First of all, the menu is super nicely done! Its not something I commend often in jams, but it got me hyped for the game. The game itself was pretty simple, but enjoyable. Shooting sound effects felt satisfying and the game felt very good to play. Eventually, my index finger started getting sore and I had to drop the game, I wish spiders player summons were a bit more effective to circumvent that. Overall, a nice game, well done!

you did a great job, i really liked to spend my time on this game!

owenmdvd 2024-04-17 12:39

Nice game but u can get bored quickly, maybe add a score system ?

zevsehg 2024-04-17 12:41

Attack doesn't have any cooldown. I can shoot as fast as i want, that makes a summoning useless...

congusbongus 2024-04-17 12:46

pretty smooth game, with a few more tweaks and polish it would be really awesome - like auto shoot and more levels (or just ramping up waves)! The summon theme is a bit underutilised as I feel your own spiders didn't do much, but I like the concept of summoners battling each other!

Hi all, thanks very much for checking out our little game and giving us valuable feedack. As a team we really enjoyed making this one and are thinking of picking this up as a full time project. Your feedback will help us make it even better. :) @sodoj - Your kind words are much appreciated. The main menu UI is so often a neglected part and I did not expect it to work so good myslf to be honest.

@derile - thanks for taking the time to play it :)

@owenmdvd - I agree. It needs to be more dynamic so that it can be played over and over with a different experience everytime. Was thinking of maybe a Roguelike approach.

@zevsehg - I think your right. Maybe need to spend some time making the summons more affective and the shooting less to change the way the summons impact the game.

@congusbongus - We did plan on having different enemies which would change as the waves went on and also a boss fight once the portals were destroyed all destroyed. However, as we all know, things have to go due to time contraints. Now we have time to work on it i think we will spend some time inplementing them and see what sticks.

Again thanks for all the kind workds and quality feedback.

the basic movement mechanics are done very nicely, but unfortunately I didn’t really understand the meaning of using the call

zablas 2024-04-18 23:03

Short and sweet. Maybe lacks an end screen?

poutine-studio 2024-04-18 23:04

I couldn't open the mac version :( Hope you can fix it somehow.

Hello!

Just beat it TWICE because it was fun and fast :)

I am not sure what is the danger of summoning spiders nor how much they help you, but hey! I had a blast :P

just-a-cat 2024-04-19 00:50

Same as above, can't open on mac-

Nicely done game. I especially liked the menu and the sound effects, they were very well done. It was also a good mix of 2d and 3d graphics used to create the environment for the game.

emaigualmc2-art 2024-04-19 05:51

Good job! I really liked the visual and sound effects. I think that by polishing the shooting and summoning mechanics more so that they have more relevance, the game feeling would be greatly improved. Have maybe different weapons, reload times, different types of summons, etc. Well done!

It's a nice punchy game with smooth movement. I was impressed by the power of the simple effect of the shadows/buildings, as it gives depth but doesn't get in the way. In terms of pacing, perhaps the final summoner could have gone berserk and turned into the final boss or something, because otherwise the game gets easier as you progress.

baubau 2024-04-19 15:48

Well done guys! The sound fx used were nice, everything fit together. One thing though. Not sure what's supposed to happen once you destroy all the portals

yanato 2024-04-19 20:51

Laser spellcast doing pew-pew-pew :)

bulba 2024-04-19 20:53

Nice sound design

coro-yy 2024-04-20 14:57

good experience. Wish there was at least one more type of enemy. But I enjoyed that short ride.

atan 2024-04-21 18:33

Graphics are cool, the game is prety polished, but i mised out some motivation to play more (some score or survival timer)

colinweiss 2024-04-22 05:15

Perhaps we need to try designing more types of monsters; This game is correct in terms of relevance to the topic.

nicekot 2024-04-22 20:02

I was very surprised by how good it is. The movement and shooting are done well and polished enough to feel good. Extremely solid entry, I am happy I found it!

And the humour in the description gave me chuckles, nice one :)

Pretty fun game; Wish that there was more strategy around the summoning element! It felt like summoning spiders didn't really amount to much, since I could always output a lot more damage than they could. But the gameplay loop of tracking down the summoning circles by following the trails of spiders was really neat, and ended up being a good bit of fun.

Small piece of advice; Look into turning off compression/filtering on the pixel art assets in unity, since that'll get rid of the weird blurriness around some of the sprites.

Overall, really nice work! You should be proud! ^^
