LD53 — Delivery

Winged Delivery by Ninnec 2023-05-03T06:00:09Z

The art for the game was great and the concept was also pretty unique!

I actually loved the inclusion of the columns because at the time they were introduced, I was starting to tire a little bit from the easy gameplay lol

I guess the main thing that I wanna critique is that from my experience, there's no audio indicator of when you get a package wrong. It's always got a "ping!" sound which while I do appreciate and it makes me feel like I'm doing everything right, it's not made entirely clear to the player when they misdeliver something.

Other than that, unique gameplay idea, nice difficulty ramp, cool art, solid entry!

(By the way I got to 45 parcels)

Overtime at the Tetromino Factory by Tim Sims 2023-05-02T05:58:10Z

This game's art style was very vibrant and colourful and I loved it!

However, there are some aspects of the game that I took issue with.

The lack of a tutorial or how to play menu stood out to me. I didn't know what I was meant to do, whether or not I was meant to complete the Tetris like a normal game, or what the conveyor belts did. Though this is a pitfall I also fell into in a previous game jam.

The music did get a bit repetitive, but hey, 72 hours isn't a whole lot of time to work with, so I totally get it.

Overall I liked the concept of recontextualizing Tetris as being part of an actual factory and the art was great, but I couldn't figure out what to do, which knocks this game down a few pegs for me. Solid effort though!

Hear Ye! by krummja 2023-05-02T06:28:02Z

The art for this one was solid! And I loved the little honks and enemy grunts.

Though the honk itself felt a little bit short-ranged. Maybe that's just me but it felt like I was always up close and personal with an enemy before I could actually DOOT them out of existence.

The music was pretty unique as well, and also solid! Keyboard controls were a bit weird but I got used to them.

Pretty good entry!

Last Stand Delivery by Sheng Mai 2023-05-06T08:40:33Z

The art, music and gameplay were all very impressive! I liked the way you "delivered" gear to those on the field. That's fun.

Only thing I didn't like was how the music restarts during a cutscene, when you restart a level, on the level select, etc. It's a bit jarring. Consistently playing music would've definitely been better.

Other than that, this was a solid entry!

DeliverY by StaGYL 2023-05-06T08:20:28Z

This was a simple, but effective puzzle game!

The gimmick of moving letters and "delivering" your Y to the end of each word is a pretty unique one! And the music was pretty good too!

Main thing I wanna say is that I don't feel like it was made clear that "victory" was the word you always spelled. It actually took me until reading these comments to figure that out. Maybe being more specific than just "make words" in the itch description would've alleviated this issue.

Besides that, this was a fun puzzle game! Couldn't get through it all the way because I wanted to play other games, but enjoyed what I did play!

That's Not My Pizza by Moehito_games 2023-05-02T06:13:39Z

For the art and music, you guys knocked it out of the park! Such good stuff. The loss of sound effects is a bummer, but hey, deadlines are deadlines.

The concept of catching pizzas with a pizza box was pretty interesting to me! Only thing to say on that is that it's a bit weird how low the pizza box is, because from my experience, you move your mouse down to sling the pizzas. This way doesn't offer a whole lot of freedom.

Something major I didn't really like was the different house, different requirements gimmick. It definitely adds a little extra involvement in the game, but I didn't feel like I knew what symbol meant what most of the time. A guide or tutorial probably would've helped this.

Cool concept, great use of the theme, outstanding graphics and music, pretty good entry overall!
