Most Minimalist game I have ever played ^^ good work. 267 high score (song 3)
I love it!
link goes to a 404 on itch.io
The controls are a little bit hard. Between my bad carpal tunnel hands and the RNG gods (being evil as they should) I couldn't get very far. But it was cute and fun! Good game!
Thanks for all the great feed back guys! We really love hearing your likes and dislikes. All your comments help us to grow. (It's just the two of us, husband and wife team. Neither of us do this work professionally, nor do we have "formal" training, lol. This is just our hobby and something we enjoy doing together. <3)
Unfortunately, we are under the impression that fixing the mouse sensitivity at this point is against the rules, so for now... it is what it is and we will try do do better next time :D
The game DOES have an ending, and it CAN be completed in under 10 minutes. The intention was a feeling of smallness in a big, open, vast world... to explore and discover. It sounds like you guys are feeling it. :)
Yes, we are seriously considering developing it further as there were many BIG ideas that we wanted for it but set aside because we knew we couldn't complete them in 72 hours lol.
I will offer you a bit of a spoiler... find the jet pack and discover how to refuel it. It will help you get around and you can always refuel it again later if you run out.
Can't wait to hear from the first person who makes it to the end. :)
Cute. Like what you did with that potato there. Glad I played it
though you have opted out of graphics, the art is nice! nicely polished look and feel. Couldn't get too far though, not game's fault... the last 72 hours have killed my carpal tunnel lol. Good job!
was able to play it just fine :) Good jam entry. I wasn't super sure what I was supposed to be doing. But there is certainly potential. Keep up the good work!
Concept sounds fun. Cute early art. I can totally see the beginnings of something good and fun here! If you decide to develop this further, I would love to watch it progress :)
VERY CUTE!! Super fun! I loved playing it and totally lost track of time :D Great game! Keep up the good work!
Cute jam game. A little background music would have been pleasant. Solid entry.
Great game! I would have enjoyed a persistent indicator (like maybe a light smoke trail) to show you where the fire is going the whole time, instead of just a couple of seconds before the it flares. But, then you do offer infinite lives, to that eventually you can memorize the puzzle. Great job! I really enjoyed playing
It may have been just me, but the controls felt laggy. Really made it hard with only ten seconds to make choices. Interesting concept though of super speed dating... criminals!
I didn't have lag with the HTML version. Good game. Love the graphics!
The character and enemies are cute, and I love the squeak! Well done :)
Really enjoyed this! Great Graphics, smooth controls, nice audio, fun mechanics. Great job!
When I scare off all the birds, no foxes appear, yet it tells me the foxes ravaged the field and Game Over. Very Pretty graphics, though.
Great idea! Very fun!
Stunning graphics. Literally LOL!!! Wish there was more.
Nice graphics. I agree that it needs a little more to do, and more randomness to the items. It might be fun also to craft potions and use or sell them.
@efilheim By the final few hours I had art ready for a couple more weapons, enemies, and pick-ups. We just didn't have enough time to implement them. We are thrilled that everyone is enjoying our Doom spoof ;)
There were price tags below the rabbits?!? I didn't even see that the whole time I was playing lol. Cute concept. I would have enjoyed a little background variety.
I am awful at rhythm games, but I really enjoyed the art and music. Creative use of the theme. Great job team!
Not Bad! I agree with being able to see a teleport cooldown. but I would also enjoy a mini map with at least the level layout. Specific plants that you have to protect might also be a fun addition. It is a solid base game with lots of room for expansion. Keep up the good work!
NecromancersGuideToHappyFarming.png Great little game!
Don't understand the instructions on how to play. Tried a few times and just couldn't make sense of it. But I love the graphics, audio, and mood. Really would have enjoyed continuing with the story. Good job!
Cute AND brutal!
I killed a couple of carrots and then got stuck in an empty field. Loved the graphics though.
And the mystery of how crop circles are formed is solved! Great graphics. Interesting mechanic. Love your creativity!
Excellent! Had so much fun with it! Easy to learn. Engaging. I could play this all day :)
Loved the graphics and smooth controls. I would have liked if the mechanics had been introduced one at a time so that I could understand what each one was actually doing, but I know that would have taken far too long to implement for a jam. Nice game, well polished!
Your otters are SO adorable! Like the concept and would love to have had more.
Save the world one poop at a time. Really like the concept. Cute art. Nice music. Simple. Clean. Fun. Good job!
OMG! LOVE the Graphics! Great game!
Controls feel just right. Clean and simple game play match perfectly with the pleasing graphics. Great little chill game!
