Reef Gobbler by BoxedMeatRevolution 2021-10-07T07:14:08Z

I like the idea of creating an environmentally unstable game. It would be great to get a tutorial and such obviously, but we only have so much time in a jam and you guys did a lot with it! The sound design and animations were really nice. I think seeing some metrics might be cool for this type of game, great work!

RoboCompounds by kuggenhoffen 2021-10-11T18:10:08Z

Great entry! I liked the feel of the robot, and trying to balance the potions on your head.

Why Can't I Hold All These Items? by glenugie 2021-10-08T19:03:10Z

This was a really great game and a concept I never expected from this jam. As a proof of concept, this was great. A lot of others have already mentioned some great QoL changes that would help a lot, like clicking and dragging, as well as a grocery list you could cross off for items. The sales screen at the end was really nice as well as some small stuff, like being able to go under trees. I'm hesitant to say that there should have been a timer to add some more pressure to the game, cause that would change the pace from an inventory min-max style game to a frantic, grab as much as you can game. Great work overall!

Yarnball by niterich 2021-10-05T02:49:46Z

Capture.PNG I got a score of over 400! I really liked how unique the idea was, and you turned it into the perfect jam game

Spherry by Rewzu 2021-10-21T17:00:14Z

Cute game! I liked the dynamic you tried to go for, with balancing risk and reward. I think if there was a bit more depth it would be super fun if the game went deeper, adding more mechanics, but this was great for only 48 hours and solo. Good work!

The ApprenDice by ChuChuGeralt 2021-10-09T21:59:22Z

This was a great game! It was very confusing at first, but I managed to stumble my way through and figure out how everything works. I really liked the idea of balancing how many dice you get with the cauldron's stability, and figuring out what all of the powers did was really cool. I didn't really know what the turn all dice did, since it seemed to be a harder version to make of the basic reroll. Great game overall though!

Nuclear Faith by jvolonte 2021-10-09T23:56:48Z

I really liked the concept of the game! It reminds me of frostpunk, where you need to manage a lot of resources and a growing following. You already know that some of the concepts are hard to explain, and even more are hard to understand, like the slow following sliders, etc. Additionally, I think the UI is a little bit hard to read. Overall though, I see a lot of potential in this game. Especially if all the new reactors have different knobs and things to maintain!

Bobby McStevie's Unstable Adventure by MrKnd94 2021-10-20T22:38:07Z

I can echo what a lot of people here are saying about a quicker swap and having a visual timer. In terms of concept, I think this could be really cool if you quickened the pace of the game a lot. It would really add to the chaos and how hectic everything feels, jumping from one state to the next and not knowing what's going to happen. If you do go this way though, make sure it's still *clear*! Show the next swap or whatever will happen. Great work overall though!

The Unstable Graveyard by dk5000p 2021-10-08T18:28:03Z

Same as all else, unstable build :( the visuals, animations, and fog effect looks really nice though.

Unstable Prison by Barrier 2021-10-06T17:37:45Z

This game was super spooky! The sensory deprivation worked super well, and the ghosts/enemy scared me when I first saw it! The game is also super hard, I think maybe if the player controller/sensitivity was played around with, that would help the experience a lot. Great work!

Trauma by AdamCYounis 2021-10-05T03:46:09Z

Love the pixel art, as always, and the idea came together really well with what you worked with. Loved tuning in on the stream to watch it be made!

Dark Plunge by LBO 2021-10-17T23:28:45Z

The graphics and audio were really well produced for this game. I loved the weapon animations and the build up as you fall for a really long time was a really nice touch. I think that for this type of game, a double jump and a dash might be redundant -- it may be better to just have one and limit the player some more and have a more cohesive loop

The Nuclear Ball by 0X_VOID_X0 2021-10-08T18:25:22Z

Wow! That was really impressive for a first jam game! I really enjoyed the dynamic music kicking in after the first stage, and the subtle hums of the ball really fit well. The mechanics were interesting and you explored a lot of room with the dragging-ball-around game type. I think the levels were a good length, though the mechanics did barely start to feel a bit repetitive at the end -- maybe you could look at other games like super monkey ball for inspiration? Also, a subtle hum when you're using the magnet would be really nice too.

Overall though, great job!

Operation Meteor Shower by Seracrooce 2021-10-05T03:13:11Z

Really fun game, I found the butt asteroid! The perspective shift to the asteroid view was really disorienting. I would love to see the concepts be expanded upon, but a jam is only so long. great job!

Save the CORE by JKGames 2021-10-06T17:18:55Z

Nice game! I really liked the audio and visuals -- they really presented the game and made me interested in it. Especially considering a lot of people put them off, I think you did a great job adding in animations, music, and sound effects. In terms of gameplay, I was a little confused with my goal. I started accumulating the energy and bought some upgrades, but the ??? upgrade didn't unlock even after around 10 purchases of everything. I suspect you didn't get around to it, which is what happens in game jams. Great job overall, you got a lot done for such a short period of time!

