I found the controls pretty hard, but the art and music are so cute! Nice job overall!
I had a wow moment when I figured out you can roll the debris onto other debris and push a huge ball of stuff around! I think there could have been more of a challenge in the game, maybe a tighter time crunch? Also I like the art :)
Overall, fun but pretty easy.
cute volcano
funny
This was really enjoyable! I liked testing the volcano's limits and trying to collect a larger and larger ball of debris.
The movement felt a bit choppy and the mouse sensitivity was super high for me, but the visuals / music / gameplay were great :)
That was so fun! I loved building a huge chunk of debris as an offering to the volcano. The expressions are also such a good idea instead of a progress bar. As others mentioned, the mouse sensitivity was a bit high but I got used to it after a moment.
One of my favorite entries so far! Once I realized you could gather things Katamari Damacy style it became really satisfying building up huge balls of items to drop into the volcano. I think this concept could really be expanded upon in a full game. Really good music and nice graphics too.
EVEN THE TREE !!!???? WOWOWOWOW ! that was my respond to everything that happened in this game it was awesome, I had so much fun ! Well done !
Very cute entry, loved the art style and the music (even the pixelated hands were charming).
Unfortunately, for me the framerate really dropped on areas with a ton of grass, and just as I was deliverying what (I think) were the last collectible pieces, the game crashed with an "invalid convesion to Integer" error :(
Still, very fun entry
@jd557 Thanks for the comments! I cannot seem to see those crashes, would it be possible for you to screen shot the issue you are experiencing?
@abrds unfortunately, I can't reproduce it now... I know I was rolling some things around the right side of the volcano when that happened, but I just tried that again and the game keeps running fine.
I was playing for quite some time, so I assume it's a rare bug.
For reference, I was playing on the web version.
@jd557 Thanks for all the help! I will keep an eye on things, apologies for the crash!
The moment I realized you can just Katamari everything and throw it into the weirdly cute volcano, amazing :).
i like to make big garbage balls, but browser game crashing if them is too big
@diccuric-sigeon You are awesome, thank you for finding this issue!
@abrds let me know if you fix it and i will make a big ball
I had a really hard time with the controls, but when I looked at the comments and saw that you were meant to roll things into a ball (not push them in one at a time) I had a really good time! The volcano was adorable, I really liked the mixed 2D pixel/3D low-poly style.
Funny game, the vulcano having eyes constantly staring at me was a nice touch. At some point the ball became so chaotic it crashed the game lol. Good game

@robert18 Thanks for the screen shot! I was able to just resolve this issue, so you are now free to return to the chaos crash free!
@diccuric-sigeon I was able to just resolve this issue, so you are now free to return to the chaos crash free!
Adorable graphics and music! Thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, though I'm not too sure on what I feel about the sprite based arms. The overall loop was pretty good but I would've liked to have more of a motivation to keep pushing the debris. Also, the volcano is very cute!
i would probably put some barriers in keeping the player from getting to the water, specially since we can walk on it :D
Even if it's a little rough around the edges (quite alright for a compo entry!), the foundation here is really great! The eyes on the volcano are just perfect. Awesome premise as well. You could very easily elaborate on this!
La la la la la la la Katamari Damacy!
Very cute, I would 100% be that volcano's friend and the little pixel hands compliment the sound and feeling of the game. A little bit of weird clipping through terrain and I was able to throw myself into the volcano despite your best efforts to stop me, but still I greatly enjoyed throwing things into a pit of Lava. Very cathartic.
I just wanted to play katamari!
Great graphics and presentation, love the game over animation of volcano erupting. I think it could use some more challenge in getting debris to the volcano/ more debris further away and less debris right next to the entrance.
I did manage to launch myself out of the world by pushing debris ball into wall but that sort of thing doesn't detract from the game.
Cute little game! I loved the art and design of the island.
This is a cute, fun, buggy game and I love it.
The feeling of rolling everything into a ball and throwing it into the volcano is so much fun that I don't mind when things sometimes fall through the floor or catapult me into the air. I did experience one crash that locked the game up completely and forced me to restart it (the same "invalid conversion to integer" thing someone else mentioned), but otherwise this was great. The music and art and basic visual explanations of everything all work really well.
My only real complaint is that I wasn't able to throw myself into the volcano to keep it happy when I ran out of other things on the island.
Super solid entry! I didn't realize you couldn't sacrifice yourself to the volcano to make it happy after running out of other offerings. I wish there was an in-game score. Cute as hell volcano.
I also would have liked a counter for how many objects were held as I sometimes had difficulty telling whether or not I actually grabbed the object.
Thanks for the upload!
As everyone else already mention: Super cute graphics. The vulcano is just adorable! Also love the details like the smoke when the vulcano gets angry.
This game got me to think if it is possible to combine some LD games to a game series. Like, start with a sailing game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-greedy-pirates) then play your game and after that my game or any other lava based game. Wonder how far this could get
Great entry!
