game, I'd love to see where it goes in future, so very well done!

Finding Balance by WooshDUde 2021-10-05T15:56:49Z

I love the gameplay here, it's a unique take on the theme! Having to balance two players on either side of the level made for some additional challenge to the already puzzling levels, and I spent a lot of them dashing to the end before the whole thing fell over - it was very tense, and I liked it! The dynamic music helped make it even more thrilling, as the closer you got to the end the more the tension built up in the music. The graphics were easy to read as well, especially with everything colour coded, and the simple style worked well for the abstract environment. A really unique game, with a great idea behind it too - stellar job!

STAR STRUGGLE by 730 2021-10-05T14:55:22Z

Wonderful game, I loved it! The main mechanic was very well implemented, it definitely felt unstable but not unfair, since I still had control over the spinning. The waves of enemies were good too, there were enough that it didn't feel repetitive, and the fact it went on infinitely was great fun as well. Having a high score system was nice also, it kept me playing just to see if I could beat last time's score. The music and graphics worked really well together, and I loved the arcade aesthetic of the game, it felt great. It's a little thing, but I liked how huge the player's bullets were as well, it made hitting enemies much more forgiving and fun. That's probably the best way to describe this game: fun. I had a blast playing this, I'd love to see what you could do with it in future! Awesome work! Oh, and my final highscore was 18200 - good score or bad score?

The Lesser Evil by Jon Topielski 2021-10-07T15:16:28Z

I loved seeing all of the curses in this game - there were so many of them, that I only had a few repetitions throughout the entire run! It was really fun when then synergised to be particularly bad as well, and I'd imagine an invisible player, invisible flashlight and invisible crosshair would make for some interesting gameplay. The art was beautiful as well, especially impressive with only 2 colours, and the 3D effects on the enemies looked very nice. It still looked good even with the random palette swaps! Overall a very fun game, with a solid design, well done!

Snowbody's Mountain by WeAreDev 2021-10-05T13:57:11Z

Hard game, but I really liked the physics! A physics-based platformer is a really interesting idea, and I'd love to see it expanded upon, just maybe in a slightly easier way! Still, I can see how fun this would be if I started getting good at it. The artwork was really clean and polished, and I loved the cold colour scheme, it fit perfectly with the tone of the game. The music and sounds were also great, and I particularly liked the little notes whenever you hit your head on the ground, they made restarting a bit nicer. I love the idea here, so great work for implementing it!

Atomic Rock Paper Scissors by lucasvb 2021-10-13T07:46:27Z

Awesome game! I loved how the mechanics naturally balanced themselves out - if you had too many scissors, one rock was all you needed to clear them out (and earn a ton of points!). It led to some interesting trade offs as well, it was very strategic! I really liked how methodical the endgame got as well, it was interesting going from setting up long chains to trying to avoid trapping any of your pieces under blocks. The graphics were very good, nice and readable, and I liked the little frame around your selected piece, particularly with those sound effects on the arrows! Overall really fun puzzle game, great work!

Citride by Asemic 2021-10-05T14:44:43Z

What an interesting idea - having to change characters, each with their own abilities, to solve a puzzle! I loved how complex it could get, considering whether or not to wait for a switch to get over an obstacle or keep on moving as quickly as possible to the end, it made for some tense moments, especially with the timer ticking down and the music speeding up. The graphics were great as well, I loved the isometric viewpoint and the visual designs of each character, it gave them character and made their abilities clear. I appreciated the music and sound design too, the way it gradually picked up pace was great. I wish there were more levels, since this was very fun to play, excellent work!

Crazy Cauldron by Quite Good 2021-10-07T19:23:17Z

Beautiful game, with such a good idea behind it! I liked the mechanic of mixing colours together to make potions, as well as the options of mixing two colours together or just using one ingredient instead, it gave me some choice which I liked. I'd love to see it expanded upon further, with more and more combinations and mixtures - maybe not just with colours, but size, opacity, all sorts of other factors - mixing the right potions could become hectic! Dipping the potion bottle in the cauldron was also a good touch, it made it feel a bit more realistic and much more fun than just pressing a button. The art was also amazing, and I particularly like the rounded sort of cel shading on the background and menus, as well as the colours on the shading and lighting - it all looks great in the pixel art style. Well done on this game, I loved it! Oh, and my final score was 2039!

Float by Cakestorm 2021-10-05T14:21:37Z

@gibss Thanks! I agree that having some sort of actual number of stalactites left would be good, since the bar at the bottom wasn't too clear. But I'm still glad you liked it!