"Let's get the hell out of here." Ha Ha Ha! Fun Adventure!
Pleasingly different. I played it on PC but I can imagine it is better on mobile as you intended. Cute concept and fun little game. Keep up the good work :)
I liked the seagulls! Please don't take them out. Great game :)
Creative! Nice art. Good balancing. The beginner level is just right for teaching the game play mechanic, and the master level is challenging still by the time the player reaches it. Good entry. Looking forward to your next jam entry :D
Love the graphics!
So CUTE and nostalgic! An exit game button would have been useful. But I loved it!
Wow, really had to hole the arrow keys for a while to get the box to toss. Nice graphics and audio. Feels good knocking down mail boxes with the mail truck :P Good game!
Didn't really expect a card game with this theme, but you pulled it off nicely ;P Rain is a nice touch. Took me a couple of tries to really figure out what was going on, but once I got it I had a fun time. Keep up the good work! See you next jam :)
OMG I LOVED it! I am glad that the timers were scrapped. Love the pizza names!!! You have really set this up to be an opening chapter RPG. I would personally prefer it to be a turn based RPG to keep the chill. But it's your world, I just play in it :P I want so much to go adventuring with this lovely couple! Got me right in the feels <3
Controls feel good. Graphics are cute. Enjoyed playing :)
Cute graphics. Like the sfx. Controls feel great. Fun to play. Yet I wanted more from it. Maybe 1v1 co-op or pvp? Or maybe enemies of some type? As it stands it is a solid start with lots of possibilities. Good entry.
Cute little witch with a lead broom foot :)
Loved the game. Played it until level 12 or so where I reached a puzzle I just couldn't figure out. It had 6 or 7 items. It was brutal, and I really needed sleep :P Something I would have enjoyed at that point would have been possibly a purchasable hint, that would place a single piece for me. Even just one per puzzle would have given me a starting point, I feel. But I really enjoy it! Going to play it again :D
Could we get a web build?
I like the mechanic but I don't get the goal. Was there something specific I was meant to be building? Maybe a certain number of pieces I was meant to use each level? It just feels as there is no win/lose scenario.
Good puzzle game. I can see how you utilized the theme by making the invisible outer boundary for each puzzle. I think some of the previous commenters didn't catch that detail that really ties your game in with the theme. That's unfortunate because I think it is a great use of the theme and a good entry. The mechanics work well, and I Long Long's voice. It adds a nice touch.
Wow, I couldn't figure out the last level! Great job!
Instructions aren't very clear without experiencing the gameplay, and the gameplay isn't very clear without the instructions. I think the player needs a little in game hand holding with this one. But the graphics are very nice and the game has depth. The players just need a little help understanding it.
Nice thinking inside the bottle :P Really enjoyed the game! Well executed! Would love to see you expand it!
I played it long enough to get to the speed ramping up and it becoming difficult enough that I did lose. I do see why people are saying that the speed is too slow though because it does take what feels to the player like a loooong time to notice an increase. I LOVE that you can play the game with one hand! That is always a big plus in my book ;P I would like to see a future version of the game where you can do something with the money you earn. Good entry!
So fun I had to share with my better half :P I love the way you did the level up mechanic. It is very smooth to the gameplay.
I felt small Alice was a bit too "slippery" for what felt like no reason and it honestly frustrated me to keep sliding off the normal "blocks"
I love the death sound! (heard it alot too, haha) Fun game, refreshing use of the theme
The pandas are cute! the difficulty ramps up really fast! I couldn't manage the third level. But then I suck at most games lol.
Pretty ambitious for a team of two. (We are also a two person team) You did a great job. I did't really get very far, but what I played felt solid, just a little too difficult for me. If only I had found a better weapon... preferably a ranged weapon... ANYway, I look forward to seeing more jam games from you in the future :)
I had the same thing happen where I couldn't place anything on the stage on closing night. But it was a fun matching style game. I enjoyed the creativity in the performers and their bios. The critics were great as well. Music was also great... when I got it right lol
Wow that is brutal! Loved the concept, character and art in general. Character controls well. Good brutal game. If I were to make a suggestion, it would maybe be an easier mode for those who suck at platformers like me lol.
Welcome to LD! Solid first entry. Simple, easy to understand mechanic and controls. I love it when I can just load the game and play without having to read a bunch of complicated rules and then try to remember then when I actually get to the gameplay. Great job! Looking forward to seeing more games from you :)
It's a little bit complicated, but I feel that could be overcome by a hand-holding in game tutorial. It is understandable that there is no hand-holding tutorial given the time constraints of a jam. If you want to expand this game post jam, I would suggest starting there. That said, it feels like a solid game idea with loads of potential. It is a great entry for your first jam. Really good job!
