LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Rock Bottom by Josh6680 2021-04-30T02:54:42Z

I liked how you could tell the path of the bullet. controls felt good.

Depth by SaraJS 2021-04-27T01:41:37Z

cool to see 3d in gms. gives ps1 horror vibes which I enjoy.

The Rim by jokerbomb 2021-04-27T02:41:14Z

nice to see some other gms games on here!

Pan's Mythical Journey by walnoot 2021-04-27T18:24:09Z

Good game, I thought the pacing felt just right. The repeating background track did get a bit irritating after a bit but it wasn't the end of the world.

Thats Deep by InappropriateName 2021-04-27T00:46:21Z

lmao I didn't expect this. I'm a big fan of cringe humor. I was getting ptsd flashbacks to 13 yr old me posting that stuff on fb. The controls were a bit punishing I thought. Maybe give the player a bit of grace period after leaving the ledge to where they can still jump afterward. Anyway great job esp for a solo project.

Doomino's Pizza by Ryfi 2021-04-27T01:19:37Z

felt very polished. loved the music. tutorial phase was just right. boss battles were pretty punishing which isn't my personal cup of tea but may work for others.

Diving Bubble by thesnide 2021-04-27T21:12:34Z

High score: 1700ish Love the retro theme. I appreciate that the game and controls were simple to learn. Tell me though is there some code in there that when I become a certain color, it makes it less likely that bubbles of that color appear? Because it felt like it ;)

Ludum Postal by jvolonte 2021-04-27T02:52:38Z

ah yes the overworked retail/receiving employee simulator. excellent. fr though I enjoyed it, I laughed when the boxes just kept coming.

Lie or Die by Nobleboy 2021-04-27T18:36:00Z

I couldn't get the "lie" or "truth" buttons to work, am I doing something wrong?

Barochamber by Ourten 2021-04-27T02:35:06Z

ok fish people were actually pretty scary though. I wish there was some way that you could keep track of how many valves you had left. like a number count or something on screen.

Swarm Crawl by YetRecallLaw 2021-04-27T02:10:56Z

noticed a slight bug (no pun intended) when the game over screen appears. the flame thrower just goes off indefinetly. I enjoyed the game. it was fun.

New Horizons by Noctuaris12 2021-04-27T01:31:08Z

Typewriter text would have benefitted greatly from a way to press a button and make it all apear at once. The sound got a bit monotonous and was a bit slow paced. I noticed a few clipping errors in the first swimming sequence. Other than that I enjoyed the plot twist and the story.

Last penny by Advarsky 2021-04-26T23:57:44Z

Deep Dive Drive 2000 by Dane Tesla 2021-04-27T00:55:15Z

"nice", "so cool". good ol uncle fred lol

The Dwarven Brigade by Wolfier 2021-04-30T02:52:22Z

Liked it. The music was great.

Boris with a crazy dream by Kirby 2021-04-27T02:25:08Z

Jumping and moving didn't feel natural. Like i would move and try to jump and the character wouldnt jump. I like the sense of humor in the game. On screen tutorials were good. the bruh cracked me up

Dongeons & Potions by Revetoon 2021-04-27T18:41:09Z

I played this game for quite a bit. I like all the little details you put in like the physics for the books, different enemy types, and of course all the little potions. Music and controls felt good. I don't know if I just missed it but it would have been cool to have a visible health gauge.

Squareroot mining by omnes ludos 2021-04-27T00:36:26Z

Sorry man wasn't sure how to install what it said in the directions. Couldn't play.

Bean Guy: Underground by Constantine Pallas 2021-04-27T21:20:20Z

I played all the way through. I don't know if it was intended to be but it felt very surreal (which is something I enjoy). I enjoyed the humor in the game as well and the different mechanics on each level. The sound loop was a bit annoying but the levels were short enough to where it wasn't a big deal. Maybe try adding on to the length of some of the songs and I think that would fix it up.

"Out Through", by MargheriTeam by z3r0n1n 2021-04-27T00:15:11Z

I think the character's jumping voice sound could have used some reverb to make it sound like it was in the environment it is in. I LOVED the background piano and the intro theme so props to Pietro (I'd like a copy of the songs if possible) @EthanThopkins on discord. The direction in the game was a bit unclear. At some parts I was questioning to myself like "am I doing the right thing?" but I still figured it out and got to the end so it didn't make it unplayable at all. Good job guys!

