@pvp @majorleegay Thank you !
Thank you for all the comments :)
Super cute game with really well polished graphics, sounds and music !
First of all, the overall of the game is well polished. That aethetic graphic style is beautiful, and I don't feel that something was left out visually. The control of the fish have a nice gamefeel and is satisfying, despite the high sensitivity, but you get used to it. I also think the speed is maybe little high too, you can't really appreciate or undertsand your environment if you just press down the forward button, but it's really nitpicking. An impressive work and amount of features for a jam, shout out to all the cinematic thingies like the camera moving around the fish, that cinematic scene, I think all this really bring that funny mood to the game ! Well done !
Very addictive game, the right amount of frustration but you get there at some point !
It was kinda hard (at least for me) to understand how to put down the skulls into the graves, and also the dirt placement management is kinda inaccurrate sometimes. Besides, the game is astonishingly beautiful for a jam, you guys have done an incredible work for sure !
I managed to softlock myself by a turret pushing infinitely the grapple :( besides the concept and the physics have a potential to develop more mechanics to it !
Very cool little point'n click ! Nice horror vibes that reminds me a lot "Neverending nightmare"
Simple but very effective and addictive ! The soundtrack is dope
Really nice PSX vibe, and the music fits perfectly with the horror atmosphere ! Nice jam entry !
Thanks a lot @pvp ! Who know, there will be maybe a third Sewer's plague ;)
@olddadou @kel @100th-coin thanks a lot !
@MadR @pierre-cilluffo @kokonaught @pedonho Thanks, that's really appreciated ! :D
@ceejap yes you have to get used a little to the controls for not being invaded, we maybe set too many enemies though, thanks a lot ! @okolyr Sorry for the difficulty level, it's kinda hard to set a good experience for everyone, otherwise really cool if you appreciated the game though ! :) @tom-robson Thanks a lot, that's exactly what made the team excited and motivated for this jam ! We'll maybe make a sequel again in the future, who knows :D
@theapplecake @martiniano-marelli it needs a bit of practice to getting used but yes, this problem is completely legitimate. We thought a lot about the speed and that was a stat that changed a lot during the making. We have to reconsider some of these variables for sure. Otherwise glad that you liked the artstyle, thanks a lot for your feedback ! @m11 Thank you very much !
@matejag Thanks for your feedback, really glad that you tried your best to beat the game, and also that you liked it ! :) It's not showed but you just have to press escape in the credits oops @sadsmile Pretty proud of the idea indeed, thanks a lot ! :D
@bogard That's very gratifying to know that ! Really glad that you liked the game that much :D @panzershrek @filgru Many thanks !
@mlkvr @yaen @dominium11 @rubixnoob13 @Yaen Thanks a lot for your kind words and consistent feedbacks, we're really glad that the game is enjoyed despite some flaws ! I have nothing more to say that what @llaumegui said above !
@rubixnoob13 I don't really have particular pointer, because it's the kind of thing you build in years and you don't really notice it. I don't know what's worth this advice is, but if I have to give an important advice that you'll see everywhere is to always look at references before drawing, it help you visualize what you're aiming for and see what have been already done. From there, by observing your references you'll have to bring your personal sensitivity to it, your idea.
@kaappis @megalukes @tom-ruxley Thanks a lot, we're happy to see that the game is liked that much, it's really gratifying :D
The movement felt pretty nice and the dash too, maybe it lacks of utility in the levels, I found that using the dash in combat was not really necessary except for jumping above the holes. I found the enemies were not agressive enough and does not deal much damage, compard with the number of hearts they drops. The sound part is nice, I just think that the blood sound is a bit unappropriate maybe (sounds like squeezing a bottle of ketchup) Besides all that, the visuals is great and cohesive, the overall ambience is pretty nice !
Nice game ! The little intro and end are a bonus for game jam like these, you really polished the visual aspect and it's very enjoyable to have a well designed little context, as simple as it is. The mechanic is fun and well balanced, the environments mechanics too and fits well together in a coherent and clear level design. If there was just one problem to highlight, is that when you fall, the camera speed is'nt enough to contains the character in the middle of the screen, making aiming downwards a little difficult, as well to see what's under you, but it doesn't bother too much.
Great work on this, very enjoyable !
Okay I thinks it's the most incredible amount of content I've ever seen for a jam, and done just by one person.. but take care of yourself and maybe don't overdo it the next jams ! Besides very addictive games, the little context and lore are sufficient to be invested in, and the mechanic of finding more and more ores of different types by going deeper really is neat (what a relief when I found my first ores that gaves me more than 1). There's a very good vibe of horror and loneliness with theses PSX graphics, and the whales really are scary. Hats off, this game is definitely incredible.
What a lovely and perfect entry. From now after playing it, the games seems flawless for me : intuitive gameplay that don't need a tutorial, an original gameplay which stick so well with theme and graphics, and with it you managed to add a well-balanced upgrading system where each upgrade feel useful for your progression. Congratulation man, this game is 5/5 for me !
Nice mechanics !
Very nice entry, I like the way you interpreted it ! I'm fond of non-conventional visual style so it was very interesting and appreciable. It must have been fun to play with all the shaders, some of them were soothing to look at (especially the wavy ones). That's a little thing but I also like the way you played with this simple level design solution, that was clever. Sometimes it doesn't take much to create an immersive atmosphere and this was the case - Nice entry !
