LD49 — Unstable

Bleeding Edge Software by HitchH1k3r 2021-10-11T00:23:04Z

Well it's definitely a surprising entry. I felt it's a bit over the top in some places but in any case it's a unique experience.

1. I was genuinely surprised when I encountered the effect of glitch card for the first time. And the murder cards was suddenly funny.

2. Mental health probably. But it was too sudden imo. I didn't quite feel the proper development. Like I just pressed a few cards with normal actions and the stuff went too crazy too quickly.

3. I'd say fun. Because the snake part wasn't fun for me )

The mood, theme and innovation are top tier though.

What I also could complain is probably that you don't have time to actually read the text on cards in snake. So it is probably some part of why I missed the development.

CYBER LANCER by juegoman 2021-10-06T19:31:52Z

Very nice overall, I had fun! Though it seemed a bit unfair when you got caught in flashing platform and nearby safe zone was on the opposite side.

Newcomen Atmospheric Engine by axelrinaldo 2021-10-11T21:46:51Z

Cute game! Was a bit frustrated in the beginning but once you grasp the flow it's hard to lose :)

Nice theme and idea too.

Balkanization 1 by kr4ft3r 2021-10-05T22:09:07Z

That's one hilarious game. Had a great laugh, thank you guys!

Unstable Airline by albertnez 2021-10-05T19:35:13Z

It's surprising that's for sure. How you even come with an idea like that :D I had fun, thanks!)

Criticality by 3mpty 2021-10-06T22:09:57Z

Amazing job! Mechanics are complex but well understood and overall feel is very good. 5 from me!

Toil and Trouble by bassguitarbill 2021-10-05T21:28:19Z

So chill and cute. Music is so pleasant. I like this very much!

Path of Giants by Jon_Nova 2021-10-05T20:54:47Z

Nice puzzle game! Great that you had to figure something out to advance. I enjoyed it. I hope next time you will get your ice cream! :D

The Eye of Glower-On by UkuleleFury 2021-10-10T19:17:09Z

I like the overall design and idea. Your powers feel a bit overpowered at first but later on, with more chaos on the screen, it feels justified.

Nice job!

Crash Fraud by Ventuscaclium 2021-10-11T00:02:29Z

Nicely done. Solid entry, good mechanics and overall fun experience. Sometime the destruction feels a bit random. You understand what you need to do but have to do it over and over until the physics play out in the way you had it in mind.

And I didn't really get how to use lock.

Dialogues are a highlight for me!

Wine Guy by johanhelsing 2021-10-05T20:44:57Z

I would like a little bit more on the visual feedback to better understand how to actually balance the plate.

But overall a very nice project! Thanks!

Enhanced by Hermitao 2021-10-05T18:57:41Z

Very nice art style and overall direction. Good job!

Stien by Bauke Regnerus 2021-10-09T16:12:19Z

Amazing entry to LD! Sound, style, gameplay it's all so impressive. I like how you combined dice rolls and cards. Though cards mechanic wasn't obvious at start.

Celestial Waltz by gasgiant 2021-10-09T23:54:47Z

Wonderful job. Great music choice and great take on the theme. I like this a lot.

Russian Connect by YellowKamel 2021-10-05T20:40:20Z

For Mother Russia indeed! Stellar voice acting :D

Funstable by emk4 2021-10-05T16:27:20Z

Unfortunately, can't get past initial area. Every tool keeps disappearing right after I touch it (

Headspace by Voidsay 2021-10-05T20:28:32Z

Alright, that was an... experience! Rather unique one. I'm not sure if I finished it or not but "All 5 stars" you say, right? :D

MIFFED by Caladrius 2021-10-05T21:49:08Z

I had a very good laugh playing this. Nice!

JankenMaho by aaron1_cabj 2021-10-05T19:39:40Z

Very unusual twist for a well known game. Nicely done!

Citride by Asemic 2021-10-05T19:53:44Z

Very nicely done. Good concept and I really liked that the gameplay is very intuitive. You don't need any long explanations and tutorials. Just go with it.

It's good!

Unstable Isotopes by Recher 2021-10-10T17:09:54Z

It's hard to plan too much ahead due to amount of energy you have at the start. So just make a few moves and launch a reaction playout itself. But this is suddenly a very satisfying process.

I enjoyed experimenting with it. Very nice!

A day in a life of an electric spaceship owner by spacecadet 2021-10-11T00:44:11Z

Very cute and funny game.

The gameplay is intense though. The only problem I can see is a hitbox of stairs. Quite often you think that you should be able to use the stairs but it's not the case and you net few more steps to adjust the character.

Rogue Planets by Roboolet 2021-10-05T19:29:00Z

I liked this one a lot. Gravity physics and trajectories are well done!

Overpowered by njs 2021-10-05T20:15:19Z

This one is super cool. Animations, combat, theme. Very well done!

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-06T18:48:02Z

Really cool and fun mix of ideas. It works well even though a bit unintuitive in the beginning.

My First Game Jam Game by thedude3600 2021-10-05T19:06:22Z

Very nice puzzle game. Really appreciate what you have done here

Baba Yaga by Teegan 2021-10-05T16:12:21Z

Very uncommon setting and amazing style. Interesting control scheme.

That's really nice!

Unstable City by Spike Studio 2021-10-06T20:45:06Z

It's nice and challenging in the beginning but it's not too hard to stabilize your city and get a surplus for all of the parameters.

Good job anyway, Pleasant graphics and cool idea. That's a 5 from me.

Critical Night by Underdog 2021-10-05T22:29:13Z

Old Serious Sam vibes. The recoil is too tough though. After first night you can't reliably aim and evade monsters.

But overall it's still very nice!

Luna's Painful Pastel Promenade by GuessImLuna 2021-10-05T19:50:07Z

Very much liked this one! It has the same vibe as Getting Over It, and it plays extremely well. I like how it's both forgiving with sticky mechanics but still punishing for big mistakes.

Amazing balance, huge props from me!

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-09T16:20:58Z

It's hard to properly manage your platform and turrets, but I really like your take on the theme. Overall realisation is also great.

Nice job!

Circus Panic by Fedev 2021-10-05T21:53:32Z

Challenging and nicely done game. Good job!

