Looks well. Good art.
Somewhere when I picked up the wristwatch the game stopped working for me. I restarted it though and finished the game. The art was astounding. Even though some things did feel disproportionate, it looked great. Didn't understand the story to be honest, might be me though! Good job!
I am awake. I got it in the third time. I loved the graphics.
It seems to glitch when you interact with the flower before anything else. On the second day it soft-locked, and on the third day I got an error message:
FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Key Press Event for
Moving to next room after the last room. at gml_Object_txt_IMissYou_KeyPress_32
The game's visuals are great, though.
@TowerHufham Yeah, this was something I didn't discover until a few hours before deadline, that only for certain people, the game crashes. I've replicated a lot of these instances on different PCs. Some crash, some don't. I'm certain I could have figured out the solution, but alas. Thanks for the review!
Enjoyed playing though this one and getting both endings. Would love to see this as a full game. Wasn't quite sure what happens on what I presume is the bad ending though.
Great game. Got through it the first go! Good music and graphics, not sure what it has to do with the theme though.
Might it be possible to compile for Linux?
@the-shadermaster I have the barebones GameMaker2.0, which inherently only allows me to create Windows files. If there's another way of doing it that isn't through the software, I'd be glad to!
Really cute graphics. But i was hoping for more endings though. Looking forward to play postjam version with more puzzles and more endings =)
Good music and art, although I got the game crash bug too (after I get 2 solar candy, interacting with the chest or the picture will crash the game every time).
Pretty interesting game. Great pictures and the music is really nice (launched the game, got distracted and listened to it for about twenty minutes). At first I didn't realize that Moon candies are a bad thing. And why are they candies anyway? I think I get the metaphor for Moon and Sun but candies...
got a fatal error on day 3 while interacting with the photo
The best thing about this game is the art style. Unfortunately, just as I was beginning to understand the game, it crashed (right after the second solar candy). Here's the log:
___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Key Press Event for
Moving to next room after the last room. at gml_Object_txt_IMissYou_KeyPress_32 ############################################################################################
Nice entry! Gorgeous art and beautiful music. Wanted more endings tho! You should definitely continue the project!
This looks and sounds cute, I played twice for both endings. Light point-and-click with right mood. But I don't really get how this game implies the jam theme. Otherwise, solid work.
@klekky Yeah, this bug is something I discovered that only happens on certain PCs. It didn't happen on mine at any point, so I was unaware of its existence. Thanks for the notice, I'll fix it as soon as I get a chance!
@chong-lee Thank you so much! We will certainly be continuing on this concept, and either scrapping/remaking or just improving. Appreciated!
@TuTaraTuta I guess the ideas changed a lot in the process, but originally (and I suppose our excuse currently) is that a type of candy is bad to have more of.
I like it. It's a bit short, and it got softlocked a few times, but aside from that, it works well.
One thing though, I get why getting the lunar candies are a bad thing, but isn't the theme, the more you have the worse it is? Are solar candies somehow bad, despite bringing you back to life?
This is a great game! It's especially impressive given that it's a jam game: the only real problem with it is that it's too short, and that inevitable given the constraints of the game. I hope you are able to take more time with it and make a full-length game out of it.
An extremely minor nitpick: If you are walking when you enter conversation, your walking animation continues to play in place during the conversation, which is slightly distracting. Not really an issue, but something you might want to know about if you're going to keep working with this.
The game got stuck on the sobbing screen for me. After it faded to black I sat there waiting for about a minute but nothing progressed. The art was beautiful, the celestial goddesses definitely felt out of this world 'cute'. I didn't quite understand what the candies meant. Was it favor with that particular goddess? The dialogue was interesting and tied well to sound. Great work finishing another LD!
The art was nice but I didn't quite got how is it related to the theme. But a nice game neitherless.
Cute story and graphics!
@talon Thank you, we would certainly like to expand! I think with the way I currently coded it, it would need to be redone from scratch to make the process a little cleaner. And yeah, the idle walking animation was mostly something that I was reluctant to redo unless I had extra time towards the end.
@DraperDanMan So that was actually the end of the game. Thank you so much for the compliment on the art, Cannibal Queen is really talented and I enjoyed working with her. She carried the game for sure.
Hey guys!
You really did a wonderful job here. The story is fantastic and mood is very nice. The art is superb and the music absolutely addicting! The bad end was quite a shock for me :sweat_smil e: The Puzzles where well and satisfying. Oh and I did encounter any bugs on my way to the end.
Overall amazing job!
Your game looks really nice, the art is amazing and the sound complements it nicely. But I didn't really like the fact that I had to install the game. Also I don't see where it fits with the theme.
It was a nice little game, would love to see the story expanded. Even thought it was short it felt pretty polished and with an amazing look for such a short amount of time.
I was sad when I saw he had been at the hospital the whole time, and was curious to know what happened.
Congratualations :)
Pretty cool. Looks really good and the story is also pretty decent. Well done folks.
