I'm not really sure how to play this game... can you add more information, and a link to the finished product?

Hey guys :) you should not publish your games until you have provided a playable link. Right now this game is at the top of the list, because no one can rate it.
Sadly there is no link to play the game :(
You could publish your game on itch.io and provide a link in the comments!
no game unfortunately :(
Looking forward to play this one, because the theme's interpretation sounds great
no game sad :(
Great concept, really like the aesthetic and music. However, hard to play as the camera refuses to pan over the right half of the field, forcing me to guess where I am. Not sure if that is intended or not
Good idea, I really liked the graphism
Thank you for your feedback. The camera is centered between the 2 aliens. You need to move both of them to see were you going.
Overall it looks like pretty solid and fun idea - problem is that it is kinda hard to control these aliens, also the game once froze in menu and i couldn't do anything. On top of that camera mad it very hard for me to see what am i doing and it made it more difficult to play.
Took some time to understand that there are actually two of them to control. Really cool idea. I like the game even though I can't succeed in the game
I personally not quite sure it fits the theme, but I really like that idea! It's a neat twist to turn the crop circles into an exam for aliens, good job!
Pretty difficult, but I think as a multiplayer game it could be a lot of fun or a bit easier! Very unique idea, very cool. The whole mood is perfect though and the menu system is so well done too.
Oh dang the graphics are fantastic. I love the spooky scratchy feel to it all! Even outside the main play area, the trees and fence and stuff looks great. Nice details! I also love the goofy name for all the menu options! I think the gameplay could use some polish though. the aliens are way too.. slippery? It's hard to make a good circle in the field... I kept slipping and making it too obtuse. Which is weird, since the aliens have tentacles. you'd think slipping wouldn't be an issue, ha! All around, nice work!
Thank you for your feedback @100th-coin ! We wanted to make them walk this way because it would be more funny to create the perfect circle! And it could be funny to see how it goes for the multiplayer as well! That's also why we decided to name the game "Crap" Circlz and not "Crop" ^^
looks great! sadly a bit jerky on my laptop so couldnt properly try it out.
Fun puzzle game with a great style. It feels almost impossible to get close enough for a good score though and I wish there was some sort of mechanic for editing. There comes a time when the only option is to restart, which isn't fun. Maybe if the desired shape was an overly, so mistakes where more visually signposted. I also wish there was a reason to actively control them both a the same time, perhaps you could change up how they are linked within each stage? One stage they mirror each other, one stage they copy each other - a little like the dungeon statues in Link to the Past. At the moment there's no real point in actually moving them both, but it's a great idea if you can get it right!
Hi @hfsevans thanks for your feedbacks ! Actually you need to be 2 local player to play this game, you are not supposed to control them both as one person ^^ We are actually working on adding "one player" selection
Wow, really impressive, I love everything ! the design, local coop, the gameplay, the animation of aliens ... I don't how you do for that calculation of score but is seems to be accurate !
I have encounter an issue in the menu, I click and I lost the control with keyboard on the menu and my mouse is still invisible. ! (I played 1.1, fixed in 1.2 i beleave on itch.io)
However, félicitation a toute l'équipe 😉, je suis toujours nulle en dessin on dirait 😂 2023-01-10 21_21_28-CrapCirclZ.png
@nougato Your CropCircle look great! Maybe you will pass your exam next time !
I like the mood of the game. The sounds are very smooth, it's almost impossible for me to play the two different alien with each stick so I put one at the center in high position and I use the other one to draw... Anyway it's a quite difficult game, I always have very low game despit the strength of my draw ^^
Not bad, not bad. Camera felt pretty wonky and I bet this game would feel a lot better in two player. Overall aesthetically solid.
And the mystery of how crop circles are formed is solved! Great graphics. Interesting mechanic. Love your creativity!
Sadly I was alone to play this, I found it quite hard to properly switch between the 2 players to see the pattern and what Im doing. Other than that the game feels really polished, the graphics and the music are nice, great job :)
To be honest, I didn't manage to pass the exam, but I had fun in the process!
Probably, the most original take on this jam's theme. Animations are very well done and the floaty movement feels very appropriate for an aliens like these.
I liked your game a lot, thanks!
I keep failing the exam, feels like they game me the crappy controller with all the buttonz. Maybe setup difficulty levels by increasing the view size a bit, or angle, or the responsiveness to input.
Impressive art, music and composition for the time frame. Love the overall mood.
Really interesting game turned out. I especially liked the idea and the style of the game.
