Had a lot of fun playing this!
Very nice! Looks very polished.
Pretty awesome game! Had me hooked for some time trying to get a higher score, great job
Looks very nice and polished, and is fun to play too! I like the feature that when you stop playing the whole world is spinning :p
This is pretty awesome! Your options are limited, but it's still pretty fun. If you could do multiple actions per turn it would probably add some depth, but its still really nice :D
Nice game, like nothing I ever played before :)
I got a missing dependency when trying to run the game. The game sounds interesting, but you should've put a bit more time in packaging it :)
Great game! Love the innovative idea and execution! Like the others I couldn't get more than one light, so some more sound hints could be good.
Sadly I got the same error as sftrabbit, I'd play this if you could resolve the issue :)
Pretty cool game, and nice music too! I was kinda able too cheese it a bit by just sitting still in the middle while being green (there seemed to be no green enemies).
Excellent game! Had me chuckling sometimes, and you seem to understand the relationship between lotsa particles and good gameplay
I think I like this game, it's quite avant-garde
Nice game! I really like how 'simple' the concept sounds, but it still requires you to really think about your choices
Got ~1600 after cheesing it by spamming left arrow and space alternatively :p. But its a nice game anyway, quite polished
Nice game, I like the style. It took a while, but I managed to fit everything. I feel like there is a really nice concept here (I love tetris), but the execution is a bit flawed. The effect of the recycling is that you just spend a lot of time resetting every tile until it fits nicely. Also I never paid attention or had any trouble with the demands. Maybe it would be better if all tiles would fit from the start.
Still, its a nicely polished game with a simple but slick art style that is fun to play, so congrats!
Great idea and execution! Was very satisfying to kill my brother with a huge missile :p. Only improvement I would suggest is to not show prompts where you dont have any choices due to lack of money
Wow, this is one of the most polished and beautiful LD games I´ve ever played! The game mechanics arent very deep, but its just a pleasure to interact with the world and see everything. How the fuck did you manage to complete this in 48 hours on your own?!
I really like the concept here, but its a bit poorly communicated (like knowing what resource is what, knowing what I should build). Also control feel a bit clunky due to the lack of strafe. Bonus points for rolling your own engine!
Good game! It took me a while to understand the game mechanics, but after a while I managed to beat it on medium. My strategy was just to take a lot of punishment in the beginning and just buy a lot of extra gold cards, so my gold income was huge. After that I could just buy everything that I wanted and the boss slowly got killed. I didnt really feel the need to buy the blue cards since I thought the attack cards were more valuable.
Wow, this is a challenging game (although it got a bit easier after I realised that you can build turrets :p). I hope you'll continue working on this, its seems very promising with some more polish.
Great game! I like the art and the idea that you cant defend yourself. I think the game is a bit too hard because of the small input delay and the fact that you cant change direction when jumping. Also the RNG with the fuel and enemy placement has a large impact on the difficulty, I feel like I was only able to beat the game because I got lucky :P
I really like games that try to say something like yours. Games like this really push gaming as a medium that is more than just ´for fun´. The mood that you set in your game is also very good. It is very dark, both in the writing and the visual style. The overall game mechanics (controlls, difficulty etc) are not deep, but I feel like this does not make the game much worse since its all about the storytelling and style.
I was a bit confused at the end (?), the bit with ´never lose____´, because I got stuck in a pit with the airstream stuck in a wall. I don´t know if this is a clever metaphore or just an error :p. Anyways congrats on making a very cool game!
I like, very original take on the theme. Some minor nitpicks are that the movement is a bit slippery and that I want to listen to all the dialogue but dont want to start the level over :p
Excellent game, I'm not used to seeing games this polished (although it ran a bit slow on my crappy laptop, but thats not your fault). You really get a feeling of exploration when playing the game. The fighting mechanics are not very deep however, and I feel like some kind of puzzle mechanic would have fit the overall style of the game better.
