Hi! I really like how you borrow from Chess mechanic! It would have more depth if it is deliberate turn based puzzle than reaction time, but it seems like you prefer delivering a lighter experience, with that you are doing well! Minor issue: The yellow outline for the end isn't so easy to spot at first.

The difficulty curve is going interestingly exponential, which one the one hands fit the overal theme, while may have sacrifices giving the right amount of challenge to players. A very clean game!
