Really chill game! The space capitalism vibe is strong but the chill background music and simplified UI makes it easy to play and engage with!

t90 2024-10-08 00:38

RIDICULOUSLY addictive and fun! Did spend like an hour and a half. Nice sound, cool old-school interface.

If possible, could you hotfix number rounding? Of all minor UI bugs I encountered it probably most annoying. Screenshot_20241008_032502.png

Other minor bugs: sometimes clicks fall through interface and I switch from galaxy to system view (while trading) and sometimes right pilot tabs get stuck in "selected" ("pressed") mode.

@t90 As you probably noticed, I do all my dev/testing in native and export to JS at the end. JS has a... lacking understanding of integers, and this kinda stuff happens.

I patched those under porting rules, let me know if you spot anything else doing a javascript. Thanks!

Snipaste_2024-10-07_20-19-07.png Up until "today" in the game calendar, I’ve built the careers of four pilots by spamming resources on uranium — and it's been pretty lucrative, haha. It's been quite the journey getting this far, super fun to play!

Always glad to try new stuff by you guys. Sadly, I Didn't really connect with the gameplay this time- there wasn't any actual challenge or something interesting to do for the most part, and I felt all the shipping options didn't amount to anything and it wasn't worth going through or thinking about too much. The presentation however, is great as always. Loved the classic looking UI and sound design, and of course the old-school looking anime portraits are just beautiful. Nice experience overall(^:

Very well done and love the pixel art.

damn, this game looks amazing and the sound effects are music to my ear. However, it was quite hard to understand what to do in this game, I might just be a moron though. But damn, colour me impressed for two people, holy moly this game has alot of content!!!

mikeya 2024-10-09 16:22

the music is wonderful but the ui clicks are so loud, i wish i could turn them down a bit. i did not think there was a lot to do gameplay wise, as it's just queueing up orders and doing upgrades. however i did have fun for a bit, nicely done!

Well done, the game itself plays nicely and is addicting. Tho the start was a bit slow for me to get going, but I couldn't stop playing.

Very nice chill game, of course not really on the theme. I did enjoy the gameplay even if it was very easy, but these kinds of games are some of my favorites, so I did enjoy my time with this. Graphically it is simple, but it does work. This has potential to be a full fledged simple space capitalism game and I'd be happy to play a more complex and feature rich version. Capitalism HO!

This game was super fun and incredibly addicting hahahah, great job building this really fun management sim! I will say that the game could potentially use some balancing cause aluminum was just always the best answer until I got uranium and then taht was always the best answer, there was never really any need to branch out to anything else. Also, the elite pilot bonus going from 500 to 75000 speed is a little insane. I also don't really see how this game connects to the theme, but all in all it was a super fun experience!

wiredoverload 2024-10-09 17:08

Great game with a really great and well responsive UI. I did find that the early game was slow to ramp up, then once you get one of the good research rolls speed up again until everything slows back down in the end game after Uranium. After finding the uranium trade I made more money than I could actually spend and just used an autoclicker to buy critters as they're the one thing you can always buy. While I really liked the star map I wished there was a button to go to where a ship actually was as otherwise you'd just have to catch them in transit. Overall I really liked the portraits and kept playing until I had seen them all. Great job!

An awesome game! I love this one so much. Just clicking through the menu feels satisfying  amazing job!

I made lots of money Screenshot 2024-10-09 182738.png

Capitalism Ho! 🤣

aegisfate 2024-10-09 18:45

The gameplay of truck management is very interesting and reminds me of many games with similar systems (like Euro Truck Simulator 2? which I was addicted to for a long time). Commanding anime girl space truck drivers definitely connects with my otaku interests. The art style is really fantastic! I love this PC-98 style visual aesthetic. Definitely a great jam game. And Kiririn, I am a big fan of yours!!

mrmaico 2024-10-09 18:50

I wanna love it but I don't really understand what's going on. I'm at -1400$ and my only pilot makes 0 money on trades. What did I do wrong?

fireslash 2024-10-09 20:14

@mrmaico There's not great handling for when you go bankrupt, so that's basically the game over state.

You can't make trades that cost more than you current funds, so if you spend all your cash that's it! Make sure you leave some spare cash to make new trades before buying upgrades or items.

sketchbookbug 2024-10-09 20:15

Feeling like in a classic Sci-Fi anime! Getting the licenses was a bit hard, but overall a fun game. It would be really cool if you could automate the shipping assignments from early on in the game. Overall a pretty complex game you could spend hours with 👍

alchemic 2024-10-09 21:58

Very fun! Love the vibes, cute girls. Got a little repetitive, I wish there was a bit more strategy. I quickly lost my ships on the map, there should be some way to have the map follow a specific ship. The menu sfx were a bit too loud.

Overall spent longer playing this than I expected, very good experience.

magopian 2024-10-10 15:22

Not my kind of game, but still, i really liked the feel, the sounds, the graphics, the overall polish (with overlapping menus and stuff). Looks like a very "deep" game, impressed that you managed to do that during the jam, congratulations!

bstabuu 2024-10-10 20:39

I think the game would fit the theme better if you had visualized a constant flow of tiny cargo ships moving between planets. Art and music are incredible.

nicekot 2024-10-10 21:31

My business is to trade Uranium and business goes well!

I haven't noticed how I spent 30+ minutes clicking trade routes. Fascinating mechanics, great art style. Hats off, really shows who's the master here.

steffo 2024-10-15 03:36

Hi from the fediverse, @fireslash!

Never thought intergalactic aluminum and uranium trade would be so much profitable! :money_mouth:

Endgame screenshot

Look, it's today in the game!

User interface

The user interface was pretty good and satisfying to click through, which is the main thing to get right in this kind of game!

It pausing the game when the trade select menu was open got more in the way than helped, though, as the main bottleneck was how fast I could click through trades...

Unique pilots

How many pilot images are there?

I seem to have rolled the same ones multiple times...

I think it would've been cool if pilot images were associated to an unique name and ability, instead of being random... My first two pilots had the same surname and I had initially assumed it was intentional, and started thinking of some headcanon like them being related in some way...

I spy references to Evangelion and *a certain other game* in the other players' screenshots :eyes:

Critters

Well, here are your *tiny creatures* for the theme, I assume! Hehe.

Music

The music was chill and fit very well with the vibe of the game :relaxed:

Overall

Very well done as always!

Loving the spaced out ui!! What did you build this in??
