fun game! the art and sound design are so good and the game is polished it already feels like a full release! I thought the game was hard at first but then halfway through I remembered about the time slow after going through half the game without it :face_palm:

torcado 2021-04-27 02:25

great atmosphere, and intro/ending cutscenes! not super common for LD. art is beautiful, sounds and music are very pleasing. everything is so well put together.

also those reflection walls, what a clever mechanic! adds a whole layer of complexity to your movements and strategy from something so simple. my two pieces of feedback: 1. the sides of the reflection walls can still reflect, even if you just hit the corner on the ground. caused a few deaths that felt unfair when im aiming at the ground away from me 2. i think the feedback for reaching the exit should be more pronounced. maybe instead of animating landing then jumping back, just have it suck the player in immediately

Other than that, super lovely game! great work :)

cinderblade 2021-04-27 02:35

flappy birds in reverse platformer style, i dig it!

goodgamesjames 2021-04-27 05:26

I had a ton of fun playing with this movement mechanic. The spikes and backgrounds looked nice. Juicy animations (though that's mostly the camera, I think). The spikes art particular nasty looking (nice job).

It was hard to see the reflective surfaces, so it'd be nice if those were more different from the regular sides (maybe a different color?)

I appreciated the 'bullet-time' ability and was using it throughout the game, though I expected to work slightly different (stays on while holding, but can't shoot while its on), so it took awhile to really understand it .

erkanec 2021-04-27 07:30

Beutiful game.

pune007 2021-04-27 10:18

You sure you didn't post a GMTK game. Just kidding

I love shoot-to-move games a lot. First of all juice, very fun to just shoot around. Second, the level design is brilliant. The art and sound just make it better.

Also, the force you get from the gun doesn't feel floaty or heavy which makes jumping using the gun feel very very nice

le-slo 2021-04-27 11:11

Ultra cool looking and super neat music, this is a very carefully crafted and polished game. I completely forgot to use the rmb ability until I went to write a comment, but I went back and it was definitely helpful for some parts, I wished the tutorial that presents it forces the player to internalize it better. Apart from that I did feel the player was a bit on the heavy side (momentum can go crazy, and imagine without the rmb power), and that the spike collisions were a bit too big, falling into the unfair side instead of "wow, I ALMOST died". I also had some problems to get away from the wall when sliding it, specially in narrow corridors, where I didn't want too much force. Very cool that you are presenting mechanics bit by bit, and particularly the reflection wall mechanics feels very refreshing and unique for these type of games. Great work!

tricky-fat-cat 2021-04-27 15:19

Tiny fun game with a mechanics about which I have thought for many times. It feel and looks superb. Great job.

bernard-bumblebutt 2021-04-27 15:53

Very juicy! I liked the mechanics and the art style. Did i mention the JUICE?

pedonho 2021-04-27 17:59

Very fun and beautiful art <3

randomhuman 2021-04-27 19:38

Love it,really well executed concept. I especially like the little intro. I kinda want the soundtrack

cekitian 2021-04-27 19:44

Fun game! This game is really hard, but hey I completely understand it, I also make hard games haha. But now for real, the art is very nice the animations are sleek. The first thing the game reminded me of when I opened it was nuclear throne because of the aspect ratio, so it brought back some good memories(also because of the difficulty)! Great job!

fingamer 2021-04-27 19:56

Very fun game!

The mechanic for movement is clever and so fun. The pixel art is fantastic and the little cutscenes are cool! The music's also great.

Had a blast with this one even though it was quite challenging at times. But good challenge is good :D.

Great job!

bokonon 2021-04-27 20:04

This was a really fun entry. The main mechanic was very satisfying and new wrinkles were introduced at a good pace which kept the level design fresh and interesting.

So much polish and juice went into this, it's pretty remarkable. The opening cutscenes were fantastic and the game ~feels~ great to play. The sfx & music are also super satisfying

My only criticism is that the "level end" felt a little strange where you could pass through the bubble only to get sucked in when you land within a certain radius.

