Looks like your Mac link takes me to a Windows or maybe Linux build. I'd expect to see a .app. If this is Unity, you should do a WebGL build too.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD38 → Small Atomic World War

Fixed ! Thanks for the info.
Neat! Mac version worked on my machine.
It's funny, I found your game after you commented on mine, and it seems we had a similar idea! I think the interactions in your game are more sophisticated go (especially in terms of the AI).
Great job with the music and sound too.
Fun idea and great execution.
The inertia is a bit too high in my opinion - it makes collecting protons/neutrons difficult. But after some time I almost got used to it.
I managed to become Argon, then got into fight and came out as Sulphur... For me it is quite difficult to focus on both shooting and particle collecting and bullet dodging. Staying near a group of atoms fighting each other and collecting the scraps worked for me quite well.
Argh! I got to lvl 71 but than 3 small molecules sandwiched me and took me down.
Why did I not read the LD-Page sooner? I had around 44 neutrons and never used a single bonus. I had quite the journey with the title. At first it felt super frantic and hectic, after a short while I was just collecting whatever the other molecules dropped during their all out war, while later I almost felt a little lonely walzing through the level as a big ball, basically fleeing before any of those small and greedy atoms.
I had a little trouble of seeing my shots because of the underlying shadow and the difference of height (does this depend on the ballsize too?). Also jumping and general maneuverability really had quite the learning curve associated with it. However in the end I had quite the pleasent time, while my girlfriend sat next to me fact-checking the names with her periodic table. :D Your choice of music was excellent too!
cheers~
I love this game! I only wish it was easier to get to high elements
You have a solid game idea right here. The only problem I had with it was the controls, they felt a bit too slow and should have been a bit more responsive. Other than that i enjoyed playing it.
For this being your second game, it’s great. Keep on making games and you’ll be a great developer. Have an awesome day!
*(I'll be back again on Sunday when the judging starts)*

