Sometimes the character becomes invisible. Overall good game. Solid work on the audio though my goodness!

I thought the art was cute, and the music was great. I also had the character go invisible sometimes.
Thanks for the kind words! we are aware of the issue regarding the south-west direction sprite and are working on a fix. Seems to have occured during export. edit: this issue has now been resolved! :) @kritz @valid
a good game, kinda confused if your planning to make puzzles in the game, attack needs to have the arm swing rather than just the stick, your dash is kinda broken sometimes I would disappear into the void and then reappear completely fine. graphics and audio is good, music and battle sounds play after death scene though.
<3
We can easily perceive the love that has been given to the design of the main character, good job!
Really fun! I'm getting lots of Hyper Light Drifter vibes from this. Movement feels solid, but I couldn't really see the point for dashing, other than getting around the map faster. Overall good job!
love the colors and movements, sound effects are there too, real nice .... need to go through with it once more to think what more to say
Cool stuff! I like the dash. The sounds are sweet. I wish it was easier to attack the boss without getting so close. Took me a while to realize I had a fireball
Kept getting a crash at the tiny child boss, but other than that was pretty fun.
@alchemic sorry to hear that. We'll look into it. Thanks for playing! :)
Enjoyed it, one of the more fun games this Jam IMO. Reminds me of Titan Souls (maybe that's what it was based off of?)
@ejmejm thanks for your kind words. Titan souls is a wonderful game that I love very dearly, and the fact that our game reminded you of one of my all time favourites makes me really happy. :)
I like the small puzzle on the left most area of the region. It took a while but it clicked eventually. The last boss is pretty cool, it made me think about my tools for a good minute. There were some weird movement collisions like when I'm next to a wall I feel like I'm sticking to it. But overall it's a pretty cool game, I enjoyed it a lot!
Cool game! I liked the music a lot and it reminded me quite a bit of the early Zelda games.
I think you were going for something like dark souls? Not sure how it fits the theme though, i was attacking and it didn't look like it was taking my health away :O
Thank you for a game. Spend some time to fight and explore :D
Love a game with boss battles, good job! There's a bit of screen tearing where you see lines between the tiles on the floor but that's a bug in most engines. I think it could really be expanded in the future for more puzzles and boss fights, but it could be good to nail down the item to life mechanic a bit more.
A little sad that when I picked up the stick, I got hurt. I thought I would be penalized for USING the stick, not just for having a friend.
I too was catching a strong Titan Souls vibe! I love the worldbuilding you guys got going on! I had a blast exploring the map and fighting those imaginative boss designs. Mechanically, the game is quite solid. But the atmosphere created by those neat graphics and great music is what sealed the deal for me. You captured the charm of exploring a foreign world, of BEING in that adventure. So yeah, I'd agree to the early Zelda game comparison, too.
I got stuck on the puzzles, though. The one on the westernmost side I solved by accident, I think. But well, I also didn't put that much time into it to get back to action.
Very well done!
Nice Game ! but the sounds are way too loud
@camcam thank you! Sorry to hear (haha) that the volume was an issue. We'll look into audio-balancing soon.
Cool boss designs, and I like that the camera pans out so you get a different view angle. Good world design, lots to explore! Nice job
@wtg thank you so much! :)
Couldn't play it at all, keeps giving the error "Failed loading file 'index.pck'"
@iagorigel sorry that happened. I'm gonna get my team to look at it right away. What operating system are you using and what browser are you trying to play the game in?
I'm using Windows 10 and tried to play it in Firefox and Edge
Really cool game. Plays well and I appreciate the 8 directional sprite animations. Solid music and fun, boss-rush gameplay. Great job!
@iagorigel thank you very much. We will look into the issue. From what we've tested, chrome seems to work so if you would like you could try to run it in that browser. I'm also going to upload a downloadable version today so that people who are having issues can play it. :)
@ryan-brenner thank you very much! Our team is incredibly proud of how our main character turned out :)
I like the boss aspect of the game, it was exciting to encounter someone new at every direction I chose to venture in. Controls were great as well.
@oort thank you! :)
Wow, overall a very nicely fleshed out game idea. I found what looked like you were going to make puzzles, but looks like it didn't come to fruition, which is fine. I also love that the enemies were full on bosses instead of little guys you could take out in one hit. I would explain the life mechanic a bit in game, one of my friends played and she didn't know why she died when she picked up an item. I would also have movement depend on direction, since that is a little odd at the moment. Otherwise, great game.
