LD38 — A Small World

Earth Quest by Jiri_One 2017-05-13T18:51:14Z

The mechanics are a little hard to understand. Even after reading the help page, I didn't really know the direct influence all of my decisions had on the planet. Like @adhesion said, giving some feedback on when things happen would do a lot for the game. The only thing I bought during the game was the light bulb. It seems to always increase the happiness rating, whereas buying trees always seems to lower the happiness rating. This game has great potential; it just needs to be worked on a little more. Cool entry!

Cardboard Cats Online by Ilseroth 2017-04-29T21:36:57Z

The game is a lot of fun! I got my character up to level five, then beat the bosses multiple times. I really like the visuals. If more content was added, I'd play it longer.

Starstruck Ducky by HuvaaKoodia 2017-04-29T22:06:56Z

Playing through the game was fun, even if it is a bit short. Unlocking new ducks feels pretty good, and the moment of suspense that you feel whenever you ask to meet a duck is great to have. If this game were expanded upon, I'd definitely play it more.

Ruined Topology by jebouin 2017-04-29T21:03:37Z

I love the art style and music for this game! I only managed to get the first couple of coins, but it's really well done.

My Purpose by Maldo19 2017-05-03T04:05:04Z

The best thing about this game is the mood. The ambiance and story telling combine to create a very dynamic feeling. The gameplay is fun, but the controls could be worked on a little. Even after reading the controls, they felt pretty awkward. That could just be me though :yum: Great job on this game!

MARBLE GALAXY by Connorses 2017-04-29T22:05:09Z

Nice concept. I like the ways the enemies look. I was on low health, and tried to pick up a health pack. It just disappeared and didn't give me any health. It needs polish, but it's got solid mechanics, which is always good.

It Seemed so big... by lozzadawg 2017-04-29T22:13:23Z

There doesn't seem to be much gameplay. It's got some potential, but I wouldn't call it a game in it's current state. The graphics are nice, and the mechanics work, but there doesn't really seem to be something to work for. I hope this helps.

Crumpets and Cannons by Temmy 2017-05-03T22:58:35Z

I love the art style this game has to offer! It's got a nice concept, which could easily be expanded upon. I would love to play it if you ever make an updated version.

Tiny Planet, Big Universe by Daveybb 2017-04-29T21:41:40Z

It's nice for a first attempt. The game has solid mechanics, but nothing much else besides that.

Bitverse by klekky 2017-04-25T22:34:44Z

@thatfrankguy you have to stand near it and right click on it. There should be a list of controls in the main menu.

Bitverse by klekky 2017-05-01T03:47:31Z

@simonhutchinson You can teleport to places after selecting a level from the ship console. To teleport to the level, press E on the red X in the ship. There should be a list of controls both on the itch.io page and in the main menu screen. I have edited the page in order to make them more clear.

1/10 not enough spaghetti...

Seven Pillars by Jeremy Ryan 2017-05-01T22:32:53Z

This game has all the right pieces to become a very addictive game! It has simple mechanics that are hard to master, and great music to go along with it. It also doesn't appear to be a remake of a game with a similar mechanic, so that really adds to the interest in it. As @talon said earlier, having a consequence for pressing wrong keys would greatly add to the skill and satisfaction. Also, if I was trying to guess the theme just from playing the game, I probably wouldn't even be close. Other than that, it's a really solid game, which has obvious amounts of time and energy put into it. Great job!

Lonely Planets by Death_Is_Cold 2017-04-29T22:25:10Z

Not really sure what to say about this. I wouldn't really call it a game, but more like an experience. That being said, the art style is really nice and I enjoyed playing through it. It's a bit hard to tell what the characters are saying because the text is not all the way in the textbox, but it was a fun little experience nonetheless.

RASHLANDER by ryguydavis 2017-04-29T21:12:00Z

The game is really fun, and I love the art style :grinning: It's pretty frustrating, but the mechanics work like they're supposed to so I can't really complain. A suggestion would be to make the view slightly more zoomed out? The most frustrating part is when a random rock pops up from off screen and kills me. I think a bigger view could help with that, but it could also just be that I suck.

Kill Boom (singleplayer + multiplayer) by Headlein 2017-04-29T21:52:24Z

The visuals are nice, but I have a couple of problems with the gameplay. The bullets seem to fire before the player model rotates, causing them to fire in a complete opposite direction from where I'm aiming. Besides that, the game seems to have a nice bit of polish.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Cyberhell Cleaner by EricQuagmire 2017-08-01T05:41:02Z

The best thing about this game is the art. The sprites are really well done. It would've been nice to use the shop. And the music is definitely... interesting. Good job on this one. One small gripe I have is that it's hard to tell how to get more energy.

Remote by oab 2017-08-03T07:41:57Z

The best thing about this game are the animations. It's a neat little game, good job on this one!

Power, MT by PhilStrahl 2017-08-07T19:14:57Z

Great job on this game! I really love how using either the flashlight or the compass could change the outcome of a situation. It really adds a lot more decision making than if you were only able to choose from a list of paths. Not to mention, the audio/atmosphere are also really well done.

Hypersquare by klekky 2017-08-01T03:36:22Z

@tad @snotrocket @artur-hawkwing Thank you guys so much for the feedback! I'm glad you found my game enjoyable.

