Impressive entry. Making a card-based TRPG in a jam is ambitious. I liked how the game looked. The attacks translated well and there were a good variety of spells and attacks for a jam game.

Yeah we knew the format was a bit of a stretch and we definitely had to cut some ideas for time, but overall it was really fun to make this!
I really love how you interpreted the concept! I do believe it is really innovative and fun, the dynamics could work very very well with a bit more time and a second opinion on UX, love it though <3 well done!
Interesting combination of mechanics. Cards + turn based battle looks good.
This is a clever twist on the theme, and a fun battler. Nice card variety (sometimes a difficult thing to do under jam constraints!) One criticism I would offer is the music doesn't fit amazingly with the settings and visuals - it's a bit chilled out for battling demons in hell! Really good job though, echoing what the other commenter said about ambition - good on you for tackling a whole card-based RPG under so much time pressure, and delivering really well!
Thanks @marzenie! I'd love to hear any ideas you have for improving the UX. I agree it could definitely be polished more and it would be good to know what to bear in mind, if only for future jam entries :)

I like the card twist on DnD style turn-based combat. Music fits well and atk effects were nice. I have a bias for isometric.
I think you should explain in game that all actions are card based, including move. And you should also note that atk can damage you too, I killed myself haha. On the card selection, maybe limit to 1 selection per turn regardless of kills. There's a turn when I chose like 4 cards, it's stressful to make that amounts of decisions at once.

Cool Idea and smart stuff in the gameplay. Great fun. There were some creative cards and mechanics in your game! I'd love to play a more polished and expanded version of this!! I see a lot of potential here!
Maybe it would have been better to show when i am threatened by the range / melee guys? I feel like i had a bit too little information to make an informed play. Also numbers in the health bars would be great.
I did not realize the pole arm hits myself tho, and i killed myself with it when attacking a nearby guy haha. :D

@skitefall Great points. I think given more time we'd benefit a lot from a formal tutorial level explaining all the mechanics rather than just the small bits of helper text.
@tosmaster Threat ranges are an awesome idea- I wish we'd thought of it during the jam! Definitely something to implement if we revisit this project

Really cool game! The premise is great and I enjoyed the variety of cards to play with. There's an impressive amount of content for a jam game, especially considering how all the cards have high quality art and effects. I like the idea of having powerful cards you have to sacrifice morality for, but it didn't seem to have any effect. I could empty the morality meter and keep using the demonic cards and was still completely fine. Maybe it affects the ending? I never managed to make it that far (even with multiple attempts), so I'm not sure.
One element I've a bit iffy on is how many cards you get. Most deck builders only give a card after each battle, and keeping your deck slim is a major part of the strategy. Compared to that, getting a card after every enemy can feel a bit overwhelming. It does have good aspects though - I like how the card is added to your hand so you can create combos by chaining together kills.
Its a cool card battler. Very impressive how many cards youve made in such short time and i really like the music as well.
There are some things that feels off such as the halberd/polearm dealing damage to yourself. The wings card also seems bugged as it deals damage when you move, which in turn will deal damage to yourself.

Yes, we would have liked to implement the ability for some area-effect cards to not damage the caster -- really in my opinion only the fireball should damage the caster!
The wings do actually function as intended, they are supposed to make you choose to trade-off between harming the enemy and harming yourself, but we generate the card text from the effects so the description doesn't convey this to the player very well!
Good game, but a bit unfinished. Pleasant music. Interesting set of cards. It's a little embarrassing that the cards are not played for mana, but just like that.
Extremely impressive game. The only thing I would've liked is a way to move the camera a bit. Also while some of the AOE cards makes sense to damage the player in the area, others like the polearm don't. Had a lot of fun playing this game, great work.
Pretty fun! Was fairly well-polished, although a way to cancel a selected card or to move the camera around would've been appreciated. Good music and solid mechanics. I'm not big on deck builders, but I liked this!
This is cool! Impressive that you were able to make a solid tactical game in a short time. Hovering over the cards was a bit frustrating as the jumped up and down. Otherwise, great entry!
Only card game I've played so far in this jam and I love card games! Great game and impressive that you finished so much in the short time.
It's shame I cannot control camera movement on my own. It happened few times I couldn't see enemies health because it was off screen.
Also, is there a limit to how many cards I can have in hand at a time? I got plenty from nuking enemies with one of the abilities but I never had a chance to use them as they just disappeared.

+ the cards actually worked quite nice + it would be nice to see the cards range when hovered, rather than wasting it by finding that you should have moved first, also the enemies movement and attack range if hovering them + the cards have numerical values for damage, but it is represented in a bar format on enemies, so you never quite know if your attacks are enough to take the enemy out + I feel like the cards are a little bit too low in the default state, the card top is barely visible, so you only check how many cards you have, and not what they do (using the icon)
