Well, that sounds fun! by Jani Nykanen 2021-04-25T18:51:03Z
This game is deep, man. And pretty fun. Simple but challenging.

This game is deep, man. And pretty fun. Simple but challenging.
Turning's a little sluggish especially, but I don't mind the pace in this game. Kinda got a "Lunar Lander" thing going on under the sea. Was a bit short and not especially difficult, but I liked the atmosphere well enough and graphically, I really dig it. Heh. Dig.
Yeah, it's a pretty cool game. The issue for me is that it's a bit slow, having to bring blocks one at a time to the recycler. Could've really benefited from a stack system, but hey, it's a jam so what can ya do. What's in there works pretty well, though I did find it to be a tad slidey.
The black ball is a cruel, unkind thing. I enjoyed both the concept and the execution, with the whole "screen shrinks each time you win" thing. Graphics and audio were appealing. Yeah, this was pretty good, well done.
Pretty fun game, not sure what you're supposed to do when you reach the room with the three chaps. Made many attempts to get lower and actually succeeded once, but there wasn't really indication of where to go from there and eventually I just wound up dying. It was fun while it lasted, and I really dig the art style.
It's pretty awesome, conceptually. I do love some turn-based strategy games. Sadly though, getting to the second floor went from manageable to one-shot city pretty damn quickly. Needs some numbers balanced, but for what it is, good show.
I like the style and it's got a pretty fun little premise, keeping track of your moves and the dungeon's layout with an invisible monster roaming nearby. Yeah, not bad at all.
This is way too spooky for this time of year, you shoulda saved it for the October jam. But all joking aside, that was fun. It's fast, simple, with appealing sound and graphics, plus a big skeleton smooch if you remembered the camera. You can even pick your bone colour. Yellow skelly for the win!
That feeling when your swordsmen run off an let everyone else get bodied by the hordes. Le sigh. Pretty cool game though, pixel art is fun and it's satisfying to watch your dudes wreck waves of demons. Nice job.
Love the graphics and the tunes, and boy, the "3D art of the heart" is so "deep" that I think I had a religious experience playing this. Nice.
Sadly, with a lack of any visual feedback or audio oomph this game isn't much fun to play. Valiant effort, though.
Wonky to play, but pretty fun. This is my "Lazy Somersault Simulator" of the year for 2021, for sure. Graphics are simple and appealing, and the music's pretty good. No real complaints here.
I adore the art style of it, but I felt like it was a little inconsistent on the controls front. Could just be me, but it seemed like sometimes I could grapple in the air after grappling or jump after a grapple and other times not so much. Could do with a bit of polish but as is it's pretty sweet. Love the music too.
@morphine Hey, glad you liked it! I tried to capture that air of futility as you struggle against the clock and debt but inevitably fail. No matter how many rad keytars you dig up...
@sam-bigos Yeah, I definitely could've done better at conveying the debt thing. I'd had cutscenes in mind for between the days, but I got into the later hours of the second day and it just wasn't happening. As far as the gameplay is concerned... it's sort of a spoon to the soup that is the kinda crap story, sorry. xD
@logan Thanks, I made the "Waaagh" myself. xD
Two deepers in one, I like it. Kinda reminds me of a Sokpop game, and I do like me a Sokpop game. It's a bit weird to control and sometimes you get absolutely wrecked by hitting a shark at a bad angle, but not bad. I'm pretty sure that music was designed as some kinda government sound weapon though. I jest, it was okay.
It's pretty barebones and lacks much of anything, plus you can phase through the thin walls by aggressively shoving yourself into them. No GUI, and there's really not much for gameplay or story. It's a miss for me. If I had to give some advice here, I'd say to go smaller next time. Make one character that works well, a couple good floors and some fun encounters, and maybe add a GUI and camera controls. I don't want to sound like an asshole here.
Deeper is deper is deeperp deprp dprep
It's pretty neat. The graphics and sound are bare, but they get the job done. I really don't have a lot to say, it's functional and you pick up on it rather quickly. Good job.