We're Going Nuclear! by Ryan Winstead 2021-10-05T16:15:00Z

Great theme! It's hard to understand what's going as everything is coming up too fast. But overall it's good!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Mini Dungeon Tactics by Joror 2022-10-05T21:54:24Z

Really cool concept, making it in pen and paper style was great move. Nice!

Are We There Yet? by CameronPenner 2022-10-09T02:27:21Z

Yeah, I can't relate as I don't have a stepson. Luckily. Though, the game is done very well. Great effort.

And that's probably the most unusual and interesting approach to the current's LD theme. You have my fives :)

Impending Doom of a Thousand Kitties by RalfZ 2022-10-04T18:45:45Z

That's adorable!)

I just didn't understood full well when the cats are fed and when they are not.

The Night Owl Murder by Iluvatar 2022-10-06T22:21:33Z

That's a very good stuff. So surprising to find a fully voiced game made in game-jam. And voiced good! I especially liked Rogers's acting.

My only gripe is that art just a bit too much pixelated, but otherwise it's 5 stars. Mood, theme, good writing. Ghost character is nice, the setting is intriguing.

You nailed it.

Heartbeat by Shess 2022-10-12T00:48:39Z

Been thinking of something like this as well. Nicely done and well built. Music is good too!

I just don't understand the losing conditions. Sometimes I press everything right, everything is green but I am ending up dead anyway. Do you have to press space only in the red zone? Or do it more often?

Plop by Ayced 2022-10-08T00:22:41Z

Nice project. Not always the cursor attaches to the buttons so sometimes it's frustrating, that you want to make a move and ending up not doing anything.

And I wish there were music. But in general it's good!

Assault on Hartblood Hotel by kiririn51 2022-10-04T17:55:44Z

So you guys did it again :) Just beat the game. The music is awesome. The story is such an engaging bonkers, so good. I wish there'd be a bit more of the side dialogues!

Though I encountered a number of problems. 1. Mask's Discharge ability only targets one enemy instead of all, as it says in the description 2. The visual indicator of HP getting reset after each fight, but the actual health does not

Also I have a feeling that I did not progress properly. Because I was stuck after Key 1 and found a shortcut in the black space outside of playable area. To go from the breach in the wall from the starting location directly to the room with Key 3.

Never found Key 2, heh.

Anyway, thanks for your entry. It's always a treasure.

Radar by bbaf 2022-10-08T00:35:46Z

Match it Fast by CharlieMrl 2022-10-04T14:10:02Z

It's so well made and the rabbits are wanky in a good way. But it's so stressful, 10 seconds constrains really pushes you hard to move forward.

Anyway, very solid game!

Meteor Racing by Andreadbx 2022-10-04T14:26:32Z

Well I didn't expect that the actual meteors will start falling down on track! Great aesthetics, and it works well! Driving physics might get a bit more polish especially the deceleration rate when you stop accelerating. Other then that it's a very solid entry!

PS: Of course I missed the part about that in the description.

Sinister Urbanism by SudoCat 2022-10-04T01:00:38Z

I like the aesthetics, settings and overall art style. Mixing a card game and city builder was also an interesting gameplay mechanic.

However I struggled somewhat with understanding of how actually different city blocks work and what I have to do.

Waves by RiptideStudio 2022-10-05T20:13:57Z

So atmospheric that I felt almost physical discomfort from it. Even though I am not claustrophobic.

My biggest problem was the third key. I found one in the big room, second in the room behind the vent shaft. And spent too much time looking for what I missed. Imagine my surprise when I found the "final" key, heheh.

Very impressive. Thanks.

Medieval Politics by sillyman987 2022-10-04T16:13:13Z

Yeah, all my playthroughs ended up with NaN so I couldn't reach any conclusion, but overall it's funny. Not gonna lie, the requests from French soldiers were unexpected!

Gottschalk by krakadushka 2022-10-04T21:53:16Z

You went all in for the style, huh

The actual gameplay is tense and the points constraints are brutal. However, with such tight timing you could definitely improve the "hitboxes" of the buttons and items. When you try to refill your stock you have to click all over the button just to find the spot where it will work. Same with the items pictures. You try to drag and drop quickly, but you miss at least one pixel of the picture and the item is not picked up. Which kinda breaks the flow.

ANIMAL HOLE by ben_throop 2022-10-09T13:27:54Z

I was expecting a rick-roll in the end, to be honest :D

Morbid Expedition by Celulo 2022-10-05T20:38:09Z

Yeah, it's very impressive. Super creepy. If only it had more weapon types and I would also like a bit faster movement.

Anyway, as an LD entry that's awesome!

Forkin Around by FastAndBlast 2022-10-06T14:19:27Z

Cool project! Was a bit frustrated at first with the movement and also only on 3rd run I read the message about the shop and upgrades, lol.

Anyway, looks cool, works great, nice design! Like.

BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 by Eugenik 2022-10-04T16:18:49Z

That's some disturbing sound design. When I was breaking stuff my FPS tanked hard and unfortunately made it very hard to meaningfully progress through the level.

However, it was a nice experience. Good job!

10 Seconds Or Less by RTDMFN 2022-10-06T22:38:04Z

Cute little game, though a bit too easy. The driving mechanics are really well done and it was satisfying to drive a car. The model is also nice.

Good job!

Alice In Ten Seconds by Golin 2022-10-06T21:01:03Z

DUDE, THIS IS BRUTAL! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!

No really, at first I was like: "awwww, so cute and lovely!" but THEN! I will give it all fives. This is super good!

Treasure Tactics by Martta 2022-10-04T14:33:14Z

That's a well made game. Very unique way of mixing turn-based and real time mechanics. But I always found out myself just stuck without moves and cannonballs approaching. I guess I need to better plan my moves, heheh.

Anyway, enjoyed it!

Trackdizzia by lisyarus 2022-10-07T22:44:14Z

Well made game, great take on the theme, overall very very nice. I liked it a lot!

And it has a great variety! Impressed to see such rounded-up project in Compo.

@fedir @general @annbush Congratulations, you've been exposed to the alternative point of view maybe for the first time in your life.

I understand that this might be a traumatic experience, but I would still suggest to continue researching different sources not from your curated news feed.