Nice little experience and good take on this theme ! Nice replayability for all type of challenges, reach as fast as possible the end of grind and gather a maximum people (or two at once). Simple but effective gameplay loop !
Cute and very polished art for a jam, same for sounds ! I think the game lacks of balance particularly on the "Jump" level that was nearly impossible to do, you just have to pray for the spawn spots of these damn bunnies to be near you, otherwise you're dead when they begin jumping while also cleaning the rocks. But that's just tatting, that's a really good entry for a jam !
Wow, it's actually pretty well balanced for a game based on physics, the bus was nicely handled, and enemies and luggages spawns were just enough for a challenging but fair difficulty. Art is clear and gameplay too, and wow you did a boss with this size... surprising for a jam ! Nicely done !
Nice game ! Gameplay loop is simple yet very fun, replayability is welcome, and art is smooth for that type of game. I like the way you added the oxygen inside one type of box in your revisited version, that add a lots more pressure and hurry (in a good way !). A detail but the music you also added fits well ! Very nice entry, though there is a lack of connection with the theme but that's okay !
What a surprise when I saw @lazerka on the art, that's soo gorgeous for a jam game, like I thought I was launching an indie platformer pixel-like game. Also animations were super smooth, the overall give a nice ambience and mood ! Gameplay idea is simple but effective, yet too simple maybe when you get used to it, but I don't think there is much replayability to it so it's okay. Super smooth entry, especially art, GG guys !
2:03 ! Super addictive and fun game ! Worthy of a mini-game like Warioware honestly. Gameplay is super simple and clear, graphics are adequate for what it is, and the sounds adds a humor touch that kept me laughing all along ! βSuper cool and smart entry !
Original entry for this theme, concept is super cool ! Placing your parts on your ship is quite nicely made for a jam, however sometimes you have to pixel perfect it but that's okay. Nothing special to say about art and sound, they fit well with the global mood of the game. Nice entry !
Really cute and chill ambience ! I found the room with the plants singing very relaxing :) And art reminds of a child illustration book !
Nice entry for this theme ! Gameplay is simple but very effective, and replayability is nice too. I don't know how you managed to have this amount of art in the game, it's really impressive for a jam !
Nice game ! First of all the graphics are very interesting with these painted textures on lowpoly, that's neat. The ambiance was here but a little disappointed that the music loop is too short(not that I'm saying the music itself is bad). Gameplay is sure kind of releasing, but rapidly repetitive at least for me. There is upgrades to add a little twist and its give an "unleashing" feel that is really cool, but sadly leads to an end where you just shoot and wait. But that's it, the game already gives me some good feelings while playing it and that's very cool. Clean entry !
Good twist of a katamari game !
What a nice take on this theme. Idea is original as well as gameplay, art is gorgeous for what it is, and even if the music was already made up, you've choosen so weel and it fit so nicely with the global atmosphere. You managed to absorb me during my playtime, that game was so involving. Just one word : Bravo !
Impressive amount of work for a jam, especially the level design ! too bad that I lost myself in the second level though... But overall graphics are really neat (what an explosion !) and musics too (although the music stops playing in the middle of the 2nd level) ! I think what could have improved navigation in the map is objectives indicator even if it's straightforward objectives (pushing buttons) but I reached a point where I just got stuck in a dead end beacause of closed door, and I just wouldn't tell where the buttons where to open it. It would also have been nice to add a special shader when you point your cursor towards interactive objects. Another little cons I found when playing : - No indicator when you're losing health - Not a lot of features that are motion sickness-friendly like a little bobbing effects on camera, or a swinging on your weapon - This last one is really rambling, but I found the "grip effect" of your character when you're starting moving (what makes it have an little acceleration) is kind of awkward, I would've make it run at constant speed from the start for a fast-paced game like this. - And yeah, as a lot said there's no clear link to the theme but I know game jams can just be an excuse to make a game.
Anyway, all of these comments are not very important because I know it's a jam, you really did a good job on this one !
Thanks all for your positives feedbacks on the game ! Sure we are aware of all the litte clanky things, as @llaumegui said the game has already got some updates and fixes and maybe there will be more in the future for those who really enjoyed it :)
@nicf Thanks a lot ! The artstyle was kind of staying in our comfort zone by making a retro PSX style like this, we already made a jam with this style, but sure we're satisfied with the result !
Wow, what an entry ! Were you alone for making it ? Because the amount of content is insane for a single person. And on top of that you made a very fun game ! Really appreciated the long experience, what I really loved with your game is effort on level design, and littles adds you give all along to your mechanics, that was sooo much appreciated ! And none of them makes the game too repetitive, too easy or too hard, that's well balanced. Art is sufficient for what it is, it works. Also musics was so involving, all of these created a vibe that reminded a lot of Hotline Miami. I played your two versions, and adds you made on the post-jam version makes the game better and better, always more (very simple pattern boss but it works so well with mechanics and makes it an hard but balanced fight !). You were smart to always add elements that are simple to operate with. In short, a fun and clever entry, BRAVO !
What really set me in the game is the music, I don't know why but I found it fitting well! Cool amount of mini-games, you kept minimum of controls for all of them and that's a nice thing ! Cool jam game.
Nice little game ! Art style and sounds are basics and clear but are enough and fits well. Just wish there was more levels, the introduced mechanics have a lot of potential for more !
Nice aesthetic, don't know if you've done the music but it's cool. The game could really have a nice atmosphere with more polish, like less floaty physics and let the game be more reactive and energic. Ah and actually you can cross the river just by swimming in it ahah