@fizzpowmike1 thank you for your kind words! Actually, the puzzles are fully functional in the game. The buttons have to be pushed in a certain sequence in order to drop an item, and the crates need to be pushed into a certain order. For the crates, there's a hint in the pathway towards the puzzle room. Glad you enjoyed the game! We were planning on explaining the "item pickup costing your life" mechanic more but ran out of time. :)
@shaner421 Oh thanks, I'll have to take a second look, and I fully understand running out of time lol
Woah! Movements were the best part. Quickly reminds me about Gungeons and Dragons.
The first boss was a little too easy, and the second a little too tought.
Also, there was some hard lag at the second boss, and maybe camera was too far from the enemy
in the overall, this was a nice experience, well done!
@memel06 thank you for the kind words! :)
Very cool game, enjoyed it a lot!
👍
@craftlord thank you! :)
@xyz 👍
Really enjoyed the music, overall pretty easy to get the idea of what to do - I wish there was some warning for how MUCH life a pickup would take.
The music is really nice, but a little bit loud. I was super lucky on the first run, got the stick, went straight for the boss killed it with almot no hp left and got the golden stick. So short but nice! Great credits by the way.
@karmicretribution thank you! if there's one thing we could've added to our entry, explaining how much life an item takes would've been top priority. However, we ran out of time. :)
@belug23 Thank you very much! Glad you found the credits. :)
This gave me the same PTSD of anger from Titan Souls haha
First impression was really good! Love the art style (a little more pixelated would've worked better in my opionion though) and the music is spot on. The mood is carried well by the songs. I'm a fan of games like this, that's why the shortcomings in the gameplay mechanics you implemented are very obvious. But in spite of the criticque, I really enjoyed playing through the level and beating up the bosses :) Some of the puzzles went over my head though. But apperently I could get to the end without dealing with them.
Heres some feedback regarding the mechanics: The camera is way behind your player character when running in a specific direction, which maks it harder to anticipate whats coming in front of you. That's not a dealbreaker in your game, since there are no normal mob eneemies in the level. First time around, I died on the demonic looking enemie that shoots fireballs from his small hitbox, what made it really annoying to fight him since my range with my stick was really short. Would've been better if he shot the fireballs from his hands. (i think they were burning already). Second playthrough i rushed through the rooms and bosses and killed them pretty easily because there seems to be no attack cooldown on the pc. i could just circle them and spam them away. That made it a little TOO easy ;)
Thanks for making this! I enjoyed myself
I liked The puzzles and character desighn and animation. Music is also very good. However, it would be great if you developed the theme a bit more :)
Really fun little game, except perhaps for the fact that you can rush the final boss and beat him into submission with a stick. Otherwise, the game feels smooth and is fun to play.
Good job !
@fluffy-kaeloky thank you! We designed it like that because we really liked how in breath of the wild you can go and attack the final boss right from the start. We thought that if you had the option to fight the final boss and lost, you would be more incentivized to go and search for better tools. Probably should have made that more clear, but as always time gets on the way :) thanks for playing!
Nice! I got to whoop some bosses with a stick! The music could do with a little variation and tension in the big boss battles. Some of the puzzles were a little confusing but I got there in the end. Well done all-round
@jamesolivermusic thanks very much for playing! Hopefully next time around I can make some truly ominous and powerful music for the bosses. :)
@duke thank you very much for the detailed feedback, we were talking about possibly expanding on this idea later this year and your feedback is very helpful considering its from an objective viewpoint. I agree with you on the camera needing to be ahead of the player, and that's probably going to be one of the first things we fix if we expand on this game. Hitboxes were an issue that would have been corrected had we had more time. Thank you again for your feedback! :)
Thank you for a game, the experience is pleasant. : D. Will be cool if we could see life of life makes us want to take an object.
Really nice game and cute MC.
Think I got lucky on my playthrough with beating the fireball boss into the final (?) boss, which made my run pretty short :D
@kaiomoi thank you for playing! we were planning to add ui that would explain how much blood an item takes from you, but we ran out of time. :)
@zanagi Thanks for playing! We designed it similar to breath of the wild where you could go straight for the final boss with the stick, or explore a bit and gather items/solve puzzles to face the final boss better prepared :)
@shaner421 I understand, we never really have time to do everything we want during a jam. If you add the UI later, please notify me: D
Amazing music and great art, although it suffers from not being pixel perfect and tiles tear from each other during player's movement. Also player rotation following the mouse looks a little derpy outside of battles, I don't move my cursor while navigating through the level so I was moonwalking half the time
Probably not the case for standalone builds, but WebGL could really use a fullscreen button (although not sure if that's technically possible with whatever tech you used for the game).
A very solid entry overall nonetheless and a fun little game, great job!
@sempiternal thank you very much! the fullscreen issue was my fault, I designed the UI and it doesn't scale so were stuck at the resolution i made it, and The pixel perfect issue was also my fault because I designed the camera lmfao. If we decide to update the game I'll have to do the most work i think lol. thanks for playing!
