@gamer-fates Try rating now, somehow the opt out of ratings option was checked. I did intend right click to shoot - seems I forgot to implement it though. It would also need map and inventory buttons to be fully playable with just the mouse.
Done, and thanks!
Nice concept. I like that things like the crew and cannons take up the same space as the trade goods. However, I didn't realise that the goal was to get to the right side of the map until I did it by accident and got a victory message! I also had to work out for myself that I could right click to instantly buy and sell so maybe some more instructions would go a long way. Overall I did have fun playing it! Nice work!
Great idea. The management of robbery and trade is interesting. It is difficult to control the ship. Starvation comes too fast.
kind and fun little game =).
I can see a lot of work here.
congrats, it's a very nice jam game!
I escaped the navy with 389 doubloons! Fun game. I liked the trading, and the inventory management / looting was really smooth and fit the theme well. I ended up finding the game pretty easy--enemies didn't really fight back effectively, so I was generally able to leave port with a bunch of food, sink some merchants, grab their loot, and repair without worrying too much about either starvation or hull.
Love the game a lot. You did really well with the space aspect - awarding me points for managing space well, and bonuses instead of points can reward risky playstyles. Overall, a very good game with several options. The art was very charming, and stopping by the towns was cool. One note - I did spawn INSIDE of a mountain at the start of a game, resulting in a softlock where I couldn't leave. Otherwise, had a great experience. Thank you, and I hope to see more from you!
Pirates! You can never go wrong with pirates! As you can see, I do love your interpretation of the theme
The execution could use some improvements: - Some feedback on damage taking/dealing would be great (even simple flashing would go a long way). - The ship seemed impossible to control with the mouse click. I think just sticking with WASD would be enough. - Days pass waaay too quickly and as such, the crew starves quite easily. - I think that it would be better if the game paused while you are trading in port. At the moment, you can be attacked at any time. And those merchants seem most eager to sink you . I died not once while trying to look through port inventory, and that didn't feel fun. But maybe it's just me.
Nice jamming
There's a lot of mechanics coming at you fast. Takes to understand them ) The ships could've been more distinguishable from each other at least by colors.
Nevertheless, a complex piece of work that actually...ehm... works!
I wasn't able to make much progress. I kept starving or getting sunk before I could do anything. I think starting in the player in a safer area first so they can get used to what's going on might be a good addition. Was I supposed to be robbing the other ships or are they all the navy?
Really well executed jam game! I like games with pirates and ships, it was pretty fun. In fact, I liked the graphics, the functionality and mechanics are impressive for such a small game. Definitely good job
Nice job getting the world built and all the ships and movement and stats in there in time! Really good! I would have liked a way to drop anchor and maybe a way to tell how far my ship could shoot, but on the whole I had fun sailing around looting stuff!
Great job getting all of this built in just 72 hours!! Its an impressive amount of work especially for only 1 person. The inventory system and ship battling is really well done. The trading and looting is also really cool. You followed the limited space theme pretty well. I do wish there was some feedback for when you take damage and maybe some sound effects. Also, a lot of the enemy ships ended up getting bunched up together on my play through. I'd recommend trying to have them attempt to stay away from each other so that this doesn't happen as much. This seems like the kind of game that could be super cool if you keep working on and improving it after the jam. A big pirate adventure made from this would be pretty fun.
This game really caught my attention. I liked it a lot, and the concept is fantastic
