Arcade top-down shooters are some of my favorites and this definitely taps into that!
Nice polish, the particles were integrated really well and the game plays nicely. I really felt the lack of a thrust-down option though; often times the only reason I was using the boost was so that I could turn around properly. It works out, but felt a bit uncomfortable. Anyway, nice piece, I enjoyed playing and the leaderboard worked really well.
Really fun! Art and sound is great and the leaderboard system is super cool. I should mention, I was investigating the leaderboard system and inadvertently set a ridiculously high score for "Lionhearted Hippopotamus". I hope you can remove it because I feel bad.
In any case, really nice work! I had a lot of fun with this one 😀
I like how the lack of thrust made the game a bit more challenging! I think some debuffs really leaning into the unstable aspect of the theme would have been fun, but sometimes making something polished and functional works out better than trying to shoehorn yourself into the theme. Good work!
@firebelley Haha, I saw that! how'd you do it? I'm guessing the high score variable is exposed in the web build?
@paragonraptors Yeah, it took me the first 2 days just to finish the basic gameplay without any theme elemtents! Could always add lots more in space games.
Feels very polished, controls well and I really like the effects - gets a little repetitive after a while so I think more variety in encounters could really hook me
This was definitely a delight to play!! It took me a little bit to figure out the 'decay' mechanics, but they did add another level of confusion/mastery to the game. I really enjoyed the power-up you get when you fill the bar!! I felt so powerful, haha

Woahhh, this game's got some juice! Love the effects, music, feedback. Controls feel a little bit awkward, especially when turning, and using the enter key as a fire button feels a little bit cramped in my opinion, but these things are just small tweaks. The insanity mode feels so cathartic when you reach it. Great job on this game!
Such a fantastic game to play. The level of polish you got into this game is really impressive. I love the visuals, the particle effects when blowing stuff up is beautiful. The insanity meter is a nice touch, especially when you fill it up! Nice work, I'll be coming back to play this one in the future.

Great polish, loved the juice. The laughing took me pretty seriously by surprise. The first time I played it felt a little thin on enemies but as it went on there were notably more- which was good. I I enjoyed it!
I love the mechanics, it's a really satisfying game to play and you've made it so fun just to shoot things! I particularly liked the insanity mode, getting that reward for playing well is so nice. The graphics were awesome too, I loved the effects on the bullets, they made shooting so much more satisfying. The online leaderboard was a nice touch too, added some motivation to perform as well as you could. I would've liked adding my own username, but I can see why you might limit them! Can I ask what you used to set that leaderboard up? Really great game, very well done on making it!

Great game, loved art and effects, feels really good to kill! The insanity mechanic makes a lot of sense in this type of game, maniac laughter is great too, but I would lower the volume a bit, right now it overlaps with the music too much, specially when insane. Nice job!
That was good, I like the gameplay, all the cool particles and explosions really enhance a game and you did those well. Like others have said I never needed to use the burst, I like the UI for the ship pretty good and you dont want UI to clutter a screen for this type of game. Then there was the laughter...was that the game devs losing their mind or the ship hmmm.

The maniac laughter cracked me up, I couldent stop laughing maybe it was out of fear! Fun shooter, this game as the same spaceship movement as mine.
Fun game! Good controls and the voice is top-notch. Maybe if we could see the guy's face, it could support the idea of a crazy person more. But solid entry!
movement is kinda frustrating at times, but it ironically made it much funner, sort of wrestling against your own playe. Graphics and visual effects were also super nice! Good job!

Feels smooth and great art!
Great game. Smooth, great soundtrack, really felt like the space shoot equivalent of the doom slayer. I really like the dynamic music. The only improvement I could think of was having the insanity bar drop to zero over time as insane mode runs out. Sometimes I would take damage because I didn't know when my invincibility ran out.
Really polished and juicy. The difficulty is well dosed and not frustrating. Insanity is really rewarding. There's not much to say, the art is great, gameplay is really fun, sounds are good, really good work! Thank you for your game!
Amazing game! Great graphics and feel to the shooting. I wish there was just a tad bit more control over the steering but I think that's also something that gives it the 'unstable' feel!
Amazing game - maybe one of the best shooters which I have ever seen on Unity. Movements are smooth and all works well as expected. The main gameplay is fun - like laught. Polished and neat. I have only one word - bravo! You deserve all these positive ratings above. However I don't understand how it could fit with the theme. The leaderboard is a great feature, but I would like to choose my nickname. Nice music. A solid entry. Well done ++

Really fun game to just Go Hard! in. Graphics and gameplay were top-notch and I felt like I could play it for a while. My only gripe is the turning being a little too much and interesting key mapping. Overall, super polished and great use of the insanity (although I think an indicator that it would end soon would be nice). Keep it up!
So smooth! Incredibly polished and extra juicy. Those VFXs are beautiful, and overall aesthetic is so coherent. I'm guessing you opted out from graphics because you used premade assets or something? You surely deserve some credits for making it all cohesive. The spin on the theme though is something I've seen in quite a few games already, so it's not super original, but that's the only not great thing about it. Everything else is superb, huge congrats!!!

Really fun game. All the art looks great. I'm surprised you opted out of sound with the audio quality. The only complaint I had with the game is that there is no invincibility after getting hit. Often times I would take 2 hits of damage for crashing into an enemy and getting shot by them, which made getting laughed at all the more frustrating. Overall, good work!
Really nice presentation and graphics. The controls were really smooth and I liked having limits on how much I shoot, so that I couldn't just spam the lasers all of the time. The only thing that I didn't like was the maniacal laughing was happening a bit too often for my tastes, but otherwise a nice entry!
This feels so great to play. Love all the positive feedback, particles, the light show. The insane cackling in the background and the insanity meter. Just awesome.
Really fun to play game. The controls are smooth, every action I make has an effect on the world. There's a pay off to my chaos. It's a really well put together game. I also really like the music and the sound effects. Great job!

I liked the idea of having to juggle the meters, but in practice the ammo ran out way too fast and recharged way too slow. Even being judicious with my shots I ran out constantly. Then I'd circle back around to fire at someone on my tail and I still wouldn't even have a single shot charged, so I'd crash into them and lose a heart. It would be nice if a single-shot amount recharged faster than the rest so at least I could take a shot or two in those instances instead of constantly fleeing and waiting. But the frustration was mostly borne out of really liking the shooting, so clearly you did an excellent job on the game feel. This would be incredible with a bit more balancing!
Incredibly visually appealing and I loved the maniacal laughter! I kept playing and playing to try and get into the top 10.. alas!
it felt kind of weird to use enter to shoot. maybe have shoot on both enter and mouse first button for other ppl that dont like full keyboard controls.
Everyone else is right, the game feel here is sooooooo good. Sound effects, animations, all of it. Fantastic work on the polish. Kept me playing again and again to get a high score, and the fun never wore off. Which is why I can say the octopus has been dethroned.

Man you got robbed on those ratings. I wanted to come back and check a few games that I enjoyed, yours was easily the most fun, and one of the only games I gave 5 stars in the Fun category. This game is really good.
