Simple concept but great execution! Love the sound effects and the overall art style!
Amazing game, although a bit too difficult
Gameplay-wise this must be one of the most fun and polished games I've played so far! Good job!
I __absolutely__ love this! I only wish restarting would bring you back to the character selection screen so I can play as a different character next time :D
@fiakaiera, thank you for your feedback, it is very helpful! I should've taken a bit more time to polishing visuals/making some unique characters and a better fighting mechanics to keep the game fun but oh well.. I'll do better next LD!
As to hosting of my HTML5 version, I was in a huge rush during the submission process and simply couldn't get itch to properly host my game (or maybe I'm just stupid). I don't have Kongregate profile set up and it's not like I'd get any money from 20 ad views on my LD game ;p I'll look into itch again and try to get it to work now!
[Okay, I figured out why itch wasn't working, I'm changing HTML5 link to itch.io]
@pragmascript I have streamed the beginning of the first day as well as most of the second day https://www.twitch.tv/divided_by_0/videos/all some vods in here :D
Love this submission!
A few suggestions for improvements: - A way to manually select a level you want - Make colliders at the bottom of the level taller, or make walls see-through. I've "lost" a couple units there behind the bottom wall when moving hectically and couldn't figure out why I haven't lost yet :D - Make some sort of a slider representing ratio of units on each side, so you can see who has more units left in real-time.. to spice up the local multiplayer trashtalk action ;p - Sliiiightly smarter initial formations. It is a little frustrating to lose a quarter of your units in the first second because of the way they are spawned.
But still, a very solid submission! Love it!
Great game! I just wish I could use WASD instead of arrows :c arrows + mouse is not the most ergonomic combo on laptops
A really neat game overall but sadly I've encountered the same crash on the draw event
This is amazing! Replayability aspect is huge, you keep discovering new words but have to strategize on your next run to not sacrifice any much-needed letters too early Great job!
Great game but wish there was a button to fast-forward to skip through the boring parts of not killing anyone
@blackwen thank you for the review :) I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
The reason why some bodies weren't counting as a proper sacrifice is that they were not the specific targets assigned to you by Satan (you can hold Z to have assigned targets highlighted). We were trying to force the player after specific targets associated with some dialogues (some of them were not implemented) and not just kill the most convenient targets ;)
@sodaraptor @kaitlin-quick fair points, thanks for the feedback guys! I should've definitely at least removed being detected from too far of a distance. Just doesn't feel fair when you're playing.
Very challenging but fun! Props for sounds design!
I love the concept and the visuals are stunning! Will never give up my Edgar Allan Poe bust though ;p
Great concept, lovely visuals!
Mouse clicks didn't properly convert into taps on a Windows version, but I managed to get it working with a Wacom tablet+pen.
A well executed idea, fun to play, simple but very fitting graphics
As plenty of people mentioned before, art and music are __outstanding__, but unfortunately, the game is a bit lacking in the gameplay department. Wish there was more variety, perhaps even letting the player actually move around to bring orders to the counter would make the game feel a bit more lively.
Such a great entry! Graphics look extremely polished apart from a few very minor clipping issues, I love the artstyle. Music, story, everything is just outstanding! Great job you guys!
@carraka Hi! Sorry for a possible confusion, gas is just a type of "raw" resource, along with minerals that you can find and mine at some planets to later trade for "refined" resources such as fuel and provision (used for actions). We could've thought of a better naming scheme/way to differentiate those.
@historymaker118 Thanks for such an elaborated review and all the kind words! I really wish I had more time (don't we all haha) to polish certain aspects of the game, especially balancing, maybe introducing a proper tutorial or visual cues to guide player's attention to resources they are about to run out off and some hints on what to do next. You are entirely correct, the game takes a bit too much figuring out in the current state, especially for people who are not so familiar with the genre. Cheers!
For me, the game just hangs after I die, like the first comment mentioned, which is unfortunate, it looks very well polished, love the art and music! Hope you patch this soon!
Great graphics and music, really make the atmosphere work for me. Controls aren't great but you can just perceive them as an extra challenge ;p Awesome job overall!
All around amazing entry, extremely fun to play. Didn't have issues with controls personally.
I'm in love with those floppy robot arms! Huge props to the character artist! And good job overall, wish the game was a bit longer, I've beat it just as I started figuring things out :D
Is that a Hotline Miami tribute dialogue I see  take all my internet points, great game haha I just wish the combat was maybe a bit more versatile with more moving enemies etc
Amazing music and great art, although it suffers from not being pixel perfect and tiles tear from each other during player's movement. Also player rotation following the mouse looks a little derpy outside of battles, I don't move my cursor while navigating through the level so I was moonwalking half the time
Probably not the case for standalone builds, but WebGL could really use a fullscreen button (although not sure if that's technically possible with whatever tech you used for the game).
