LD39 — Running out of Power

Defend Home: Mars by sgt3v 2017-07-31T05:06:30Z

That was pretty neat! The screenshots reminded me of Osiris: New Dawn. I saw that the buildings had doors, but I wasn't sure if I could open them. What threw me off the most was getting hit from the side or behind by the giant ants. I didn't realize I was taking damage until I noticed my health counter go down.

Congratulations! For a first time dive into a Compo, you did really well :)

MotherBoard by nikrt 2017-08-03T04:51:58Z

Fun concept and nice level design. I ctrl+alt+deleted the first enemy and went flying up to walk on top of the screen! I feel like the controls would feel more tight if WASD moved the character based on the camera's forward direction rather than the character's

Pylon Defense by Doc ill 2017-08-03T05:11:16Z

Lots of fun, I made several attempts to optimize my build. As a fan of tower defense games, you nailed the bare bones. Many Unity Devs forget to make a button that has Application.Quit(). The only way out of fullscreen is to alt+F4 or alt tab out of it.

Enceladus Explorer by Faulkin 2017-08-03T05:44:19Z

Nice simulation. The vessel's animation is well done. I had to play it on Fast mode to get good frame rate on my laptop. Is your ice cave broken up into small meshes? Unity's default occlusion culling does not play well with large objects.

It was fun to go down as far as I pssibly go (ran into 2 or 3 dead ends), But it was more fun going from bottom back to the top. I left behind some green orbs to help me return home!

Kinesis - 3D Flight Obstacle Course by TomPendergrass 2017-08-01T03:34:51Z

This is after the Compo submission, but I made a WebGL build of the game here, for those without Windows. It's an exact replica! http://www.cheesegames.net/games/1404/index.php?gameDataId=1404

Kinesis - 3D Flight Obstacle Course by TomPendergrass 2017-08-02T15:00:51Z

@ronan13 Thank you for the critique. I noticed the 'space to win' aspect after submission. I'm curious what your hardware setup is; I've tested the build on windows, mac, and even android without audio issues. Thanks for the feedback!

Kinesis - 3D Flight Obstacle Course by TomPendergrass 2017-08-03T14:36:15Z

Thank you @mrnyarlathotep! That also crossed my mind. I previously made a game like that called Gravity Drop, and wanted to branch into controls within the 3rd dimension with this project. I also think it would be easier to grasp with starfox style controls.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Sea Explorer by Harmadillo 2021-05-04T07:36:44Z

Hey there, not bad! I also made a game about diving deep in a submarine. It seemed very simple at first, but then when I realized how the cards compliment each other, I got hooked enough to start using the Save feature, lol. Nicely thought out, the only reason I stopped playing was because upgrading the condition on the submarine did not increase the condition from 10 while on an Expedition.

LD49 — Unstable

00:00 (ZeroTime) by hope42morrow 2021-10-11T02:15:27Z

Visually, the game is super clean! I managed to break it where I got to the top of the first ladder and it kicked me off of the ladder before the hatch closed, so I was stuck in the reactor space and had to reload.

Based on the reviews, it seems like this has been updated a few times? It would be great to see a release log so we can see what's changed from the initial deadline.

Waves by RiptideStudio 2022-10-04T23:40:49Z

Programming that LIDAR feel for exploration must've been fun. Nice job!

Let's put some BEANS in THINGS! -----BBEEEEAAAANN I got a score of 48, and for some reason I'm not hungry anymore...

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Metaworld by TolMera 2024-10-08T02:02:44Z

I tried to start game, but I didn't want to share my location, sorry!

If You Give A Mouse A Machinegun by Shaolin Dave 2024-10-08T01:53:15Z

Props for still posting it after admitting defeat. I got a kick out of your apology letter at the end. I hope you still had fun and learned a thing or two!

Oddball Assembly by Daniel Alhadeff 2024-10-08T03:17:57Z

You achieved fever dream status! Neat effect with the pulsating walls. Everything having eyes felt... familiar. Good job :D

Da Eg Hatcha by itsBoats 2024-10-08T03:04:57Z

I really dig the music and the variety of creatures. Made me want to play some green hill zone, despite the other apparent inspirations!