Yeah, it's stacking. Does exactly what it sets out to do. The one real problem I can point to is the front layer of grass which has a bad habit of completely obscuring some objects from view, making it so you need to click around to find things. Also, given the office theme to the background noise and the start-of-round chatter, I can't help but feel like it may have been more appropriate to set it in a warehouse or an office. But hey, not bad.
Yeah, it's alright. Bit of polish and maybe a bit of a faster reload and you'd be onto something. I'd suggest either having keys posted in the tutorial or just skip having it altogether, it's not really helpful reading a sign that says you can dash if it doesn't tell you HOW you can dash, y'know?
Now this is just ridiculous. Who ever heard of a rabbit designing video games? Poppycock! Expect a strongly-worded letter in the mail. In all seriousness, this is kind of a neat game. Sort of a strange, ever-changing game of breakout. I'd suggest giving a bit more space for the gameplay though, it feels a little bit cramped as is.
Should have a little blurb up front explaining how to play, but also it's pretty intuitive so a lack of instructions isn't the worst thing. I quite enjoy the graphics and the gameplay is interesting, especially with how it constantly shifts your little avatar thingy. It's got some potential as a fun, casual deck builder some day in the future. Well done.
Well, it's pretty much exactly what it says on the box. The music comes in a bit strong after a failure, maybe smooth it out or just have it keep playing when you lose, and just have some other sound play over it. Minor gripe.
I don't know what the game means about mixing elements. In theory I do, but there doesn't seem to be any sort of inventory, so I have no idea. I think the potions creating platforms that you can jump across is a pretty neat idea though.
Coulda sworn I've played a game like this before. Can't quite put my finger on it. Got into a loop of saving right off the bat that took some fenagling to get out of. It was also strangely difficult to actually start a new game. The UI needs work, and you probably shouldn't be able to move into objects you can't see through, that gets a little awkward. Still, good effort.
Well, for your first jam game it could've been a lot worse! It's pretty admirable it works as well as it does, I didn't have any weird collisions or anything. Though I also took your advice and didn't stand under any moving platforms. I know how GM gets with that sorta thing. Only real criticism I can point to is that it feels like you do move a bit slow, especially as the spider(?) in the later levels. I'd speed it up a tad. Well done, eh?
Pixel art is great. Good stuff. Music's not too bad either. The tables need to be spaced out a little more though, it's a bit tight getting through them. Holding space to carry items was a bit odd, it feels like it should be a toggle to pick up/drop, but that's not a deal breaker. Good effort.
That was fun. A farming puzzle game is right up my alley. Maxing out energy gains was very satisfying.
I always love seeing a turn-based strategy game turn up in a jam. This one is pretty decent overall, can't really complain. The connection to the theme is a little weak, but hey.
Pretty fun little game, even if those pirates can go kiss my butt. Graphics are appealing, and it's a fun little loop of taking in different ships to get what resources you need.
I think this idea is pretty much perfect for the theme of this jam. Having a ten-second Warioware style game is a really great idea. The execution was pretty good too, I especially liked the cabbage minigame. Well done.
The art is cool and it's neat that it's got voice acting. It's a bit short and I'm not entirely sure I understand the logic of the puzzle at the end. Not bad, but I do feel like the dark world was just sorta there to waste a few seconds of your time rather than actually contribute to the puzzles or anything. Neat transition effect though.
It's pretty good. Plays well enough, and it restarts you at your current level when you die. So no replaying levels you've already cleared, which is nice. The game didn't respond to my input before the first death, not sure if that's intentional or not, but once it did, it went well. Could do with a bit more visibility on the level of freezing you're enduring, as by the time you start turning blue you're as good as dead. Not bad overall.
I really enjoy this game. Well done! No complaints here.
The graphics and music give me nostalgia, but the game is just you careening through space occasionally getting an asteroid on a collision path. I noticed a fair chunk of asteroids weren't actually spawning in the middle area either. Weird.
I like this. Only having a moment at a time to look at the map makes it quite difficult to remember where exactly you're going, but I like that in a maze. Red Ghost was big spooky. The music is also very good.
