Petty Puny Planet 38 by JorgeGameDev 2017-04-26T02:00:09Z
Girlfriend and I played this one last night, just from browsing on itch.io, thought it was pretty fun! Visuals were really smooth, love them. Good luck!

I felt that the controls were pretty solid, and really liked the fluidity of the jetpack flying, though I didn't find myself using it very much since most of the enemies were on the ground. It was a really neat mechanic to make it so that the bullets could come back around to hit you! I had a couple runs going that I was doing pretty well, only to die by my own shot, which caused some laughs. It felt like some of the times that I shot, a bullet didn't come out? Perhaps intentional, to avoid having tons of bullets on the screen, but it was a little confusing.
I really liked it. Nicely done!
What a fever dream.
After reading the tutorial and playing it a couple of times, I feel as though figuring out what to actually do leans more in this game's favor rather than having a traditional tutorial, IMO. Although with how much stuff is actually going on, maybe I'm wrong about that.
Love it. Keep it up.
@aymco Yeah... I have to admit, the game balance is certainly not there in terms of how surviving days goes. For whatever reason, that was the part that I left completely unfinished until the last hour before submission time... oops. I'm almost positive that it outscales what is possible to earn. Which is fortunate because I don't have additional rules after day 3 anyways
Surviving longer than day 3 is honestly maybe impossible, but even getting to day 3 impresses me. Well done! And thanks for playing :)
Thoroughly enjoyed this one! The music was great, I kept a tab open for a while after playing for a bit.
I don't think I used move once. But I also died the first couple of runs pretty easily.
Love it.
This is my favorite submission that I've played so far.
What a cool concept, and there's a lot of polish. The level design is great. I was quite motivated to restart to get the letters on each level.
Very nicely done!
This game needs more attention. It's a huge bummer that you weren't able to get a web build, I know it'd get more eyes that it deserves that way. I'm always so hesitant to try to make rhythm games, but you nailed it here in the jam.
Music is great, art is great, it worked flawlessly for me on Windows.
Keep it up!
I had a lot of fun with this! Pretty impressive for the jam. I really liked how fluid the controls were. I wish there was a way to pan with the mouse!
Success! Package delivered. Really satisfying :) I could definitely see myself playing a game like this at a larger scale.
And how novel of an idea to use the textarea as a means for input. Pretty neat. Hope you're doing well!
Loved it! You have quite the team working on it. The art is superb.
It was fun getting into a groove with the acceleration to try to be as fast as possible! I didn't read the description until afterwards, and think the experience was heightened from it. Caught me way off guard and laughed out loud.
Nicely done :)
Hahahahaha oh my god, our games both even have character customization! Out of all the games I've played, yours and mine are the only ones I've seen that support it, and... we both also have similar ideas on the core game loop. Even with the notebook that can be hidden and shown again. Wow.
That being said, your game is basically what I was hoping my game would end up as, and has features that I would have liked to have had (a scale to actually measure the packages, etc).
Bravo to you and the team for accomplishing this for the game jam! I had a lot of fun playing around in it.
Impressive especially for the compo format! I just finished playing a really fast paced hectic game, so coming here and getting to chill was nice. A solid submission with some nice bones to work with to grow into something more, if you desired!
Tony Hawk meets Carmageddon meets Cyberpunk meets Crazy Taxi. What a wild ride that was. Impressive amount of content. The voice companion was 10/10.
Might just be a Mac thing, but playing it here on this site as well as itch.io generates some gnarly artifacts that makes it pretty much unplayable for me unfortunately.

Such an odd game, with so many unique features... I love it. Definitely had issues with the WebGL version so I downloaded the standalone and that indeed fix the performance.
The art style is adorable, I love it. The flying felt great, though there was one moment where I really flew off kilter and it was wonky... but in kind of a good way?! Maybe there's something to that very-rare-janky behavior being intentionally implemented.
Very well made for a quick jam!
Really fast paced! Must faster than most other games on here. Nice work accomplishing that in a game jam :)
Way more satisfying than I expected. Perfect popping sounds. The screenshots don't do it justice!
I won with a score of 5171 :D
This game made me laugh out loud every time I ran into something. The sound effects were perfect.
I liked how the controls feel, I agree that they felt a bit off, but I think that adds to the fun of the game. If it controlled perfectly, I think it'd lose a lot of its charm.
I didn't know until I read the controls that I needed to press space to "deliver" the hostages, so I spent a long time just running around with as many hostages as I could hold possible. SO MANY POLICE CARS!
Ended up with a pretty low score of 468, but had I known how to score earlier, I think I would have amassed much more.
Fun game! Great job making it.
I love the idea, it's pretty comfy!
The controls are a bit too sensitive though, hard to make precise movements. Having an undo button is a very cool idea, I can see it being pretty useful in this game. However, I held Z down too long and it completely remade some of the previous words and random letters, including the "repla" section, borking the game haha.
Overall a lot of fun and an incredibly clever idea. I love wordplay like this.
Dang, this was pretty challenging! I only got up to 4 boxes. It took me far longer than I wish to tell that the platforms holding the boxes up did not have box collision, I was like "how else am I supposed to capture more?!"
So simple, yet engaging. And the music is a banger.
I really love the art style for this, good work on keeping it consistent!
It was fun delivering the boxes to different people. And I liked some of the intentional map design choices with some of the roads, with some NPCs being just barely out of sight... but then being lead to directly.
Really cool stuff here.
Really neat aesthetic to the packages! Quite polished. I actually also got stuck at the 3rd checkpoint.
I agree with everyone else above, in that providing a web build will significantly grow your audience.