Having a balanced world-view is good for your mental health :)

Imminent by T90. 2022-10-04T19:48:19Z

@fedir take a moment to reflect. Why do you think what you think? How you can be sure that what you think is true? What are you doing here in the comments? Why are your repeating the poorest takes imaginable? Have you ever heard of Taran's theorem?

I can give you a hint. You've been fed a strict undisputed narrative, your information bubble is thick and constantly reinforced. You are not questioning even the most odd claims. You have turned yourself into the relay of propaganda. Don't think, just spread the word.

What a sad sight.

@fedir the only thing got cancelled here is your sanity.

Imminent by T90. 2022-10-05T20:29:12Z

@ega1232387 that's an unfortunate turn of events, but, to be honest, it was inevitable after the first ukrainian nationalist in the thread. I tried to keep the discussion at least somewhat civil, but they are not interested in anything except mob tactics to cancel everyone who disagrees with them. No wonder that some people from pro-Russian side decides to show them that two can play this game.

Right now they are spamming the owner of Ludum Dare in twitter, using false moral arguments to push him to delete our entry to LD. And this was also expected.

Anyway, if you decide to try the game, we would appreciate any feedback!

Imminent by T90. 2022-10-06T06:04:05Z

@bozzwtf Hi! I have already mentioned, that we generated all of the art with the stable diffusion AI. This is also stated in the credits.

@plovvkusni @dansi212 @eiesoldar @jhin-grace Thanks for the feedback and support guys!

Giving that we had only three days to develop the game from scratch, it was necessary to cut a lot of corners and butcher bunch of ideas/features.

Right now we are thinking about adding a story mode with a few missions and built-in tutorial, refining the mechanics, cleaning the UI, fixing art and getting rid of the bugs.

As for the hit probability, it's just a percentage based probability depending on the target type. That's it.

Imminent by T90. 2022-10-06T13:33:41Z

@workers this is what complete moral bankruptcy looks like.

Imminent by T90. 2022-10-06T21:10:54Z

@yukiari We are ourselves huge anime fans, so I can relate.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. There will be definitely a tutorial and more content in general with patches.

Regarding your take on the "generally wrong" side it's much more complicated to it then "just one country attacking the other". We are in this strife for a very long time, the war didn't begin this year, not even 8 years ago. I would gladly explain the history behind the current military escalation, but I just don't think that comment section of Ludum Dare game-jam is the best place for history and geopolitics discussions :)

Tender Bar! by infecsean 2022-10-04T13:51:18Z

Nice style and music.

I like the idea too, but it was kinda odd that customers kept running away to the opposite side of the room. And while I was trying to bring them anything they have already disappeared.

Wouldn't it be better if they came to the bar by themselves and expressed what they want? Or just make the room smaller. Or a mini map! :D

Flocker by Jaker 2022-10-09T02:38:23Z

This is so pretty. Spent some time just playing around with it. Sad that there's no sound, but the looks, visuals and theme will have my fives.

Fantastic job. I really appreciate when people are able to create something so nice using just simple figures and particles.

Tower of the Dice God by Skyward4d 2022-10-04T14:58:59Z

Okay, this game is very good. Nice mechanics, cool rogue like elements and the overall idea. Really good.

However my run ended when I jumped of the screen and that's it. Also it's kind easy to game the mechanics after a while. You gather all the enemies in the middle and then just jump around them, while they are staying in the middle. That's exactly how I ended up off screen, lol)

anyway, really good!

Sally's Scribbles by Enjl 2022-10-04T01:12:54Z

That's amazing. All fives from me. Animation, style, gameplay is great and fits 100% into the theme.

As a person who can barely draw at all I actually had a lot of fun!

Nuclear Pulse by erikengineengineer 2022-10-04T12:44:52Z

Wow, the background after 10th explosions started to destroy my eyes. It was very hard to focus. Until I figured out that there's actually a radar in the corner :)

the shooting becomes irrelevant on higher speeds 'cause it's kinda slow and you just don't have enough time to aim and shoot. Heck, after ~20th explosion you barely have time to evade asteroids using radar.

Anyway, the music is tense and the idea is cool!

THE_MACHINE_KNOWS_HATE by HexyVexy 2022-10-04T12:21:30Z

It's amazing how much style you can get with just a few colours. I guess some downside these flashing lights mechanic is that sometimes you just have to stand and wait for the flash. So it's kinda breaks the flow of the game.

But style and theme are top notch.

Peter OS by Brandsma 2022-10-04T12:06:06Z

That's an unexpected concept! The most fun was interactions with the people, but I got constant RAM error message. If only I could actually close or delete some of the apps... especially netflix. It was the only app that did open and kept spamming me :D but I guess that's the point :)

Boood night by MrHumannn 2022-10-04T14:02:59Z

That's very cute!

The only criticism I have is that some objects are used both for hiding and interacting. So you might be planning to hide there only to find yourself caught by mother.

10 planet of the Alos system by Fedir 2022-10-04T21:58:46Z

Labyrinthos by Armgarr 2022-10-12T21:15:04Z

Very nice foundation, though might need some refinement. For example, melee cooldown, movement speed etc.

But overall I really like it and giving you high scores. Well done!

LD52 — Harvest

The Last Outpost by Joror 2023-01-10T15:52:34Z

I also had ideas about the "Harvester" entity and dying world but I would never be able to make them into a real game. But you did it solo and the result is impressive!

I didn't manage to have a successful run yet, but I'm impressed by the quality of the game and how you thought everything out.

Very solid, much respect!

HARVEST 2300 by xk_the_name 2023-01-12T01:09:47Z

10/10 would evacuate.

I am very impressed with how you manage to merge such stiff driving mechanics with bullet hell and it doesn't feel irritating at all. I really commend the balance you struck. The machine feels heavy, but the opportunity to avoid monsters and projectiles is always there. And it feels particularly rewarding when you are managing to drive your vehicle through the mess without damage. But Agility buff is a must, of course.

Completed the game in my first run (well, second, but in the very first try I thought I can actually save the "save us" car and crashed three times into it, lol). I don't think the game is hard, for me it was the optimal difficulty. Challenging, rewarding but not punishing. Your ideas on game mechanics and their implementation are screaming of experience and talent, so I will eagerly await for your further projects.

Another thing deserving praise is visuals. Such refined pixel art doesn't feel like a product of gamejam at all. The atmosphere is there, the dialogues are rudiment but spooky enough to be remembered.