Operation Gridius by flaxhass 2021-04-27T02:45:33Z

i'm not sure if I was playing wrong but it was as if the thrusters would only work if very particular places.

Whatever It takes by BurnerReborn 2021-04-27T18:18:54Z

I can say I've honestly never played a game like this before. I thought the concept was pretty clever and the difficulty felt just right. It took me a bit to figure out the controls and the layering system (even though it was clearly written in the instructions. I do think the switching layers buttons might have felt a bit nicer if it was on the right side of the keyboard somewhere so you could have both hands working. Like maybe the right and left mouse button? Other than that nitpicky critque though I enjoyed your game. Thought it had great mood and sound too.

Send Help by Rocket and Blanky 2021-04-27T18:31:41Z

good job guys. nice simple game. took me a few tries but I eventually got it. The mood felt good, controls felt good. noticed a few collision issues in the kitchen with the oven and counter. Maybe missing some colliders? Music felt good as well.

Seeking For Poufix by Azel Wkr 2021-04-27T00:59:49Z

my bro. how you get past the acid? I legit couldn't figure it out lmao

Goo Grab by Phillip Scott 2021-04-27T01:08:41Z

I may not have been sure what the hell was going on but it was very fun to play. The screenshake, recoil, and particles worked very well. The animation on the menu was appealing as well. I'm not sure if it was intentional but the jumping seemed to bring me further that I expected and it felt a bit awkard (like jumping and then going left or right).

Abyss by Pandalk 2021-04-27T02:07:28Z

I agree with @impbox. I like how the sonar matched the beats of the music as well. I thought the game was beautifully done. Althought the graphics were so simple it just worked.

Wagon Stack! by daquxxn 2021-04-27T01:54:46Z

music started clipping for me after level 3. other than that: simple, easy to pick up. tutorials done right.

Muck Mansion by Themuckamuck 2021-04-30T02:50:05Z

Like some other's said I liked the graphics but the hit box was a bit too punishing.

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T01:02:30Z

@cireneikual222464 hey thanks for playing. it could have been but I'll be the first to admit that the sound system code is hanging together by a very thin thread lmao.

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T01:03:44Z

@diego-pontes thank you! was the sound just looping at a point that didn't flow or like was the balance out of wack or something else?

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T01:32:28Z

@benosuke yeah that's something I struggle with adding in interaction. I'm getting better though with every game! thanks for playing.

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T18:01:05Z

@peco I wanted to much to put choices in the game so much! I ran out of time though. Thanks for playing! :)

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T18:01:51Z

@gulcasa I was worried about that because resolution is something I just don't have a good grasp on yet tbh. I think that's what I'm gonna work on next.

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T18:02:34Z

@kaabiikaze thanks for the feedback!

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T20:58:18Z

@autogibbon Thanks, that is exactly what I was going for! I could've made that a bit more clear at the end I agree. For the record...it's up to interpretation lol. I imagine your player killing him

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T20:59:21Z

@systemeffect Thanks :)

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T21:23:21Z

@dane-tesla going to take that into account in my future games. It's something I never thought of until now. Thanks for playing

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-27T21:23:59Z

@eugenik Thank you!

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-28T02:02:48Z

@xpoho спасибо за игру и за отзывы. Я вижу, что многие люди говорят о скорости, поэтому я собираюсь изучить это в будущих играх.

Lonely Sound by Ethanthopkins 2021-04-29T15:03:55Z

@videt hearing that a lot. Definitely something I'm going to do on my next game

The Right Way by OffworldDemon 2021-04-27T01:58:08Z

how do you get past the first enemy? couldn't figure it out. glad to see some horror games on here. my fav genre

The Right Way by OffworldDemon 2021-04-27T02:12:05Z

@offworlddemon ohhh okay I'm so used to horror games not allowing you to fight back i just assumed. cool playing again now

The Right Way by OffworldDemon 2021-04-27T02:17:55Z

@offworlddemon ok nice game. I like how you actually could leave if you wanted. i noticed a clipping glitch if you keep walking in the first stairs instead of pressing E. looks like you had it accounted for though because it would send me back the start if i did that.

Into The Light by William V B 2021-04-27T02:57:40Z

what are you supposed to do in the first room?

The Camera Is Watching by Pink Spaceman 2021-04-27T00:04:57Z

simple and straight forward. It was a little unclear what the collision point was when one of the robbers (I think) disappeared when the policeman came near. Other than that I really liked the idea of being an ai.