Hypersquare by klekky 2017-08-01T05:24:55Z

@superpokeunicorn Dang, your game is pretty cool. It's pretty amazing how many mechanics you could get out of that one dash attack. I like how it has both risks and rewards. Also, I think you're mistaken. My Hypercube is one word, and yours is TWO WORDS. They're obviously different titles

Hypersquare by klekky 2017-08-01T05:43:39Z

@sno0w Yeah, I should have explained the jumps better. There is no charged jump, but if the explosion of the bullet hits you, it gives you an extra boost. Thanks for the feedback!

Hypersquare by klekky 2017-08-07T19:18:20Z

@iamsodarncool Thanks for the honest feedback. It's nice to hear an opinion from a different point of view. I'll try to see what I can do to design the levels/movement better.

Katie Kills Zombies by Iamsodarncool 2017-08-03T18:02:56Z

The best thing about this game is its art style. The gameplay is simple yet satisfying. One of the only gripes I have with it is the controls. It feels a bit awkward using the number keys to attack. Other than that, good job on this one!

Space Survival by TheAspiringHacker 2017-08-04T02:15:30Z

The shooting is slow, I couldn't find any way to recharge the power. Because even turning takes power, it really limits how far you can get in the game. A lot of balancing is needed, but the core concept has some innovation.

Nuclear Dash by Cosmo-LC 2017-08-03T07:46:40Z

It's nice for a first try. Keep on making games, they can only get better from here!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Bullet Hell by kamekai 2017-12-05T02:08:16Z

Great game! I like the simple concept and art style, and how you managed to use the theme. I kinda got annoyed at the controls, but I guess that could be considered part of the challenge. Also, you should probably put an easier way to get to this page so people can actually rate your game. Other than that, I found the game pretty fun.

Bullet Hell by kamekai 2017-12-05T02:24:05Z

The tighter turning definitely makes it better.

Glutton's Heaven by klekky 2017-12-05T01:54:29Z

@billeclipse thanks for the quick feedback!

Glutton's Heaven by klekky 2017-12-05T03:15:09Z

@stencilchris @peanutboyz @fireslash @the_doctor090 thanks for the feedback guys! And yeah, the difficulty does spike pretty hard... I had to cut some levels out due to the time limit. I'll also probably improve the dialogue when the jam is over.

Squirrel Puncher 4000! by valkling-friend-of-all-things 2017-12-05T02:18:49Z

The music is the best part about this game. The gameplay lacks depth, but it's still fun nonetheless. Also, I don't think yellow bullets should come from the bottom part of the screen, because they can sometimes be hard to see. I also couldn't tell how you implemented the theme into this game.

Somni by Timestop 2017-12-06T00:41:01Z

The best thing about this game is the art style. Unfortunately, just as I was beginning to understand the game, it crashed (right after the second solar candy). Here's the log:

The More the Merrier by Tuomo 2017-12-05T23:57:17Z

Great game with solid mechanics. I had fun playing this, so good job!

Here's a couple of things to take note of: - The levels became pretty challenging because although you show the number of passengers left, you don't show what type they are. This can lead to some pretty difficult situations, which in my opinion, feels a bit unfair. - Stacking the characters poorly can lead to impossible scenarios where the player gets stuck in the placement screen. Maybe you could force failure if this happens?

Overall, it's a fun little game with stable mechanics. Good job on this one.

(Here's what I mean by an impossible situation, where the last character I had to place was the grouchy one): example.jpg

Geralds World by Aakadak 2017-12-05T02:26:26Z

Good first attempt.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Elthus by ejmejm 2019-04-30T03:33:24Z

So much fun! My high score was 1326. Here's some things I noticed while playing: - blue monsters killed me all the time - got stuck in the ground at the beginning This was a great submission! Easily the most fun I've had on an LD game until now.

PizzoTyping by Carpin 2019-04-30T02:30:07Z

Pretty fun. It's a little too easy though. I noticed that day eleven keeps repeating... is that supposed to happen? Anyways, it's a solid entry, and the music is a nice touch.

Soul Exchange by Dennis Jeong 2019-04-30T03:00:49Z

Nice sprites, but it appears that a lot were stretched / misaligned. Gameplay has been the most fun I've had in an LD game so far though, so nice job. Unfortunately I crashed sometime after the third level.

Blood Quest by shaner421 2019-04-30T03:49:45Z

Really fun! I'm getting lots of Hyper Light Drifter vibes from this. Movement feels solid, but I couldn't really see the point for dashing, other than getting around the map faster. Overall good job!

Peepo's Parlour by Team Kelly 2019-04-30T03:40:59Z

The creepy mood from this game is so great! The way the main character's fingers get cut off and the static in the background really add to the experience. The only few problems I had with this game were the income not being displayed and the ice cream names not being displayed.

Nine Lives by J Briggs 2019-04-30T03:56:30Z

Might be just me, but I'm confused as to why I lose lives at the end of each round. There doesn't really seem to be any explanation for this. Other than that, it's a cool game with solid mechanics.

Pixelate! by iceflakeftw 2019-04-30T03:45:22Z

The controls are hard to work with. It feels like I'm sliding on ice whenever I land on a platform. Other than that, the game makes sense.

So-called life by Kamila 2019-04-30T02:51:12Z

lol... took me a while to get it. Not really a game, but funny concept nonetheless.

Rejse by Garett 2019-04-30T02:43:18Z

The graphics and music are really good! Everything in your game looks like it belongs there. The gameplay feels a little rough, as it's hard to hit enemies without getting hit yourself, but I got used to this pretty fast. The biggest problem I have with this game is how the coins needed to pass the level without losing crew members isn't shown. Being able to see that would be nice.