Anyway, the game really worked for me. Love each part of it individually and as a whole. Mad props!

Harveyster by Almax 2023-01-15T22:26:18Z

Wow, the game is tight!

I always struggle with the control scheme where the character does action in the direction of the mouse cursor, so I quite often ended up not where I thought I would end, lol.

But the controls themself are very responsive, I liked that a lot. Along the sound design, music and general gameplay loop. It's all very solid and engaging. The crows hitting each other is an amusing mechanic, too.

Though, the only criticism I would probably have is that the progression (=money farming) feels kinda slow. I was at my 12th season and still couldn't get at least 1 buff at max level. Of course, maybe I'm just bad at this, but well :D

Harveyster by Almax 2023-01-15T22:46:07Z

@almax oh, apparently I died on season 10 and read it wrong, lol. Sorry for confusing you.

Few times I got even $300+ but had to spent all of them on lives. So yeah... It's just me being not very good at the game.

Harkonnen Daily by asfdfdfd 2023-01-17T01:43:08Z

Not gonna lie, it's kinda grim, but what else would you expect from Harkonnen, hehe.

VFX and models are nice and concept works well, though I would love to see more context and the end goal to your actions. Thanks for you submission!

Goblin Sylvester the Mighty Harvester by Shess 2023-01-10T23:55:41Z

The game of contrasts. Funny title and in-game goal, cute goblin art, but the overall mood is so sad and melancholic. Music really adds to that mood, of course. The gameplay and pacing are also done very well. Top notch pixel-art.

You guys are incredible. Great job, All 5* from me.

Scream of the Crop by indegame 2023-01-10T22:24:54Z

Noooooo, the game crashed when I killed the Fruitbat :(

But really, guys??? HOW did you manage to make such a phenomenal job in just 72 hours? I am super impressed! The characters are funny, the art is very well done, gameplay is engaging, the music is cool... Oh my God, it even has a rogue-lite element.

When I bought a shotgun I honestly thought you misplaced a number in its stats, lol.

My only complaints are, well, the crash and that the text rarely fits the boxes in UI.

Avian Reaper by MaximBegunov 2023-01-27T19:39:04Z

This is an incredible work, though very disturbing one. The quality is top notch, and overall presentation speaks of talent and dedication. Mad props, guys. This is very impressive.

For some reason in the final screen the game told me that I harvested 0 souls, however I survived for 400+ years and harvested a lot. But whatever :)

Missiya by cybek 2023-01-17T12:34:05Z

An unexpected entry, but a welcome one! Nice mechanics, some tense moments. Can't really appreciate the code under the hood as I'm not a programmer myself, but you made me wonder... how we used to tolerate such sounds for prolonged periods of time when we played stuff like this on 486 and such, lol.

Great job, anyway!

Missiya by cybek 2023-01-17T21:36:05Z

@cybek yeah, the sound of turning on a very old PC is a powerful one. It gives you a sense of powering up a MACHINE. We even used such sound in our entry for LD49, hehe.

Just Another Farming Day! by Paulo Brunassi 2023-01-11T01:16:11Z

The face expression of a farm guy when thunder rolls is priceless.

I liked the fast-paced movement and overall sense of the game. Art style and Doom-like music fits really well.

I can come up with some critique as well, though. The ammo for different weapons feels really limited, the RPG feels underwhelming and I expected BFG of sorts as an ultimate weapon :)

Anyway, I completed this game and enjoyed my time in it. High star reviews from me!

PS: zombie worms are scary!

Shoo! by Lex 2023-01-11T00:21:51Z

The SFX made me laugh, I guess it's an achievement that in the game where you have to SHOO constantly the sound of it didn't irritate. Instead it was fun. But my favourite sound is bird's cackling.

And not only SFX, game works well as a whole. It is challenging and works with the theme. I also didn't encounter a single issue.

It still amazes me what experienced COMPO guys can do. Mad props Lex!

Hedgehog Tree by Alexascher 2023-01-12T00:53:10Z

I am impressed with how you managed to diversify such a simple concept and make it engaging. The overall cute feel and pastel aesthetics are extremely comfy. Mad props, guys. Very good.

A Necromancer's Guide To Happy Farming by TRUEchips 2023-01-10T17:30:50Z

Hi!

I liked your take on the theme and art aesthetics. Though not all jokes worked for me, but some of them were good. The curse of ludum dare deadline is legit!

For some reason all crops grown instantly and all I had to do is to run between the shop and the farm without doing anything else. I also didn't get the clock mechanic, but well... I'll definitely try another run.

Anyway, a solid entry!

Organigrow by Phillip Scott 2023-01-10T21:28:58Z

Well that's a bit disturbing take on the theme, heh.

Spent too much time plowing and just running around before figuring out what I had to do. Mechanically pretty solid, movement flows well, tools mode switch UI works well. Overall solid entry.

There Was A Day by T90. 2023-01-11T10:23:43Z

@boxedmeatrevolution @pazzi @dzejpi Thank you for your kind words and feedback.

It is our first attempt at creating a complete and rounded up story, of course, upon re-reading it for dozen times it is obvious where we could've improve the writing or storytelling, but gamejam is gamejam.

Regarding the AI art. We are openly stating that we have used AI image generation and not trying to fool anyone. Personally, we see stable diffusion as a tool in the hands of an artist, not the replacement of an artist himself.

And we have been working tirelessly every day for the last three months, spent more than a thousand hours to "git gud" with this tool. You can check our telegram channel with the results of our work to see what I'm talking about: https://t.me/s/alpha2049

So in our eyes it wouldn't be fair to opt out from the art category and discredit all the hard work and practice we did to achieve this level of quality.

Berry Good Harvest by StarboiHooch 2023-01-10T18:28:06Z

Thanks for the cutest entry to LD52. So heart-warming.

5 stars from me for each category, very nice!

Slime Crime by No whOne 2023-01-16T00:20:44Z

Wow, that's a very compelling game.

I was overwhelmed by skeletons on my first run, but figured out what cards are good and got pretty overpowered on my second run fairly quickly and had a lot of fun.

At some point I was expecting a boss or an enemy that I just wouldn't be able to kill by design. So the big red guy was expected. Good game design!

