LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tiny Turf Tussle by Alchemic 2024-10-10T14:19:04Z

Awesome game, really enjoyed beating it. Had 7 mana per turn, 9 start mana and hut + buffer cost at 1 + the cage, so it became quite easy, but I still enjoyed it. There's not a lot to critique, maybe some way of manual targeting would have been a good add, as I could see points where if I did not have the cage, I could not have broken through the enemy defenses; my little guys ran straight to a fortification that was being healed and with many tesla towers behind. Won't write a super long praising post, I'll just say that I would buy an expanded full version of this.

Interstellar Cargo Maidens by kiririn51 2024-10-09T17:01:27Z

Very nice chill game, of course not really on the theme. I did enjoy the gameplay even if it was very easy, but these kinds of games are some of my favorites, so I did enjoy my time with this. Graphically it is simple, but it does work. This has potential to be a full fledged simple space capitalism game and I'd be happy to play a more complex and feature rich version. Capitalism HO!

Tiny Creature Dodger by pres2300 2024-10-10T09:16:47Z

A good solid game, got a score of 141. Found a nice little strategy of running between corners in the bottom side without stopping and went with that. It was a nice touch to show life loss with the sprite. Could have used maybe something like obstacles to break the monotony, or even spawning the creatures from all sides. If you are going to develop this further, a temporary "bullet time" might be a nice addition, as the game got very hectic towards the end and there was really no reacting or dodging, just hoping I don't get hit. But nonetheless it is a solid, fun entry, well done.

Dollhouse Blaze by ugly_robot 2024-10-09T14:48:25Z

Nice work. Graphics are clear and distinguishable and mechanically the game plays pretty good. Didn't really need the towels, axes or extinguisher, just speedran all the dolls. The game did take a massive performance hit on a hard level when running upstairs after a while, and I am blaming that performance issue on why the last guy burned alive... Had nothing to do with me jumping out of windows for fun. All in all, well done.

Hemogoblins! by MeedasGuy 2024-10-09T16:14:21Z

Fun game, got to wave 51. Hemogoblin is absolutely the best thing in the game, love him. I didn't really use the health buffs, probably could have gotten further with them and more the healer units. Audiovisually it is simple, but it kinda works, only thing is the background and UI elements don't fit with the characters that well. But the gameplay makes up for this by being a blast. Two staples of TD genre I wish it had are a range indicator and the ability to change targeting, even if it is just first or last. Overall it was great fun.

Become A Hundred Thousandaire Or Have Fun Trying by AdamG 2024-10-11T18:20:41Z

Simple but effective. Sometimes these kinds of incremental games are fun to play, but they tend to start stretching the gameplay too much. This did not overstay its welcome and I did get the crown and I did enjoy my time. I had a minor power trip with the last couple net upgrades as the area was so big and it felt good to capture massive quantities of butterflies at once when vacuuming. Audio and graphics were clean and worked well for the game. Overall a nice job.

Shnorps: Invasion of Blorps by P3ngui 2024-10-09T15:19:13Z

Fun game, I really enjoyed burning the little blorps (even though burning might not have been very effective). Audiovisually very cute, just the way I like it. Mechanically it was fun, but it was hard to find out what was a good tower stack and what wasn't before it was built. Not really sure how good the burning and infect were, but the freeze was, I think, a bit too short especially with such low chances. I did enjoy playing this and survived multiple waves multiple times, but it seems that it gets very hard very fast or I am just missing a overpowered combo somewhere. Might need to give it another go. Well done!

Fly does not sit by zbrogdom 2024-10-11T18:02:02Z

A solid game even if it can be cheesed very easily, like mentioned in some of the previous comments. The idea is good and I can see it being a challenging game, but at the moment it is choise between cheese or lose quite quickly. Graphically it is simple and nice, the score text could have maybe used a darker background. After a while it's hard to read with webs everywhere, but on the other hand there really isn't a need to actually read the score while playing is there. The webs being sticky was a nice mechanic, didn't actually realize that I could escape until I read some of the comments. I do feel like it is missing something to make it really fun, maybe a mechanic of some sort or changing levels after a while with ramping difficulty. It is a solid working game though so good job on that!

Child Of Entropy (accidental second upload) by Geekazodium 2024-10-09T15:57:50Z

Overall good game, the idea was very innovative. I liked the blueprint system, I couldn't make very good ones myself but the default ones worked well enough so I didn't have to necessarily make any glider guns or the like. There were some graphical things that I noted, the corner routes did not line up correctly and on some levels (1st and partly 4th) it was a bit hard to separate the cells from the background as everything was a bit blueish and at least for me I think the main attraction is to watch the game of life and not the projectiles or the lizards. All in all a good game, I beat three levels, and would probably buy a complete version of the game if it was made, as it has the pontential to be a nice puzzley Sunday afternoon game.