A very solid entry overall nonetheless and a fun little game, great job!
I wish the artstyle was a bit more consistent. Stick figures fit the game just fine, should've made everything else the same doodly art. Great job on the voice acting, made me giggle quite a bit playing the game :D
Great submission! Only wish the terminal had a little more functionality like history of ran commands and auto-completion, and maybe a second tab/notepad window to write down notes for yourself within the game. Other than those little QoL bits, the game is great, well done!
The amount of polish on this game is absolutely incredible. Love the music, all the transitions and visual effects, amazing feel! Great job guys.
This is absolutely fantastic! Love the atmosphere, the game silently restarting itself and days being repetitive like that really plays well with the theme of descending into a mental illness. I seem to have tried every combination out there is but like some of the other commenters wasn't sure if I have seen all the endings. Wish there was more of this game!
The only issue I've had was the mouse sensitivity being too high, maybe a slider on the intro screen would be helpful.
Well done!
A really lovely experience! Love the art, the music, sets the mood perfectly! Platforming was rather challenging, but it suits the game.
Also seeing a dozen of red eyes moving at you from the dark is 👌 a perfect sprinkle of panic I needed at this time haha
Well done!
Cool game with cute graphics and upbeat atmosphere!
I wish the puzzles were a little more variative, maybe being able to hop back into a larger cat would make for an interesting partial back-tracking (for closing some doors you have previously opened etc?).
Well done!
Brilliant entry, loved every single bit of it, bravo! Got to Eden on the second try, after getting hang of the concept the game is pretty easy, but I've had so much fun, especially the narration. Well done!
Well, that's a one creepy uncle 😂 also driving in the middle of the road.. Adds to that slight panic of finding the right words to say haha Great execution visually and musically too, loved it!
I like everything about this game except for the traps/platforming aspect, it just feels so forced to fit the theme. So a great game overall, but doesn't quite hit the theme for me. Amazing job nonetheless!
I love the concept! Execution is great too, except it took me a bit to figure out at what point I had to press my buttons.
Great work Phil! I really liked the graphics, audio and the overall atmosphere it created. The gameplay was good too, but it feels a little raw. The only way to take damage and die is if you kick the ball in some awkward place that is hard to recover, which is all on the player to mess up. I feel you should have capitalized on that and maybe create a simple second type of zombies who would be a little faster ones specifically targetting the ball (as in kicking it away from you). They could contest your control of the ball and make the game more difficult (although maybe a bit frustrating at times), but a lot more fun to play. Solid entry nonetheless!
This game is amazing all around, but sooo difficult >_<
I love your take on this theme! Your game feels like a very organic combo that goes well together and makes both platformer and turn-based game into something completely different, like a new puzzle sub-genre of a kind. Good job on nailing it!
How did approach creating those water reflections? Is it a custom screenspace reflection shader? Looks very nice and immediately caught my attention making me die at least 5 times just looking at the water ;p Great game overall though, amazing graphics, interesting gameplay and it also feels very polished!
@AfroAnt thanks for your playthrough and comments! My sincere apologies for the lack of Frost Giants ;p
@blobo It was a common complaint, sorry about that! I've re-uploaded archives to the itch.io with proper names just now! Thanks for playing!
@Lotus The idea was to make a **co-op game** for **one player** ;p
@Bartosz it's some vertex position offsets. It's pretty situational and the effect would depend on a number of verticies on a given model, but since I was only pretty much using it twice in the game I didn't bother creating a one-for-all use cases shader in 72 hours :D Here's a screenshot of Amplify Shader if you're curious: https://pasteboard.co/HjoAgPc.png
Great idea, music, and visuals, gameplay is a little too difficult, especially with the current controls mapping (I'd prefer WASD or maybe QWER for hitting notes so I don't have to move my hands so closely together away from my natural position)
A very nice game, minimalistic visuals that make you concentrate on the music and gameplay. I wish the transition to the beats part was a little easier, it was difficult to hop right in and not fail that part (or maybe I'm just bad at rhythm games)
Great and cute art, but the gameplay itself felt somewhat basic, reminded me of winter maps in Overcooked with nothing new and conceptually different added to that. I liked the music but I don't think it was a good fit for a game where you have to race against time and not fall from the platform, something more "stressful" would accompany the gameplay better in my opinion. Also, the "next level" button didn't work for me, so I assume there's only one level which is a bummer