I really like visual stylization of this game! Also gameplay is interesting.
Good game! But it's hard to finish game by only one player!
Interesting concept - really liked the look of the game, I did not like the camera angle.
Game also crashed (killed the itch.io window) any time I used the ctrl function.
Such a brilliant concept, awesome job guys! Particularly enjoyed the news headlines in the end screen.
I struggled to get a good score on my own, maybe I can persuade my partner to play it with me 👽👽
Impressive looking game, nice take on the theme. I really really like the DA, the gameplay is simple yet efficient. Only thing is I encountered a display bug in the end level menu.
@ThunderChief thanks for the reply, we work on this bug, I'm trying to solve the problem while you're playing ;)
Interesting! like the ambience in the game, the audio, and game play.
Wow! I really enjoyed playing this! I've never seen anything like it before. It's a little difficult to walk as a player, but this does not prevent you from enjoying the game!!!!
I love Kang and Kodos simulator
I never appreciated the hard work and level of craftsmanship that goes into making crop circles before, especially when you're a drunk alien octopus fella.
I really loved this game, the style is so on point, really brilliant idea, execution. Unfortunately I could only select the first level :( When I first tried the web version level select worked but then never again, and I downloaded the full version and it was still busted.
Nevertheless, I give it 5 stars! You guys rock.
@bobbo thanks a lot for the rating, the button at the end didn't work, becaus we not have time to cable it ( crap fix it, just remove it, pass by the main menu to change the level )
Unbelievable! The atmosphere is so successful, the concept is fun and original. I think it's my favorite of the jam for the moment. And special mention for the graphic rendering that I found at the top.
@Tayteus Thank you for this review, I work in a small studio in the north of France and I work a lot on shaders. My challenge for this Jam was above all to make an Art Direction based largely on shaders, (notably a hatching shader, and instantiating gpu for the wheat fields) I also worked on the procedural animation of the enemies , and I also use shaders to deform the mesh in real time for the tentacles (at the beginning of the jam, we had thought about a grab mechanic where the aliens stretched out their tentacles to grab gameplay elements (scarecrow, second player , etc ..), but unfortunately we did not have time to realize it) Your review, at least gives me the feeling of having achieved this goal. thank you
Wow the mood is really cool. From the very first UI screen of the game it hooks you in the world of the game. Superb shaders and animations. Please let me know if you have made any devlogs ! Gameplay wise it's neat, probably a bit slow for my liking. I would probably have prefered smaller fields. The way you allowed for one or two players is very smart.
It seems like all your updates have been made during the jam ? It's a bit confusing for me atm, I would make it a bit more clear so people know what they are actually rating.
Love to see a multiplayer game, but some labeling about how the keyboard works with the two aliens would be great.
Loved the artstile and in particular the Shader! It was a little hard to control both aliens and sometimes it felt like there was some daly in getting the inputs. The idea and the concept was quite interesting though! Good Job!
I couldn' get more than 00% :') Lovely style, and very interesting idea. Great job on visuals and sounds!
This is an all around amazing game with a very creative take on the theme, that shader that goes over the whole page as well as the UI design is amazing and builds quite the mood, while still leaving room to be funny.
Outstanding work this year and good luck in judging! (you won't need luck though this game is amazing!)
Very cool game, ncie work!
Really fun to play with a controller, unfortunately the WebGL version seemed a bit buggy to me
It didn't work at all on Firefox (high possibility of this just being a Unity problem), and all the UI text disappeared at some point on Chrome
circ1.png circ2.png circ3.png
Very nice game. The combination of music and graphics help setting the mood and the alien animations are hilarious. I think that the concept is interesting and the humor (even in the menus) is hilarious. I found it a bit difficult to understand where the circle should be though.
As a small note: (having played in the browser) having used CTRL to make the alien wider can trigger the save menu of the browser if accidentally pressed with the s (CTRL-s).
Amazing concept, and very well implemented! Of course I'm terrible at it so I barely passed the first test, but that's on me
I loved the art, in 3D as well as in the UI. The mood that you created is very good, the music and the visuals working very well together.
I didn't understand how you used the theme, except for the fact that it's in a crop field.
Here are some potential issues you might want to fix: - I think there's an error in the menu where the controls are explained: both getting taller and flatter are mapped to the "Ctrl" key, while I understood it's supposed to be ctrl and shift. Yes I'm one of the 3 people who will play your game with the keyboard :) - In the browser, the ctrl key is quite annoying when combined with other keys. For this reason I gave up and played the Windows build instead. Maybe the control to make the alien smaller could be moved to another key in webgl to avoid this.