Float by Cakestorm 2021-10-05T14:22:49Z

@lenan Thank you! The platforming could've been better, yeah - it's one of those thing I told myself I'd do when I had time, and then I ran out of time. But it's good you enjoyed the rest!

Float by Cakestorm 2021-10-11T07:30:09Z

@bountyhat Glad you liked it! I would've loved to add some bonuses to the game - powerups, a point system, something like that - but I ended up running out of time. It's a good idea though!

@clonze Yeah, I would've loved to experiment a bit more with the idea, could've gone some more interesting ways, but it's good to hear you liked it regardless!

@memoryfloater Different biomes are a really good idea actually, now I wish I could go back and add some more! Glad you liked it.

@jaybaus Good to hear the checkpoint placement was alright, I was unsure if it was working well or not! Thanks for the comment!

@730 Thank you! And it's very impressive you found all 3 secrets, I honestly didn't expect anyone to find all of them. If I was cruel I'd say there was a 4th you missed, but there wasn't - well done on finding them all!

@iasonasgts A sound menu would've been the next thing I added if I hadn't been panicking on Monday night to get it uploaded :P. Thanks for saying that you liked it though!

@jessefreeman Thanks! It's definitely something I'd consider; I do have ideas on things to add to make it more complete and interesting.

Oh, Hello? by itsBoats 2021-10-13T08:31:16Z

I love the physics, it makes for some hilarious situations! There's nothing quite like taking your rage out on a fridge by throwing it about 2 miles in the air. Having to find the sweet spot to get perfect signal was also a great idea, and I can definitely relate to the experience. The signal getting stronger as you got nearer was a nice touch; it kept me from just guessing in the dark, and revealing the signal circle made things way easier to figure out, so thank you for that addition. There was so much variety in objects too, which was great, and every level felt unique and looked really nice! Overall great fun, I love physics-based games - and this is no exception! Well done!

Please don't explode ! by Mouf 2021-10-06T07:27:43Z

Great game! I loved how the challenge built up as you kept playing through the game, with more and more visitors and tourists destabilising your artefact with their cameras. The artefact changing colours as it got more unstable was a nice touch as well, it looked pretty and also gave some indication of how close it was to exploding, so I li,ked the visual feedback. And I love how powerful the punch was - that was a really fun mechanic! Great work on this game, I had fun!

Glass Cow Dash by Stalemeat 2021-10-05T19:27:49Z

I like the idea, dashing through a maze whilst avoiding the walls makes for a solid game! All of the collectibles and powerups help make the game more engaging too, and it was all pretty clear and well explained what each of them did and how they affected the game, so good job on communicating that! The little visual elements you added were great too, like your character shaking as you charged up, or the different sound effects when you let go, the particles when you hit a wall, they all made the game more fun. Having a characacter was also really nice, and a little bit of story; it's always good to have context in a game, and it helps add personality too! This was a fun game, so well done on making it! Hope you enjoy the lousy t-shirt you got after making the game ;) !

Lovecrafting by Concker_88 2021-10-05T15:46:16Z

Brilliant game, it was so much fun to mix and match and create my own elder god. I loved how the complexity built up, from managing one bar with one card, to the end where each card was changing 3 different variables and the time was ticking down and it all got a bit hectic. I really liked how you could choose your type of creature too - it wasn't just random, and I liked having that control over my spawn, even if I kept getting unnameable beasts instead of actual elder gods. The art and sound design just helped improve the awesome theme and feel of the game, the mounting music and weather just added to the atmosphere in the perfect way. The compendium was a good addition as well; it was great looking through all the potential creatures and seeing all the effor that went into the visual design. Phenomenal work for a game jam, I loved it!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Time, Commander? by Jesús González 2022-04-06T09:17:29Z

Nice game! I loved the mechanic of rewinding time, it made things much more interesting than they would've been without it, and it was an interesting way of using the theme as well. I liked the puzzle aspect of the game too; it was a lot more methodical and strategic than I first thought, which was great to see. The artstyle also worked well, it was all very readable and the shading was particularly pleasant to look at. Well done!

PLOUF! by mlho7 2022-04-06T08:41:34Z

Fantastic game, it works so well! I love the unique feel of the game; it just felt nice to play and look at, and the gameplay worked weirdly well with the aesthetic. It's hard to describe, but it all just came together really nicely. The little bit of story at the start was great as well, it told me why I was doing what I was doing, and I appreciate the attention to detail where it didn't say the same thing after a restart. Brilliant work, it was a great experience!

