Just an excellent game. Very innovative, well done
What does this require? It tells me I have a mismatch and can't get it to load.
It was fun! Really good take on the theme. I loved the environment art and the fact that the options were shown in the stained glass was a nice touch. Some of the other art does take me out of the setting though.
Overall, well done!
very Nice bit of interactive fiction! it must have been a lot of work coming up with all those combinations but also lots of fun. I wonder how randomizing the order of those prompts every night would have changed the game. On one hand it could make the tale crafting more engaging, but on the other hand it could have distracted from the story telling.
well, done, when trying to create a story the Sultan was catching on, impressive. Cool idea
Oh. Didn't see that coming...
@madeline Oh no! Can you tell us which browser you were using?
What an excellent idea to use the story of Scheherazade for this theme. Very good game! Great job!
Great game and great visuals. I tried to tell a story about a heroic cat, that everyone fell in love with. Well... at least I liked the story haha :D
Ok that was fun haha :D
I really like the idea and how you put all together! Great job! You should consider taking this project forward after the jam :)
Really liked this one, the music really matched the tone of the game
@roberto-romao Absolutely looking forward for opportunity to untangle some of the spaghetti behind this one.
I really love this take on the theme. And the setting you chose reminded me of the very first prince of persia, don't know if that was intended.
@RaXaH Absolutely. The room the game takes place in is directly inspired by the princess's intro room from the original PoP. It was a bit of an adventure building it too because I had no idea where to even start (you can see as far as I'd ever gotten designing anything in my previous LD games) so I had to fall back on [geometry](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/1001-nights/when-youre-not-a-pixel-artist-and-you-just-gotta-do-the-greek-and-romans-thing) and learn from there.
Cute, innovative game. Liked the art and theme of it. My one critique was that the feedback around what story to tell didn't really make sense enough to inform me how to improve my story telling.
This was really interesting. I was amused with the large number of directions a story could go, as well as the reactions it would receive. Cool game.
Oh... My girl kills the Sultan. Surprisingly! There are very beautiful characters in this game^^
Fun idea for a game! I really like the theme, and I've never seen this kind of a system before, so I thought it very nice!
Fantastic little game. Great take on the theme, and the Sultan's responses feel organic and the gameplay really conveys the time pressure of having to improvise a story on the spot. Music and graphics are up to snuff too!
Love it, the music and game are great, was hard at first to find all the combos with the time limit, once you know how it's laid out it gets a lot easier though!
Is the layout of the room a reference to prince of persia? The layout and look is similar enough it's the first thing I think of when looking at it (for those who haven't played it, I'll put a screenshot below for comparison so you can see what I mean) prince.png
@raptor851 Yup!
Ahhhh... what an interesting take on the theme. It must have taken a long time (Ludum Dare scale) to get all the responses from the sultan working as they do. Impressive. Loved the pixel art. Awesome LD entry :raised_hands:
Fascinating idea, and the main mechanic was a brilliant use of that idea! It was impressive how you got the responses working so well, especially with the Sultan's memory, and I loved how he kept calling me out on my nonesense (how does a dead king marry a giant that just fell on him?). All of the different choices were great to see as well, I never felt limited by them and I never had to repeat anything either, even across playthroughs (unless it was to annoy the sultan). The timer was a good addition as well, it made things a bit more challenging, and the option to adjust the timings was a nice consideration also. Brilliant work on this, it was a great entry, so very well done!
Interesting game. I would love to see GPT-3 used to generate the speech from the selected words
A interesting idea, well put together. Just the Sultan artwork that feal out of the place.
