This game reminded me of Neighbours from Hell. Too bad I don't get to play.

@naks you're unable to play? Are you seeing some kind of issue?
Your itch link is not working :(
sadly your link doesn't work. the game seems interesting.
I got a 404 not found for the itch.io web version too. :(
@naks @brotherbrody @tavox @v1ru6 Arg! Thanks for the heads up! Forgot to hit 'publish' - gets me every time. Should work now!
The physic engine is cool, I see great potential for that game. I'm not sure but have you implemented sound in the game ? It didn't work for me. in all cases it's Nice game !
It worked thx!
Yeah, Your Game works now and it's really interesting. Im a good puppet and I saved some of my friends. I Like the movement and the controls. and your crouch system is very cool, especially combined with the smoke simulation. Very cool concept.
@ugly-robot Nice! just played it and it's very fun! Cool execution of the idea, I can see this being developed into a fun, hectic game!
Cool game, concept is very fun! Gameplay is engaging and the tiny house is cute. I think the UI style clashes a bit with the house style and the text a bit hard to read. Some sfx would be nice. Overall a solid entry!
@lussard-studio Yep - no sound - ran out of time. Thanks for playing!
@v1ru6 Whew! Thank you for coming back to it!
@tavox Thank you! Yeah - writing the backend sim stuff ate a huge chunk of time (in retrospect, way too much lol) - but it was fun code to write! Graph theory and whatnot. Thanks for playing!
@brotherbrody thank you for playing! Yeah, probs not a good candidate for me to try making in a weekend lol - defs needs more work to become a fun game, but I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it!
@thomas-bringer thank you! Yeah, wish I had more time (and skill) for visuals - but atleast making the little wallpapers was fun. Thanks!
Good work! I like how fast paced it is.
Wow, going through the tutorial alone I kept saying: "oh wow that's an impressive amount of interactions. OH there's *more*?!" Very ambitious, especially for a compo, and you pulled it off. Very well done!
Really played on my stress levels with the time pressure gameplay lol.
Good job with physics and interaction systems!!
Nice work. Graphics are clear and distinguishable and mechanically the game plays pretty good. Didn't really need the towels, axes or extinguisher, just speedran all the dolls. The game did take a massive performance hit on a hard level when running upstairs after a while, and I am blaming that performance issue on why the last guy burned alive... Had nothing to do with me jumping out of windows for fun. All in all, well done.
@mhorth haha thanks! Yeah - and you can imagine I didn't even implement half of what I had planned, lol. 'We coded it not because it was easy, but because we thought it would be easy'. Glad you found it interesting!
@david-soriano thanks you for playing!
@sorro Yeah, haha, ultimately just running is a totally viable strategy. I thought about slowing down the character, limiting sprint time, speeding up smoke propagation, etc - but ultimately, I liked that (most) levels are still finishable if you plan your route and run fast. Both strategies are viable - though, of course, with more time, I'm sure we'd all balance our difficulty a little differently. And yeah, the real sin of this jam for me was not optimizing - there were countless times I said 'oops, this check is exponential, and runs every frame' - but there was no time to circle back. Zooming in helps - (though, of course, it also makes it harder!) - but thank you much for playing!!
This was a really impressive entry! Albeit there were some issues, only so much can be done by one person in a weekend  The throwing out the window controls were a little awkward which made it hard to do. I think this game has potential and could spawn the fire-sim genre :fire: keep on making games!
It's a tough life as a mannequin trying to save a building full of others. Throwing them out the window was the safest and quickest option that I found :P!
@frozenfire92 and @miku Thank you! Yeah, there were still a handful of bugs/unimplemented with windows - there was originally fall damage and cutting yourself on dropped shards - making it a tricky choice to tell if your injured friend would be able to survive the fall and crawl to safety! But, like many things, it had to be cut on sunday afternoon. Bit off more than I could chew! But glad both of you discovered the power of yeeting injured people off of buildings and had some fun with the jank. Thanks for playing!
Lookes like it is easier just to throw everyone out windows and not use axes or fire extinguishers.
Interesting premise and wow, there is quite a lot going on in terms of controls and interaction. Would love to see where this goes with a few iterations to make interactions feel more 'snappy'.
@sdcorpse yup! Totally viable
@crcdng thanks haha - yeah, I think this is the last time I do this much animation for a game, really limits how you can tweak movement and eats into time I would've rather spent adding mechanics or touching things up :p
There are a lot of objects and mechanics which is impressive for a game jam, but it definitely felt like smashing through all the doors and tossing my friends out the window was the way to go. Very silly game that I played longer than expected. Nice work.
>You: Help me, firefighter! I'm trapped on the fifth story of this building and it's getting difficult to breathe! > >Firefighter: \*defenestrates you\*
There's a lot going on here for something made in such a short time frame! While the randomly generated levels are cool from a technical perspective, I'm not sure how much the gameplay benefits from them. About 50% of the time both the fire and a fire extinguisher spawn close enough to let me end the round within a couple of seconds.
I also didn't really end up needing many of the more advanced mechanics like smoke management or floor tunneling. Maybe if you couldn't grab people but instead had to forge a path for them to escape on their own? I tried playing with a self-imposed "no grabbing people" rule, but they don't seem to be smart enough most of the time (most just stand there and die, and one walked _into_ the fire).
I really like the physics in your game ! But the text was really difficult to read. But I really enjoyed !
Had fun with the game and then I saw the "tip" about right-clicking thus had some more fun, HA HA :fire: :fire: :fire: Amazing compo submission!
I feel like there are too many different buttons, so it is kinda hard to control. But well done with the destructible environment!
Wow, this has a lot going on! All the physics, platforming, grabbing stuff and using them. I really loved throwing the people through windows from the top of the building to their safety. Maybe I should become a firefighter :) This would work as a game with humans and faulty electronics or whatever but you came up with a really nice way to include the theme as well. Only bad things about this game is that the tutorial is a bit confusing because you don't know what the goal is before the fire starts and that the levels are pretty trivial after you come up with this strat: smash your way through to the closest window, defenestrate. Anyway, really well made and enjoyable entry!
wow nice idea! the animations feel smooth, lot of gameplay features impressive! good job!
oh wow this was awesome, played a couple easy levels then just bolted to hard and got overwhelmed immediately lol, good game.
I'm having the same issue as others with not being able to play? I would love to play it though it looks really unique!
Wow! Ambitious for sure, but even what you have is impressive—so many mechanics! It also feels like a fairly original idea. The games I can think of that are similar are either "heist" games or for-real simulators, but this is much higher stakes than a heist, and more "arcade"y than a full simulation. I think if you wanted, you could lean into the "arcade" feel and add more platformer-like motion. Or make it closer to a heist and have a preparation phase. Or make it closer to a sandbox and add a level editor.
