Great Game I liked it !!!
Love it! Cool idea for using the theme! Awesome graphics and atmosphere! Great Job :)
Interesting take on the theme. Pretty polished.
Cool concept! Always a fan of turned based strategies, and the way you implemented the theme was very nice. Art fits perfectly aswell :D
Really cool game! I think the moving and attacking phases could be faster to make the game more juicy. But still, great art, music, and ideas! congrats!
Wow the pixel art is so polished for a game jam! I liked how there was an option to make the turns go faster.
Really nice game, and very well polished ! The concept is cool and could be pushed ! If you will keep working on it, I would suggest to work on the global flow and its rythm, which is quite slow (even with the speed up mode).
Good job ! :D
There is a bug: when the action icons are over the clock and you click on one of them, it clicks on the clock instead so I just got stuck.
I'm not a big fan of turn-based games. Graphics look nice, sound is OK. I couldn't finish second stage, because I've left one of the units under the clock - all clicks were going to it, and not to the buttons. You might want to look into it.
@savorytoast Ah missed we that one! Thanks for pointing it out, will push a post Jam build with a few bug fixes including this later today!
Nice game! If a bit slow-paced. I really liked the art.
I really enjoyed this - art is gorgeous and the use of the theme is clever, took me a while to click on the timer to skip moves
Great entry
Really enjoy this game ! Art is very good !
OMG this game is amazing!!! Art is incredible, gameplay is neat. So much fun!!! Congratulations!!
I had to make another comment: Keep the project on and make a full game.
Creative game! I think this is the first one I played where the time was used as a resource. Great work!
Combat and strategy feels nice, the artstyle is really polished, it could be a good multiplayer chees like game, great job
This is a nice use of the theme with a solid take on turn-based tactic games. Sometimes clicking on the intended action was unreliable (showing the health of a nearby rock instead of attacking), and I couldn't get the wait function to work, so spent a lot of time stepping backwards and forwards instead š The AI were pretty easy to bait into positions, but that made the hardcore mode much more viable for me. Solid quality work on the art assets and music, nothing unique, but very well executed.
How much I liked the heroes series back in the day! Liked the clock as the element of the theme very much! I missed only, really only one thing: to see how much damage can be done by whom.
This is great! The pixel art is beautiful, the background music fits really well and the whole game feels well thought out and balanced. Very enjoyable!
A nice strategy game. It's quite ambitious for a game jam and it works well but the AI was sometimes a bit random. Probably something to tinker with if you go further with the idea!
Incredible art and music! Very addictive gameplay! :) I don't like the camera movement in the moment of the strike (closer and further). And I think that the animation of the movement may be a little faster (even of max speed). Especially on the long distances
Interesting way to manage the resources of Action Points and cool art !! Only downside to the resource management I saw when playing was that the rules really push you towards playing very defensively since you want to make the opposing side lose time by moving towards you. Great job overall though :) !!
@kavehes Hit the nail on the head with the problems that the time resource introduces, it's something we noticed too, good brain!
@ everyone else - thank you for the very kind comments
I think a possible solution to the problem @kavehes mentiond would be to have two clocks, one only for movement one only for attacks. This way you have some room to move your units forward, attack and then backwards again.
Or to have one-shot units which will die after a few rounds. So when it's their final round, it doesn't really matter where they are placed.
Also the AI was very preditable, always searching for the lower most unit closest to their banner, this way it was easy to make them attack a unit with high health.
But overall, I played this quite a while and had a lot of fun with it. Is it endless? Or how many levels are there? I think I played this for more than 40min. xD
@leorid All interesting ideas! The game is endless highest floor I've managed is 13 in Hardcore mode!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing for such a long time!
Really enjoyed this game. Simple turn-based battle game using the 10-second theme. I was glad the AI played sub-optimally.
What a great game name! Love the art, great idea, feels super fun. Only criticism I have is when the game is waiting for you to make your move everything is completely still. There you could add some kind of way to show that its waiting for you to make your move. Maybe the camera is slightly like pulsating like a slowly beating heart or something. Anyways thats just nitpicking, super well done!!
This game is so well polished! Love the game and hate the AI (jokingly...)
Really fun game. It seems very polished and took next to no time to learn. Yet there is lot of tactics to learn.
I always love seeing a turn-based strategy game turn up in a jam. This one is pretty decent overall, can't really complain. The connection to the theme is a little weak, but hey.
Really well made game! I love the art, it's so incredibly charming! Excellent work on the whole visual aspect. Gameplay was okay but a bit slow, and the superior strategy was just to be defensive and wait for enemies to get close. Some gameplay tweaks and quality of life improvements could definitely make this a lot more fun. But overall everything is very smooth and polished. Impressive work for a jam entry!
