LD42 — Running out of space

Disaster at Starbase 7 by rjhelms 2018-08-13T00:13:41Z

I know you put instructions in the game for what to do, but I was still a bit confused honestly, haha. I still enjoyed it though!

CRAMMM: Totally Accurate Studying Simulator by tuism 2018-08-12T23:49:26Z

The itch.io page gives a 404 at least the current link

Kirsty's Cakes by SelfTitled 2018-08-13T08:54:38Z

Wasn't too bad :) Could definitely use more structure in it's goals. Maybe break it up into levels. (assuming you want to continue developing the game in future)

Major Tom, Can you hear me? by samoatesgames 2018-08-13T08:52:35Z

Reminded me of keep talking and nobody explodes! Fun game :)

Growing Out by superpokeunicorn 2018-08-12T23:46:51Z

I don't understand how to open the .jar file that is downloaded from the windows itch.io page

Passengers Tetris by Gao Ming 2018-08-13T07:22:02Z

I'm terrible at it... but I LOVE the art style, brings me back to my playmobile days haha

EVOLUTION by Noa Calice 2018-08-13T16:40:00Z

everything about this game is awesome :D I am so jealous of the graphics

42_GetOut by elZach 2018-08-13T00:07:24Z

Probably just me, but after getting past the first door, I couldn't make it very far. I'm probably just bad though, haha. My favorite part of the game was just the visuals, felt like I was tripping on something :D If you expand on the game, but it'd be awesome if you streamlined the difficulty a bit more, but again could just be me being bad.

Cactus Madness! by CursedEmbassy 2018-08-12T23:18:11Z

I hope you expand on this and make the game you describe as your original vision in the description! It sounds awesome and I'd love to play it. As for what's their right now, the art's awesome, otherwise wasn't a big fan.

Escape 2600 by cenullum 2018-08-13T10:24:36Z

download link appeared for me magically... not sure why it wasnt loading on the page, game's pretty fun! the art style has a weird kind of appeal to me haha

Lazy Cannon by rcioletti 2018-08-13T09:55:30Z

the game crashes for me on start : /

CAVEMAN by MaiMai 2018-08-13T16:50:54Z

Coolest art style I've seen this jam, would be interested in how you managed to do it. Gameplay wise it was fun enough, though it was a bit awkward to have to move in the direction I wanted to throw the spear

Croatan by Colestia 2018-08-13T08:49:26Z

This was a really cool little story centric sci-fi game. The presentation, music, theme, etc were all on point! I loved the intro and the way you popped in text. I'd love to see this expanded on into a bigger game! The lore of the world intrigued me and I'm curious if the boxes and tree like thing are entities or placeholder art for people.... I want to know more haha

Blast by JPatrick 2018-08-13T09:01:02Z

Not too shabby. Could maybe use more enemy variation and a little polish here or there, but good for a game jam!

Dusk Spirits by Tinamil 2018-08-12T23:28:34Z

I enjoyed it, but I feel like their could be some polish put on the combat to get it just right. If you haven't already I'd recommend Game Makers Toolkit, it's a video series and in it they talk about "juice" which is the stuff that makes gameplay "feel good".

Running In To Space by icefox 2018-08-13T10:28:07Z

how is it winnable without win conditon detection haha, I couldn't win, otherwise fun

Tunnel Ride by Xyntell 2018-08-12T21:13:58Z

I like the game, but it is really easy to cheese. All you have to do to go infinitely is cling to the right side and shoot directly up, only reason I died is I got bored. I found this cheese on my first playthrough as well and got: http://prntscr.com/khsgvw

(Running) Flying out of space by Kaboosh 2018-08-13T08:44:29Z

I didn't mind the controls, was a cool little game :)

Flood Of Pirates by Stefan Jovanovic 2018-08-13T00:01:18Z

The game is really good. Only thing is the impact of the sword is really low. Make the wind up for the animation longer, the swing longer, add a bit of screen shake maybe... more impactful sound. Everything's great, but the feel of the sword is way off. Otherwise keep up the great work :D

Colony by thechubbypanda 2018-08-12T21:10:04Z

the itch.io page is a dead end for me

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-12T23:26:04Z

@tophats64-games Thanks so much for checking it out! I definitely think I'll be working more on it in the coming weeks, I have so much more I want to do with the game. Let me know if you have any specific things you'd like to see added/changed to make it better!

