Had to fullscreen and was still a little hard to read. Just moved sliders and clicked buttons till the reactor exploded. A bit more tutorial would be nice.

Cool art, Cool music, Cool sound of all the doodads.

But i had no idea what i was doing, but i enjoyed it :)

Great work!

Day 3: I still don't know what I'm doing.

Very cool theme, and it looks and sounds great. I just don't really understand how to play.

owlycode 2021-10-04 22:24

The arts are really nice! I'm happy to see a similar take on the theme than me.

One thing: I did not understand what the sacrifice does.

andreadbx 2021-10-04 22:28

The gameplay is very intresting and unique, for this reason a little more explanation would have been nice, not like spoiling everything but at least explaning for example the reactor metrics and stuff like that, the artstyle is amazing, it reminds me of another great ld entry of the past turned into commercial success: please don't touch anything!

Great job guys!

commentaccord 2021-10-04 22:28

The art is outstanding! To improve ease of use, some simple tooltips to explain the controls would go a long way!

sunderbird 2021-10-04 22:32

The art and interactivity is amazing. At first I did not understand anything at all :) The music is pleasant and does not distract

psv-games-studio 2021-10-04 22:33

The game is very good! I really liked the sounds and the graphic style. One suggestion would be to make a small tutorial on how to operate the reactor, at first I was a little confused and ended up blowing up the reactor several times

a-i 2021-10-04 22:39

The game looks really good, love the graphics and really like the nuclear theme, however I wasn't quite sure what I should be doing. Pushing levers and turning knobs was neat, but not sure how it correlated to gaining followers or why sometimes some of the levers would get red/disabled. This game could use a tutorial.

kyboon 2021-10-04 22:41

This game is so polished, even the itch.io page looks sleek. The audio is great, SFX is on point, the bgm is not intrusive. Graphics and art style is simply amazing. You can even burn your follower for extra power, 10/10 for humor (too). The only thing missing is the tutorial, it's a bit confusing what to do in the beginning. The tips between rounds are useful, but it'll be better if I know them beforehand. Great job!

colbymakesgames 2021-10-05 10:12

very confusing but im a sucker for nuclear games, great graphics and sound design, maybe try to make a more user friendly tutorial next time

3lstmsinatrenchcoat 2021-10-05 11:31

I have no idea what I'm doing (even once I realized that there were labels on the various levels and buttons; as others have said, the text is very unreadable). I think that might be the intended experience? But it does affect the ability to really get into it.

The narrative premise is very interesting, and I really liked the audio which seemed like a great mix of music, ambient non-music noises, and "I'm operating a dangerous machine" noises. The atmosphere overall is great.

raykon 2021-10-05 15:47

Not an easy game to pick up, but also very fun. Felt like the "clean" lever didn't do much. The art and sound are also great.

plotnikov-ilya 2021-10-05 15:48

Great artwork, and it seems to be very hard game, because I didn't quite figure out what do valves do, because for me they randomly increased power by multiple times.

scidev 2021-10-05 22:55

The artwork for this game is very well done, as well as the audio. It was a bit difficult to understand, should have introduced features more incrementally. (also, as mentioned before, the clean option seemed kinda useless, and the clean lever barely did anything). The topic fits the theme well of an unstable nuclear reactor. Great game, good luck in judging!

zain 2021-10-05 23:21

Took me a while to figure out what to do, but once I got it figured out I had fun with it. The graphics and audio are really polished and add a lot to the experience of the game. Solid work!

rufson 2021-10-06 01:38

I worked hard at this nuclear plant. I was quite warm at the end but seeing those people ahead gave me motivation to put some more HW and then :boom:

ollieoa 2021-10-06 12:08

Nice! This was a great implementation!. An awesome balance of things to do, and even though they were basically all just different versions of a click and drag, the feedback was nice, the art was pretty, and the thematic concept was well put together.

I only cleared 3 days, but I assume that each panel was the same? I would have liked to have seen a new mechanic on a new panel - different type of valve, or a different kind of meter. Apologies if this was indeed how it worked but I lost interest before getting there (not to say I didn't have fun!)

pixelydian 2021-10-06 16:45

Cool take on the theme! I really got into this one and won :). Good difficulty progression with managing more and more nuclear panels. I like the art style a lot and the title screen was pretty epic with that T crashing in with that sound effect. Great polished entry and I enjoyed it!

tastiham 2021-10-06 20:12

Loved it, very cool idea and extremely polished. I figured everything out rather quickly, but it could still need a bit more of an actual introduction. The manual alone is slightly too much without context in the beginning. That aside, one of the best entries I've played.

oune 2021-10-06 20:32

Great entry! Engaging gameplay and it feels very polished. Congrats!

maximbegunov 2021-10-07 14:28

I liked everything about this game: the graphics, the gameplay and the atmosphere. Would have played it even longer if it had more different panels. The style for the existing ones is amazing. I only wish that the panels wouldn't close permanently but instead just for the current day. It would keep up the challenge for the later days, instead I only had to manage two which isn't that hard and doesn't produce much power. Good job on the game.

sharks 2021-10-07 22:48

So here's a little bit of a quick note, I was able to beat each level in the first few seconds with a little fiddling by firing up all the reactors all the way, putting nitro on and priming the shutdown buttons. Boom. :joy: I think I may have broken it a little. If you meet the power generation amount before the end of the timer it would be nice if it automatically went on to the next level without the need to wait for the timer to run down. Otherwise I quite liked it, neat concept, great mood and atmosphere and it was SUPER polished and looked absolutely gorgeous!

teddyincdev 2021-10-07 23:41

Look at that polish my boy!

minibobbo 2021-10-08 21:13

Very nicely done! Great polish and worldbuilding. I really like the idea of balancing the need to create followers and sacrifice them for possible gains.

One thing that was never clear to me even after playing a number of times is what the relationship between the fuel and the power levels. I just always kept them pretty much equal and it seemed to be fine. Maybe some extra explanation around that would be helpful. Or maybe there isn't a need for two different levels?

juanrod707 2021-10-09 13:15

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, we've been discussing a lot about tutorials and such. The vision of the game was in part to give some context, in part to let the players explore and discover.

@minibobbo the fuel control provides less output, less temperature and creates grit in the pipes. the power control is more risky in terms of temperature and provides more output.

Another difference is that the power level moves much slower than the fuel level, when you move the slider, the actual value of the property slowly matches the one given by the input

randomerz 2021-10-09 23:56

I really liked the concept of the game! It reminds me of frostpunk, where you need to manage a lot of resources and a growing following. You already know that some of the concepts are hard to explain, and even more are hard to understand, like the slow following sliders, etc. Additionally, I think the UI is a little bit hard to read. Overall though, I see a lot of potential in this game. Especially if all the new reactors have different knobs and things to maintain!

Gameplay is a little complex at first but then you get the grip and becomes fun. Amazing graphics, nice sound and proper theme usage. Congrats.

defectivemelon 2021-10-12 00:47

This was neat. I think I'm a little too impatient to survive for very long, but it was fun. I think the look + feel of the game are perfect. Every button feels real and tactile, which I know can be tough to do.