Nice entry! I like that you cant attack back, and the procedural levels are cool. The main game mechanic is exploring the level and finding the exit, maybe you could have expanded this mechanic a bit more by throwing around powerups around the levels so you are rewarded for exploring everything? I didnt notice any ~~bugs~~ glitches, only sometimes you spawn next to the goal and sometimes you get spawn killed. Anyways, congrats on making a cool game!
I like it! Its good how the game keeps throwing new puzzle mechanics at you when you have mastered one, keeps it fresh. Some levels needed a couple of tries before I got the new mechanic but it wasnt too frustrating
I like the snake-like controls, although they were a bit clunky. Also, since there is no penalty to using the boost I just pressed it all the time in the beginning (until I got bored of driving into buildings). Still congrats on making a fun and polished game!
Wow, this is a real cool concept! Its awesome how you are your own enemy, and when you take a hit you curse at yourself for taking a stupid route in the past :p. Excellent game, nicely polished and also fun, so congrats!
Excellent game! Its a simple and fun mechanic that is perfectly executed by scaling the difficulty and introducing new elements. Normally I would add a suggestion for improvement here but I can't think of any :p
I really love the idea here, starting out with converting small groups and continually increasing your following. Sadly it's a bit too easy to achieve this. After converting a bit your income stream is so big that you can quickly buy all the upgrades and then the conversion becomes even easier. Still, the mechanics are well explained, and despite the short play time it was still fun, so congrats!
Cool game, exploration based games are always fun. I just wish there was a bit more content, like hidden collectibles or extra difficulty (like enemies, keys/locked doors). Or maybe there is more, but I stopped playing after six levels. Anyways, the mechanics are novel and fun, so I´m calling this a good game :)
Pretty cool game! Only gripes I had was that the difficulty at the start was a bit too high and that you couldnt really anticipate where the aliens would land so the only tactic was to spam defenisive stuff everywhere.
I played this for longer than I should have, good job :p! I'm generally not really a fan of clicker games, but you've made it a lot of fun. It's polished, the music is good and it has a lot of juice.
Cool game, it turned out to be more challenging than it appeared (no pun intented) at first. I feel like I lost some lifes due to RNG at some point, where I didn't get the required fruit for 10+ rounds, which was a bit frustrating.
Cool game! The gameplay is fun and original, and the humor is a nice addition. It starts out quite challenging, where sometimes I felt like I had no choice but to leave a big block behind. An easier start would be nice for new players, so that they can figure out the mechanics without a lot of pressure. Overall a nice and polished game, congrats!
I really like how the game gets harder as your food source is getting chopped down, a nice way to combine the gameplay with the story/morale of the game. I think you hit the right mark with the difficulty, because it's difficult enough to pose a challenge during your first game, but not so different that it's impossible to win. It would be nice if there was some kind of feedback that the diggers are disabled (like a smoke effect or similar), because at first I tried to kill them with the nuts.
I think this would be a very cool game if some of the issues are worked out. As others have noted, the input bugs with the 2 engines is the biggest issue. It would also be nice if after resetting the thrusters would be at the same place instead of going to the default places. This would allow you to make small adjustments in your set up. I would like it if you kept working on this, because the core of the game is really solid, and can be a fun web/mobile game.
Cool game! It's very polished and the premise is silly, but fun. You asked for more feedback in your post, so here it goes:
The controls are obviously very floaty, which I suppose is intentional, but it does make the game a bit frustrating. I wanted to stash the friends stuff in the lower right corner, but because of the slow movement that took to long to keep up with the fuel/shields. Perhaps it would be more fun if attacks came in waves, so that you wouldn't have to focus on three things at once. It was hard to notice when the fuel/shield/friend was low on health because the health bars were all the way in the corner. I think it would be better if the bars were over the objects themselves, and if there were some kind of notification when the object was low on health, so you can focus on it. Picking objects up was a bit fiddly because the prompt to pick it up showed up before you were close to picking it up. Also, you don't know which item(s) you are going to pick up before doing it. That could be solved by highlighting the object when it grabable.