Really loved this entry though, nice work, all!

wampy 2021-04-27 23:11

yeah ! strong game, very fun !

retrospecter 2021-04-28 01:54

This was soooo good! The art and music that builds up over time really set the mood well. The mechanics were simple and it let you explore it quiet a bit. One thing that wasn't conveyed super clear right away was how bullet bouncing works (what walls do they bounce off of, how many times they bounce, and that they can kill you), but over time I figured it out.

daniel-alhadeff 2021-04-28 01:59

This is really well polished. Celeste vibes, tight controls, great difficulty curve.

I always try to leave some sort of constructive criticism. Not really sure what to say here - amazing job!

publicidadeba 2021-04-28 02:13

Damn. From the game logo to the level design. Everything is so damn elegant. As the dude above stated, the Celeste vibes are strong on this one, but it has it's own twist. I think you guys should give it a go and make a full game out of this. Well done.

lootgrounds 2021-04-28 08:34

Hard to believe so much playable time was delivered for a jam game. One thing, concentration doesn't come into play during first dozen of levels so I end up using only blasting and totally forgot about other ability when it needed.

purplealien 2021-04-28 13:48

I LOVE the comic style on the intro xD Also, great job on controls and game feel, very nice polish! :D

sand-gardeners 2021-04-28 17:08

Cute game, loved the idea of being aple to play with the mouse only! Well done!

microchasm 2021-04-28 19:31

I really liked this one. It has a lot of the elements that I want in an LD game-- nice sound effects, an effect when you touch the ground and one when you leave it, simple pleasing graphics, and somewhat challenging gameplay wrapped around a forgiving respawn system. The idea is cute and the story is told through simple but really pretty and effective images. Nice mechanics unveiled slowly over time. Kind of Downwell meets Celeste. The movement is very satisfying. One of my favorite games so far for sure.

joedev 2021-04-29 00:08

This is a very fun take on the classic 'shoot to move' genre, and a good use of the theme. Every time I thought 'it *must* be getting close to the end now, there's been so much already' there was another mechanic or more levels - it was a good surprise! Was very impressed at the amount of levels you managed you get into this during the timeframe.

Similarly very impressed with the awesome little cutscenes at the start/end, very cute and evocative. Good job!

bogard 2021-04-29 00:58

It is impressive this game is in a Jam of only 72 hours, the quality is very good, the gameplay is fun, the art is beautiful, the music is very pleasant, a little difficult at first, but after a few deaths, you get the way and start having fun. congratulations to the team

waltsontanaka 2021-04-29 04:14

Wow. Just wow. Didn't get to the end yet (stuck at the one full of reflective walls with 3 checkpoints), but had to say already: really great job. Fantastic idea, perfect art style, and really cool music and effects, really impressed. Three points I would perhaps change: more variations for the shot sound (since it really is the one important sound on the game, and you will hear it A LOT), maybe more variations on the music (I was already thinking "oh, the music could change" and then it changed when I passed through the stage and wen "niiiiice), and excluding the pause button because you can click it too easily when aiming through the screen (I even downloaded the game because playing on the browser was not cutting it). But really, amazing job, congratulations on the game!

pnkvrt 2021-04-29 10:06

Great game! Simple mechanic that can be expanded on a ton. Really good level design. Loved the cutscene in the beginning. Great work!

pierre-morreel 2021-04-29 12:12

Nice game ! The little intro and end are a bonus for game jam like these, you really polished the visual aspect and it's very enjoyable to have a well designed little context, as simple as it is. The mechanic is fun and well balanced, the environments mechanics too and fits well together in a coherent and clear level design. If there was just one problem to highlight, is that when you fall, the camera speed is'nt enough to contains the character in the middle of the screen, making aiming downwards a little difficult, as well to see what's under you, but it doesn't bother too much.

Great work on this, very enjoyable !

weirdybeardyman 2021-04-29 12:15

Wow beautiful. Amazing art, satisfying SFX and mechanics, perfect difficulty and level design, with great introduction of new mechanics. It was a joy to play, I will definitely be playing again.

weirdybeardyman 2021-04-29 12:16

Oh yeah and I love the way the helmet pings off when you die.

pixel-lifetime 2021-04-29 20:57

Brilliant execution.

I couldn't complete full metal level, though, I haven't tried like too many times, probably 8.

• I wish window was bigger, at least covered in black in the background because sometimes I would click off the window and die.

• I forgot to use right mouse button after 1 level, it needs more levels where it is impossible to win them without it, right after it is introduced.

