Final time: 255.3

Love it!

I gasped at the charming intro scene, because that's when I already knew I was in for something good ^^ Gameplay was very enjoyable, from the art and audio to the clever way new mechanics are introduced during each level. Awesome work!

foxecho 2025-04-09 15:20

Fun to control, fun to play, nice one!

kauesilva 2025-04-10 00:39

Really nice game, I struggled in some levels, the controls are nice and easy to learn, good job ( Im horrible with the dash )

rachenite 2025-04-10 00:40

Wow this was really fun! Very difficult, cute vibes, good mechanics BummockTime.png

While a fun idea, the use of arrow keys over WASD confused me a little especially with A being used as a "restart level" button. The Controller could also use a good amount of polish, as only being able to dash in the direction of movement proved to be a frustrating mechanic. The visuals and audio were super charming though!

nicekot 2025-04-10 00:54

Wow, this is very cool. I like how you did isometric perspective and movement. This works very well.

jordantanner 2025-04-10 01:04

Great idea and love the graphics, music, and overall vibe. The nod to NES classics like Marble Madness and Skate or Die is super cool. I do wish the player could turn a bit faster and was more responsive in general. I think with a little more control polish, this one could be even more fun. Congrats on the great entry!

Cool TIC-80 game!! As commenter above, I was kinda stuck at the beginning for like solid three minutes, not understanding why game kept restarting. Apparently WASD and arrow keys were not interchangeable here, and A meant restart. Oh well.

buckmeister 2025-04-10 20:27

Always glad to see another tic-80 game! Nicely done!

hnkxobka 2025-04-10 21:13

User-friendly controls, good graphics. A good combination of idea and theme, strano that the game has few grades because it is a good game!

Nice game! Art and sound were top notch. The game was full of style. I wish the camera were a bit more stable, the constant acceleration and deceleration was a little much. You already mentioned a bit of jank and it's definitely there, but it didn't stop me from beating the game and enjoying it. Good work!

deadroach 2025-04-11 03:12

This game is incredible! The physics work flawlessly and the movement is seriously fun to try and get the hang of. I love the way it looks too, made me think of Kirby's Dream Course with how the perspective is played. The uncanny vibe the music brings is just the cherry on top. The entire aesthetic of this is intoxicating and I absolutely love this interpretation of the theme.

This was really fun and reminded me a little bit on the games I played on WINDOWS DOS as a little child :) Love the look and the movement was really good. Should there be music or sound? I played on Chrome and it was silent. Nice job overall!

logan-core 2025-04-11 20:50

Getting major Marble Madness nostalgia vibes from this one! Great work on the game! Screenshot_20250411_164844.jpg

Interesting graphics, looks good, with the buttons it really turned out strange, I controlled wasd and did not understand what was happening. Nice music, thanks

ace17 2025-04-12 11:36

> Should there be music or sound? I played on Chrome and it was silent.

@felix-kern Different browsers might have slightly different policies, especially when it comes to allowing javascript/wasm code to emit sound. Have you tried clicking inside the game window?

ace17 2025-04-12 11:44

What a cool and creative idea!

Loved the vibe, especially the music! The game is fun ( I made it to the end in 117.15s ) and the colorful graphics are nice.

The only thing that bothers me is the view. Isometric 2D is really cool, but when it comes to heights, it imposes restrictions which depend on the angle of the camera ; the culling at the bottom of the screen was a little misleading, there's no obvious way to tell the difference between the level boundaries and the end of the culling volume.

Other than that, good job! there's probably a lot of potential for extra gameplay here ( spikes, moving obstacles, etc. ) !

alec 2025-04-12 13:03

@jtap @t90 @fireye Making the restart button "S" was definitely a bad idea on my part! I totally forgot about how common WASD controls were, and that I had even implemented them lol.

thank you all for playing and rating!

verbante 2025-04-12 18:09

Got 44.25. Awesome idea (I also thought making something about the bottom part of the iceberg, BUMMÖCK as the educated say, but discarded the idea). Nice controls, visuals, gameplay and music. This is my highest-rated game so far I think. The only problem for me was that performance was very variable. I don't think it's because of myt environment because it's a fantasy console but idk what do you think. Also it's nice to see an isometric game in the jam. I feel they are very rare.

miku 2025-04-12 20:19

Oops, I accidentally played without doing the boost at all. I forgot the button entirely and managed to make it through with just sliding (last one was extra hard).

I love the graphics and presentation of this game. It genuinely does remind me of playing in an older system and the menus are wonderfully done.

binaryprinciple 2025-04-13 06:32

I want this on my steamdeck. The presentation (graphics, music, sound) is very well put it feels like playing a modern version of a NES / Arcade game. The controls are tight and the difficulty scales. I would love to see more obstacles and tiles with different effects (it break, spins you, give you boost).

blushingcrow 2025-04-15 09:41

I love it, graphics are keen and its giving me a real Marble Madness / Snack Rattle and Roll vibe - handles very smoothly, an amazing effort :)

holyblackcat 2025-04-16 08:58

Nice game! Gives me Snake Rattle 'n' Roll vibes, which I loved as a kid.

The physics is a bit jank, but that's probably to be expected. :P

A small bug I found is that while WASD works for movement, A collides with restart. This confused me for a moment until I realized I can use arrows too.

autotrophian 2025-04-20 00:35

this ruled, it was simple but so fun !

deadroach 2025-04-21 19:58

Here's a video of me figuring out there's a dash button after having played the game already for more time than I'd care to admit! For comparison it took me 331.2 to complete it with no dash. 56.3 is now my best time.