Tiny Ducks by osh.studio 2024-10-08T02:31:01Z

Fancy submission! Great art and sound effects. Reminds me of darkest dungeon.

Shrunken Adventures by treehuggerbear 2024-10-08T02:13:50Z

Props for chasing after all of the mechanics and for telling a story. I was surprised to be able to switch characters. The background effect was interesting.

Tiny Adventure by Kuadret 2024-10-08T01:56:36Z

I want to try this game, so leaving a comment hoping you'll reply when it's up. Be sure to make your itch.io page public! public_access.png

Argue Like Animals by maxotaco 2024-10-08T02:20:17Z

Made me feel like a politician in a debate! loved the music, great writing. I'll probably come back and play some more when I get the chance.

Card Economist by coatline 2025-10-07T02:37:33Z

I could play this all day, nice game! I appreciate the card frames as an extra touch to keep your collection.

Wisps and stars by pepnou 2025-10-07T03:56:09Z

I certainly enjoyed the pacing and calm music of this game. Bob Bob Bob

Do Needles Dream of Electric Haystacks? by Jaco van Hemert 2025-10-07T03:46:02Z

Reminded me of trying to figure out EVE online for the first time lol. I dig this kind of private investigator type of game, but I think it ramped up too quick for my feeble brain. If this had a difficulty ramp similar to "Papers, Please", I could see myself getting hooked for hours!

Deep Space Lawn Mowing by HexStart 2025-10-07T03:37:11Z

Very satisfying, I wish there were more ways to increase the speed of leveling up or fighting back against the rock horde. That grass grows like crazy

Aeternia by VPro 2025-10-07T04:10:36Z

The sound design pulled everything together for me and kept me intrigued to keep exploring. Nice tough having a scanner with small memory. Reminds me of early digital cameras before cell phones

ingest|digest by vivid-hallucination 2025-10-07T03:07:22Z

The phase changes were entertaining and kept us wanting to see what was next. I couldn't tell if the particles were moving slower as I got bigger, or if there was lag. The people running away was hilarious.

Ghost Collector by Logan33 2025-10-07T03:16:44Z

hey

Mineral Sweeper by gwhyang 2025-10-07T03:15:52Z

I'm not good at minesweeper, but I see what you were going for here. Interesting spin on collection. I wonder if the danger icon should be a pit in the ground or something. It kinda looks like gold to me

Katamari Survivors by zexurge 2025-10-07T02:53:05Z

Great mood here with the sounds and music. The cheering at the end added to the sense of accomplishment!

Crypt Of Collection by Theothervc 2025-10-07T02:45:05Z

The web version worked for me in Chrome; I see what you were going for here. I wanted the controls for jumping and inverting polarity to be switched, as spacebar is typically jump for keyboard platform games.

Magpie's Kleptomania by Elmalach 2025-10-07T03:23:36Z

This one is tough! I couldn't handle the quick time events. Maybe because I'm playing on a trackpad. It was a cool concept but now all I can hear are birds chirping

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

BabyFarmer2018 by sketchycode 2018-04-25T02:42:46Z

Nice work! There was a point that I considered how much saving a baby was worth compared to the stork delivery. That made me feel like a true farmer!

Dive Bar! by TomPendergrass 2018-04-24T04:50:54Z

Thanks for the review, Marsepstein! I agree with the points you made, I spent a lot of time wrestling with the camera so that it wouldn't slip through the walls. In the end, it kind of does anyways, or you get to see the innards of your face lol. Left click is the action button; You should be able to stand close to the table itself and left click to interact. I'll take a look at the version and upload a bugfix if I have the same problem. Cheers!

Knife Throwing Gallery by Vipaka 2018-04-25T02:38:35Z

That was pretty chill! Getting music into a Compo is always an accomplishment. I'd lower the max spin rate of the vases, and prevent the projectile from rotating after it is thrown. You did a good job of adding depth to the room, but the carpet texture is missing that skew. Even though its a short playthrough, I went through multiple times out of curiosity, so nice work holding my attention!

Witch's Escape by cristiano.m.garcia 2018-04-27T04:48:08Z

The art style is great! I'd suggest a minor penalty for button mashing all the keys, which makes the game super easy. Also, the pits are no longer a danger after reaching a certain speed.
