So cool!
Enjoyed a lot playing it
"nice", "so cool". good ol uncle fred lol
I very trippy experience. Art, Mood, and Sound really ties the whole thing together from a audio/visual standpoint. I wish the interaction element was a little more engaging.
Great take on the theme, very creative. word selection is a bit weird for me :/ I couln't fit them to the sentences in my mind so that kind of break the mood for me still 4.5/5
@hujowlazow @yaromir @not-the-loading-screen @ethanthopkins thank you all for playing and enjoyuing our game!
@zackavelli Hi!, thank you so far for playing and for your feedback! Honestly the interactions were deliberately made not to be teribly engaging so player's mind can wander during playing the game. (We were thinking about making everything quicker and more challenging but after that the game wasn't an experience we wanted to create). Maybe the game would remind someone of something and they'll leave, mid-travel, just to return and start over? Or they'll go deep into their own mind and forget about the actual game, listening to the meditation experience on the radio? However, a mode that is more challenging and engaging could be a nice add-on, we'll see what we can do!
@cslupius thank you for playing! The sentences are an excuse for your own ideas and thoughts! You can leave them blank if you're not happy with the words provided (you can also re-roll a word by clicking on it with a RMB - once per 3 questions). For not replying it is only -1 heart and there is plenty of other ways to get them back. However, if there will be enough bugs and features to add for a patch, we'll happily add some more words. If you have any word suggestions, please do share them :3
Nice fresh approach to madlibs; got to ask my uncle if "Night" is his wifi password, because I want to connect my laptop to it, for which he promptly asked me if I'm high. Then I told him a restaurant nearby doesn't serve his favorite Cat, which was perfectly fine. 10/10 would vibe to aesthetics again
Really unique experience carried mostly by graphics and sound. I would like long time for answers, as the conversation is really fun to twist around. But sometimes I felt rushed in otherwise chill game.
Best Line :radio: *Ludum dare event is in progress, all participants have less then three hours left.*
I felt that.
Great aesthetic and vibes. Really nice art and sound. I liked the word-choosing mechanics a lot, and tried to say something meaningful-ish each time. I liked the different "worlds" you travel through and including the ending made me feel like I'd gotten the full experience.
Well, that's a one creepy uncle 😂 also driving in the middle of the road.. Adds to that slight panic of finding the right words to say haha Great execution visually and musically too, loved it!
unknown (6).png :pensive:
A frighteningly accurate game about how it seems and feels to drive during 3 AM when returning from music gig.
A very enjoyable and aesthetic roadtrip, the radios are really great and the random words make for nice and quite funny combinations! The game could benefit a lot from a more random pool of words in fact, to make the combinations even more random. The only criticisms I have is the door frame obscures some of the tutorial text and the fact that sometimes the time between interactions is too long and you just sit there, I would add one more interaction in between to balance it out.
Overall, 10/10 would plug in cat into uncle's car while listening to beats from Pierdziawa FM again
Nice chill experience. The art is very nice and it is a creative take on the theme.
Neat concept! Love the aesthetic :)
Great radio dialog! I hate it when it rains vaporwave though :/ I called my fridge a god and let my dreams go
Love the graphics and the tunes, and boy, the "3D art of the heart" is so "deep" that I think I had a religious experience playing this. Nice.
OMG I think this is the best art style. I loved the color scheme and the music. They were in perfect match. When I make the uncle cry , the background changed that was great touch. Also windows 98 error clouds was best :D
The representation of color scheme feels like you are high and sitting in the back seat. You can't chose correct words thats why you get help from your phone. Also I like psyhedelic concepts thats why the name of 'deep drive' name perfect fits.
Tonight I will show it to my friens , they will like it :)) This is my favourite now. Handling the theme in an abstract way is unique!
@ade haha thank you!
@scintillae-creations thank you and glad you enjoyed our little game! hmm I noticed that some of the people struggle with the reply time so in an update we'll definitely make it a bit longer. The radio program of LOR Radio was recorded almost exactly 3 hours before end, glad you found it relatable xD
@felixmreeve @sempiternal @naamed @kypello @andrewdavidj @adrien-dittrick thank you all for playing and enjoying our game! :heartbeat: I wish you to stay safe during your roads journeys (and preferably do not drive in the middle of the road like uncle Fred)
@threaded-lama-digital thank you for playing and glad you like the experience! 3d art of the heart is a good combo, one of the best I heard so far :ok_hand:
@batuoz thank you for playing and glad you liked it! As for the title, we were like "Hmm, something live Dive, Dreep, Drive shou;d fit" and as we weren't able to decide on just one, well, we named the game Deep Dive Drive xD
Great concept and execution. Definitely a game that should be sent to Vinny Vinesauce! I really look forward to the next game you guys make as well as seeing if you take this any further!

Mmh, that was some nice artstyle - I´d rather buy a car than having an assignment - idk if the uncle would have approved. I especially liked how you did your menu (especially) the credits :)
@chambre19 thank you! haha, we'd send it to Vinny if we had a chance of picking his interest with it xD
@bicheste thank you kindly for playing and enjoying it : D
@ancient-pixel thank you! I was the one who did the menu, so I thank you personally ^^ And glad that you noticed our (very cursed) credits xD
Super cool vibe and graphics! How are the words selected?
