The gameplay was maybe too much simple, and it was hard to realize what to do. Otherwise, I just put 4.5 and 5 for the art and mood because it is super clean. For a 72 hours game it is very very clean and homogen. Hope to see nice game from you in the future.
The graphics are just insane, don't know how did you do that in 3 days, but gg guys.
Can you please provide HTML5 or macOS version?
Visuals are AMAZING! And yes the soundtrack is great too! It has a nice idea but controls are kinda wonky and the cutscene which plays everytime you fail your mission is somewhat annyoing
Amazing Graphics, really well done. Clean and neat.
I love the concept, I love the art, and the music is great. The ladder gets me stuck in the floor, so I just jump off of it. I do seem to just be able to set speed three and make a sandwich, though. Does the explosion get faster later? It seems 3 is a safe steady-state.
How to control the ship? when I am inside it the explosion appear so quickly that I can't figure out what to do :( pressing D dosen't push the ship forward. I like the mood and style. Can you give me some tips? I'd like to rate the game. Thank you
Thank you so much guys♥♥♥, all bugfixes will be made soon, now we need to get some sleep.
The art style and visuals are great, if a little lacking on the animations side. I'm not sure if this is an issue on my side but i didn't get any sound effects so it's missing important feedbacks during the game i think.
My biggest gripe with the gameplay is that it's very difficult to play on a non US keyboard layout (which don't have WASD for movement) and lack of gamepad support.
PS: I think you forgot to flag your download as "windows executable" on itch, making it impossible to download through the itch desktop app (https://itch.io/app).
Wow graphics are amazing, more polished than some games that take months to do. I like the music but not the footstep sound effect. The gameplay is very simple and there is barely a game to it, but it fits the theme well. Again amazing art best i've seen so far.
So, I wanted to let you know what I did get a virus warning from your game and want to let that be known from the start. May be a false positive, but it might be worth it for you to check your files. With that out of the way, I think your graphics in this competition are way better than many of the games I have played so far. They have a very awesome feel and almost seem like they would be better suited for a full fledged sidescroller game. It would have been nice to see a climbing animation to accompany the awesome walk animation, but considering the level of quality of the graphics, that's the only nitpick I can see. As for the gameplay, once I learned how to actually control the ship and found out it wasn't just a matter of holding D to speed up and I actually had to tap it a few times, I actually completed the game in one go without needing to do any of the other tasks in the description. Did I ignore something?
Sorry this game does not work for me I just checked I also got a virus warning and the file removed.
@parttimeindie
@sir-onionknight
just fixed that annoying "virus" issue, should be ok now !
Tha art is awesome! i didn't get what the game was at firts, but it took me a few moments to understand. I really like the concept.
I really liked the game, pixel art is amazing, the music is also very good, everything looks solid to me in general! I confess that I had a bit of difficulty understanding the mechanics of the game, but that's my fault. No doubt this would be a game I would buy, congratulations to the entire team involved!
Really love the art and sound. The mood was really good too.
The art was amazing, the mood was really good too and even the sound was great, booming music. I never lasted longer than about 20 seconds though, maybe I just don't understand the game. I'd have kept trying more if it wasn't for the really long intro that you have to go through every time. I think a quick retry would go a long way to help figure out just how the game is supposed to work.
Absolutely stunning visuals. Wish you could restart the attempt a bit quicker, especially when you are really really dumb (like me).
I played this on my stream, here's the VOD Link if you are interested: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1168815132
It took be a good few tries to undertand how to get the ship to work, and then a handful of tries before I could beat the game. I kept getting stuck on the bottom of the ladder. Apart from that, fabulous game, great job!
The game looks great and music is also very nice, but I would have liked to get some more info on what should be done or what is wrong with the ship. Also starting new run takes too long time to keep me engaged for too many tries. Maybe the intro part could happen once and next time you could skip to the starting engines part so you could go on faster in trial and error.
Too bad because otherwise this game feels polished (apart from missing a climbing animation).