• It has elements that show "deeper and deeper", it doesn't necessary should be in the down direction I understand, it fits the theme, but gameplay isn't built around it, though, in my game I totally didn't care about a theme, just giving feedback in case you were.

• Graphics are awesome.

• I like the ability to slide on walls.

• Moving background makes it feel much more alive and interesting.

• Nice that you have chromatic on right mouse button.

• I wanted to travel to another level faster, kind of like speed running.

• Ability to pause should be offscreen just in case anyone clicks on it accidentally.

uppitydonkey57 2021-04-29 23:55

This game is amazing. I don't think it really fits the theme but it's so good. please make it into a full game.

badpiggy 2021-04-30 09:09

Really great use of mechanics. I love the simplicity of it all and the art was fantastic. The levels were beautifully designed and I'm surprised you guys were able to make this number of them. Things did get a little frustrating later on though ( Especially the levels where your bullets reflect lol ), every level never felt impossible though which is a good balance. Wall sliding was also extremely helpful lol. Really great job on this

itooh 2021-05-02 19:16

Really fun mechanic! It gives incredibly good sensations, and the level-design is just difficult enough to be satisfying. Although I'm not sure I managed to handle the flip properly. Most of the time it activates too late, or I have still to much momentum to avoid an obstacle. Maybe it's me who's not fast enough though. The game was still a blast to play. And on top of that it has great visuals and sounds, with a lot of neat polishing! Impressive work.

strega 2021-05-03 03:55

Really nice, polished game! Clever usage of the gun mechanic and nice puzzle designs. The art was really well done and juicy! The audio was spot on. I mainly played the web version and really wished the window could be bigger, so many times I messed up because I clicked outside of the play area. Maybe I'll try the download version later~

justcamh 2021-05-03 10:18

What a great game, team! The art was brilliant, mechanics were great and wow, comic style cutscenes? Noice. The metal mechanic was a bit unpredictable, especially on that one level where you chained a bunch together with buttons. But otherwise levels were fun and I definitely wanted to go faster than I did. Awesome game!

pestodesign 2021-05-07 17:22

Amazing stuff! One of the best games in this LD!

liero116 2021-05-08 03:59

I really enjoyed this a lot. I've played similar games to this, but still found this to be executed very well. If I had a tiny thing to say is the destructable blocks might take a couple hits too many, but that's a pretty nit picky remark to be honest.

tanis 2021-05-08 18:24

Solid game. Super nice art and cool music! Well done!

noeloskar 2021-05-08 22:18

Really solid, my biggest issue would be that when you touch the level finish, there's a slight lag to bubble grabbing you

felo07 2021-05-10 02:26

Awesome game, I loved the mechanics, music, sound effects, the art, cutscenes, level design(although the stage which the bullet reflects on the floor should be the last one - WAS REALLY REALLY HARD) amazing game, I would buy on steam for sure, keep it up with the game! I finished the game tho. unknown.png

Is this an easter egg? wth flor

euler-moises 2021-05-10 02:44

Delicious game to play. I made a point of going to the end. Very interesting mechanics, very polished art and music that concludes everything very well. The walls that reflect the shot made me very angry, but it was a very well thought out obstacle. An excellent game for Speed Run championships.

Congratulations to the whole team.

louhol 2021-05-10 15:07

Really good designed environment. The artstyle and music fit very well together. I enjoyed your game. Well done!

asdehielo 2021-05-10 18:13

Very cool game, great art and sound design. The mechanic feels good and is really well executed, having both the walls and the flip to slow you down.

Fantastic job!

andy593 2021-05-10 19:15

This rules, I can't think of any criticisms other than maybe some way to prevent trapping yourself in a mirrored corner. I'd pay money for this, honestly!

alex-davies 2021-05-13 18:08

An incredible amount of polish for a game made in 72 hours! It's not the first time I've seen a game with this concept, but this is by far the best execution of it.

franklins-ghost 2021-05-16 11:46

This was fantastic, loved the art style and colour choice thought it all worked so well together. The movement mechanic was difficult to master at the start but the more I played and got used to it the easier it became and allowed really fast navigation which was great fun to shoot around the screen.

jordan-ottesen 2021-05-17 07:41

Absolutely brilliant.Screen Shot 2021-05-17 at 12.37.42 AM.png