That was fun! Beautiful graphics! Can you wake up the resident? I think it would have been cool if that was a danger lol. Personally I think the way the objects act when they contact your "body" is a feature not a bug. It acts just the way I would have expected it to act, and adds to the challenge and comedy of trying to move the objects. The physics work well. Great job! TheifScreenshot.png
Nice! I loved it! Refreshingly different use of the theme and well executed! Recruiting my other half to play it too. He is much better at this type of game than I am and I want to watch :P
I had a hard time keeping my mouse on the screen but really enjoyed the game. It was mesmerizing @.@
Great game! Really fun! If I could make one suggestion, it would be a custom cursor because I kept losing track of my cursor in the piles of enemies. Three fireball upgrades, and the game gets REALLY fun, lol. I didn't really understand the purple guys, am I supposed to guard them? keep them in the circle? not sure... But I rather enjoyed the game, until I crashed... hope what I could fit of the error message helps...

Reminds me of "A boy and his blob" only way better :P
This is a really good base that you could expand into many different directions. (Upgrades, Bosses, Storied levels to list a few ideas) Solid. Had a great time playing it. Loved the sfx. I'm going to be running around like "Ow" for a week now :P I'd love to see what you do with it if you decide to expand it.
Thanks for the web build! Great game, Sparklepants! Simple yet challenging, easy to learn controls, good pace. Love the art, music and sound. I encountered zero bugs that I know of. The mechanic is really fun. Thanks for the entry!
Is there any way we could get a web build?
Good mechanic, well executed.
I noticed the extra touches in design like the coffee maker wants water and fire, the sink wants water and air (because you need to dry your hands), and the guy in the toilet, he wants... void (HAHAHAHA!!!) I personally think the challenge of the mini games is well balanced, as the real challenge of the game is to complete as many jobs as you can in a day. The game ran smoothly. (Thanks a BUNCH for the web build!) It is a fun little game. The only suggestion I would have is like others have stated, knowing what floors the jobs are on. maybe a little UI box and/or displaying the number of jobs on a floor in the elevator menu would be a good addition.
I super suck at platformers, so I couldn't get very far. But I love the world you have created! I could play enough to tell you nailed the horror mood. I just wish there was a super easy mode for me to play so I could get to see more of the game, it is so beautiful! Great job!
I love it. Graphics are great, sound is great, gameplay is fun! I just miss my old NES controller now...
love the art! the mechanics are super fun! I completely forgot about the upgrades! Hold my drink, Im going back for more :D
Don't be so hard on yourselves. Now that I know the space bar starts and stops the simulation, the game is a solid puzzle solving game with good physics feel. I enjoyed playing it even though i wasn't smart enough to beat every level. It was nice that you could choose each level even if you didn't beat the previous one, so I tried them all :D
impressive use of your 5 hours! I do wish there had been a button to click to add a few numbers instead of having to eat ALL the numbers to get new ones. But great job! I hope to see what you are capable of doing with the full allotted time! Catch ya next jam!
I agree that the music was good, but repetitive. The concept and and mechanics of bunching up a bunch of fleas and sending them all at once was great. I love how they will stack and jump off each other. I even had one get land on the star once and jump off of it lol. GG!
Really like the art and music. I didnt really notice any SFX if they were there, but I think they would have kicked it up a notch. I love a jam game that doesn't require a tutorial. good job!
the most adorable dust bunnies I have ever seen! I really suck at platformers, but i eventually completed all three levels. really cute concept. wish you had time for more levels! PS. you never realize how much you use the letter "v" until it starts sticking on you keyboard lol
Been playing this last round for literally over 6 hours and CANNOT die! I AM INVINCIBLE!!! :P I even left it playing and went off to make coffee, do dishes, bathroom breaks, and long conversations with the hubby. Love this game! Thanks for making it. Can wait to see what you do next time ;P
Very creative characters! I am so glad winning didnt require jumping lol Thoughts on making it into a bigger game?
I am missing my Kerbal Space Program prerequisite and am totally unqualified to play. lol But I love the graphics and audio! The concept is really good and seems well executed. I will watch wheelsx play again so I can see more of it. I know he wont mind lol Great job! See you next jam!
Tried the post jam, and I am still a flunkie! lol Still love the graphics and sfx though! Space driving is just not in my skill set, but it looks like I will have to send wheelsx to reclaim his high score when he wakes up ;P
Untitled.png
Thanks so much for the post jam build. I managed to at least get grumpy cat close... several times, even lol
cute little fetch game. the controls are well done and intuitive. love the pixel work. Good job team!