Really nice pixel art! Would have been nice if climbing the ladder played a climbing animation and more of the actions had contextual sounds, but not the end of the world. My biggest recommendation would be to offer more of an introduction as the gameplay isn't very obvious. Otherwise not bad.
Haha! I've made a similar game for one of the previous LD jams, but your is cooler.
Visually, the game is super clean! I managed to break it where I got to the top of the first ladder and it kicked me off of the ladder before the hatch closed, so I was stuck in the reactor space and had to reload.
Based on the reviews, it seems like this has been updated a few times? It would be great to see a release log so we can see what's changed from the initial deadline.
On the web version I fell off the ladder (as I was reaching the top) that leads to the ship on my first and second play, leaving me stuck on the initial building floor with no way to start climbing again. Switched to the Windows version and didn't have that problem. Also found it weird that I bounced off the warp gate my first time reaching it. Not sure if that's intentional, but I saw no game explanation for why it happened (maybe you're required to be going a minimum speed or something). The mechanics were fun, but the 3rd battery unit that can shut off the speed of the ship is pretty dangerous with how randomly unstable it can be. My first time flying the ship it fell out, so I reinstalled it, and as soon as I reset the speed from the bridge it fell out again so I just died right out of the gate. Maybe some kind of clearer indication of when the batteries can fall out might be helpful, like a loosening clamp or something (If there already was, I couldn't determine it). Overall, really cool entry. Nice graphics, audio, and engaging gameplay.
Actually found it a bit tricky, but great mood and gorgous graphics!
Visually it is wonderful, the pixel art is great and the animations very fluid (fantastic detail of the helmet). The mechanics are entertaining. Great job.
Amazing game
The game is stunning, i'm amazed you managed to pull this off in only 3 days ! Gameplay wise, it is very solid, it's fun and well balanced ! Good job ! I think it lacks maybe of a ending screen but it's alright ! Congratulations
This looks amazing! I have some issues with the gameplay though. The batteries seem to fall out way too often, sometimes I think I couldn't even get the game started properly because the battery fell out and before I can get back to the cockpit its game over. Or I go to put the battery back, go back to the cockpit and another battery has fallen out. It would be nice if there was a smarter system managing the accidents to make sure the game was solvable.
But man this pixel art is amazing!
Graphics are amazing, sound and music blends with it and creates a very unique mood, very impressive for 72 hours of work. Gameplay could gain a little more love as is somewhat limited, still it's surely one of the top games in LD49. Congrats to the team.
What a surprise when I saw @lazerka on the art, that's soo gorgeous for a jam game, like I thought I was launching an indie platformer pixel-like game. Also animations were super smooth, the overall give a nice ambience and mood ! Gameplay idea is simple but effective, yet too simple maybe when you get used to it, but I don't think there is much replayability to it so it's okay. Super smooth entry, especially art, GG guys !
great game but a little hard, good graphics, animations and mechanics
Awesome game, I loved the idea! It was tense having to manage the shuttle from falling apart, especially when I was racing to the cockpit to get away from the explosion - it got pretty frantic! It was really simple to understand too, which was nice - having to use only E for everything (and a & d) made things easier to figure out, which was nice. The art was really great - in particular I liked the background, which managed to look beautiful without getting in the way of the foreground, and the whole thing worked very well as an artstyle. The way objects were highlighted when you could interact was a good touch; it made things clearer without needing any text or anything, it was good visual communication! Overall a fun little game, I'd love to see it expanded upon - very well done!
Cakestorm (@cakestorm) Thank you for your opinion!
Dreamerflow (@dreamerflow) Thank you! it's a kind of challenge)
This game is peeeeeeeeeeeeerfect!!! Will definitely follow your work to see if you are going to upgrade it or release more games!
Very cool. I liked it a lot! Good Job!
Great game! Love the games where you have to multitask and manage multiple systems. Looks great, is easy to understand how to play, and has some replay value.