Loved the graphics. Very cool that the character turns in each direction. I could not solve the riddles( Management was very convenient. A cool decision that each boss has his own musical theme. A short but very pleasant adventure.
Thanks a lot @max-torn! I think next time we'll make the puzzles a bit easier, it seems quite a few people got stuck on them. :)
This was a little short, but also fun! Having to choose which weapons to collect or leave made it engaging. Speaking of the weapons, I'm glad there was only one slot for the item, as opposed to having an overly complicated UI-- it kept the gameplay from feeling interrupted and made for a more fluent feel. All around, this is a good entry!
@hunter-towe thank you very much for playing! I agree that it is short, we tried to keep it at a really small scope in order to not over-do it considering this is the first game we've ever completed. :)
Nice work! I love classic dungeon runners. I hit the Skeletal Floating guy first which had a cool "death" character from Adventure Time feel! Loved that!! :)
Good entry! Cute art work and i love your music. The boss who drops nothing is very loud, it scared me :D Wish you guys good luck, thanks for the game!
Hi! I liked this game, the artstyle of the bosses was very good.
Things I don't like:
- Switching scale of the camera when you enter in a boss zone. - When I grab the stick I get hurt! D: - I don't really understand how you kill those bosses with a stick hahaha.
Things I liked:
- The artstyle of the characters. - Music and the changes in different zones, made me don't get looped. - The habilities of the character and the FX's
Hey, you're right! Our games are really quite similar
I really like your art!
For the gameplay: It felt a little bit to easy, just walkin around all the bosses with the stick got them easily killed. While walking over the map I sometimes felt a little bit disoriented, caused by the slow following cam. Perhaps you could lock the final boss, before you defeated all the others. First time I was there really early and finished the game by accident.
It wasn't clear for me, that the stick ends the game.
One Bug I found was that you can still attack in the credits. You can hear the sound FX.
If you're able to structure your game a little bit better the next time, it will be truely great!
Keep it up, guys!
The 8-way movement was looked and felt good for a game jam, the music was nice, and the game felt fun to play. It was a bit confusing at times - i.e. what were the 3 sliding blocks for? I also fought a non-boss character and got an item but I had no way of telling what it was.
I'm getting some Titan Souls + Hyper light drifter vibes. Which is awesome! Congrtats and good entry!
Quite a great game! I really like boss battle-based games, and I love the "megaman-esque" aspect that you can get the boss you killed's weapon. Very good, even better when you think it's your first ever game jam. Great job guys!
I love the music and graphics, they are good, also like the game in general except I think that cthulu boss need a smoke screen or something when he teleport, because when he does, it feel too raw, also same things when boss dies.
For some reason this really took me back to the first Dragon Quest game! Just something about going from boss to boss, improving in strength and ability from beating one to go on to the next one. Had a bunch of fun with this one. Downloading it is definitely suggested over playing in browser imo. tho! Good job on this

@ursagames just watched your playthrough, thanks for checking it out! Glad you had fun, and that people got to see the credits from my incredible team. :)
Not sure why picking things up hurt me, I really wanted that sword :( I love the zoom out for boss battle mechanic really cool touch. Great job on the character we did a lot of animations on ours too came to be about 100 frames. The only thing that got me a bit was the walking sound fx, little too loud. Awesome game keep up the great work!
@pcoridan thanks for playing! The reason it hurt you was because you trade your blood for items. Thats our take on "your life is currency" :)
A fun little fighting game, with a great visual style and some good music. Sadly the game stopped working when I tried fighting a small enemy. But overall pretty good LD game.
The level is quite confusing, but it's a great entry.
Really enjoyed the game, the first time i killed the fire boss and got this his skill as one of my attacks was super cool and gratifying, also when i finally figure out the sword puzzle i was like "Yeah! got a sword!". The game could use some minions though, is kind boring walking around the map with nothing to do until you reach a boss or one of the puzzles. And as some pointed out it feels strange to lose hp for pickin up an item, with no explanation to why this happens, if there's one i totally missed it.
Love the music for this. I let it sit at the main scree for a while, honestly. I think it's cute how the attack animations are away from the body. Reminds me of Rayman a little bit. Everything was fluid, but I do agree with @edevjogos about adding minions. Think it'd make it more action packed and less walking sim. Nice job, though.
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my livestream!

Great job on this! Loved the art style! Movement felt smooth but it took me a minute to figure out how exactly the teleport worked. Maybe some sort of in-game tutorial or area you have to use that ability to get past might help teach that. Also maybe I'm a bit dense but I never figured out the puzzles but it didn't seem necessary to beat the game?I loved the feel of the fire attack. Once I got that it's all I used! Anyway great job!