I really liked the sound, animations and responsiveness of controls. Game actually feels polished, it even has a tutorial section. Impressive, very nice!

CrapCirclz by Francois Dervaux 2023-01-11T00:49:34Z

To be honest, I didn't manage to pass the exam, but I had fun in the process!

Probably, the most original take on this jam's theme. Animations are very well done and the floaty movement feels very appropriate for an aliens like these.

I liked your game a lot, thanks!

LD54 — Limited Space

The High Seas by someone 2023-10-08T00:01:25Z

There's a lot of mechanics coming at you fast. Takes to understand them ) The ships could've been more distinguishable from each other at least by colors.

Nevertheless, a complex piece of work that actually...ehm... works!

LIGHTDANCER by xk_the_name 2023-10-03T21:34:43Z

Hi! It's a pleasure to follow you because you always deliver. Your entries to LD are always so polished and complete, this level of craftsmanship seems unreachable. Hats off. Great work.

Cyberframe EDEN by kiririn51 2023-10-18T00:19:32Z

Example of a great work by true masters of game jams :) thanks!

The Confines by DestroyerTech 2023-10-07T23:06:41Z

That was... unusual. I am absolutely fine with text-based games and it gave me some food for thoughts. That's cool. Though I couldn't parse if this is political commentary or not :)

SUSTAINING by AegisFate 2023-10-05T23:01:21Z

Very impressive achievement in terms of polish, fidelity and gameplay complexity. It really feels like a well made complete game. Hats off, you gave us an example to look for.

The Grave Shift by acarc 2023-10-07T23:40:05Z

The idea with your path being highlighted to show where you already were and simultaneously replenishes the light is brilliant. I'll give you 5 for innovation just for that. Also there's poetry! Really cool work.

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-08T14:03:49Z

I might be not too smart to play this game well, but it's very impressive!

Avoider by Planetary 2023-10-07T23:11:35Z

Gameplay is very tense. That's great!

Installing Engine by Kinami 2023-10-03T21:59:32Z

My friend, you really need to upgrade your hard drive. This is incredibly painful but very funny. And cute, haha :)

Bounced by Kyleah 2023-10-07T21:20:31Z

UE5 is killing my pc, but the visuals are nice, heh. You nailed the style!

Is there anything I can do with the twin of the character in the corner or is it just an Easter egg?)

Expedition 32 by onionlabs 2023-10-03T22:33:15Z

Ok, this is terrifying. I mean it is a very well done little game. The mood, music and setup work together and create strong impression and atmosphere.

Good job!

LD55 — Summoning

SUMMONING by xk_the_name 2024-04-16T18:39:53Z

LD is not LD without checking xkoster's entry!

I did three runs and for me the progression was very steep. Enemies becoming thick too fast and you have only one option to get +++damage each time. Otherwise you can't do anything to them at all.

Maybe I was very unlucky with power-ups though.

Still, great entry and jaw-dropping result for a solo COMPO dev. You are setting the bar for enthusiast game developers very high :)

Patty Panic by thomz12 2024-04-17T17:30:14Z

Wow, the fluidity of movement and overall process, smoothness of animations... this is very nice! Very pleasant experience, nice challenge and fun.

One of the coolest entries I've yet seen this LD!

Seance by alexrose 2024-04-19T17:48:20Z

Came here from xkoster's stream. Amazing work, massive game! Really quality product, it really deserves a steam release.

Wonder Woods by Sarah 2024-04-17T19:45:47Z

This is beyond cute and amazing. The style, animations, drawing absolutely fantastic!

The only thing I really missed is a proper tutorial stage because it takes time to know the map layout and understand UI/mechanics... and the Goddess is already pissed :D

So yeah, one of the best entries to LD55 I've seen so far. Huge props!

Isekai Hussle by Shess 2024-04-16T18:56:46Z

First

Very nice pixel art, great to look at, gamedesign and overall idea are unusual and interesting. The writing and jokes are amusing and very well fits the theme.

The only criticism I have is with pacing. The game is either overwhelming when you don't have time to read all the text and jokes, or it grinds to a halt when you wait for the next truck.

Anyway, very cute and interesting entry!

Bloody Builder by indegame 2024-04-21T17:22:52Z

One of the best games this jam. Music is low-key great, the core mechanic is fun and resulting creatures are silly and funny. From the art style I've got the feeling of fantasy hotline miami.

Honestly, this is really well done!

Witches Fishes by OlavDeng2 2024-04-17T21:52:41Z

It's the most unexpected entry giving the theme of the jam! Although, it's kinda clunky to pick up and drop items and items lack labels or tooltips. But it's kinda chill and cute, I like it!

The Unsummoning by Unx 2024-04-16T20:26:30Z

Ok, that's hardcore. I think I managed to get out of starting pit purely by accident. Tbh it's a bit too much. I would rather prefer having instant reset button instead of very short timer.

Artistically this looks really nice and I like the premise. Anyway, solid job, but man... it's really hard! :D

Zarguuf The Summoner by Juutis 2024-04-18T20:11:53Z

Cute game! Though on some levels enemies are a bit overwhelming. Bosses are fun though. The game feels polished with all the small details, sounds and animations.

Very solid entry, great job!

Necrogeddon by Wargon 2024-04-18T17:45:19Z

This is magnificent. Animations, color palette, idea, the mess on screen. It's all so good. Survive until your GPU burns from overload!

Shoot The Furniture! featuring S.K. Eleton by Skleembof 2024-04-17T18:26:09Z

That's neat. It's very cool that you managed to create that many assets and make them into the playable level. The sound level was fine for me and I also found amusing that you can shoot little pots with plants and they are just objects when big pots are enemies. Would be great to see more interactivity or fun with physics, but gamejam is gamejam, so it's understandable.

anyway, nice entry!

The Summonator by oramun 2024-04-22T20:02:57Z

I was very surprised by how good it is. The movement and shooting are done well and polished enough to feel good. Extremely solid entry, I am happy I found it!

And the humour in the description gave me chuckles, nice one :)

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-16T19:15:47Z

@merb1000 music was made with www.suno.com website, character portraits and backgrounds in space station are made with stand-alone local web-UI for stable diffusion using a few models from civit.ai. Though I need to say, we have already accumulated thousands of hours of experience working with AI image generation outside of game jams. So we know how to achieve desired result in a reasonable amount of time.

