LD51 — Every 10 seconds

WithDark by lekaleksay 2022-10-04T13:28:15Z

Good job on the entry! The sprites were very well done and the music felt very apropriate as well. There were quite a few feel things that were missing though. - Shooting while being still shot to the right instead of the direction you moved in last - The plants didn't respond to the water droplets hitting them

Those are small things I think would make the game feel so much better.

10 Seconds To Recycle by Wubbl 2022-10-04T04:59:32Z

Cool game, impressed by the global leaderboards! My Highscore is 2500 with the small exploit of just pressing all the buttons on each of the shapes which doesn't penalise you so it takes away the matching part of the game. So you probably shouldn't be able to do that. Overall very clean!

I removed the LD downloads, it didn't seem to be working and itch is much more consistent. Thanks guys

@jacobingalls Thank you so much! My friend was having trouble with the build as well, I'll put the instructions on the download page. In terms of performance issues I didn't run into them but I was running the game on PC with a GeForce 1080. There's definitely some inefficient object management at play. Thanks for playing!

Endless Duel by goldenXD 2022-10-04T04:22:02Z

Overall I think the game could very well do with some content, but you could say that for all game jam games, and especially compo. In general the game felt fairly dry in terms of gameplay after the first run as the subsequent runs felt way too slow early on and not very fun in terms of the INSTANT death if you go off the edge. Perhaps make it deal a bit of damage to be outside the ellipse but its really punishing and feels really bad to lose to walking off the small ellipse. The graphics suited each other fairly well however I do think the ground could use some work I actually quite liked the playre and enemy sprites they were very congruent with the aesthetic. Good entry!

The Red Hoard by NoahShomette 2022-10-04T06:27:15Z

Fun infinite runner! A very steep learning curve, very difficult at first but once you get used to the controls it feels like you get into the flow. Great job!

RogueDungeon: A Deck Builder by thedude3600 2022-10-04T03:23:39Z

The idea definitely has potential, I think separating movement and attacking cards would've added some more tactical decision making to the game. I love the intuitive feel of the game, a game like this basically needs no tutorial as the players figure out the controls and pace of the game themselves through experimentation. One quality of life feature that I would love to see is to not randomise the card order in your hand, that kind of ruins the ability to quickly select and digest the information in the 10 seconds and feels kind of bad for the player. Once again though the idea was stellar, albeit perhaps a bit ambitious!

Timebound by Ategon 2022-10-04T04:10:17Z

Incredible concept and execution, the game design is stellar. One caveat is that the level 6 should've been swapped with level 5, level 5 is literally impossible (for me at least), I could not wrap my head around it until I skipped to the next level at which point I think it might be possible but I'm definitely not smart enough for it lol. Overall very good cohesive art, great implementation and I absolutely adore the scene transitions. Well done!

10 planet of the Alos system by Fedir 2022-10-04T05:47:20Z

I almost won on my third run, got to 1 min but got overwhelmed :(, pretty fun. That being said there's a few critical improvements that would make the game alot better: - UI size was far too big, it's important to use scaling UI as it did cover 30% of the top of my screen. Another good solution is to make the UI see through so in case it is too big players can still get information on the enemies behind there. - Adding more responsive controls to the player, in a game which does not allow vertical and horizontal movement at the same time its important to use the MOST RECENT input for better feeling inputs, also saving buttons pressed so the override only has effect for the time pressed - Using more congruent colors, gray elements with red text is very visually unappealing, a good way to go about making good looking UI is to get a colour pallet online! - More feedback for being hit would improve game feel alot, for example flashing red or animations or sounds

Great job on the entry though! Single deving a full game jam game is really tough and you did really well!

Clocking Hell by broodjethomaat 2022-10-04T06:13:16Z

Fun platformer with a hint of a puzzle game. The camera controller could use a little work, it felt a little to fast as well as too left at times. Overall very fun game, although I was very confused on how the doors worked!

PATTERNM. by MakeMakeMake 2022-10-04T12:37:29Z

Amazing mood and look! A very simple game that does its niche very well. My best score is 8

Ten Seconds In The Dark by LogovoStudio 2022-10-04T05:28:43Z

Very interesting concept with darkness every 10 seconds. I do agree with another commentator that there should be more player agency during darkness and overall more things for player todo aside from just moving. Perhaps also make it not a complete death sentence to stand still, some more interesting decision rather then just moving in a direction would make the game alot better. However the mood was done very well, the sound effects were hella creepy and the music complemented it very well, while it was a bit repetitive. Great idea!

Make Haste, Detective! by frogwizardhat 2022-10-04T04:39:58Z

Actually a masterpiece, the voice acting is top notch, the art is superb. I encountered no bugs and the game is incredibly well designed with the clocks in the background as well as the music + audio clues on the time ticking by. The writing was amazing and the UI beautiful. Just superb overall!

In Season by Ha-kuro 2022-10-04T05:18:08Z

Very fun game! One small change is perhaps tell the players in a more visual way which vegetable is best in which season aside from the small sparkle, however maybe its better as a play and learn sort of thing. Very well done, very cute graphics!

Disarm it by GordienkoGames 2022-10-04T14:21:36Z

Good job on the entry! The scene was quite well put together however being caught on the furniture was a bit annoying.

Every 10 Seconds I Find New And Exciting Ways To Hate Myself by ActuallyTheMoon 2022-10-04T06:01:44Z

Man I just wanted to move boxes :(. The game looks great though.

WorldFlip by helluin 2022-10-04T06:37:48Z

Very interesting concept! One problem/feature is that you can spawn on top of an enemy when switching worlds which can feel very bad, I can understand seeing this as a part of the game to remember the positions of the enemies before swapping worlds but definitely feels bad as a low skill scrub :(. Great entry!

Animal Questions by CatProcrastinates 2022-10-04T13:41:41Z

You might want to randomise the order of the facts so that you can't just look for the visual change when the incorrect fact appears. Good job on the entry!