Good job!
I tried to play it with my friend, but it didn't play well with Parsec, even if one of us used controller and the other used keyboard :( Only one of us could do any inputs at a time, which sucked, but is likely a Parsec issue rather than one with your game.
So, I had to play alone, which I almost gave up on because the game won't recognize my generic USB gamepad (i can only use left stick to move, no buttons to raise up or lower down) and I couldn't get the keyboard version to raise up either. I thought it was double-press the Up Arrow or W key to raise up body, it is EXTREMELY unclear that the keyboard controls are left/right shift!!
In the end I was able to play solo with keyboard, but I found it too difficult alone (although I'm not sure having a friend would improve the difficulty). I was only able to get 23% every time I tried level 1, which I know is the lowest possible score since that's also the score you get for standing around and doing nothing.
I like the concept and I loved the sounds the aliens made. I'd have rated it somewhere around 4 or 5 stars for audio if you had opted in to audio ratings
Very atmospheric, but I'm not really sure how to play on a keyboard... I couldn't figure out how to move the second alien, and pressing Cntrl for a second time didn't make him "stand up" from his crouch. The camera view was also at a sharp angle while in the field, so I couldn't see what I was doing very well to verify that I was matching the pattern.
However, I think this game could be a lot of fun if the controls were fixed and the gameplay was better tutorialized.
Snipaste_2023-01-12_09-12-45.png
nice art style and mood!!
Excellent concept Excellent realisation Amazing art
Guys, it's a big big GG here ;) the only things to improve could be keyboard controls..
Je crois bien que vous êtes français, alors : bravos !

Sorry, but someone HAS to do it, I sacrifice myself..
@yorsh I added more detail in the changelogs to better understand when we did them.
I left the windows builds done during the jam, if you want to see the difference.
Thank you for your feedback, your game is excellent too ;)
I would like to change the mapping to improve the game experience, but I'm not sure if it's a fix or a gameplay change. We could not see the problem because the webgl build was done after the end of the JAM due to compatibility problems with our shaders.
However, I think I will do it in all cases after the JAM for a better experience for future players :)
What a banger! Best game of the jam for me this far! Brilliant idea, beautiful execution!
If I had just one tiny problem with it is the fact that I can't see the drawing when I put one alien on the Top view and go in the field with the second alien.
Would love to see more of this game! Beautiful work!
Definitly the best game I played so far! Visual & sound design are very unique, gameplay is fun. Amazing game overall, definitly a must play of this jam. I plannted to try it with a friend sometime to experience the coop.
Wow! Amazing game with just so many subtle touches. Glad to see you guys are getting lots of reviews and positive feedback. Things I loved: Graphics were on point. Great intro tutorial. Options screen. Unique visual style. Very impressive game.
Cool game. I find keyboard is hard to control. It would be better if the camera could be farther away.
Managed to hit 100% on level 2! Pretty excited about that!
Really nice "zone out" game - I played with a controller and it felt really smooth and intuitive (although the "grow up" command is only listed on the game page and not anywhere in game so that confused me for a bit). It's also extremely polished aside from some UI bugs I came across in the web version that forced me to use mouse and keyboard to be able to navigate through the options menu.
Great stuff!
I really like the game, but i find the controls extremly confusing tbh, but the idea is awesome, and this game only really lacks a better explanation tbh
Fantastic game, easily one of the best ones I have played this jam, Great job!
Using Ctrl + key combinations resulted in the browser bookmarking the game then booting my ass out because ctrl + something closed the browser tab in firefox. The physics on the little creature is nice. It's the most creative use of the "harvest where you've walked" mechanics. I wish I didn't have to wait an entire minute for it to judge me.
Neat entry!
If you can speedrun this in singleplayer playing both aliens at the same time you are the alien. :D Cool concept!
ctrl+key browser tab closing also happened to me...
Graphics are super pretty, love the handdrawn shader.
Not sure how to float, didn't really find out...
Controls can be a lil choppy on keyboard, not so easy to draw stuff like circles with just wasd.
The idea is super cool though, just wonder if a different control scheme would have played more into it.
Graphics style is fun! love the idea of being able to play this with 2 people. Definitely want to try this with a controller to see if that makes creating the circles a bit easier! Definitely more difficult with WASD. The cute little Aliens really stole my heart!