Anyway, thanks for the comment! As for the story, we had to cut it abruptly without proper ending 'cause gamejam time limits. Overall it's a challenge to make it intriguing, but short so it will not waste too much player's time on reading without action. I am happy you liked it!

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-17T19:23:34Z

@codbaade @pikario so regarding the invincibility "bug". We actually ran out of time and didn't manage to make death sequence, so when your HP drops to zero you will receive a message:

cheat.png

But it's easily skippable when you are fast clicking to shoot.

So yeah, we cheated a bit here, but it due to simply not enough time. Anyway, thanks for your feedback!

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-18T14:34:23Z

@k-toll thanks for the feedback! This jam game is literally our first attempt at creating a top-down shooter or any kind of game with movement system really.

So yeah, we made a lot of mistakes and making just the basic systems took a lot of time. That's why we didn't manage to make a death and restart sequence. We just ran out of time and had to at least make "an invincibility spell" as an excuse.

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-19T07:57:24Z

@labcatgames prejudice and bad faith served you well, sir

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-19T17:43:14Z

@labcatgames you came here to comment from a privileged position of an experienced game developer. To punch down a bunch of inexperienced people doing baby steps trying to make something from the scratch. Came with a specific intent to insult even before you tried out the game. This is not a critique, this is showing off and exercising in privilege.

And what is the most ironic of all, you yourself used GameMaker to make LD55 game and was hubristic enough to dismiss our work as "RPG Maker fan service game". When in fact we used Godot and wrote code for every single mechanic in game by ourselves.

Also, we explicitly listed the tools we used and for what purpose they were used. Never hiding or omitting anything. You don't have a moral high ground neither on this issue, nor on your attitude towards us and our game.

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-20T22:47:07Z

@breakfastgun enemies die half a second later after they took final hit. It wasn't intentional, just something we didn't have time to polish. The intended mechanic is just you shoot - enemies die :)

The Unlikely Messenger by T90. 2024-04-21T11:28:29Z

@quasilyte the sound issue is unfortunately Godot related. The only thing that helps is using external audio libraries for the browser: https://github.com/probrain-dev/godot_web_external_audio_motor

Thanks for playing!

Fiesta De Las Quimeras! by Jean-Francois 2024-04-18T19:23:01Z

Nice and stylish game! I was surprised that it actually harder than it seems at first glance. You really need to spread your attention to a lot of things, it kept the game engaging and challenging!

Art and sounds are cool, it also had no technical problems. So, yeah, nice game!

POLLY by Spica 2024-04-16T21:25:33Z

Yes, I liked the prototype :)

Very pretty, very cute, much like! Will follow you guys to see more. Great entry!

Summoning the bigger one by AlxJE 2024-04-16T20:04:34Z

That's surprisingly engaging. Though I found it too lucrative to cheese the game by climbing on the block, attaching it to the ceiling it propelling myself to the sky and to the exit.

Nice!

Spaceship Shooters by AntariaN 2024-04-18T19:03:19Z

haha, that's a nice take. Very solid work especially for a jam, but if you don't mind I'd like to give a bit of critique:

1. There's no win condition, only lose condition and it is kinda hard to lose. IMO the game will benefit from overall time limit or amount of strategems you have to execute to win round. The rounds could get harder and harder etc. 2. The icon of one strategem often obscures the point of other calls spawned behind it. 3. When the call is spawned on the border between two cells, the line is visible merged into the grid and can't be easily seen

Anyway, great entry!

Summoner's Recipe Book by TiePie 2024-04-17T18:00:55Z

As everyone already mentioned (and as undoubtedly you know yourself, hehe) the artstyle is crazy good. Creatures are abundant and well drawn, the animations are nice and everything in general looks really well.

However, your choice to make creatures with diminishing hitpoints is honestly frustrating beyond measure. The long summoning animation started to irritate because I constantly have to summon excess of creatures to feed the others. So this choice I didn't like, but otherwise the game is really cool.

No more summoning! by Anthonny 2024-04-20T22:14:02Z

That jumping animation is superb, absolutely fascinating. Idea is interesting too. Like!

DURO by Fenix131113 2024-04-17T18:53:54Z

Okay, that's cool and all. You do solve little puzzles, feel good about yourself and suddenly next level is a complete mess that you don't have a slightest idea how to solve :D

I mean, guys, the difficulty curve is a bit steep) but overall it's very cool from both visual, thematic and quality point of view.

Solid entry, cheers

Soul Pact by SesMiRe 2024-04-19T18:12:55Z

The idea is interesting and chosen artstyle works well! I think the game could win from having an outline around items you can interact with. Also the movement is too floaty.

Anyway, jam is jam, you just can't polish to a perfection such complex game in mere 72 hours. Nice entry!

Infernal Exorcism by Marju 2024-04-16T22:01:09Z

That's one stylish priest!

Concept is simple and clearly understood. I guess it could've use some indications of doing damage to demons and also salt drops instantly after pick up. Maybe you could add a tiny delay between pick up and drop of salt it would solve the issue?

Otherwise, clean and simple. Nice work. Also it's refreshing to see anti-demon game amidst other entries in this jam! :)

Angel Vox by Iwant_Pizza 2024-04-17T20:23:13Z

Чуваки, я надеюсь, что у вас там всё в порядке)

Ненавижу хорроры, но моё почтение, конечно.

Code Summonary by Mantodea 2024-04-17T17:19:49Z

I like that style of games and inventive use of coding theme.

Overall the concept is nice, however I encountered a few problems. First is I get 2-3-4-10 "powers" in a row but I have the currency only for one. I can't see what exact bonus I will get from the box, so what "drop" should I open? Just random.

And it was really odd to have actually 10 drops in a row when I didn't even have cash for one drop to open. And also the game bugged out right after this 10 drops. The fight didn't start because the "enemy" hadn't fully entered the screen so the "Attack" button was disabled, but the "Go" wasn't working too.

Anyway, cool idea, nice animations and stuff. Keep up the good work!

TAKE ME HOME by PlintusB 2024-04-16T20:51:34Z

Idea and visuals are really nice, game is pleasant to look at. Background music is nice, but the screams of animals are a bit too loud (especially given that they are very frequent).

