It's a very good start. For now, it isn't what I would call a "game;" there isn't any way to fail. With a bit more polish in the story and gameplay, it could be something special. Very pretty, mood is spot on.

vrerabek 2022-04-05 11:09

Art style of the game is fantastic, the atmosphere is also great.

The gameplay however is kinda missing, as running around collecting things got repetitive really soon. Maybe cutting the requirements for the missions to half, maybe even third of what it is right now would be great as it was really nice to see entire environment change in day 2. Sadly I gave up during day2 as I could not find the last glowing rock, but I'm really curious if there are any other environments.

I seriously dig the graphics of this game though, keep it up!

osh-studio 2022-04-05 11:13

Instantly, I love the graphics and the mood - there's just something about the simple boxy graphics that goes well with an eerie mood. I think you could have had something super gripping if there were infestation creatures in amongst the mist, I was already scared. Good Submission.

kenforest 2022-04-05 11:14

@vrerabek Yes, I think the mission requirements should have been lowered a bit. And yes, on the third day, the environment is different and it is the last one. Thanks for playing.

I loved the aesthetics! This kind of PS1 vibes but with a modern touch, this is great! It reminded me of Lost in Vivo.

The tasks were a bit boring and hard to find though, with a lot of stuff to do in a huge place without a lot of help. I spend a lot of time walking in circle trying to find the lakes and volcano on the first day, and a lot of time on the third day trying to figure out what I was looking for. But the radar is great and the frogs making noise to help us find them is a good idea :) I wish there would be some form of "challenge", a way to "fail" your tasks, that would have made the gameplay phases more interesting :)

Overall, I enjoyed the experience, I liked the mood of it. I would have expected something really scary to happen, but it's okay :D

save-sloth-studios 2022-04-05 11:22

I'm a big fan of low poly, old-timey 3d graphics, so I think you already had me at there! Great models and animations. The mood of these dark, crude places really creeped me out. As others have said, gameplay is a little bit too repetitive and takes away some of the charm of the game when you are desperately trying to find the 17th acid lake. But great work nonetheless, really liked this one!

jasuse 2022-04-05 11:30

Good use of PS1 graphics make a really creepy atmosphere.

borgi 2022-04-05 11:35

I love the graphics and the atmosphere, sounds were really fitting also well dont on that! The lakes could have an indicator on that detector device, because I gave up finding the last one on day 1. Some of my improvement ideas would be, based on day1 gameplay: -some more environmental storytelling -a map would help a lot, it could be without showing where collectibles/task goals are, just I wanted to know if I checked some part of this land or not -the scanning of the detector could be faster - just making it a bit more noob/beginner friendly Anyways really nice work for a 72 hour game!

akitl 2022-04-05 11:36

its realy clean ! but i was juste lost in the day 1 and no find all objectevies ...

matthewsworld 2022-04-05 11:53

I loved the art style, and the mood was on point, it feels like a haunted ps2 game! I think that the tasks could be a bit easier, I found myself getting lost quite a bit, but I stuck with it to the (slightly confusing, albeit beautiful) ending!

drunkardwolf 2022-04-05 19:09

Really loved this, great entry. Mood is fantastic and love the style. Great work! :)

she-wrote 2022-04-05 21:18

I love this game, it has a wonderfully creepy atmosphere! The items are so cool too, and the goose of course!

gramsinator 2022-04-06 13:33

Really love the artstyle. Everything is visually cohesive.

Goose is a nice touch. The mechanics are quite nice and the items themselves feel good to use, no excessive animation time etc.

Main problem is is impossible to find shit with the way things are setup, since sonar only detects short range (for a jam you probably made it detect long range and just have a screen clogged up with dots or... make a map design less confusing, use landmarks some amount of landmarks. The whole only detecting close range is fine but combined with fog and darkness and a large map its just impossible to play past random luck.

However i have no idea what size or shape the map has so you really sell the mood / experience of being lost in a forest.

