LD38 — A Small World

The Mother of All Games by sorceress 2017-05-16T00:24:16Z

An amazing amount of content put in from such little time! Though that damn snake lvl 3, the speed was just off of what I was expecting and any lapse in concentration and I'd turn early and lose..

Timeless by Chaseplays 2017-05-09T00:05:45Z

I really like this game. Simple, yet fun to play. Also, level 1BC is just cruel trying to get the apple.

Space Travel 15 by jk5000 2017-05-13T00:32:36Z

Needs keyboard commands for some of the actions to make it easier/faster to interact, such as selecting a destination or go. I find myself adding passengers on one side of the screen, then choosing destination on the other, then moving back to the other side again just to say go; so I end up spending more time moving the mouse than passengers.

Purr Evil by husky 2017-05-13T05:44:33Z

I just love the dull 'thump' and stopping of the music when you get squashed. It's a very cute (and slightly frustrating) game.

RETROHACKER 1993 by Flatgub 2017-05-06T17:26:22Z

What an amazing concept! You absolutely should continue developing this. (And add autocompete command on tab)

SmallHexWorld by japes 2017-05-16T00:34:41Z

You can really get hurt early if you are given wastelands or farms (with no water before) at the start. Still, it's an interesting game, I can see lots of potential to expand upon it.

Koffer by pragmascript 2017-05-06T18:19:11Z

It looks rather pretty, especially when the plants are grown, but not being able to move the camera (besides rotating) makes it difficult to find and hit all the globes.

Quantum Frustum by nusan 2017-05-13T01:52:06Z

Amazing entry. I can easily see this expanded into one seriously mind warping game.

Small Atomic World War by Kroute 2017-05-09T00:34:54Z

Almost impossible to control it precise enough to collect the bits. Multiple times I've been so close to picking one up as I slide all around it and then it just disappears as I finally manage to roll over it, so I don't get anything. Especially annoying when you see all the enemy particles automatically pulling in any bits around them. I see you can buy that power too, but I can't seem to get enough to buy it.

It's an interesting game, I'm just not good enough to play it.

Ascension by drkr 2017-05-15T23:02:57Z

Some rather cute graphics, and the audio fits well (though there doesn't seem to be sound on the last hit?). Bit disappointed when shooting the other alien didn't give me an instant game over. But the biggest question I have is how'd the other alien get my ship to the roof so quickly _and_ fix it?

Lonely Moon by manou 2017-05-13T04:50:49Z

I get what you were going for with the keys, but esdf is a rather uncomfortable placement. Interesting entry though, took me a few tries to piece together what I was suppose to do, then a few more to get it done in time.

Super Smash Globes by 100th_Coin 2017-05-13T17:03:20Z

I like the depth of having to plan out the whole fight before it even starts. Though I was a bit disappointed when I was able to defeat the last guy in only three turns.

Colonized Panda by Pashok 2017-05-17T00:22:04Z

This is quite an interesting game. I actually went through to see all of the different endings, funnily enough the rebels was the hardest one to get. It'd be nice to see the snail colonies growing on the panda, but I'm sure that was a limitation of time. It looks well polished nonetheless.

Submerged by walnoot 2017-05-06T21:40:05Z

Needs a count of how many floors you are above the water by. It's quite fun though, and I like that just one little mistake when placing a factory can cause a whole bunch of problem on subsequent floors.

Tiny Planet by Matt Fabius 2017-05-13T01:36:35Z

Not every mouse has a scroll wheel, best to have an alternative if it's a required action to make it through the tutorial. If I select a character in a fence and click to move outside the closed gate it crashes:

The error was: uncaught exception: abort(142) at jsStackTrace (Tiny Planet.asm.framework.unityweb:2:27465) stackTrace (Tiny Planet.asm.framework.unityweb:2:27636) abort (Tiny Planet.asm.framework.unityweb:4:31788) ...

Also, one of the characters got stuck just outside the gate, but the other was sucked up by the rocket, so I had no recourse but to restart the whole game..

Crustal by Coffee Bland 2017-05-13T05:12:05Z

Interesting control scheme and the graphics are done well, but wow does that get difficult fast!

Small World by JimmyBG 2017-05-06T18:02:28Z

The graphics are gorgeous, and the concept has great potential, but I have to agree with other comments that the controls are just too unforgiving. A small mistake at the end of a level and all the work you did is useless. Also, I got stuck when pulling a block on a higher level towards me, and `R` apparently restarts the entire game rather than just the current level..

Quantum World by Paul Nadan 2017-05-13T03:16:40Z

Very unclear what certain actions will result. Sometimes I link(?) cubes and they both change color when one passes through a gate, other times one disappears in a gate and the other turns color.

Cubical by earthcollapse 2017-05-16T00:49:11Z

Really like the art style on this one. Only complaint is that it doesn't become challenging at any point, more like a casual trolley game.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

TASCAR by phaze0 2018-04-23T14:53:18Z

I wanted to do the classic text adventure adage of mostly leaving the player on their own to find out the commands. The help blurb should be enough to get you started, but there's more if you experiment (or sneak a look at the source files).

Type it like Schumacher! by Linky439 2018-04-27T02:09:45Z

Text-based racing game.. why does that sound familiar? :b The frequency this game allows input is incredibly slow and almost always messes up my commands. Other than that, I quite like your implementation of the genres. I even managed to win a race once!

Drift'N'Run by feips 2018-04-24T02:44:56Z

I really like the concept, but the car is so hard to control. And the reverse controls are backwards which kept tripping me up.

Xenoperil: You Must Survive by tyranosaw 2018-04-27T01:32:21Z

If I try to refill my hunger then my energy goes down, but if I try to refill my energy then my hunger goes down. I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, but I guess that's the point? Interesting concept though and I like the art.

Trebuchet Town by Nuthen 2018-05-03T05:10:58Z

That was rather fun and the graphics look fantastic. I usually ended up being more accurate than I thought, at least, while the ground was empty.

aVOID by boats 2018-04-29T18:05:12Z

Quite a fun mix of genres, though far too often I get a start that doesn't let me advance more than three tiles up.

Thrust Vector by pogo 2018-04-29T18:52:36Z

Utterly delightful game. The mechanics are just so unique and the art style is gorgeous.

Gouf & Goblins by ErikU 2018-04-27T01:48:29Z

I won, but there were still a lot of goblins, but I won! Even though I placed a bunch of towers around the hole at first and then they avoided all of them.. I think knowing their path would have helped.

The Call of Cthulhu - Puzzle Edition by bombjack 2018-04-24T02:52:13Z

Rather interesting mechanic and it's clever, even took a few tries to figure out the last bit with the garbage papers. Shame it's so short though.

Splitscreen Hide N Seek by PackNSlash 2018-04-24T03:04:13Z

This is hilarious, and one of those few combinations that match the theme perfectly. Even more so that the only screen shown on the "eyes closed" counting is the hiders.

On The Fly by qkjosh 2018-04-27T02:38:48Z

It's a quaint game, and I'm sure it gets challenging fighting another player over control (unfortunately I've no way to test it). But even limiting to one set of still gives a bit of challenge. The graphics are gorgeous for a jam game too!

Par 99 by notnullnotvoid 2018-04-26T00:31:59Z

Only 4 over par! Quite like this one, between the graphics and the seamless merging of nearly polar opposite genres.