STUDY LADY (cookie mix) by PeachTreeOath 2022-04-12T13:52:35Z

Great game, it was definitely a unique idle game - especially in the beginning, I've never really thought an idle game could be fast paced until now. The idea behind the game was also interesting, with the looping through different dimensions, I loved the variety that gave the game, as well as how coherent it all managed to be with that. I loved the art; not only was it great to look at, but it gave the game some great character and personality, which is brilliant to see! Very well done on this game, it was fantastic!

Dungeon Architect by kazuo256 2022-04-05T13:00:33Z

Great game, I loved playing it! The puzzles were really great - having to figure out the best combination of rooms that you could still afford - and it made for some great strategic gameplay. The mechanics were also introduced nicely, which kept the game from getting too confusing, and it was all explained well! I loved the artwork as well, particularly for the characters; I loved how each of them had their own personality! The sound effects for each room were also a good addition, it made it a lot more interesting to watch the adventurers move through the level. I'd love to see this game expanded on, it has a lot of potential with the ideas and content it has right now - well done!

Slime Zone by TheMadPangolin 2022-04-05T15:04:22Z

Great gameplay loop, it was really fun! I loved the destructible environment, and how much control the player had over that, it gave the game some great challenge and strategy. The feedback the game had was also brilliant, I loved all the little effects when the blocks spawned in and were destroyed, it looked great. The graphics in general were very readable, and it all looked cohesive, which was great to see (literally)! As well as that, the music and sound effects fit equally well with the rest of the game, so it all came together very nicely! I had a great time playing this, so good job on making it!

You Will Fall by Yaen 2022-04-06T09:41:22Z

Nice work! The game was easy enough to understand, but had some real challenge to it, especially with all the different distractions and challenges going on. The balance mechanic was done particularly well; it felt very realistic in how it was done, and it felt great to slowly master it. The voice acting was also an impressive feature, particularly for a game jam! I wish it'd insult me a bit less, but I can understand why that's a feature still! It'd definitely be a different game entirely if it was just encouraging me. Overall, it was a solid game, so good job on making it!

Trauma Center (futile medical care edition) by LoicLeGrosFrere 2022-04-05T14:30:33Z

I love how many little features there are in this game, it's great to see all that attention to detail! You can't cause a nuclear incident in most hospital simulators, which is why I love this one. The core gameplay was fun as well, particularly towards the end as the goal shifted from injecting enough syringes to finding a place to inject a new syringe; it helped build challenge and really helped with making the game fit with the theme, that running out of space was inevitable. The artwork worked great, and it was simple and readable whilst still looking nice. I particularly appreciated the lighting when one value got low, it helped clear things up at the start of the game when I wasm't sure what to do. Really fun game overall, I had fun!

Stickman Dam by Sawyer 2022-04-11T16:44:17Z

Cool idea! I liked the take on the theme, and the game itself was fun as well, particularly with how easy it was to learn! I particularly liked the upgrades, they really made the game a lot more fun to play and I'd have loved to see more things like that in the game. The graphics worked well; I liked how the water particles were a good indicator of where the leaks were, it was a great way of communicating that to the player! Great work on this game, well done!

Pellet by Austin Sierra 2022-04-06T11:08:39Z

Nice game! It was a really interesting idea, taking the game of snake and flipping it on its head, and it works surprisingly well! I particularly liked the AI on the snakes, it made things a lot more dynamic and interesting than just having them move about randomly. More and more of them showing up as time went on was a good feature as well, it kept up the challenge and it was great to get them to collide with one another. It's very impressive that all the AI and movement was coded in just a weekend, so congrats on making the game, I had fun!

lose95 by Sulo 2022-04-18T15:24:34Z

Brilliant idea, and it was very well executed, well done! The core gameplay was very solid, it was fun to just click things and the upgrades supported that style of gameplay well - I especially liked the ones which had multiple levels e.g. the trail upgrades, since they gave the game some nice progression from the beginning to the end. Another thing I loved were all the enemy types; there was some great variety in both how many of them there were as well as their mechanics e.g. spawning popups, spawning bullets that go outside of the window etc - it made seeing new enemies much more interesting. It was very readable as well, particularly since the game got pretty fast paced and hectic at times, so great work on getting the graphics to not only look great but communicate things to the player as well! The sound design was also very nice to hear, with everything fitting into the aesthetic of the game well, and those different music tracks for different colours were a great addition too, they really show the effort that went into the game. Great work on this game, it was a joy to play, fantastic work!