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-12T23:40:43Z

Yeah you have to shoot it to activate it. @alexey-akulovich theres also a weird bug where only half the time the power up works and activates and spawns the portal to the next room @rk3omega It's already on my list to change the way the moving to the next level works, so in future versions the tutorial text will be on screen longer

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-12T23:42:57Z

Thank you so much for the feedback and playing it guys :D

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-13T08:50:06Z

thanks for playing, how specifically would you suggest I make the controls faster? Do you mean the movement or the shooting? @alexander-tan

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-13T10:48:21Z

@seannewman22 Thanks :) I definitely want to flesh it out and make it a more complete and unique game... will still be free though :)

Progression || Degeneration by JustinSix 2018-08-13T16:20:43Z

Thanks so much for the feedback guys :) I really feel like I have a direction to take the game in future updates and am excited to keep developing it

The Post Office by TOPHATs64_GAMEs 2018-08-12T23:24:40Z

I enjoyed it, I like the concept, it's kind of like a twist on tetris, could be built out into a interesting puzzle game. :D

A Way Out by sdrrv 2018-08-12T23:15:31Z

Pretty good. If you wanted to expand on the game beyond the game jam maybe add different kinds of bullets to shoot, different levels, different obstacles. Otherwise what's already there is great in my opinion!

Overpopulation by SimonAura 2018-08-13T00:09:03Z

Crazyy to me that you made this with monogame and C# in 48 hours. I wish I could code that fast, haha.

Overpopulation by SimonAura 2018-08-13T00:14:47Z

@simonaura It's my first ludum dare too :D You did great though man, I used visual coding, no way I could have done half as well as you did with coding

DarkSide by guxiang 2018-08-13T07:20:59Z

I enjoyed it, but wish there was music. My suggestion is to use a random music generator with settings for choosing the direction of the random music generated. (in future)

My first Ludum dare - Astro Swing by michelle 2018-08-13T16:45:42Z

hey man, the itch.io page isn't showing the game for me http://prntscr.com/ki4rzl

Rocket Girls by tcmxx 2018-08-13T16:36:52Z

I don't really understand what the image did that was spawned after typing the letters. Otherwise was fun, definitely unique :D

WizarDwarf by Sinnis 2018-08-13T16:33:48Z

Pretty cool little game. Randomly generated stuff always fascinates me.

Tiles out of Space (and Time?) by Oldern 2018-08-12T23:52:21Z

Honestly really enjoyed the game! The gameplay provided real tension, was fun, and also required thinking. I got stuck on like the 4th level, but you should definitely expand on what you have, only thing I wasn't a fan of was the graphics, otherwise two thumbs up

Tiles out of Space (and Time?) by Oldern 2018-08-13T07:18:48Z

@oldern Understandable I know that #programmerArtLife haha

BugStorm by leon75 2018-08-13T16:38:20Z

As others have pointed out, some polish would go a long way, but for what's there and the time constraints... pretty awesome :) I hope you continue to develop the game

Crate Chaos by TaliOS 2018-08-12T23:56:52Z

The pixel art is awesome, gameplay was alright, not a big fan of platformers myself, but could see the appeal :)

JumpArround by Leave 2018-08-12T23:11:21Z

Did you want to make a 3d version of Getting Over It? Because you did, haha. Infurating, but addicting. Amazing job, no idea how you did it in 48 hours.

A Race To Save Space by Alexander Tan 2018-08-13T07:24:16Z

It's a cool little mobile game, though I got weird graphical bugs on my phone that made it hard for me to play.

Æmoeba Æscape by ixchow 2018-08-13T08:59:33Z

Beat it, haha. Hangin' at the beach now http://prntscr.com/khyaiu Could maybe use some subtle music, otherwise generally awesome, polished, and doesn't seem like a game made in a game jam, just a normal puzzle game, which is crazy :D

LD53 — Delivery

Rude Bear Rebirth by alexrose 2023-05-15T04:17:52Z

Fun ez game. Beat it first try. 😉

Phantom Package by 0x01F0 2023-05-13T12:38:49Z

Fun horror game, everything came together well, so good job to the whole team!

Fangs and Fury by Rodrigo Denúbila 2023-05-13T10:59:47Z

I delivered a lot of blood and kept leveling up but I can't really tell what good leveling up does me besides restoring my health. Also doesn't seem like there's a way to win the game? And the game's pretty easy so I eventually just kind of stopped playing.

Mailman Murphy by silkworm_sweatshop 2023-05-13T10:42:47Z

Fun game but the level with the lettered mailboxes really messed me up

Speed Ratter by Trooper720 2023-05-13T10:20:08Z

Fun little game I enjoyed speeding around! I liked the animals + delivery take on the theme

Generated Adventure by gamescodedogs 2023-05-15T12:20:03Z

I made it to the castle and sorcerer and was unable to continue as the only exit was grayed out. The art being consistent everywhere is crazy if it's all made by ai. I'd definitely be curious to see your process for making the game. Good stuff overall, I'm sure you learned a lot of interesting things using AI.