Some of the animal mutants are hilarious.

Why 'gator goes to eggs though? I mean... at first I thought meat = carnivores, apple = herbivores, but egg ??? I mean, yeah, 'gators are born from eggs, but other categories are based on consumed food, not on the reproduction type. So I was confused here.

Also not being able to abort picking up the animal needs to be fixed. If you clicked to early or by mistake on LOAD - that's it, you can't discard the animal. Sad.

Anyway, nice entry! Good work!

How To Rob A Bank (as a Wizard) by petitcoke 2024-04-21T17:11:45Z

Yeah, the idea and the name is interesting, if you go through with it and try to make at least one functioning level I think it might a decent fun!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-08T21:31:32Z

Mandatory xk's entry check up.

That's grim! Didn't figure out what to do first time, I mean, that you need to actually drop dices onto the enemy. Also the hedgehog description doesn't state that it needs to remain on field to actually block damage.

But as always, fantastic!

Interstellar Cargo Maidens by kiririn51 2024-10-10T21:31:01Z

My business is to trade Uranium and business goes well!

I haven't noticed how I spent 30+ minutes clicking trade routes. Fascinating mechanics, great art style. Hats off, really shows who's the master here.

Many Tiny Creatures by zell 2024-10-25T18:29:48Z

Funny concept and I like how you thought about several ways to use the mechanics. Cool

Don't feed the frog by kremlebot 2024-10-10T20:14:01Z

Ha-ha, stupid frog. Won a few times, lost a few times. Nice set of mechanics and a good result. Thanks for the entry.

AUXILIARY by T90. 2024-10-09T07:54:24Z

@stalemeat @helloworldnoob @detectivelosos we didn't manage to do the proper explanation of the mechanics, probably should've added a simple instruction of what is what and what the goal is. We will try to polish the game and improve the user experience with patches.

But the main rules are these: 1. Resonance builds up when you have more than 33% of the inventory filled with glitches of one color. So you need to balance the colors. 2. When your Resonance is high or you enter the Entropic fog, your Entropy meter will rise and upon reaching 100% you will die. 3. The goal is to get to the exit from the level with full inventory of glitches. You will be able to sell them, expand inventory and cure entropy in the intermission.

Anyway, thanks for your response and feedback! We really appreciate it.

Slimeow Game by Quan Ran 2024-10-10T22:28:16Z

This escalated to WH40k levels of slaughter very quickly :D

Honestly, really cool game, though I wish there was at least some form of end state. Anyway, tremendous job. Cheers.

Billions must bite by Spica 2024-10-08T20:06:56Z

Was looking forward to your game after previous ludum.

Very adorable and I like how easy it is to understand what's required from player, really something I am struggling with in my projects.

Absolutely wonderful entry, thank you.

Tiny Rescue by LilieBagage 2024-10-23T20:35:54Z

Such a cute game. I love when people use their voices to create not only voiceovers but also sounds. The sound of failure was especially funny. Great job!

Candyween by Megurt 2024-10-08T22:23:29Z

I see kot, I give 5*

Very nice and cute. Game is simple but works well. Animations, style art are all very nice. I'll follow you guys. Very cool.

DRONE BRIGADE by Gaalsien 2024-10-09T21:57:32Z

Very impressive and also very hard, not gonna lie. With concept like this the only thing I wish would be better is more responsive controls. Anyway, extremely solid, good job!

LD57 — Depths

Captain Death by Sarah 2025-04-08T18:55:05Z

Oh, I didn't realise at first that you actually have to press on wheels to select the angle!

Very cool concept and the quality is amazing. Really just a minor gripe with tips and tutorial about controls. Wonderful in everything else, always a joy to review your LD games.

Doomscrolling by iovorobiev 2025-04-08T17:09:27Z

Very interesting and unique.

Though the fail conditions are too limiting. You end up losing too quickly each run and it results in extremely repetitive gameplay where you have only WTF options. Stress level balanced okay, but the battery is too low and depletes instantly.

imo, you could either make variety to starting kit of comments. Not just WTFs, or make initial battery larger.

Anyway, props for the idea, really cool!

BUMMÖCK by alec 2025-04-10T00:54:09Z

Wow, this is very cool. I like how you did isometric perspective and movement. This works very well.

Secret of The Deep Forest by deniskazantsev 2025-04-08T17:23:55Z

Amazing concept and implementation. Love it very much.

Though I didn't understood that you have to move all 4 characters to the end tiles before pressing escape and left with only one guy after level 1.

Game became a bit easy as I easily finished to lvl 11 with this one dude. I think if enemies actually blocked you and you couldn't just run over them, it would be much more challenging.

But as it is, truly great!

Dark Depths by buckmeister 2025-04-09T01:03:48Z

This is ultra-impressive! The best literal take on the theme I've seen yet. The game often crashes in browser though :(

Sonar animation is peak.

Also I got lost before the end. The log said to go to NE, but I reached the end of map and found nothing.

Anyway, huge win. Great stuff. Got some massive classic NOX vibes. Cheers.

Piton by Bea 2025-04-10T00:29:10Z

Very cool graphics, but the music is too loud imo.

The rope behaves oddly after checkpoint, like ragdolling or something like that. Anyway, very well done!

Lock Smith by Flying Butter Studio 2025-04-09T20:10:00Z

That turned grim pretty quickly. Unusual take, but well executed. Not counting that stupid locker knob that just refuses to be grabbed a lot of the times.

Nice work!

Helmet Man by Sevadusk 2025-04-09T19:38:56Z

Cool approach to introduce the game and flip it on it's head. Very unique, quiet liked it! The game itself is simple but fun and done well! Respect!

Hollow Depths by av_shustov 2025-04-09T01:26:02Z

Very cute and fun little game. Simple and well executed concept. Great job.

PS: Miyabi = like.

Loot Well by retonymy 2025-04-09T19:26:00Z

man this chest is funky. Though the outcome is mostly random 'cause any move results in chaos, lol. Managed to extract $250 just by positioning at the beginning and giving it a slight roll.

anyway, kinda cool. Enjoyed it, thanks for the submission!

Towards the Light by MikeMikeMakes 2025-04-10T00:23:32Z

Woah, that's not an easy game. Honestly impressive work. Though the browser version seems to crash often which didn't allow me to go further.

