Very nice! I really like the reroll mechanic and the shop design! Expected balance imperfections aside, my only complain is the lack of autofire, since it's always a disadvantage to stop shooting as fast as you can (my hand hurts)! TOTDG.png
Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the game! There should be auto-fire if you hold down the left mouse button. I tested it with my mouse and trackpad after uploading and it worked for both. Is there anything unique about your input device or browser? If so, I'll know to test that environment for future games to ensure it works for everyone.
Nice mechanics, but a bit overtuned at first levels (because it was too late for me to see there is the shop). But looks absolutely great!

Nice little game. Had to play so long that I at least get to know what limit break does :D Graphics are simple but clean and consistent. 2 little bugs: If you're standing in the right most corner your cube might fire into the wall right although you're aiming the other direction. Limit break lags the game really hard. The game was really fun to play and keeping progress even when you die makes it not frustrating and motivates you to keep going.
I like the idea of the game it was just a bit hard in the beginning. The audio was good and balanced. I like the graphic style and the idea that you are re-rolled with new abilities. Decent entry!
I ve managed to flow off the screen: Screenshot 2022-10-04 at 16.57.25.png
That's a fun little game!
I had a few janky collisions with the side walls when trying to jump against them, and would love to see more enemy types.
Other than that though, I really enjoyed the shop system and the saved progression between runs. :)

Fun and addicting. Still I'm not sure about the bounce or even homing mechanic. Because there's not a lot lot stray bullets in this game I mean you always shoot right at the monsters. So the 4 and 6 advantage fall very quickly. Also I would have prefer the game with no general skills but only dice skills. So you can levelup all of them, or having your own preference and taking the risk that your best dice is not used often. Also the platform engine need more work : the jump behave weirdly and you can stick into wall or even fall off the level ( my game ended like this )

Okay, this game is very good. Nice mechanics, cool rogue like elements and the overall idea. Really good.
However my run ended when I jumped of the screen and that's it. Also it's kind easy to game the mechanics after a while. You gather all the enemies in the middle and then just jump around them, while they are staying in the middle. That's exactly how I ended up off screen, lol)
anyway, really good!
Nice game! Had a lot of fun (I did accidentally jump out of the arena and softlock at the end though :joy:) Most of the upgrade felt like they had a really satisfying impact (and the crit text is always cool!). If you were to build it out a bit more it would be nice to see some diversity in the enemies you face, maybe even a boss fight! (Although that definitely wouldn't be doable in the scope of a jam). The dice roll mechanic taking you from periods of power (2/3/5) to periods of weakness (1/4/6) felt good to me
This game is great! The design is great, the Graphics looks surprisingly good, and the shop is amazing. i love this little roguelite! Very fun game! The only complaints i have are stuff that would've taken a signifigant amount of time, such as the complete lack of enemy variety (although perhaps a big enemy with more hp would've been easy) and the fact that the game is not very balanced (2,3 and 5 are far better than 1,4, and 6 due to the enemies coming in swarms rather than singular tough ones.) The game is super fun, though!
One of the best I played so far. The concept is nice, simple and works great.
A surprisingly addictive game, super fun. I got 82 floors in and nearly broke my browser with some of the limit break explosions!

surprisingly addictive and fun! It was a nice touch to let you keep the buffs and money, which stopped me from ragequitting my first try. 5/5 great game!
Fun game, played until I got the limit break which was cool. Definitely could have used some enemy variety or something since it kind of became impossible to lose after you got enough upgrades.

Nice game! It is surprisingly addictive. Ended up playing until I Maxed everything out, only issue I had was that the "jump" was a bit jagged. Good work.

It's an interesting twist on the shoot 'm up genre. Limit break is absolutely OP, which I guess was intended. Having some diversity in enemy types and movement patterns would be interesting. I ran into a few issues like not being able to shoot while in the corner and being able to jump repeatedly, allowing me to jump out of the game area and soft-lock the game.

Really nice game! The graphics & sound design are a bit simplistic, otherwise it's pretty fun! Managed to get almost all upgrades but at some point I seem to have jumped too high and moved somewhere out of the game field (judging by the remaining enemies, who were moving to the bottom-right through the wall).

Too addicting, I can't go much further of these upgrades)Screenshot 2022-10-04 at 17.31.19.png
@lisyarus @dileriuml @slothzilla-games @bcmpinc @ganny @nicekot @matt-barnfield Thanks so much for playing, and for all the valuable feedback. All extremely fair comments about the jumping, I knew the implementation was less than ideal, but didn't leave myself enough time to go back and rewrite it. If I pursue development post-jam, that will be the first thing I fix!
@skyward4d I'm pretty sure this will shine for mobile :)

Played until roughly 90 floors then ended up flying out of the screen. It's quite fun and addicting to be honest. Ended up unlock most of the upgrades including limit break which was really fun. Though at some point you are one-shoting enemies so the damage upgrades end up feeling pointless. And the different weapons are not too well balanced because there are so much enemies on the screen that you don't really care for bouncing off walls or target tracking. You just want AoE at some point.
Also I don't know how intended this is but I found that the best approach was to maximize move speed a jump in order to alternate all 4 corners of the screen to have enemies running in circles in the middle.
Last thing, regarding the dice... Is this somehow related to the latest GMTKjam theme ? Maybe a continuation of an idea you had there ?
Overall, well done !