My only regret is that I could not offer more to the volcano. 5/5
Well that was a lot of fun, real Katamari vibes. Silly in the best possible way.
The audio was great, the graphics were great, everything fit together well. Really solid entry.
Love the cute face on the volcano, good use of billboard sprites there!
The music is amazing and adds to the game although I feel the game is too easy as you can just add one item to the volcano and it will reset the timer. Maybe another way is to have it accumulate over time, so the more unhappy the volcano is the more object it requires to go back to normal?
I was also able to fall into the volcano myself and was not able to reset myself.
Apart from that its a cool game and I like how all the objects roll together :)
Really cute little game with nice graphics and music, probably would have had a better game play loop if it had a score or something.
One little bug i found: sometimes the objects you pick just go under the terrain and straight into the volcano, which is very handy but a bit weird
Ahwyiss we katamari now! It seems the volcano didn't care too much about small or big objects, but in the end I ran out of stuff and, inevitably, it exploded.
Great game. I really loved graphics mainly super cute volcano.
i realy love the cute style ! and its a fun idea need to add something to make this adictive !
Very cute! I really like the island environment you built. It took me a long time to put down because I couldn't bear to see the big guy get upset but inevitably... Great job!
Not sure if this was just a problem for me, but the game seemed to think I was moving my mouse a little to the right constantly. I disabled my trackpad, used a different mouse, and turned off all input but my camera was always moving right. (This was on the HTML5 export specifically)
Otherwise, this is really cute and is really impressive for a first jump into 3D. I really like the contrast between the low-poly models for the environment and the pixel art for living things. It's obviously a little buggy (it could get really difficult to find the hitboxes of rubble to push around, and stuff got stuck in the ground a few times.) but when it was functioning correctly, it was really fun to see how big I could make my piles of stuff.
Really fun entry! Strong katamary damacy vibes, I was so happy when I discovered I can pretty much push everything. As said above, building a the biggest ball to push is fun! The art is quite nice, I think the music could have benefited from beeing less "calm" and more wacky. I had a few bugs with physics, where I would sometimes be projected in a random direction, but nothing too gamebreaking. The volcano animation at the end is great too! I love how the "inevitable" really is inevitable, as the amount of item is limited. This was great thank you!
Nice small game. nice touch that you can not fall in the lava yourself.
crash.png When I tossed myself into the vulcano the game crashed xD It's possible to glitch into the lava somewhere at the back of the vulcano :P
This is a fun little game. I found it kinda relaxing, even though the looming threat of the volcano is there.
:) Very cool game! I really like this. Poor volcano, I just want to make you happy! Strong Katamari Damacy vibes. I like the details like the sky color changes when the volcano gets angry. There are a couple rough points, like sometimes it's hard to see where you're going when holding things, and sometimes the things you're holding can get lost in the ground when going up an incline. But fun game! Excellent 3D models, great music!
Great game, loved the katamari-style gameplay and how cute the volcano was. Was very chill to just roll stuff around the island. Had some issues rolling the boulders as they tended to flicker and block your view, I really liked how the sky colour darkened and got redder over time though. Awesome job!
Super cute graphics and good concept, reminds me a lot of katamari obviously. The controls do seem a bit finnicky though.
I'm so happy to play this because our team had an hour long discussion whether we should do the mars rover game that we ended up creating, or to continue with an idea with the exact same premise as this!
So much fun to get to play both ideas in the end and this implementation is amazing!
Very funn and so cute, the music is very relaxing too ! volcanoo.png
I fed it everything! This was a fun little game with a clear end in sight, nicely done.
Oh my god I love this sweet lil volcano ToT
THIS GAME IS ADORABLE!! it took me a bit to get the hang of the controls but over all it was really fun!
Such a cute little game, and the volcano is adorable! A bit hard to push objects at first since you move so fast, perhaps a bigger radius for when objects "stick" to your push or something?
I loved the katamari feeling when I realised you can stack objects pushed together.
I really love the artstyle and the mood overall, would love to see this expanded upon and/or more games with this artstyle and feeling!
Great work!
Very cute and chill game, when I learned you can katamari everything it made it a lot more fun. Fantastic presentation.
One gameplay thing is that even though you can katamari everything, it doesn't seem to give you an advantage and it fact it seems disadvantageous to do so because putting in just one item makes him happy for seemingly the same amount of time. If it is currently advantageous to put in more objects at once I would like it to feel more like it.
Otherwise a very well presented and polished game!
Ok the volcano was adorable. Really good mix of the pixel art style and the low poly style. I love the Katamari influences with the rolling of the objects, and I really appreciate that everything you expect to be rollable/sacrificable is rollable/sacrificable.
I was a big fan of the volcano expressions. With simply that and the characters arms the game felt super cute. There are definitely some clipping issues, especially at the back of the island but otherwise very nice.