Volcano by ABRDs 2022-04-06T11:33:52Z

Brilliant work! I particularly liked the exploration aspect of the game, having to walk around the island looking for things to push into the volcano was fun, especially towards the end when I was getting more and more desperate - that was a great use of the theme! All of the little details that went into the game were great to see as well, like being able to break the columns, or push the signs around, it really shows the effort that went into the game. Using the faces as a measure of time left was a neat feature as well, it was a great way of communicating to the player! I had a lot of fun playing this, good job!

The Great Filter by T C 2022-04-06T09:07:35Z

Really fun game, well done! I love seeing strategy and turn-based games in game jams, and this is no exception. I particularly liked the unique abilities of each ship, and if you expand on this in future it'd be great to see even more factions - maybe they join you as you travel away from the black hole? More things to encounter on the way generally would be great to see, but I still like how much there is, especially as the difficulty ramps up and more and more enemies spawn in! The artwork was great as well, I love the effort that went into it particularly for each of the character sprites. It was very visually interesting; I liked it! Overall, a you've made a really solid game and I had a great time playing, congrats!

RAD by oramun 2022-04-11T17:56:33Z

Great atmosphere, the game comes together very nicely and it's a great experience to play! The idea behind it was great as well, doing your best to rescue survivors despite the inevitable failure, the whole game felt a bit hopeless but it still kept me playing throughout. The environment, graphics and sound design all helped with that theme, and it was fun to just move around in the environment as well - it'd be great to see environmental storytelling with that if you keep working on the game. It was fun playing this, and the game worked very well, good work!

Great game, it kept me playing for a long time! What I particularly liked was how strategic it was; every room was like a little puzzle I had to plan my way through, and a lot of thought went into it. I also liked how powerful a lot of the powerups felt, like full heals or increased attack range, it made collecting them feel more meaningful - it would've been nice if the water bottles scaled with storage, but I can see why that might be a little overpowered! The artstyle was brilliant as well, I loved how simple it was yet how well it worked, and the little line boil effect was a nice addition to that. Really well made game, and it was great fun playing it, well done!

Big Small Defender by Tvorojok 2022-04-06T09:50:11Z

Very fun game, it was great! I loved how the game picked up in pace over time, it was great to see that progression from the start, where I was barely scraping by with resources, to the end where they were scattered across the map and I had hundreds in storage. The upgrades helped with that as well, and they were just right in terms of power - they felt useful to get, but not too overpowered to make things easy, and the variety in them was great to see. I loved the artstyle as well, everything was very readable and I particularly liked the background! The newsreader in the corner was also a nice addition to the game. Overall it was very fun, so great job on making this game!

Fascinating idea, and the main mechanic was a brilliant use of that idea! It was impressive how you got the responses working so well, especially with the Sultan's memory, and I loved how he kept calling me out on my nonesense (how does a dead king marry a giant that just fell on him?). All of the different choices were great to see as well, I never felt limited by them and I never had to repeat anything either, even across playthroughs (unless it was to annoy the sultan). The timer was a good addition as well, it made things a bit more challenging, and the option to adjust the timings was a nice consideration also. Brilliant work on this, it was a great entry, so very well done!

NAP GUARDIAN by nethead 2022-04-12T14:00:25Z

Awesome game, it was so well put together! I loved how polished the game felt, particularly with the graphics, and the game felt fun to play with generally, especially with that movement - with a bit of work, it'd be a really interesting dashing system to use in a combat game! It was great that you could attack whilst moving, attack by dashing, attack by throwing things too, I loved the choice there. The shop was also a great addition, particularly with upgrading attack speed; it looked like it gave the most tangible benefit over the other two upgrades, so it'd be great to see more feedback for upgrading them, even if it's jsut visual. I could still tell they made a difference in game though, so they still worked! Really fun game, and it was especially well designed - great work!

Department Of Demise by Crychair 2022-04-05T16:37:04Z

I love how the difficulty ramped up in this game, how quickly it got chaotic and I had to start hoping that I got everything right, it managed that really well! It works with the simple gameplay too, which I liked, and it was easy to get the hang of things after a bit. All the polish and love that went into the game shows too, with the death messages, voice acting, all the decor in the background, it made the game feel complete! The voiced tutorial was a good introduction to the mechanics as well, it helped clear up some confusion from the written instructions before. Overall, this was a really solid game, so good work on it!

@dan-livings Definitely agree, more mechanics would've been a great addition to the game, and the game does go a bit too quickly to feel enjoyable. I'll definitely consider expanding on the mechanics in future!

@loiclegrosfrere That's an odd bug, it came up a few times in development but I'd thought I'd fixed it - sorry that I didn't fix it well enough! I'm glad you had fun though, thank you!

