I really liked the graphics! But the game is HARD.

The game is awesome dude. The idea is great for a mobile game or something like that. I have to said that 'The Void' goes pretty fast and it makes the game reeeeally difficult xD
Nvm. Good job ^^
It's pretty difficult, but very well polished casual game!
Ouch, this game doesn't fit my 1366x768 screen. =( But anyway, it is awesome! I love fast-paced games. The question is: why does the final screen always tell me that my score is zero? I'm pretty sure it isn't. =)
Really fun for a GameJam game and also very smooth gameplay. Nice work, keep it up. I would also love to see a mobile version. :D
Very challenging little game, didn't really match the theme (but we all know the theme is there just to give us a general idea of what to make) but it sure is a lot of fun!
Well, I could easily imagine this one mixed with a rhytm game, as chip tune is sticky and you could get some bonuses for moving in sync with it
Very addictive game! The concept is pretty simple but efficient. In addition, the scoreboard is a good idea, it gives even more interest to the game. But, it's hard to see exactly how it mix 2 incompatibles genres for me.
PS: I'm actually 3rd with a score of 176 :p
Clever game but it seemed a little too random in that there were not many ways of avoiding the void. Nice game.
Fun to play once you get the hang of it. The graphics and the music add to the mood. Whenever I ran into multiple dead ends in a row though, it felt like I lost due to random chance (and I think I actually did). And when I didn't get any dead ends, it felt like I got lucky. I wish the randomness there was normalized. When I got a good run though, it was fast paced and exciting!
The game felt a little too governed by RNG. I felt like I could push forward really well, but at some point I could also hit a wall and just not be able to progress because of dead ends or no paths going up. Making this more skill based could be nice, but as a simple game it worked well this was.
I enjoy it much! :D But as @nardandas said, RNG had too much to say here :D
Cool visuals, music and sound effects. Also liked the challenging gameplay, although a lot of times I died I thought it wasn't my fault as a player: - I got dead end after dead end - One time I thought I was really a head of the void and all of the sudden it catched up in less than 1 second and I died.
I did however like how short the games were, made me want to start over each time to improve my last score. The game all in all also felt very polished. Good job!
Hey, really fun game ! I made top 3 :p (244) The space mechanic is interesting. I think I had luck tho, no dead end on my latest run ^^
Cool game, needs some tweaks and some ux fixes but overall very nice
Really fun, graphics work well and the music is really pushing! The leaderboard is a nice addition to keep interest. Sometimes I felt the game was a little unfair, but well, you can't expect perfect balance in 72 hours.
Good job, have a fish <3 🐟
Nice smooth game overall. Good job!
This game is great, and it just borders amazing if it weren't for the impact RNG has on the experience.
There's more people before me who commented on this, but the power of RNG in this game is too big. Most of the time I could head straight up for a bit and get far enough away to just silence the music completely (which I do want to point out was a nice touch). It's good to get a head start, especially since The Void can catch up to you extremely quickly, but games where you don't get one get really difficult really quickly. My first run was one where I started on a branch that only went *down*, which was just absolutely horrendous. Luckily the games are short and the music is an absolute banger, which made me try again.
Other than that, the game's great. Like I said: the music's a genuine banger, the graphics are simple but good and the game felt responsive. The extra occult rooms (the "Space" ones) were a nice touch to keep you on your toes, as was the fact that making any mistake increased The Void's pace too. This makes it feel like it's your own fault for losing. Or it would do that if you weren't getting messed over by the RNG.
All in all, it's a great game, and you did an amazing job taking into account it's a Ludum Dare.
Quite a fun mix of genres, though far too often I get a start that doesn't let me advance more than three tiles up.
@Snowy Incredibly constructive comment, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Pretty great game but it's a little to difficult. I like it!! I'd have a lot of fun with this if it's on my phone!!
It is a nice game but you should change the algorithm for selecting tiles. I tried it 5 times and every single time I got the problem that it was only possible to move down a few times in a row which made me walk towardss the void.
Oh and you should be a nice guy give karma to your comments ;)