Nice game, I tried to steal the atoms of bigger elements while they were fighting against others ^^. The controlls are a bit hard, I kept rolling to far.
Reminds me of Agar.io but with way more action packed into it. Concept with atom war is pretty amusing and gameplay is entertaining in overall, the way player level up is interesting.
Cool game, I liked how the protons you picked up add to the overall shape of the atom.
I found that getting in the battles and shooting other atoms pretty useless, as the other atoms would grab the protons for a distance while you had to go over them, so any that I lost would go straight to the AI and any that I shoot off would go to another AI, ended up just rolling between each battle picking up the protons to level up.
Hey nice concept well realised! Mabye could be polished a little bit for the graphics art but still really fun to play!
The interpretation of "small world" was really great. I enjoyed playing the game, but it was really hard for me to get over lever 20, because it was nearly impossible to control atoms with more levels and it was a bit hard to collect free protons (I wasn't able to get near enough fast enough).
It was pretty fun at beginning, but after a while it kind a gets out of balance and just becomes too grindy. You reach a point where almost all the guys are small and thus kill you easily, on top of that when they are small they seem to knock you up in the air immobilizing you and combine that with the atom level change freeze/stopping and all the fun goes out the window. Another problem i feel is that the droped protons and neurons disappear too fast and also glitch disappear, like they disappear when falling from a height and sometimes when you collect them with the collection skill, it will fling them and they will disappear too.
So in short, beginning fun, mid to end not so much.
That said i really liked the whole atom idea.
Its hard to control. But the game itself is really cool and the music is awesome.
I had a lot of fun playing this game.
I like that there is a final level I have to reach, although I only managed to get to level 52. I thought the controls were a bit hard but I got used to them in the end.
I didn't like the way the particles bounced in the air, and since it's a top down view, it makes it hard to tell if they are grounded. As my atom grew, I noticed the rays were passing over the other atoms. Since all the other atoms I came across were smaller I had no way of dealing damage to them but they could hit me. I think keeping everything grounded and having the rays fire from the same height would greatly improve this game.
Apart from that it was very fun. Well done!
Extremely hard to control, but fun.
Well that was fun! I love elements games - but did find the controls not as responsive as I'd like. It takes too long to change direction. But, it is a great game and has a lot of potential. Hope you'll make it bigger and better!
Good interpretation of the theme. The controls are a bit difficult at times. And the radius for collecting protons could be a bit more forgiving or even letting the atom attract the particles within a certain radius. very cool entry.
Hey guys thanks for all your nice comments. You're absolutely right about the controls and the difficulty balance. I actually didn't have the time to properly play-test my game before submitting it. I'll try to upload an enhanced version soon.
Cheers
A good top-down shooter which fits with the theme. The aesthetic is unusual. A solid entry ++
Very nice! It was a bit difficult to pick up the protons and neutrons. I noticed I could zoom in/out so I zoomed in to pick them up. It made it a bit easier.
Nice take on an endless shooter.
As already mentioned - the controls are a little unforgiving. I found it very difficult to pick up the protons and neutrons - and then I was spending so long trying to pick them up that I was getting shot repeatedly. One solution (which is what I did in my game) is to have the pick-ups attracted to the player when they are close enough. One other issue - due to the plain background, it's difficult to realise that you are moving sometimes (until the small mountain range is on screen). This made it much harder to hit my targets because I didn't realise we were both moving in the same direction. However, despite these little issues - this is a great idea and, with a little polish, could be great!
It's a cool idea and I played for quite a while but like others mentioned at some point it just becomes too hard to get bigger. The AI enemies having the quantum gravitation bonus always active and due to the physics-y behavior of the gamma rays it seems impossible to hit smaller enemies. That made it a bit frustrating in the end but overall pretty nice.
Edit: Made it to the end by running away a lot and picking up atoms here and there without trying to interfere.
Very nice shooter game: I like the concept very much! It was quite engaging.
However, it was really hard to control my atom (it actually got esier aroud level 8 or 10). The atom was going so fast, and I couldn't turn properly... Also, I'm not quite sure of the 3d, since it's a top down game... It only got confusing for me when the molecule was up in the air...
I still really like the concept, the graphics and the feel of the game. Your choice of music really did made the game fun and action-paced. We actually chose that exact same track in a previous Ludum Dare, so I thought it was a funny coincidence. So in short: well thought game!
Ps. Thanks for the comment on our game! We're very sorry our game crashed... We didn't catch that bug when we playtested the game. Hopefully you still got to enjoyed the game before!
Cool game with a really interesting take on the theme. As others have said the controls need some work, I'd often find myself circling protons attempting to collect them. I think its currently one of the upgrades but it would be nice if you always pulled in particles towards you if you got within a certain range, to make collection easier. Overall, very well done!
Atomic mayhem! :D I only made it to atomic number 20, I think, for a moment. 100% theme :)
Really fun concept! Atomic free-for-all! The controls are a little floaty for my taste but they were workable. It seemed like part-way through the game enemy atoms became offset from their hitboxes and weren't registering hits consistently, which made it hard to play. Was a ton of fun though! Nice art, nice music, nice idea, fun game, good project!
Almost impossible to control it precise enough to collect the bits. Multiple times I've been so close to picking one up as I slide all around it and then it just disappears as I finally manage to roll over it, so I don't get anything. Especially annoying when you see all the enemy particles automatically pulling in any bits around them. I see you can buy that power too, but I can't seem to get enough to buy it.
It's an interesting game, I'm just not good enough to play it.
Pretty cool, but I struggled a bit with controlling my movement. Having to be very exact to pick up protons and neutrons meant a lot of futile sailing-by. I played for around 12 minutes and had just gone down from level 12 to level 10 after a few bump-ins, and never made enough money to buy anything but a temporary speed upgrade.
Visually it's simple, but that works for the concept. Not sure I really like white as a background, that may have aided my decision to stop. The fonts become difficult to read as you zoom out too.
An interesting take on the concept, a little more polish and it'll be pretty good!

Nailed the theme. It was sometimes difficult to navigate the atom but I guess that was intended. Interesting concept. Congrats!
Love the chemistry in it. Some issues with lasers sticking around, movement was difficult at time, even if intended took away from the experience. so much "ice" physics. Overall awesome concept and game.
