LD50 — Delay the inevitable

The Last Church by sawtan 2022-04-06T20:59:19Z

Good job on this game. The graphics are simple but neat, consistent, with a good choice of colors. Together with the sound it really conveys the right mood. One thing you can improve on is to make the controls a bit more clear. I didn't know you could upgrade the towers until I read it in the comments here. But I guess I could have read the page more carefully :D

Taxed to Death by jasontherand 2022-04-07T17:34:05Z

At first glance this game seems simple, but it is harder than one would think. Especially considering the mild time pressure you have from the cart following you and the additional (always changing) consideration you need to make from the bonus quests. The song gives it the little extra on top of that.

Settlers & Prophecies by Chocolat-Endive 2022-04-08T18:32:12Z

Amazing game! I like it in almost all aspects (only thing that came a bit short was the theme). I love the art style, the music and the gameplay is challenging (especially if you first have to figure out how things work). Some suggestions for minor improvements:

-make placing buildings a left click event only, my mouse wheel accidentally messed up my city plan once

-I respect your choice of making the building placement permanent, but you should at least make an undo button then to revert your last building if it was an accident (in the heat I missplaced some buildings by one tile several times)

-a pause button would be nice for this kind of game

We also did our entry with godot and noticed the sound issue in some browsers. If you find the cause/ a way to fix it, please let me know :)

Art style, music and story really set a brilliant mood. Best game in the mood category I've seen so far!

Dungeon Dummies by Jozef 2022-04-05T15:51:58Z

Really great puzzle game. The mechanics are intuitive without being explained (or you figure it out really quick). The difficulty curve is balanced for the levels and the art + sounds are good and consistent. Only thing I am missing is the reference to the theme. Great job overall!

Save prisoner Ryan by Maxime Cyr 2022-04-05T13:47:20Z

A Simple, but still fun game. Gives me some GTA vibes. And I love the humoristic take on the theme.

Populus Romanus by Bauke Regnerus 2022-04-08T16:21:42Z

Nice game with interesting gameplay. The graphics are neat and I like the interpretation of the theme. In contrast to some of the previous comments I do think it is the right design choice, that later placed houses do not receive the bonuses from existing buildings (even if it makes less sense). One thing I would have loved more though: Don't stop the game (at year 10 i think it was), but let the player play until the board is full.

You will drown by Life_Lich 2022-04-05T17:56:47Z

Simple and nice little game. The gameplay is very interesting and is fitting to the jam's theme. I also like the unlockables between games, so it has some replayability. The graphics are simple which is fitting for this game, but what I dislike is that the art style is not consistent. Between the cartoonish environment and characters, the buildings and the font feel a bit out of place. Good game overall.

Beavers Inc. by ditam 2022-04-05T12:13:10Z

I love this game! The gameplay is simple, but really innovative and interesting. Though i needed some time to figure out what the mechanics are. I only found out in the last level, that you can pair the beavers <3 So a little info window at the start would be nice.

Unknowable by Briibot 2022-04-05T14:16:50Z

Fun and interesting take on the theme. To me its still not really clear what the distraction with the objects is actually doing.

Robots attack! by Lichead studio 2022-04-05T13:13:36Z

I cant seem to figure out how you are supposed to interact with the game. So far, only thing I was able to do is to push the two towers around with my body to aim at the enemies. But it doesnt feel like thats the intended way to interact with the game. Do you have any further instructions?

I really love this take on the theme. And the setting you chose reminded me of the very first prince of persia, don't know if that was intended.

Death's Gambit by osh.studio 2022-04-05T11:14:20Z

Nice little game with a bit of strategy and really fitting to the theme. Graphics and sounds are top. For the gameplay: It feels a bit too random at some points (had a game where the reaper actually started beside me) and teleports power level is kinda high compared to the other cards. Also: its nice, that you can collect cards by walking over them instead of having to end your turn on them, but maybe you could include either a way of setting an exact path (shift-queue) or have a pathing system, that prioritize collecting cards on the way if possible.

Project Memory: Delay Extinction by RaXaH 2022-04-08T16:41:36Z

@marcmagus Thanks for playing our game on stream and for the good feedback. We plan on working on those things for a post-jam version.

Project Memory: Delay Extinction by RaXaH 2022-04-12T14:39:58Z

@fromage Thanks for your feedback. Conveying a proper how to play, as well as balancing all options equally came a bit short in the 72h time frame we had, sadly. Currently there are strategies that lead to a win, where you either play only with rangers or without rangers at all. This is not the way we intended how the game should be played, so we are currently working on a post-jam version that addresses this issue.

Last Landing by alpqty 2022-04-11T21:25:09Z

I like the idea and the graphics are nice and consistent. Gameplay has some room for improvement. In general it would have been nice if either the difficulty increased or some new challenges appeared for the player to overcome as he progresses. btw I might have landed my ship into an other city instead  last_landing.png

Paper Summoner by Narudgi 2022-10-04T17:37:46Z

Really fun game, enjoyed playing it. Although I would have loved if the inputs to cast a spell would be different every time.

Tower of the Dice God by Skyward4d 2022-10-04T14:49:30Z

Nice little game. Had to play so long that I at least get to know what limit break does :D Graphics are simple but clean and consistent. 2 little bugs: If you're standing in the right most corner your cube might fire into the wall right although you're aiming the other direction. Limit break lags the game really hard. The game was really fun to play and keeping progress even when you die makes it not frustrating and motivates you to keep going.

Ten-Second Teleport by RaXaH 2022-10-04T17:19:21Z

@adinimys We uploaded a downloadable version that has checkpoints. If you fall into a pit you lose one life and respawn at the checkpoint instead of having to start all over again.

Ten-Second Teleport by RaXaH 2022-10-04T17:53:00Z

@100th-coin Thanks a lot for your feedback. We had no experience in making a platformer going into this jam, so your feedback is really helpful to us.

Exp10sion by lynnezzzy 2022-10-04T19:53:54Z

Really great game. I love the idea and would love to play more levels. If you plan to develope this further after the jam I'd suggest to either lift or extend the time limit to have more room for more interesting level design. But for the jam theme its just perfect!