Okay, I have to stop playing at floor 137 or so because there are more games to play hahahah! But really fun! Clearing up the waves of enemies is pretty satisfying, and there's a good amount of things to upgrade. The walls would sometimes block my attacks if I was too close to a corner and the jump is craazy at max level, I even got out of the arena once. I also found the bouncy attack a little underwhelming cat max level compared to the other ones, I would've liked maybe that if I made them bounce they would deal more damage than hitting the enemies directly. Nonetheless, great job!! 2022-10-04_174127.png
@jamersjam @benjamin Thanks for the comments around the balancing. I was definitely having second thoughts about 4 and 6 as the development went on, since I agree with you that they're pretty useless as the game progresses. If I was doing it again, I think I'd replace them with more of a chain-lightning attack and a damage over time that spreads to nearby enemies (like fire/poison or something) so they can influence more than just a single enemy at once. And yeah, more dice-specific upgrades along with enemy variants would have ideally been included, but I decided to cut them out of the scope of the jam. Thanks for playing, and for all the feedback!

Yo @skyward4d, what a great entry! I played this way too long :D Dice 5 FTW! (and jumping!!)
Gameplay feels great! Ability switching every 10 seconds feels like a really really good use of the theme. And shooting felt excellent. The abilities were different enough to be easily recognizable and they all felt good. Having dice 1 as much weaker was a brilliant way of keeping tension up. The only thing I found annoying is that if you were to try to sneak below a group of enemies but they were too low, you'd instantly lose all your health and was very unforgiving. Having your whole run disappear because of one mistake felt a bit frustrating. Maybe only allowing 1 damage and then half a second or so of damage prevention would have made it easier on the soul.
Overall a really well made entry and great amount of polish. Visuals were clear and UI looked nice. Movement strategy was quite simple and maybe repetitive so that's something that could be improved, but it all felt very fun nonetheless. Great work!

Super fun and engaging game! Had the same addictiveness as an idle game for me but in a more engaging way. I think some of the numbers could be buffed in interesting ways like 4 bounces off enemies which could allow the shots to hit multiple enemies or 6 could home to another enemy after hitting the first. The limit break on 1 was so cool though and a great reward for continuing to play and get that much gold. Great game, well done :)
Really addictive roguelike. Great fun and very polished! Cohesive UI and Game Assets. One small thing, the text was a little blurry for me but I know how the web is with these things!
You left such a nice comment on my game so I had to try yours, and I loved it. I really want to make something similar to this for my next game, an upgrade style came you can just keep playing over and over. I had so much fun with this and the audio never got too dull for me. I did find that the 2 and 3 dices were really good and the 5 dice was super super OP. If I rolled any of the other dices late game I was screwed, I also found that I could jump out of the map. Loved it so much, great entry :)
Lol like others, I couldn't help but stick around until limit break, and then played a bunch more floors after that just to reap that reward and enjoy my hard-earned work! I'd say if there wasn't a chase item like that, I wouldn't have stuck around much more than after I maxed out my dice weapons, so great job on that.
Coming into this jam I actually expected a lot more weapon switching games. It might be possible I somehow subconsciously avoided all of them, but this was the first one I saw that did it. It was interesting to change up shooting strategy and positioning as your dice changed, though once I maxed out jump height I could always just dodge things until I got a more effective weapon. That was a nice surprise btw, because most people wouldn't think jump height would be terribly valuable here but it definitely is once maxed.
A pretty neat shooter with a classic, addictive upgrade loop. It's nice to see a pure random game after seeing so many roguelikes with 3 card choices pop up lately (including my submission :P )
Really solid and addicting, Some enemy variety would be cool but still sick!

Ahhh I got soft locked after I got so far!!
sdsds.PNG
I was avoiding a large pack and somehow jumped out of bounds of the map and I assume I just kept falling into infinity.
But anyway, this was just fantastic. The game design is so onpoint. For some inexplicable reason I was just hooked to keep leveling and going on and on. I can sit here and say how there could have been more variety in enemies and perhaps more clarity in what the power of each number does, but honestly I just kept playing and playing because it was just that fun. A job well done and thank you for the entry!
nice
Very fun addictive game, had a blast with it. Like some other commenters, I ended up flying off-screen. I also had some issues with the wall collisions - you could sort of cling onto them, in a way that didn't really feel intended. Great entry overall though!
Fun game! I had to keep playing to see the different upgrades and only stopped when I fell off the map. Dice2.png
I feel like it would've been improved if it was top down, especially since the jump was little buggy. Still a fun game. Good job!
I like the concept of the game nice job !

Fun and addictive. I managed to get limit break, although I ended up flying off the top before I could figure out what it did. It did seem like the different weapon types were a bit unbalanced, but I suspect that's intentional. Nice job!
For our youtube channel we made some short videos where we rate games. This game was one of the videos and I thought I would give you a link to go check it out! https://youtube.com/shorts/KKOS1N8nKmc?feature=share