Chill non punishing game! Refreshing for a game jam.
Really good mood. The controls were a bit difficult to understand at the beginning.
Overall I thought this was a great entry! It fit the theme perfectly and I love the idea of a crop circle making game.
I found the detection seemed a bit broken, I could get at most 2% on the first level, 40% on the second, and 85% on the third haha. It also was hard because there was no way to move the aliens in the field without destroying crops, it seemed like when the alien was "up" it shouldn't have done that. I liked the noise effect shader but it got to be a bit much after a while. I also wish I could see the full picture when one alien was in the top down stand.
Keep up the good work and keep on making games!
SUCH a clever game. I'm really interested in what kind of pattern recognition you implemented. Success really isn't all that possible with keyboard and mouse (I couldn't break 25% on the first level, but I did manage 55% on the second! 37% on the third), but I'm sure someone could do better. The game was certainly possible with one player alone, which I appreciated.
The art style and effects and music really sold it. I think you made a thousand smart decisions on that! (Also: the options menu was a nice feature to add!!)
Wow, pretty creative game! In the absence of a second player, I had to control both characters haha.
I liked the graphics, the sound is good, and the gampley is quite fun. It's a shame I'm not good at drawing haha.
Good work!
This is such a fantastic game idea! I absolutely love it :joy:
Yes I did draw the odd crude picture -_- But I did also have fun trying to make realistic crop circles
I love the models and animations. They are so well done. Great job! :D
Definitely cool idea. The camera makes it pretty hard to play splitscreen. Also the scoring seems really off for me
Congrats! Most innovative interpretation i've seen on the theme!
Really nice entry! Great art and music, congrats to the team :)
Add a few more levels and this game is ready for release I love it
1% on the first level, I'm embarrassing myself carp.png
Really, a really nice entry. I love almost everything from gameplay, world concept, visuals, and music. All fit together and create a super good feeling when playing it. Especially when playing with buddies.
Thanks for very good entry.
Such a visually pleasing entry! loved the atmosphere and the aliens, cool creative concept! fun to have a 2 player ludum game too!
That was incredibly fun. Very nice looking game and love the punny names :)
this is super fun and beautiful at the same time! i had a bit of trouble with controls at first, but wow, the quality of this game!! great entry!
I absolutely loved this game! The idea of creating art in corn fields is so unique and I had a blast playing it.
At first, I had some trouble getting a decent score but after a few tries, I was able to improve. I had some issues with the WebGL build (control + WASD, my gamepad seems to be broken) and the downloadable version (starting on the wrong monitor, but I was eventually able to get it working correctly).
The audio was nice and ambient (with a good alien vibe to it) but it could be a bit louder. The graphics were really good, but I thought the aliens were a bit too wobbly. The idea of a co-op art game is really cool and I wish I could have played it with someone to make crop circles together. I really liked how the newspaper reinforced the score in a fun way. Overall, great job on this game and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
BestCircle.png
I got 0% on the first level. :/ Possibly just me being inept, but seems too difficult!
@reivilibre, I do 99% on first stage, it's possible ;). The algorithm used to compute score is very simple. It's just image comparaison. We compare image draw on the field by the player to the reference image ( image shown on start of the level) if player draw pixel like in the ref image, we increments the score. But if player draw pixel not in the ref image we subtract 0.3 to the score. Finally we divide by the number of white pixel in the ref image and multiply by 100 (we also multiply by two, because it's very difficult otherwise). So a little tips to succeed, try to color all the pixel present in the ref image, it's more important than bad drawing pixels for the score ;) also the game is designed for gamepad first, it's more easier to draw circle with joystick than with WASD. Good luck to you to pass your crop circle license.
This was a really neat game! I'd be interested to see the code behind the crop field and how the player flattens it. Is it something you built during the jam, or pulled from another project? Either way it is quite impressive! I'm also curious how you calculate the final score. I also really liked how the aliens always leave a trail through the corn field, even if you are standing tall.
@LookLeftStudio , we realized the field shader during this jam. It would have been hard to predict that before the start of the jam. we start by drawing in a render texture the movement vector of the aliens. then we use another shader to display the field with gpu instancing. and simply crop them flattened according to the previous texture. for fun, I'm working on the shader, to really bend the ears of wheat. I will surely post an update after the jam
love the visuals and co-op design! i think its a shame that one player basically has to stop playing to get the top view, wish there could just be a button to toggle top view on/off so both players can make crap circles from that perspective!