PhysOS by Beep Boop 2021-10-05T23:40:28Z

Oh man the long finger is so cursed, but great game! I really liked dragging all the documents away. I think the chaos could have been better if mail requested files that aren't on the screen yet, but will show up later in the level. Great work overall though!

Decommissioned by T90. 2021-10-06T17:31:06Z

That was really neat! The atmosphere was super nice with the intro booting up the software, and figuring it out as you play around with the atoms and uncertainty sets in with chaos.

I think if the dialogue or atom system were to subtly hint at what to do for the main part of the gameplay, that could have added to the experience. Overall though, a solid entry, great work!

Rocking Glacier by SephoWepho 2021-10-05T03:36:51Z

Nice game! Hearing the AI music was pretty cool, although I was wondering if it was procedurally generated during the game for a hot second hahA. The polish was super nice on this game, more mechanics would be super cool too!

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-05T03:29:23Z

Thank you!

@adamjn I think the exam went well so even better haha

@niterich impressive! the highest score ive heard so far 1387 points in 7 milestones

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-05T23:41:40Z

@beep-boop thank you! I've heard about other weird bugs but they seem so random/hard to replicate.

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-07T01:06:10Z

Thank you @evokesoul and @nicekot! I tried adding the reactive tutorial to help teach players, but it's hard to teach so many rules quickly.

Glad to hear that @barrier! I did play around with some RNG manipulation to make the game more fair. I ended up going with a system that would keep track of the last ~12 rooms you got, and try to not repeat colors too often. it's possible to not get a certain color at all but would be fairly unlikely at the very least. Thanks for the feedback!

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-07T05:45:54Z

@timmith thank you for playing! I'm glad I decided to add the research gadgets because they definitely switch up the pace of the game. Speaking of long term strategies, I think the highest score so far was a 40 minute game, going to milestone 15 and 5162 points. i have no idea how lol

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-07T07:21:31Z

@boxedmeatrevolution Thanks for the feedback! I definitely tried to tackle RNG where I could, looking at the room generator. I had originally planned on doing the Tetris preview style pieces, but it felt weird fitting it into my UI without adding a lot of sprites. I'm planning on updating it after the jam to make it mobile friendly, so maybe i'll add it then! Glad you enjoyed it!

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-08T18:43:11Z

Thank you all for playing!

@dk5000p abilities are activated by right-clicking. I thought about adding rotations, but having that luxury might be too good :) maybe I'll add it to a gadget

@glenugie Thanks for the feedback, I played around with the amount of pieces you start with/gain on milestone complete, and found that it actually landed in a pretty nice spot. It also helps that the goals grow exponentially so you'll meet that "clutch" point eventually, independent of skill level

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-11T18:21:21Z

Thank you all!

Building Game Building by randomerz 2021-10-20T22:38:35Z

Thanks @mrknd94 ! I'm planning on making a mobile version. I just need to find the time for it haha

Pillars of Faith by bunnybones 2021-10-07T05:52:59Z

Nice game! I liked how you could place and rotate pieces, though that took me a little bit to figure out (cause I didn't read the description haha). I also noticed new shapes once you lose and play again which was cool. Great work on the physics, too!

Ouch! by Gabriel Chan 2021-10-11T18:20:47Z

Nice quick game! It's fairly easy to pick up and the art is really nice. I could totally see some buttons and contraptions being put in to add more mechanics if you wanted to continue the game, great job!

Unstable Island Farming by yumao 2021-10-08T18:40:54Z

Really nice game, I liked the concept of a farming game on the beat. I think that it may have been better if, rather than 4 actions on the line, you would get to press *any* action on the beat. That way, you can move, and then maybe press "1", "2", "3", or "4" to do stuff. After that, maybe you could add some different mechanics to make it more interesting, like different plants and upgrades!

Angry Ape by orangutanrider 2021-10-07T01:26:01Z

Great job with the game! the unresponsive jumps add a lot of challenge which im not used to in a basic platformer. the sounds and death screen were on point. I think if there were a jump meter, or some extra sprites for charging instead, that would be really nice. Love seeing the speedruns!

Unstable Gun Meets Zombies by Its_F4llen 2021-10-05T23:43:59Z

Nice quick game! I liked the various effects and the minimap was really neat

Crumble by EvokeSoul 2021-10-06T17:11:12Z

Great job finishing, you've done what most people can't say they have -- finished and put up a game! You did a lot of things well, like including music to smooth things out and making it easily replayable. The concept is also really intuitive and easy to learn for new players coming in. I'm sure you already have plenty of criticisms on how you can improve your game, so I'll save those, great job overall!

Rubble by Deviant Dots 2021-10-05T03:20:01Z

This is really well made for a first game! the squash stretch on the player when he shoots is really nice, and the idea of crushing floors to kill enemies is great. Even the tutorials are really helpful, great job overall!

Pub Tumble by GrevaNU 2021-10-05T02:35:57Z

Cool game! I had some trouble with the jump button for some reason? Otherwise the music was super nice and I loved the drunk effect