Ultimate strategy - wait for them to use their seconds and kill them) Nice!
This game is amazing!! The clock on each step creates a neat mix of strategy and puzzle -really cool gameplay! Love the art and music too! Very polished and fun to play! Fantastic work on this! :D
Loved this. The art, music and gameplay are all great and the polish is incredible for how long you spent on it. This is one you should turn into a full game and release it if you aren't already planning on it. There's a lot of potential here and the gameplay being a mix of strategy and being casual enough to be approachable while still providing a challenge is amazing. It's a tough balance to strike. Oh and I love how instead of 10 seconds being a consistently ticking down timer, it's a resource. Very imaginative use of the theme.
One of my favourite games played of the jam by far, very well done! Do more on this!
Absolutely impressive games in terms of graphics and polish! I love all the little details, the animation, the smoothness and snapiness of the controls. It's quite hard to make a game like this feel intuitive, and you did it very well. The mechanic of "time resource" is extremely well implemented too.
I guess the only thing I would have liked is a bit more challenge, it's nice that the first levels are easy but then the difficulty is really slow to ramp up.
Thanks for the game and great job!
Super clever idea to use the 10 second theme without making a game where you have to rush or get stressed about it, but turning into a resource instead.
I'm very impressed! Creative use of the theme and overall your game looks and feels very polished. Would love to know if all your assets were made during the jam? Pixel art is very good and your artist is very talented. Playing field is designed well and easy to read. AI obviously isn't perfect but it worked really well - it provided enough of a challenge without feeling unfair. Also since you have audio as one of your categories, did you guys make any of the music or sfx? Soundtrack was pretty much perfect for the game! This is a great entry and one of my favorites so far.
@pixelydian Yes, all the art, SFX and music was made by us in the 72 hours  Thanks a lot for the kind words
I _really_ loved this game! Clever use of the theme to force players to make difficult choices during their turn, I'm not sure I've ever seen this mechanic used in tactics RPGs. Would love to see it expanded further in a full game! Great art and music too
Some polish feedback: - It was difficult to click buttons above units sometimes, I think they collided with rocks and debris on the map? - Some forest/battlefield ambiance could go a long way - Sound effects when clicking units - Movement sound effects beyond the clock tick
Great game! I see potential in this one. It is very easy to learn, but gets harder each level. I like that. The graphics are very nicely done and the music in the background fits your theme well.
I love how you represent the 10 seconds as in-game time, instead of real human time. I have not seen that too often in this edition of Ludum Dare.
I actually like turn-based tactic games in particular, and the idea that all actions consume the same resources is great! I really like this game and I just read that you guys will try to keep polishing this project, go for it!
Some feedback
* Because I can use all the time on the same character for the best effect (damage overflow is a good idea, but not enough). This makes multiple characters appearing at the same time not very rewarding. After all, I just have to destroy all the monsters, and the monsters will come my way on their own.
* The enemy's ai was a bit clunky, and many times he could have killed my character, but chose to move instead.
This one has a lot of potential for expansion. I like the less literal take on the theme that a lot of us had, it works really well for the game you've crafted here.
Nice entry with matching music.
Not my kind of game, still very enjoyable.
Very neatly put together. Gameplay and graphics are well balanced. Easy to understand and enjoyable.
Really really excellent game! Very very polished, nothing bad to say about anything really. The art is top notch, music and sounds are great. Programming is bug free as far as I can see, very solid. Very interesting gameplay mechanics, using the 10 second timer as a move counter. It could use some game balance changes, but all in all a super solid entry! Thank you for the great game!
Good art and music, but as others have noted above, defensive tactics make the game trivially easy. The fact that it takes half your turn to just move one unit across the map makes movement far too expensive, especially when the AI is quite happy to spend their entire turn moving one unit next to you. The game would have been far more interesting if the map had been smaller, if the enemies had access to ranged attacks (at least I didn't encounter any before I got bored), and if there had been objectives pushing the player to play more aggressively. As the game stands, I spend the vast majority of my "seconds" doing nothing, waiting for the next enemy to run over to be slaughtered.
this game is really well made! it's very polished for a jam game, and it's fun to play!
the balancing is not excellent but that's not a real problem for me. but what i was maybe missing was some shortcuts for actions, like arrows for moving et space for attacking for example (i say that but my game is only point&click and could benefit from that advice too haha).
overall, really nice entry!

Hi guys,
Really love the game! It's quite interesting from game mechanic point of view and what a lovely small animations! Amazing what a cool stuff you've made in such limited amount of time!
I'm a fan of turn based games, and this one is nice and polished, very good job for a 72h Jam!