Still, very neat!

Deep Protocol by elykx 2025-04-09T18:48:59Z

looks cool and vibes are great, but tbh I couldn't get what I need to do. Basically, I couldn't do anything at all most of the time. Only click skip button. Cards not connecting anywhere... but I don't play card games at all, so maybe it's understandable.

RepliCore by Nick Halstead 2025-04-10T18:00:05Z

Wow, nice take on the platform genre by reversing the direction of progression. Also clever use of mechanics in later stages, I mean the puzzles designed really well.

Nice game!

Bellophobia by DeepShark 2025-04-08T15:02:52Z

Very strong vibes and atmosphere. Art is well done and the game is very well polished. Overall really cool.

Some critique for good measure: 1. Please put screenshot with the controls on this page too. It's hard to remember everything at once and you might end up needing to reload the game to see the controls again. 2. Why W/S is inverted? 3. It's not obvious that skeletons and other stuff is just background. At first I thought this is an obstacle and avoided it. 4. The claw is absolutely unnecessary clunky to use. 5. Hard to navigate because of background and foreground mixing.

the depths of space by OttoBroccoli 2025-04-08T16:51:30Z

Extremely cool concept and overall design! Really like it. A bit hard, though.

I can only complaint about controls, because I often press W/S by mistake and switch scope.

DepthBrain by GARYglhf 2025-04-09T18:53:25Z

Well that quiet an unexpected experience. Really caught me off guard a few times. Nice job! :)

The Depths Below the Tower by Kseon 2025-04-09T00:00:13Z

Impressed by the art and overall design. Unexpectedly failed a few times which added challenge. Nice!

Хорошая работа!

LD58 — Collector

Space derelict data collector by notime4games 2025-10-09T00:18:23Z

Huh, I actually liked it. It gives me major "The Swapper" vibes. Also usually I don't really like this kind of physics based movement, but you nailed it really well. It's fun to control the bot and inertia isn't too invasive.

Very nice! I would only complain about the sound being too rough on my ears, haha.

Love this kind of rocket physics types of games. Really well done. Unusual concept and very polished. Respect

Excavation Sierra by parkuhrmd 2025-10-07T21:07:23Z

Amazing concept and interesting implementation. My only complaint is the brush is so slow to dig, that you may think in the very beginning that you are doing something wrong. Also you can dig only marked spots and even the slightest miss makes LMB take no effect. This might be confusing.

But progression, style and polish are impressive. Kudos!

@melomaner yeah, we didn't manage to do proper onboarding/tutorial. And the reset after losing fix will be in our next patch. We plan on releasing it today.

Thanks for playing our game!

@bea Portraits of characters are drawn by @Deo-Art. All UI, animated character on map, map itself were done by @Yanato

We also used AI for location backgrounds in expeditions, so we had to remove our entry from "Art" category. Still, thank you for appreciating Deo and Yanato's work.

@wetburritosupreme yeah, thanks for your feedback. We thought about making exploration and sleep/upgrade process more interactive, but ofc game jam is game jam. Something was cut due to time constraints.

Ionfall by T90. 2025-10-16T21:49:36Z

@baturinsky fair point. We implemented a short period where you have time to repair the turbines until the game ends in game over, but designing a save system from scratch was just out of our scope for the game jam. We tried to do give a notice via UI, but alas.

DEEP FROST by Kalbshack 2025-10-09T01:27:05Z

Wow, easy 5*. Great idea, cool style, crisp animations, even the sounds are very ok! Kudos to how you implemented tutorial. Very nice!

ShipShape by CosmogonicFrog 2025-10-07T20:27:20Z

Wow, that's actually kinda complex and interesting. Graphics are simplistic but they do the job and I haven't met a single bug or problem. Really nice!

One possum's trash is another man's treasure by fkeyz 2025-10-07T19:55:05Z

It doesn't really work on web. When cursor moves outside web player window the game doesn't detect mouse movement. And the camera sensitivity is very low, almost impossible to navigate. I tried to move cursor from outside the window to get a better change to turn, but I ended up upside down.

It's such a delight to try a gamejam entry made by a dev that just knows how and what to do. Great idea, very fun progression, extremely well balanced, simplistic but effective animations.

I had a feeling that this is exemplary "This is how it's done, folks" type of game. I am impressed. First all 5* from me on this jam.

Meina's Train Cruise by Oradimi 2026-04-21T22:43:52Z

At first I was Awawawa.... but then I "Lyara, I'm here!"

Very cute and nice game was interesting challenge and concept. Cool!

Sarasota Signal by Eniggma 2026-04-21T22:27:57Z

That's an interesting, but hard game. I feel like the balancing is kinda unfair, the game punishes you if you attempt 3 cases at once. Your deck will be clogged immediately with useless cards and you will be just sitting duck until the case fails.

I feel like it would nice to have an option to discard the cards from the deck or limit what cards can be spawned for each case. 'cause when you have a case with 2 photo and 2 audio cards, but your entire hand is filled with reading cards it's kinda odd.

However, the concept itself is cool and I really appreciate it. It was fun to try and survive, hah.

What the hell, this is amazing puzzle game. Such a great basis for a proper mobile puzzle game. Just add sounds and music, do some polish here and there and you can ship it to app stores!

PS: though tutorial was kinda overwhelming.

From the Abyss by Megurt 2026-04-21T22:07:16Z

Simple but challenging. I respect how the effort to make it feel polished with all the sounds, menus, tutorial etc. Good job!

How is this so absurdly funny and educational in the same time? Amazing work and so complex too! Very very good!

Wow, that's impressive. You did one thing, but really nailed and polished it. Mad props, great entry.

Signature Zero by red-horde-games 2026-04-25T00:03:26Z

Impressive work. Really gives you a feeling that everything is slipping out of hands when you are managing complex system. I really with there were sounds for full experience!

Radio Beacon 34 by 3blackpixels 2026-04-24T12:32:54Z

Very well done. Great vibe and concept. Would've like to learn more about what's going on there etc. but it tells enough to get it.

Probably one complaint is that the pause between the alarm in the end and the incoming message is too long. I had to make a second playthrough because the incoming signal arrived only when I have already opened the door. So I haven't realized that there's a choice to be made.

Anyway, glowing 5* from me.