Libre by acronaut 2023-05-13T10:21:40Z

Looking forward to seeing what you do! I also opted to take my time with the Extra format as my scope was too large for the jam time constraint.

Nova WHALEshta by bbaf 2023-05-13T11:04:15Z

I appreciated the R to restart as I failed quite a few times! Fun game and would whale again!

Build-A-Delivery by shp 2023-05-13T10:32:33Z

Honestly really fun little game! Would love to see the concept fleshed out and expanded on as building the car was great!

Eternal delivery by DarthWaxus 2023-05-13T10:45:02Z

I don't know why but the aesthetic reminds of the 3 robots from netflix's love death robots. The sound effects of the shot thing charging and shooting the packages up is very satisfying!

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-13T19:02:35Z

@0x-void-x0 hey I appreciate you gave it a shot and I totally understand not being able to find someone to play with. If you want you can join my discord there's some people in it who'd be down to play. Worst case the artist or I could play with you. https://discord.gg/aBMhAxyPEh

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-15T04:14:50Z

@alexrose thank you sir, I didn't realize my twitter was broken. I fixed it now 😁

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-15T04:16:01Z

@alibomablitv @chuckiee Thank you for trying the game! Glad you had fun

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-15T10:29:57Z

@gamescodedogs I'm happy you enjoyed it! I would be curious to know your thoughts on how to expand it into a bigger game. Outside of extra polish and bug fixes I completed the original vision I had for the game.

**SOME SPOILERS BELOW IF ANYONE'S READING WHO HASN'T PLAYED THE GAME**

I do have plans to make a bigger co-op horror game adapting other material from H.P. Lovecraft though. My artist and I are planning to launch it to steam this October. In case you didn't realize, cozy courier co. used the Mi-Go from HP Lovecraft which is an alien race that mines for resources (hence the tunnels) and were experts in surgical techniques and neuroscience (the explanation for what happens to the players).

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-15T18:49:24Z

@michelle-go thank you for playing!

Deliver to Whence you Came by JUSTCAMH 2023-05-18T05:54:24Z

I am terrible at puzzle/platformers but I found this quite easy. I was able to beat it by spamming the bait and exploiting the physics getting propelled by the slugs. Good atmosphere and interesting mechanic, but I didn't have to engage my brain or do any puzzling. Which I'm fine with as it's not my kind of thing, but if it's to be expanded in future I think it would need to be tweaked quite a bit to make sure players have to engage with the puzzles. Rocket Lawnchair 2: Baby Deliverydoo! by jitspoe 2023-05-18T17:35:30Z

so difficult! incredible intro! very funny game overall

Chain Mail by AdamCYounis 2023-05-13T11:31:29Z

Just played and it's fantastic! The game combines puzzle and adventure elements in a unique way that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The art style and sound effects are excellent, creating an immersive experience. As a fellow Ludum Dare participant, I highly recommend giving this game a play and seeing what creative challenges you can conquer. Don't forget to also check out my entry and let me know what you think!

Ice Break Delivery by SneakyFox 2023-05-13T11:24:05Z

OMG,it's so cute! You play as this little penguin delivering fish to other penguins on different colored dots around the ice. But watch out, because these other penguins will try to steal your fish! You can push them away or dash to escape, but if you fall in the water, it's game over.

Overall, I had a blast playing it. The low-poly graphics are adorable and the music is so calming. There are even upgrades you can get to make your deliveries easier. The only downside was that it was a bit hard to figure out at first, especially with some of the mechanics like grabbing the fish back from other penguins and using the "eat" button to drop your fish and pick up another. But once I got the hang of it, it was super fun and addicting. Definitely recommend giving it a try!

SNE by Trexxak 2023-05-16T07:24:57Z

Good game, nice atmosphere. I did need to pull up a compass next to the game in order to play though haha

Deliver us from Evil by Matt Barnfield 2023-05-13T11:40:29Z

Only card game I've played so far in this jam and I love card games! Great game and impressive that you finished so much in the short time.

Hermes by UZUZ 2023-05-15T18:48:58Z

Fun game, I love Greek mythology and am in Athens right now so I may be biased. I could definitely see potential to expand the game into a mobile game in the style of something like downwell + doodle jump + greek mythos

Popcorn Odyssey by 0X_VOID_X0 2023-05-13T11:19:08Z

Popcorn Odyssey is an incredibly fun and engaging game! The game mechanics are unique and keep the game fresh throughout, while the art, music, and sound effects combine to create a chaotic yet charming atmosphere. The level design is expertly crafted, and the introduction of new features is well-paced and easy to follow. The only minor issue is that having to restart a whole level after making a lot of progress can be frustrating. However, this is more a personal preference than a problem with the game. Overall, Popcorn Odyssey is a wildly fun and challenging game, with cute graphics and expert level design. The last level is tough but worth the effort, and the end scene is definitely worth the wait! The game controls very well, although the bumpers can feel unsafe at times. A consistent set trajectory for the popcorn when it lands on them would have been helpful. That said, the game is amazing, and I couldn't put it down until I finished it!