Everything is quite well executed overall.

seabirddigital 2022-04-06 14:34

I loved the mood and graphics. I would have liked the map to be always present but I think that is probably part of the game design to help with the atmosphere which was top notch. Great job

meeseagainsthumanity 2022-04-06 18:12

Not many people made a fully 3D exploration game but you did, and it works really well. With a couple of tweaks and probably some story changes this would work really *really* well as a horror game.

eoshadows 2022-04-06 19:54

Great game! Loved the graphics, and the ambiance was a nice touch to the gameplay. I didn't really run into any issues, though some extra, unpredictable things throughout the game might have been nice to make the repetitive tasks more interesting. But overall, I liked it! Well done!

thorpalsson 2022-04-06 20:25

Great atmosphere in the game, it would be nice if the areas weren't so massive since you end up walking around searching for stuff for the majority of the game. Still a great entry and you did a great job with creating a tension.

nicmagnier 2022-04-06 21:05

Impressive atsmosphere and sense of mystery. The picking up tasks were a bit repetitive and it is very easy to get lost but this is a bit the point on the experience. Overall I really liked it. Well done.

firesong-bard 2022-04-06 21:10

Fantastic job with the ambiance. I adored the noise filter overlay you had going, and the fog worked really well. Goose made me laugh out loud.

What I saw of the game had really clean execution, and the radar was a great idea to help navigate in the dark foggy forest, but it wasn't quite enough to counteract the size of the map. I wasn't able to get past Day 1, having walked around for a good 20 minutes trying to find a ping on my radar I had missed, and even finding where I parked the car was difficult.

Really impressive work for a jam!

mortus 2022-04-06 23:01

Really like the aesthetics! Graphics style is great and sounds work well with it. I feel like there are a bit too many objectives, it becomes really repetitive a bit too quick. Also, that goose made my day! :D

henanboy 2022-04-07 08:01

Absolutely loved this one. The mood, graphics, and audio are all top notch. While it does get a bit repetitive after a while, I enjoyed the relaxing nature of the tasks and the lack of danger. Great job!

fuzzyagent 2022-04-08 03:53

The environment is informational to navigate. Congrats!

krakadushka 2022-04-08 21:02

Wow it is a really cool game, i Like it! First of all I want to say that visual is great. I like how many tasks you have done, so gameplay is really long and interesting. I like the most the dog collecting - it is really hilarious xD But map in thirst day was quite difficult to navigate. I was walking at least 5 minutes to find what I want. Maybe you should add prints to direct the final location. The story is cool, but end is quite boring for me. Visual of the end - super, but story end - dissapoint. IMHO. But I have got a lot of fun and mood from your game. It is really atmosphere. Awesome!

marron121 2022-04-09 14:20

It feels a bit clunky overall, but the aesthetic and setting are truly phenomenal. I would really love a more "streamlined" experience, because what is here is already quite good.

rosymaple 2022-04-11 06:27

I love atmospheric horror games like this, so I was really excited to see something of this nature!!

Only real criticism is that I definitely got the "I ran out of time so now the game ends" feeling at the end of it.

there is a small bug I noticed that made closing the menu sometimes eat my tab inputs, not sure why this was but it seemed like I needed to wait 2-3 sec with out inputs before it would let me close my task menu.

jordantanner 2022-04-12 20:20

@kenforest As others have said, the vibe in this game is very immersive and spooky. Only the sound of your footsteps and the light of the flashlight is great. The PS1-style shaders were really cool -- what tools did you use to make this? I had some trouble completing some of the tasks because the objects were very spread out, but overall, this is a fantastic entry. Nice work!!

harksa 2022-04-19 18:51

So, I've finally found your entry and I was very glad to be able to play it. It's not really a game, since there is no real gameplay, nor way to lose, but it is still a nice little experience. It's creepy yeah, the blue dot from the goose made me think there'd be another blue dot that'd be comming after me but nope lol, never. Good job on making me anxious for no reason  As everyone as already said : it's really good looking! The audio suits the experience very well as well. I really enjoyed the walk, even if the tasks were a little bit repetitive. The only downpart for me is the theme : it feels honestly very cheap to slap the "delay the inevitable virus" at the end of the experience. It doesn't make the experience bad, of course, but it still feels easy.

Anyway, still an enjoyable walk! Keep up the good work

eldogg 2022-04-21 15:38

Hey I really like this game. The atmosphere is really eerie and lonely (except for your goose). I like the premise and the tools that you have to clean up the environment. The artwork looks great too, I really like your psx style, especially the trees and foliage, they look really nice. I like the flashlight being slightly slower than the camera it makes it feel more natural. Great job!

oillen 2022-04-21 18:26

This game belongs to the category of "want more content", the end was kind of a beautiful and had a sense of wonder. The tools were easy to use and there was a good variation of them. A little bit of action would have been neat :D