I didn't think a volcano could be this cute! Once I realized I could bundle multiple objects together for one big offering I was like "OMG IT'S FIRST-PERSON KATAMARI!" This was a real blast to play. Amazing work!
Very cute art and nice, clean execution, it's pretty amazing to build such a level and gameplay in less than 48 hours, great job !
Brilliant work! I particularly liked the exploration aspect of the game, having to walk around the island looking for things to push into the volcano was fun, especially towards the end when I was getting more and more desperate - that was a great use of the theme! All of the little details that went into the game were great to see as well, like being able to break the columns, or push the signs around, it really shows the effort that went into the game. Using the faces as a measure of time left was a neat feature as well, it was a great way of communicating to the player! I had a lot of fun playing this, good job!
The way everything roll on the floor is really funny, made me laugh indeed. And i guess no one would hate such a cute volcano who is also very easy to be comforted. When i try to explore the area behind volcano, i sank down from the ground somewhere.
Cool idea and a very cute volcano hahaha. I liked the use of the skybox as a countdown visual. I would have loved maybe some more items to drag around the island, I think I ran out after exploring everything or to make the time the volcano takes to explode increasingly shorter so that you don't find yourself waiting for it to explode without anything left to drag. Will give the player the impression that he can do better if he tries again :)
Very sweet game! I really loved the vibes. I feel like it's lacking some complexity - I don't know, maybe a way to produce sources? Basically a way to engage the player even more. But overall, nice concept.
This was such a good idea! and the cuteness is a perfect touch :) I love it!
So nice with a volcano game! Our team actually thought of doing one where you sacrifice stuff to the volcano but ended up doing something else instead.
The facial expressions of the volcano are priceless! Loved it. Also liked the graphics a lot and the tunes were nice to explore to.
Very enjoyable, rolling stuff around is quite nice
Image 10.png I've made it to the Nether!
SO CUTE. lost it when i realized I could basically pick up everything lmao ^v^
I made a quick VR conversion of this one, forked it on github  Thanks for including the source!
This little game was pretty neat. Quick playthrough on my Valve Index (though it works on whatever really since it's using OpenXR which supports a lot of headsets) https://youtu.be/JdK_eoHzCn8 I could've converted it more properly and have the pushing be tied to your two hands separately but that'd require a bit more refactoring than I was willing to do haha. Was fun though!
Also missing is the screen shake when you game over, sorry about that, cinemachine cameras all basically broke when adding VR so I had to get rid of em...
I loved this cute game! The gameplay is fun, and everything is so adorable!
@shadowbrain Wow that is fantastic! I love how the little mittens look in game. I can definitely imagine some fun ways to interact with stuff from a VR perspective!
Thanks for putting this together, it was very fun to watch
Funny game! The pushing mechanic feels very wild since the stuff you're pushing is spinning very fast and sometimes the camera makes it flash in and out of vision (maybe you could fix this a little by adjusting the camera clip plane). I love the setting of not trying to anger the volcano god. And the Katamari Damacy mechanic works very well!
Cute game! liked the vibe of this one - the mouse sensitivity was a little high for me and a lost a huge ball of fuel through the map :( but great job overall!
That was a really cute game! You did both art and programming, right @abrds? Did you do music as well? It was pretty chill! Picking up items to offer to the unsatiable hothead was a lot of fun. Eventually I ran out of items and decided to see what would happen if the volcano got angry. That was the end of my playthrough haha. Absolutely sick game if this was your first endeavor into the realm of 3D. I wish there was a little more to it but I will say I had a lot of fun playing this on stream the other day!
Thanks for playing @whirlguy ! I did create the Art, Mechanics, and music! Glad that you enjoyed all of those aspects of the game!
Rare Katamari-like game! Really enjoyed playing, as it simply never gets old rolling stuff up! Thank you for deciding on this idea! :D
Fun idea ! I loved that you could pick up pretty much anything to throw in the volcano.
Itadakimasu Volcano-chan!
Fun idea, it was cool to run around and gather all the trees, carts and marbles from the plaza, and later going outside for big rocks and more trees. I didn't really feel the theme there as the game was pretty lenient with Volcano-chan getting angry, especially when there was no ticking anything or a progression bar. But perhaps that's why it was so cute? :volcano:
I loved the art (especially the cute hand sprites in front, was very encouraging to keep pushin' it in), though I wish the camera zoomed out a bit when I started pushing objects so I could see around them better (this was only an issue with the larger objects).
I had difficulty to get the game controls but once you get the understanding of collecting other objects. I started understanding the mechanics. Art style had a cute feel to it. Game play was similar to that of Katamari games
Took me a while to understand that you can roll a ball of debris/objects to feed the volcano. Overall, the volcano is pretty cute and I liked the music, was pretty chill. However, the controls are too sensitive and needs polishing.