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-13T11:36:12Z

As a fellow Ludum Dare entrant, I just played Crystallium and was blown away by its clever puzzle mechanics and charming pixel art style. The game challenges you to use your wits and strategy to navigate through a series of increasingly complex levels, each with its own unique twists and turns. The controls are tight, the sound effects are spot on, and the overall presentation is top-notch. I highly recommend giving this game a try and supporting the talented developer behind it. And while you're at it, why not check out my own Ludum Dare entry as well?

Constellation Courier by Diego Teran 2023-05-17T07:55:41Z

Cute game love the art, music, and writing!

The Silver Fleet by KyleTheCoder 2023-05-13T09:54:53Z

I think it would be a great mobile game time killer. Insane the amount of content you fit in for the jam! I got married so 100/10

Costruttore by CeterasDragos 2023-05-13T12:40:53Z

Really fun game, I love the flow of the game and would love to see the game expanded further!

Coral Reef Bay by AdamPhoebe 2023-05-13T10:23:16Z

Looking forward to seeing the game! My team also took our time with the Extra format as the scope was too large for the jam time constraint. We just finished and uploaded today

Expedited by electabledork 2023-05-15T10:40:43Z

Fun simple game, I did die a lot smashing into things though

Hell'o-Cargo by agudar 2023-05-13T11:13:51Z

Hell'o Cargo is a great little game with polished animations that effectively tell a story. The level design is interesting, with puzzles that require thoughtful solutions. However, the precise throwing mechanic takes some getting used to, and it would be better if the pickup/throw keybinding were a button/toggle instead of a "hold button." Overall, the game is very enjoyable with fantastic gameplay, great visual effects, and readable level design. The attention to detail, such as the rattling of the chain and the jump when you die, is impressive. The pixel art and sound choices are on point, and the Celeste inspiration is noticeable. The puzzles are challenging, but not too hard, and the ending is hilarious. Overall, a delightful mix of creepy and cute, with a well-executed aesthetic.

Fast Fish Slow Reach by meguminzero 2023-05-13T10:17:35Z

I was able to play after pressing enter to start the game. I wasn't able to get past level 1-1 though I could jump around as the cat and go up one level or down but couldn't figure out how to continue

Ultimate Package by Triangle Point 2023-05-13T10:34:31Z

I love that the packages are the enemy, this was a unique spin on the theme! Great job!

Space Cannon Delivery Service by Chuckiee 2023-05-13T09:35:02Z

Simple and elegant design. Kind of reminds me in a good way of angry birds. Ties well into the theme 5/5 for me

C.R.A.B. signal by unkilledshadow135_Alex 2023-05-13T10:38:50Z

I love the theming, art, and "story" of the game with crabs vs seagulls. Gameplay was a bit confusing but watching someone else in the comments play it helped me understand.

VR Cross the border by David_Kim 2023-05-13T09:43:42Z

I love VR and my quest 2, so I love that you made a vr game for this jam! bonus points just for the ambition :) I'm curious what engine you made the game with I enjoyed it!

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-13T10:33:51Z

This game is so polished and well made. It is extremely hard though for me, but I might just be really bad at it

DeliveryQuest by RaggedyJam 2023-05-13T10:49:08Z

Good job! You basically made 3 seperate games within the short time of the jam. The bird game I had the most difficulty with, but I really liked the trade off between keeping the package and fighting the birds. Had the most potential to be expanded into a full game, I could see it being a really fun mobile game for example.

Bloodiest Mary by nullmike 2023-05-13T11:41:56Z

I love vampires and enjoyed this spin on the theme. Good job!

RELEASE THE MEAT by NuiN 2023-05-13T11:26:48Z

Building a machine to transport your meat trolley to the end of each level is super fun, and when you finally get it right, it's super satisfying. I did get stuck on level 3, though, and found it frustrating having to rebuild my machine from scratch every time. But hey, that's part of the challenge, right? The physics can be a bit buggy, but it doesn't affect things too much. Overall, I had a great time with this game and think it has potential to be expanded even further.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-13T14:44:38Z

Fun little puzzle game!

DeliverY by StaGYL 2023-05-13T12:41:56Z

I had fun with it but didn't manage to beat it as I am terrible at these kinds of games. Good job though!

You Are The End by TooLoo 2023-05-17T07:54:17Z

Love the mood and the general vibe set up by the art and story! Love me some zombies.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Traction Bugs by TimBeaudet 2024-10-08T12:54:24Z

Fun and polished little game. Lots of different tracks.
