Great concept. Simplistic controls but a challenging game. Took me far too long to figure out the word was always victory and I was racking my brain for an anagram for "cover it", totally forgetting about the "Y" I have as my cursor. Well done on a fun game!

wokeraccoon 2023-05-02 05:54

Fun game! I love the idea, although solving the puzzles does take a while and can led to people getting bored.

bluepir 2023-05-02 05:59

A very fun idea!! The concept is so simple but satisfying, and well executed! My only big complaint is that I had no clue what I was trying to do at the start. The first word was 'Victory', but I had assumed from then on that I was simply trying to make words, rather than make victory specifically... I went and asked ChatGPT about words that had the letters 'covertiy' in them because I was so stumped..

daveybb 2023-05-02 06:21

I love the idea, it's pretty comfy!

The controls are a bit too sensitive though, hard to make precise movements. Having an undo button is a very cool idea, I can see it being pretty useful in this game. However, I held Z down too long and it completely remade some of the previous words and random letters, including the "repla" section, borking the game haha.

Overall a lot of fun and an incredibly clever idea. I love wordplay like this.

Thank you @jimmybobb for playing my game! It's fun to hear about the forgetting the "Y" part lol! And yeah I am starting to think of levels to win with a different word than victory

stagyl 2023-05-05 07:22

Thank you @wokeraccoon! Yeah too much puzzle solving can make people bored, I hope to bring in more words and balance the puzzle part and the word part better if I keep working on this game ;)

stagyl 2023-05-05 07:33

Thank you @bluepir! LOL we did the same thing of asking ChatGPT to form words!! I agree that as a word game, which word to make to pass the level is unclear. I will think of a way to hint players better and thank you for pointing that out!

stagyl 2023-05-05 07:47

Thank you @daveybb for finding the Z button bug!! I will fix it along with the controls! I'm very glad you like the idea!

A fun little Sokoban game. I also didn't realize I had to make "victory" every time and was stuck on the second level for a while, but looked at the comments here and figured it out. Nice work :)

stellarr2 2023-05-06 08:11

That was actually really fun, was one of those games that made me really think on how to solve the puzzle. I don't play many puzzle games but this one was really fun and creative :) The graphics were simple but they fit the game and gave it a nice feeling, especially with the music setting a nice happy mood and helping me not get frustrated when I made a mistake trying to solve the level. The last one in particular was tough, but I managed to finish it. The game fits the theme really well too, delivering a letter to the word it belongs to, it took me a few minutes to understand that you had to make the word victory though, so I had to do what that one guy did and ask chatgpt to form a word using the letters on the second level lol. My main criticism is it takes a while for you to move around, maybe decreasing the time it takes to move around would be nice so the levels wouldn't take as long.

Overall really nice game, fun, creative, good art and music, and very cool concept. Just wish it would go a little faster, but that's about it. Nice work :)

Cool little puzzle game. Also didn't realize until a few levels in that all I had to spell each time was Victory. I never realized there was an undo button, but the levels are usually not that long to make restarts annoying. More levels with different words to spell would definitely be cool, like Baba Is You or something. Nice work!

I, too, got stuck on the second level trying to find other words, but once I unstuck myself from that with some help from my friendly neighborhood search engine, I was well on my way and understood it was more a Sokoban style game and I had it down after that. I really like the mechanic of making sure the "boxes" are all in the correct order and I haven't seen much of that before, but I also felt like there was maybe a bit too much in the way of letter pushing and a not quite enough in the way of levels, though I can definitely forgive that given the game jam format. Delightfully clever take on the theme, too!

rabbitaddix 2023-05-06 08:20

This was a simple, but effective puzzle game!

The gimmick of moving letters and "delivering" your Y to the end of each word is a pretty unique one! And the music was pretty good too!

Main thing I wanna say is that I don't feel like it was made clear that "victory" was the word you always spelled. It actually took me until reading these comments to figure that out. Maybe being more specific than just "make words" in the itch description would've alleviated this issue.

Besides that, this was a fun puzzle game! Couldn't get through it all the way because I wanted to play other games, but enjoyed what I did play!

stagyl 2023-05-07 00:19

@stellarr2 Wow you finished the last level?! I am glad! Thank you for liking my game and thanks for your warm comments! I will adjust the movement speed :)

stagyl 2023-05-07 00:25

@cdunham Wooo you finished the game! Thank you! I am glad you mentioned Baba Is You, it's my favorite puzzle game and that's the direction I am going for. There were more words I've brainstormed but didn't get to add to the game (because I am a slow programmer haha). Putting them on my to-do list

stagyl 2023-05-07 00:34

@ponygirlluna Gotcha! "Less letter pushing and more levels with more letters" - added to my notes hahaha. Thanks for playing my game

stagyl 2023-05-07 00:38

Thank you @rabbitaddix! Good idea, description updated! :grinning:

grommit 2023-05-08 05:27

What pleasant little game. It gets very tricky indeed!

I'm not much the sort for puzzle games but I played this one all the way through and had fun doing so.

Great work!

Wow, what a cool and unusual puzzle concept! I really enjoyed how we had to move the letter "Y" from the word "Delivery" to create the word "Play". The same thing we had to do for the word "Replay". Very original, and the music sets the mood! :D

However, the words used in the puzzle may be too difficult to understand, especially if you don't speak English. It was also hard for me to guess which words were hidden there. Although the word "Victory" could have been easily guessed, I still couldn't figure it out and had to ask for help from ChatGPT. The next puzzle was even more difficult, and I didn't have the strength to understand it, and ChatGPT offered too many options for what words could be hidden there. 😅

quinn-patrick 2023-05-10 00:21

Terrific puzzle game with cute graphics and brutally difficult but intuitive and satisfying solutions. Well done. I just wish it was a bit longer, and some fanfare when completing the levels would be nice.

stagyl 2023-05-11 06:21

@grommit Thank you! I am very glad you like it and played it through! :star2: :beers: Cheers for completing the game!

stagyl 2023-05-11 06:23

@denka Sorry that the instructions aren't clear... The word you are looking for in this game is always Victory!

stagyl 2023-05-11 06:25

@quinn-patrick Thank you for liking it! More levels, mechanics, and fanfare effects are on the way!

mnemosynevl 2023-05-12 07:13

What a game! Great approach to the theme. I didn't understand that I need to create the word victory until I looked into comments. But I guess this is already known to you. Apart from that it was a solid experience. Thank you for your game!

shp 2023-05-13 07:26

cool game, very functional concept and an interesting take on sokoban style games. I only wished the movement could be a bit faster as going back and forth around a wall takes a bit of time. well done!

justinsix 2023-05-13 12:41

I had fun with it but didn't manage to beat it as I am terrible at these kinds of games. Good job though!

mavvy 2023-05-14 01:17

Aww, what a nice game! There's a nice progression of puzzles here, the last level was my favorite. Very clever mechanic of spelling words to either pass or restart the level. The undo stack is welcome and very appreciated, the music is great and to top it all off, has one of my favorite ending screens!

stagyl 2023-05-16 05:59

@shp Thank you for playing, I will make the movement faster!

stagyl 2023-05-16 06:01

@mavvy Wow thank you for playing! I am so glad you like it! :heartbeat: :beers:
