Really like the theme of it. Reminds me of playing Game Dev Tycoon back in the day. Overall it was a quality game and if you do fail that exam id say its worth it. Now, Im off to go continue playing for a bit. Thanks for the experience!

Excellent game! My record was 7 milestones and about 1000 points!
Thank you!
@adamjn I think the exam went well so even better haha
@niterich impressive! the highest score ive heard so far 1387 points in 7 milestones
This really fun! It's very well designed and the random abilities really added a lot. Well done! It was a bit unclear how to use the abilities controls wise in the beginnning, so I would add some sort of tutorial for that. Occationally my abilities would also not go on cooldown, which allowed for turns where I could destroy every empty room, but I'm not sure how to replicate it as it seemed to happen at random.
Cool game, i donk have much to say its a good idia and you deliver it!
@beep-boop thank you! I've heard about other weird bugs but they seem so random/hard to replicate.
Ah this game is so nice to look at visually and it was not a type of game ive played before!

Nice idea, like a gamedev themed tetris. I did 2 milestones but then no green rooms showed up so I couldn't even get one point in design. Just before I lost I got the change color to something random gadget but it was too late. Could have been more fun if the color distribution was better so that you could play longer?

Really cool and fun mix of ideas. It works well even though a bit unintuitive in the beginning.
Thank you @evokesoul and @nicekot! I tried adding the reactive tutorial to help teach players, but it's hard to teach so many rules quickly.
Glad to hear that @barrier! I did play around with some RNG manipulation to make the game more fair. I ended up going with a system that would keep track of the last ~12 rooms you got, and try to not repeat colors too often. it's possible to not get a certain color at all but would be fairly unlikely at the very least. Thanks for the feedback!

A surprisingly fun game, after a few turns I started to get the aim and figure longer term strategies that rely on the instability of certain elements, a great play on the theme. Although it wasn't obvious at all that you activate the abilities with right-mouse-button, I'm glad I figured it out because the abilities really adds a lot more versatility to the gameplay. Overall good job!
@timmith thank you for playing! I'm glad I decided to add the research gadgets because they definitely switch up the pace of the game. Speaking of long term strategies, I think the highest score so far was a 40 minute game, going to milestone 15 and 5162 points. i have no idea how lol
Groovy music :) The game feels very polished and the upgrade system really increases the replay value. It took me a couple of rounds to really understand how points are calculated (only orthogonally adjacent blocks provide +1 for meeting rooms or rooms of same colour). I think adding a "next piece" preview (a la Tetris) would give the player a little more control over the RNG and make it more fun. Regardless, I really liked the end product you've created!
@boxedmeatrevolution Thanks for the feedback! I definitely tried to tackle RNG where I could, looking at the room generator. I had originally planned on doing the Tetris preview style pieces, but it felt weird fitting it into my UI without adding a lot of sprites. I'm planning on updating it after the jam to make it mobile friendly, so maybe i'll add it then! Glad you enjoyed it!
love the idea and cute art! good job

I was having trouble figuring out how to use some of the abilities but I still had fun. Would have been nice if I could rotate pieces and if I could I didn't see the controls.

The game flow is so nice that I want to play it again and again. Also, I really like the neat graphics and the fantastic music. Thanks for making it!

Took me a little while to get the hang of the rules, as the tutorial introduced them quite slowly - but once I did I found a pretty compelling game with some interesting puzzle mechanics. I like the art style too, and the surprising amount of depth to juggle getting the right rooms together. And I don't know if it's coincidental but the pacing was pretty good too, because I was finishing most of my milestones just in time to avoid failure! Excellent job on this one!
Thank you all for playing!
@dk5000p abilities are activated by right-clicking. I thought about adding rotations, but having that luxury might be too good :) maybe I'll add it to a gadget
@glenugie Thanks for the feedback, I played around with the amount of pieces you start with/gain on milestone complete, and found that it actually landed in a pretty nice spot. It also helps that the goals grow exponentially so you'll meet that "clutch" point eventually, independent of skill level

Really fun game! A lot of depth and quite some replay value. Awesome job! I was a bit sad that I couldn't use my "production cycle" after my last piece to keep going.
Fantastic game!

Very cool! Played for a while and had alot of fun! music and graphics blended well together.
One feedback i would have given is that its sometimes hard to see the color of the blocks that you are placing in my opinion

Interesting concept. Could be good for a mobile game?
Thanks @mrknd94 ! I'm planning on making a mobile version. I just need to find the time for it haha