I hope the feedback is useful for you. Overall it's a very complete and playable game, good job!
Cool game, I've seen a couple of 'running out of memory space' type games, but I think this is one of the best implementations. Controls were a bit fiddly, but fine after you got used to it. I think the game balance could use some tweaking, since I never used the fireballs. I was able to complete the game just by moving around and spamming shoot. A good rule for shooting games like this is that there should always be a small reason not to shoot, for example recoil or limited ammo. Overall a fun game, so good job!
Pretty cool game. I was very motivated to get to the end, but gave up in the end because I got wrecked by the debris moving at light speed too often. Simple mechanics, but well executed and fun to play!
Beautiful game, good job! Very impressive what you've put together in just a weekend.
@scottyseus Hmm weird, it is possible to make multiple ramps. I think it's caused by the fact that the ramp takes up more space that the model really shows, so it can be unintuitive where it's allowed to place a ramp.
I could not get it to work on Linux, both my monitors showed a black screen from which I couldnt exit
It's a cool interpretation of the theme. It would be nice if you could do more with the movement, as standing still is the best strategy now. Also the balance is a bit off, as you get overwhelmed quite fast. But it's a cool game at its core
I quite like the atmosphere of the game, very relaxing. I think if the mechanics were a little bit deeper this could be a very chill clicker-like game. Small nitpick: I had to clean my monitor before I was able to see the dark gray pod on the planet.
@greenbluebit Perhaps also going to the moons of Mars and balancing out the resources between the bodies. Or having various kinds of pods that produce different resources, which you have to balance out.
Nice game, very well executed. The overall mood and polish is really good. I think the length of the game is good for a jam game, I wish it was a bit more difficult though. Sometimes I got a bug where the character would stand on nothing after pushing a block, but this wasn't game breaking. But overall it's a really solid entry.
This is an excellent game, great job! I love strategy games and resource management, and you nailed this. The whole gameplay that the stuff you produce also produces 'waste' that you have to get rid of is genius. Normally with strategy games the solution is straight forward, but you managed to make it into a puzzle game, which is awesome. I managed to beat the second level after a couple of tries, and I'm sure I can beat the third level with some tinkering. This is also one of the best implementations of the theme that I've played so far.
This is exactly the type of game that I love, and the implementation is great, so congrats!
Loving the art style and sound effects, the game feels very polished and juicy. The gameplay is simple, but well executed.
@hilvon Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't aware of any performance issues. Did you play the WebGL version? If so, you could try the desktop version, which should perform better for old laptops (especially if you chose a low resolution).
I noticed after the compo was over that the jump physics are framerate dependent, so if anyone's experiencing issues while the game is laggy, try the above advice.
Nice, I like the art style. The gameplay and controls are nice as well. The ent enemies were kind of awkward, because there is no feedback when they are hit or not.
Also, I saw that you added extra gameplay after the jam, which isn't really kosher and against the rules of LD. I'd suggest uploading the old version you people can judge your game fairly
Lovely game, managed to survive the lockdown. I didn't feel like there was strategy to the game, but I liked how polished and complete the game was. Good entry!
Very original concept, I can dig it. It was pretty hard to tell exactly what was going on, and to see what effects your actions had, but it was still fun to try to balance the planet. I think it could be improved by adding more UI to show the state of the world (creature count per species for instance), and to add more control to the game by letting you change specific species parameters. Still, great entry, props for coming up with something completely original.
Hmm, using Java 8 on Ubuntu 16.04, I get the following stack trace [](https://gist.github.com/Walnoot/eef68fe2cade1927e72eb8e1dd9a83ec). Let me know if this can be fixed, the game looks interesting!
Great game, very charming and the humor was on point. I liked that there was an unique, QWOP like skill too it. Even when it was frustrating, it was still fun to draw yourself out of the problem.
Cool mechanic, haven't seen anything like this before. I like that you had to figure out for yourself that the asteroids are lighter towards the center.
Cool game, beat it on my second try. Music is great, the game could use with a bit more difficulty/variety once you go down a bit