@gravityflip Thank you! I'm glad you figured out the game in the end; I wanted to strike a balance between explaining everything to the player and not having massive walls of tutorial text, so it's good to hear you figured things out eventually.

@yaen I can understand why, the game was pretty rough when it came to having an impact on the ecosystem, particularly since there's so little to do to affect it - I would've loved to add more to that, like adding new building mechanics, limiting plant growth etc., so I'll keep that in mind going forward! Thank you for the feedback!

Hydroponica by Cakestorm 2022-04-18T14:09:58Z

@oramun The arrows are a good idea! I agree I should've put something in to communicate that better to the player.

@suchista Huh, I didn't realise the itch background would've been a problem - sorry about that! But I'm glad you liked the visuals, and thank you for the feedback!

@tornadopiggie I agree on the clicking part, it's one of those things that was quickly and roughly implemented at the start that I never got around to polishing, it definitely could've been more fun!

@elias-newton I like the gentle animation idea, that'd really work with the feel of the game!

@ycb21 Yeah, pacing is an issue with the end product; considering the chill music and space atmosphere there sure is a lot of clicking and panicking. I'm glad you liked the rest though, thank you!

@peachtreeoath Yeah, at times I was thinking of it as an idle game too, and if I had more time I was planning to bring it more in that direction! Similarly with the plant growth, I wanted to give it that sort of exponential feel a lot of idle games have, so it's a shame it all collapses after a while. It's good to hear that you liked the game, though, and thank you for the thorough look into the design!

CryptoHunk Market Platform by jabsatz 2022-04-06T11:06:42Z

Great game, it was an immersive simulator! I really liked how simple it was, yet complex at the same time; it was easy enough to invest my money and like tweets, but I imagine there was a lot more calculation going on under the hood which led to some nice volatility in gameplay. The twitter feed was a great addition as well, I loved all the dialogue and interactions between accounts (especially when I disliked something and was mobbed by about a dozen people), and the profile pictures were (worryingly) accurate too. It was a great experience playing the market like this, so nice work on getting the game made!

The Last Stand by Idontgetit1 2022-04-06T11:13:00Z

This was a really fun game, I particularly loved the progression of it, well done! Being able to upgrade everything and slowly get more powerful was great, and I loved the turret upgrades that gave more bullets especially, so I'd love to see more interesting upgrades like that. It was great fun shooting down waves and waves of enemies too, especially since they increased in number so quickly - it felt great to shoot them all down. There was also a lot of strategy - upgrade the iron machine, or the turrets? - which added a lot of depth to the gameplay. Well done on making such a fun game!

The Last Day With You by FrostG4 2022-04-06T10:52:35Z

Well done on making this game, it was interesting! It worked really well with the theme, and I liked the fact there was some story behind it. It'd be great to see that expanded upon; there's a lot of potential to tell even more story! The artwork was nice too. Good work on making this game!

Venting Machine by EmberUshi 2022-04-06T11:21:51Z

Nice work! The game was simple, but it still worked very well, and it was great fun to play over and over to get the highest score possible. It was very easy to figure out what to do as well, so good work on communicating the controls and gameplay to the player. Artstyle-wise, I loved how each character looked, and how distinct each one was as well; they all had their own personalities, which was great to see, and it's particularly impressive considering the almost-CGA palette, so well done!

Kinderkaos by Gravityflip 2022-04-06T08:51:03Z

Haha, this was great! I really liked the idea of the game, having to manage an unruly group of toddlers, and it definitely was chaotic. The fact that they spread out over time was great for challenge; at first I thought I was being clever keeping them all in the same room, until I had to leave and they all spread out like some sort of gas, it was brilliant to watch! The artwork and music fit very well with the game too, they worked very nicely with the kindergarten theme. I had a lot of fun with this game, so great job on making it!

Deloop by Lecloow7 2022-04-06T08:27:01Z

Nice game! The screen slowly being covered up was a really neat mechanic, I liked how it added tension and pressure to the game. The variety in enemies was also nice to see, I'd love to see more of them with different mechanics as well! And I liked the music as well; it fit great with the atmosphere of the game. Well done on making this!

Lights Out by Dan Livings 2022-04-06T11:28:26Z

I love the idea, and it fits really well with the minimalistic design; it's simple, but works really well as a core gameplay loop. My favourite part of the gameplay was trying to cover as much area as possible, rather than maximising score - if you work on the game in future, it might be nice to expand on that idea (maybe each tile supports the surrounding ones, like some pseduo-game-of-life?) Even without that, though, it was addictive to play, the game itself is very solid, and I had fun - well done on making it!