@francois-dervaux, thanks for the update! You should send me a demo of the shader that bends the wheat once you get it working, I'd love to see it! Shaders are something I've been trying to learn but haven't taken too deep of a dive into yet. If you write an article or just want to share the code, let me know about it at LookLeftStudio@gmail.com
Fun game! Really good idea and good execution. It was quite hard for me but that didn't really matter and I still enjoyed playing.
(I also pressed ctrl+w one time and ctrl+s many times, might have been a good idea to not have crouch on ctrl for the web build, but I also didn't think of it for my game :D but that's just a small thing and not your fault.)
Your game looks amazing.
Love this visual style and control of squids.
Thanks for game =)
very cool! I love the concept!!
Very neat idea! I do wish there was a way to do this with a mouse, but i get it (my game also had some control challenges.. jams don't provide much time for this).
Also I totally appreciate the mowing-a-field mechanic  as it is pretty much what we did!
It is a very innovative way of gameplay in game jam. I didn't expect it to be a two-player cooperative game. It would be better if the perspective is from the top view. Maybe it’ll be much more comfortable to play in this way.
Incredible aesthetic, very cool theme interpretation, got a good laugh as well, strong strong entry and amazing work!!!! Blown away by the quality!
Really neat game and the art + writing is charming! I wish I like how the game can be done in single player AND multiplayer which adds re=playability. If you all do a post jam version I'd love to see more like obstacles you have to draw around or spotlights from paranoid farmers!
This was so good!! Really polished and high quality all around! A lot of awesome attention to detail! The graphics and the overall style/vibe was really cool! I loved the animated crosshatching textured grass too -looks really stylish.
The sound design, music and alien noises were great too! Also the humor was great -liked the newspaper headlines too xD
Fantastic work on this!
Screenshotalien1.png
IDK how you achieved this aesthetic but it is awesome. Camera movement is good. Love the look of the aliens and art.
Very athmospheric game and one of the very few (optional) multiplayer titles in the jam. Everything seems very polished and the concept is unique. Good job!
I sadly had to rate the game on what how i thought it would be and not on what it is.. :(( Its still a good raiting since i see this having so much potential to be fun playing! But sadly in the browser mode, for some reason it is really unplayable... The fps is capped around 10 and its too lagy to even try to move.. So do you by chance have a downloadable version that you can post? That would help a lot and i will love to come back to it and give it another try then!
Also if you plan on developing the game further, from the comments section i can see that a really cool idea would be letting players add their own patterns that need to be drawn! Yes, even if it means that of course someone will get creative and make a peepee ...
Oh and also when opening the menu i wasnt able to see the buttons... Laptop, 1920x1080 resolution, windows 10, Microsoft edge browser... Hope this helps a bit..
menu.png
Thanks for your feedback, for your problem we didn't anticipate some people play and even still use edge browser :clown:. Try to play on firefox or chrome. And you can dl the game, we put some zip file on this page. Links are just above the itch.io's link.
@kikiriki367, thks for the review. I'm sorry that it's hard for you to play. we do have a downloadable version. the link was already available on the ludumdare page. I recommend the latest version (a lot of fixes to make the game better) We are aware that on small configs, the game can be difficult to run, this is particularly due to the volumetric fog shader. it's hard to optimize everything during a 72h jam :P. We will surely update the game with an improved version. it will be possible to deactivate certain shader in the options. do not hesitate to re-test at this time if the Windows version is also slow on your machine.
Oh i was looking for it in the itchio page... Maybe post it there as well! (or im just a bit blind..) yeah i understand and no worries! Ill for sure play it later tonight by downloading it :))
Thanks for submitting your game on the stream! Here’s the start of your game if you wanted to re-watch initial thoughts youtu.be/i0gT8D-gcB4?t=11487
Really loved the look and mood of this game! The little wobble as the aliens move around is so good! Congrats on a really fun game!
Nice game! Took me a while to get used to the controls but was fun once I did. Liked the humour and the art direction as well. Overall nice job
visuals are great! It was a bit low on performance but game looks cool!
I love this so much! Absolutely breathtaking visuals and so much fun to play. The controls are a bit chaotic but i think that just adds to the fun. Well done!
I think this is the most visually creative game I've seen this jam. Although I would recommend disabling the exit button and resolution settings on the webGL version
This game is visually appealing. I definitely loved the shaders used . I love the innovative game mechanics. I liked the reverse take on crop fields. It is a well polished game. Great game