And yes, like others I struggled a bit with the reply time :)
Those monks and their wifi!
Amazing game, had me laughing and slightly creeped out by uncle the whole time. Sorta reminds me of this game Hellcab from the 1990's that creeped me out as a kid. Art style is fantastic and I really appreciated the work put into the radio stations.
meaningoflife.PNG
I appreciated the silly party game nature of the conversation prompts while ALSO creating some pretty funny yet apt statements on life and existence. Uncle might be creepy but he asks the right type of questions.
Thank you such a unique game! One of my favorites so far.
Very cool theme and music vibe!
I love the concept of this game, and the synthwave aesthetic.
As a few others have mentioned, it would be a bit more fun with a bit more variety in the word pool. Also, having some longer answers with even more words used would be a fun twist for extra humor.
You don't see many games where the main character is a young smartphone-staring, bad-with-words, insecure-about-car-button-locations lad who just dies if he disappoints his uncle, so that aspect is a fresh air of both originality and realism at the same time. While on the first sight one may interpret this as the creepiest dating sim ever, it does a great job at describing last few generations of humans. And anything that describes humans earns its place in the history of art.
I love this. A weird surrealistic mad-lib uber ride with Uncle Fred.
Woah, where do I even begin. The mood of this game is just phenomenal, I could sit and cruise in this car forever! The idea is very unique, safe to say that I have never seen anything like it before :D
It was so cool that you had multiple radio channels, I enjoyed litsening to the little easter eggs that you had added. My favorite was the Wifi emitting monks, sounds like a great superpower!
Speaking of wifi, this made me laugh: ffb8657533414cb31e5818274c0c69f5.png
Amazing entry!
This game is all about the V I B E :rainbow: and on that front, it succeeds! Wonderful art and atmosphere. Impressive amounts of radio broadcasts
@mxbi thank you for trying Deep Dive Drive out! We're planning on a collective update of reported issues, making the reply time a little longer being one of them ^^ Each "level" "game stage" has it's own set of words, the first stage has only non-abstract words like item names and such and the last stage has only abstract "deep" words like words that mean concepts such as loss, faith etc. If you want to hear detailed mechanics of it I can ask our programmer as I wasn't the one implementing it ^^'
@systemeffect Haha, I was the creator of the idea of monks emitting WiFi, I'm glad it picked your interest xD And lol, Hellcab!! During the jam I was like, "this game reminds me of some older game...but what was it..." Now I know, it was a cool and weird one indeed. Glad you enjoyed a ride with Uncle Fred and "loss is all I have" sounds actually really sad and deep.
@silas-reinagel Thank you so much for playing! As for the word pool,we're planning an update to add some more and the problem with incorporating dialogues with more blanks to put the words in was mostly engine/programming issue so we settled for two to avoid huge bugs and glitches. But if we ever wanted to make a Steam or so version of it, gradually growing dialogues (like you put one word first and then you end up with 4 or 5 blanks to fill) would be amazing idea, thank you for that!
@kr4ft3r wow, that was a deep review. Thank you so much. Some backstage knowledge, our team was super imressed by your comment in our private Discord, it really hit the core of our game, we weren't expecting anyone to delve that deep in the whole concept. But you're really right; we're happy you had some time to analyze Deep Dive Drive and that you consider it art. Thank you so much!
@variable-enigmatic Thank you and glad you like it! Uncle Fred also enjoyed a ride with you (at least I hope that he did, he's a bit... lets say, enigmatic, as you probably already know)
@simon-rahnasto Thank you so much and it's great to hear that you enjoyed a ride with Uncle Fred! WiFi emitting monks was my idea so I thank you personally, it was late at night and I was doing main menu with that monk and WiFi symbols around him when I came up with that part of LOR radio program. Thank you for the screenshot! Well, in the game you cannot see what is in the back of the car, maybe there is a fridge indeed? xD :eyes:
@langotriel thank you so much, glad you liked it! :rainbow: I was personally surprised when I created the Mixtape (the mp3 file that is in the game zip, it's all the radio stuff combined), I was like "guys, we have like 30 minutes of radio stuff...", I'm happy it was noticed ^^
Beautiful game although slightly confusing. It is visually soooo pleasing with changing backgrounds constantly. In my first run I didn't understand how the words with colours work as it wasn't explained in the tutorial but later picked up on it. From there it was smooth sailing.
Some suggestion would be to have a difficulty curve with at first less words and more time to enter. Also a score based on the time played would be nice.
(Also big oof for dad)
ddd2000test.png
If it ever gets worked further on I'd like to see where it would go. Also cool that the whole mixtape is included!
I really like this! In particular, the concept and art are great. It is a bit slow paced, but I fully appreciate the time limitations! I would love to see this extended into a full game.
Astonishingly beautiful aesthetics and artpieces! Also really liked the plurality of radiostations to choose from!
The game loop itself felt good, though being timed made me panic a lot and not really pay attention to what I was anwering all of the time. That being said, I am glad I did pay attention at the very end of the game:

Blessed experience!
