Liked the ambience. Without capitalism, where did that one dude buy that cigarette though?

ghen 2018-08-13 08:48

man...this impressive and disspointing at the same time, BUT not in a bad way, i love the graphics, the atmosfer, the camera work at the into, the music gave it this chilling-creepy atmosfer, feels like you in the edge of something weird and surreal, absolutely love it, dissapointing just because i can't explore more if it !

This was a really cool little story centric sci-fi game. The presentation, music, theme, etc were all on point! I loved the intro and the way you popped in text. I'd love to see this expanded on into a bigger game! The lore of the world intrigued me and I'm curious if the boxes and tree like thing are entities or placeholder art for people.... I want to know more haha

jole 2018-08-13 08:52

I liked the short story and i think you did a good job ^^.

apple-dash 2018-08-13 08:56

Well, music's nice, I suppose. I don't have much to say. I might be better, if there was more to explore. And visuals are a bit unclear, because they are stylized to the point, where it's unclear what is and isn't a person. Looks pretty, though, especially liked wireframe ships in the sky

Although, ham-fisted jab at capitalism is pretty adorable

mrjorts 2018-08-13 08:59

Very nice atmosphere, and good storytelling.

jet-jones 2018-08-13 08:59

Pretty good game liked the ambiance. Also is there anywhere where I can download the music because its really good.

Absolutely brilliant. I love the art style and cyberfunk feel you get from such a small space. The ammount of worldbuilding you pack in is tryly incredible. I would legitimatelly want to see more of this.

colestia 2018-08-13 09:09

Hey Jet, glad you liked it! The track in the game is available here: https://soundcloud.com/xenojam/s-a-t-u-r-d-a-y

The same artist has a lot of other great synthwave as well!

Great job! I like how you used the theme on a thematic level rather than just a mechanical one.

allan-kong 2018-08-13 16:45

The game has a very radiating atmosphere, it feels so calm and soothing. The music builds up stress and you got me concerned the small world, Croatan

foolmoron 2018-08-14 03:51

REALLY cool atmosphere. I usually hate the pixely 3D effect but it fit perfectly here. The intro camera zoom was amazing. The muted colors made you understand the setting instantly. The wireframes in the sky were a really good touch too, evoking constellations. The music was perfect and set the mood so well, I wish you made it yourself so I could rate it. I like the concept of the writing but I think it could have delivered the message better. I think even among the few interactions here, there are still capitalist effects in play (for example, Croatan is still beholden to the refugees and social reputation, not exactly free). Exploring those conflicts would be interesting.

andrey-ugolnik 2018-08-15 04:45

I like your game intro. I very appreciate that you fit into Jam theme.

vekstr 2018-08-15 04:47

Uhm, all I could do was talk to the people in that room, is that correct?

awix 2018-08-15 07:15

A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)

anstabo 2018-08-15 16:42

The ambiance is a success, very compelling, it's a shame there isn't more content for me to interact with. Great entry !

tortov 2018-08-15 22:18

We need more anti-capitalist games. \o/ I really liked the universe you made (and would be nice to explore it in other ways). Croatan looks like the antipode of Libra: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/libra-the-21st-century-libertarian-space-colony-19119736/

wrenpirate 2018-08-16 01:35

I wish the heads of the interactable beings were a different color from the bottle caps (and the string lights). It was hard to read the room, so to speak. I liked the immersive camera and the melancholy music you chose.

calzep 2018-08-16 02:18

Very confusing to me, not sure if there was a goal I was supposed to be achieving? Is that ironic? Maybe I'm just not getting it and its a big woosh.

eoku 2018-08-16 02:30

Beautiful, sad yet relaxing, wonderfully melancholy sci-fi. 5/5

jin9310 2018-08-17 18:49

The things have moved in unexpected way! I am so glad I was able to come across your entry. For me by far the best game so far! The atmosphere is amazing from the very beginning and the sound plays great part in it. The story that happened here and we witness can be very familiar and you did very good job! Well executed! (no pun intended) ;)

mapedorr 2018-08-20 02:21

Interesting adventure game with a good and moving story. I like the way you handled the theme of the jam to convey a message, which was very powerful indeed. I loved the mood of the game established by its music and color palette. A short and profound experience, very good job.

(ノ・∀・)ノ - BTW

We also have an HTML5 entry if you want to play it and rate it.

sam-machell 2018-08-20 21:49