I think you needed more digits because the numbers overflowed >.< There are actually 11k logs in this image too. Untitled.png
Blown away by the art, polish, UI. Love the creativity of the obstacles (especially the cat) and the items. That is sooooo much content for a jam! Well done team!
Thank you for the try again option lol Challenging and fun! Nice work :)
some of the best stories begin with the end. that said, i really wish i could speak french. really like the art style.
The graphics are very cute. Animations are smooth, as well as the controls. I would have liked to have a name next to the potion icons to remind me which one is which. I can see not having a name there would add extra challenge though. Cute idea. Keep up the good work.
I had one game that stopped spawning enemies and had to restart it. But it is a fun game mechanic, controls feel good, and it is wel polished given the time frame. Good job!
Super nice graphics and animations! It felt like I really felt like I was playing an old school handheld. I would have loved the ability to change keybindings though, but I know that is a bit ambitious of a request for a jam game lol. Good entry and I hope to see more from you in future jams!
I had no problems cutting stuff with the knife, to include myself... lol But I couldn't figure out what some of the icons in the recipe meant, so I couldn't get very far. Enjoyed the game and the unique controls. Wow, the customers tip well :P
Great fun! Couldn't completely figure out how the connecting points worked, but here's my score. Now lets see who can obliterate it lol 1ESF.png
It was interesting to stand in a politicians shoes for a moment and remember that if they want to win, they HAVE to say what the voters want to hear, not necessarily what they really think or feel. I loved the graphics and audio. What an adorable way to get a player thinking. Good Job!
I played this game waaaay too long :P I love the graphics and watching what the rejects did lol
I WAS wondering if you had something planned for "border defence" I thought maybe machine guns, but nukes would have been a blast ;P
... or a vat of hot oil lol
I really liked the obstacles, they add a lot to the game. Great job with keeping the game in scope of a compo, yet fun to play, AND with good art! See you in October!
I think I would have had a better time of it if there had been maybe black lines for the edges of the cube sides. But, I have some vision issues, so it could just be a me thing lol. Good game. Looking forward to seeing you in October!
Got out with 21 gold! I'm rich!!!! >.< Good game! See you in October?
Wait... was that a SHARK with a friggin LAZER beam attached to it's HEAD?!?! or am I just hallucinating after a long jam? :D :D :D Loved it! See you in October?
Gnocchi.png
Straightforward and FUN! Thanks! See you in October?
The voice acting is great! I loved it. The mechanic is good. You don't need to read the words, just make sure you are choosing by color. Then find out what you said afterwards, lol. The only gripe I have is that the dialogue is often covered by the continue "button" in the dialogue box. Other than that It played perfectly. Good game! See you in October?
Beautiful and relaxing graphics and audio. Nice game for some post jam unwinding :D
Nice post jam stress breaker! Good job. Hope to see you in October :D
Fantastic! Loved the novel mechanic, and the story. Thanks for the game. See you in October?
I'm not even sure my torpedoes were actually firing lol. Probably a skill issue >.< Good concept, fits the theme nicely.
Chronicles of MArmo.png Got stuck in the mesh here. lvl 4, I think... But good game! Easy to pick up and play. Always a plus in my personal book ;P Thanks! See you in October?
Really wish space had been jump and S dive instead. Instincts kept getting me killed lol. Good game. Procedurally generated, yes? Had fun with the Poppins!
That explains why it felt precedural, and not at the same time. The effect is great! And really smooth! Good job :)
WASD doesn't work on itch. Maybe more controls, not sure because I couldn't really test them without movement.
Take it from someone who knows, therapy doesn't work Ciggy. You made the right choice taking out your frustrations on the little smokeys that got you started in the first place. Listening to them was a bad idea. Lesson learned. Fun game, btw. Begging for some screaming guitar >.<
Art and audio really stand out. The difficulty ramp up isn't game breaking, but it is still a sudden jump. I would have liked a less jarring ramp up. Personal opinion, though. Good job! See you next October?
The sounds and music remind me so much of TMNT for some reason lol I lOVE it! I did not have any issue refilling oxygen. (Firefox) I really suck at twin sticks, but it was still fun trying. Controls and level design felt well built. Good job! See you in October?
@wheelsx you were at work when I played this, but I was going to post the exact same thing. What an encouraging game! Follow your dreams, buy a boat, go to every concert that comes by... it will all work out in the end :P