I really dig the ~aesthetics~ of the game. The whole mood was superb. Even tough I really liked the idea to troll my "uncle", I would have loved to have an logic behind the answers. When the time runs out, you could just click randomly and still "win". Great game though!
Hi,
Here is my Playthrough of your game as you requested
https://youtu.be/P1QeSAgRLSg
@dandeleon Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it! The colors of dialogues are explained in the last slide of the tutorial but we noticed some people skip the tutorial/do not pay a lot of attention to it as it's a game-experence and does not have complex mechanics, I tihnk maybe the Uncle could remind about it from time to time during the game. Happy to hear that you got it right later on your own! Incorporating dialogues with more/less blanks to put the words in was mostly engine/programming issue so we settled for two to avoid huge bugs and glitches that we encountered. And wow, a time-based score would be an amazing idea, thank you for that! If we ever make a "proper" game using this concept, we would definitely listen to most, if not all, your suggestions. (big oof for dad indeed)
@tigermouse thank you! the slowness was a design idea so the player could listen to radio and/or think about some of the "deep" concepts but indeed there could be some more stuff to play with in the full game (like, maybe browsing something on the phone, sending sms etc.)
@trexxak Thank you for playing and we're happy that you enjoyed it! oh my, the line you got is really deep (and a bittle bit depressing too, if you ask me)
@chuchugeralt thank you so much! We firstly wanted to make the dialogues more logic-based but it was just a little too big of a challenge for both the engine and only one programmer we had. Last ludum Dare we had a lot of bugs in the game, some of them softlocking, so we decided to settle for something less complex ^^ But it would be great to have a little of logic and sense behind the answers (also like, imagine that you ask Uncle if you can connect a cat to the WiFi and after you say that there is suddenly a cat in the car. Would be a nice touch in a "full version")
@ausstein thank you so much for playing our game and we're happy that you enjoyed it! Also liked and subscribed! And indeed it's a game-experience! Also big thumbs up for you for reading the WHOLE tutorial, it was really nice that you analyzed it all before playing ^^
Ahaha this game make me laught  The idea is so clever and fun !
Graphics are amazing. You should improve text recognition, sometimes I choose stupid words and my uncle is still happy :smile_cat: I would like to angry my uncle when I spam radio or air conditioning control. Some blank lapsetime are too long, maybe add a tiny game on mobile to distract the player when Uncle says nothing. Nice background music.
Overall awesome game, very polished
"And once again...breathe in through the nose...and out through the lips..."
Uncle: "ehhhh......I've heard this one a thousand times before..."
What a surreal experience...
One small piece of feedback I have is that the laserbeam sound effect is a little sharp and jarring. I know y'all can make good audio since you created some nice tunes -- I wish the sound effect was a little more pleasing to match.
FYI: "Parallel" is spelled with a double 'L' :)
Amazing art! Probably my favorite part of the game. So unique. The radio stations were pretty cool, music was nice. It did feel a little bit too slow though at times, though I realize this game is probably more about taking in the art than it is about the gameplay (much like our game). By the way, did I mention how cool the art was?
Very interesting experience. I enjoyed my time in the car with uncle. The graphics were really cool, and I really enjoyed all the unique audio and radio stations. My biggest issue was it was really slow with not a lot happening in between the questions, which were seemingly pointless? Otherwise I really enjoyed it!
That was very atmospheric. The visuals are great and the music bumps up a dreamy and meditative atmosphere by a hundred. Every radio station was interesting and unique, but I'm not gonna lie, I've listened to PRDZWA FM almost throughout the whole journey, and was checking out other stations only when uncle Fred asked me to
@duck-reaction thank you for playing and for the feedback! there is no word recognition, it's just color-based recognition, as a logic and word-understanding system was simply too complex for one programmer to create succesfully and bug-free. Also the idea was to create weird, out-of-place dialogues and if uncle had some logic to that, there won't be any "connetect the fridge to the WiFi" texts xD But as I mentioned before, that's totally a thing we're gonna do in a full game, same with mobile game and Uncle getting angry if you spam buttons. Also, with word recognition, imagine saying "I need to connect my cat to the car" and suddenly a cat appears nearby in the car. Sounds cool to me : D Thank you so much for this valuable feedback!
@ddrkirbyisq Thank you for playing and glad you enjoyed it! Oh, about the sfx - we noticed this issue right before the jam end and the format they were in was not fixable in the engine so we started to extract the files, change the format, make them less loud and put them back in the engine. But we didn't have time for all of them >.< Thank you for noticing the spelling mistake, all I can say I was tired when I wrote these.
@1minatur @link270 thank you for playing any reviewing :D glad you enjoyed a ride with Uncle Fred.
@annie-owl We're glad you played and enjoyed our game! Hhaa, PRDZWA FM was our programmer station, he's very happy that you liked it xD
AMAZING game!!! Love the graphics, the radio, the minigames... I just wish there were more events and other things to do (maybe giving uncle Fred something from the car, a snack or something or even taking a pic to those amazing backgrounds you had there)
Great job!!!!
