the title screen with the TV-headed robot has a fun saturday morning vibe. in the 3D level the camera sat close behind a wall and it was very dark, so i couldnt see the bot or where to go. pulling the camera back a bit would help

I couldn't figure out where to get the green key. Also, the game kept freezing for me, but otherwise, it seems like a pretty cool game.

mrs-wheelsx 2026-10-20 00:02 ♥ 1

I also experienced some freezing. Loved the audio! The little bot is adorable! I have a terrible sense of direction and kept getting lost. That said, the level design seems to be rather well done! Also, there was a door that I went through but the camera didn't follow me. I managed to get turned around and back through the door, and when I went through it the second time, the camera followed.

Nice work! Loved the audio!

human-writes-code 2026-10-20 09:33 ♥ 0

@blus7 @mrs-wheelsx Thanks for playing the game! The freezing issue is due to some extremely questionable design decisions made by an unnamed developer when they were very tired (okay... it was me) combined with the utter lack of optimization that comes with a game jam. It would work fine in a standalone build, but on the web it struggles a bit. Thanks again for taking a look!

milq 2026-10-20 09:34 ♥ 2

Congrats! Your handmade 3D bot, funny intro and the gameplay are charming, and the patrol bot's red light adds tension. Good use of camera, too! Great work, congrats!

human-writes-code 2026-10-20 09:34 ♥ 0

@gevernus Thanks for checking the game. I'm not sure if the camera issue you were experiencing was a bug or not. Generally, all the cameras are quite far back from the little bot. They're mostly high on the walls looking down on the room. So if that's not what you saw, then it was a bug but not one I've experienced in testing. Anyway, thanks for playing!

human-writes-code 2026-10-20 09:35 ♥ 0

@nursultan Thanks!

human-writes-code 2026-10-20 10:08 ♥ 0

@milq Thanks for playing! I'm actually pretty happy with the cameras, although there are still a few that are a bit funky.

alex-mulkerrin 2026-10-20 16:04 ♥ 1

The ambiance of being in a secret facility and avoiding detection was nice. Sadly the web build didn't seem to run very well and the sound kept glitching. The camera being affixed to the wall like a security camera was neat.

remink 2026-10-21 09:13 ♥ 1

Great little game, sadly I wasn't able to find the key and I got lost in the rooms ^^' The sound was a bit buggy, but I like the effort that was made in the music :)

human-writes-code 2026-10-21 09:26 ♥ 0

@alex-mulkerrin and @remink Thanks for playing my game! The sound issue is interesting. I don't get it at all on the web build (which is why I never fixed it during development) but quite a few people have mentioned it. It's not surprising since there is exactly zero optimization on this game. Also, @remink, I probably should have added a minimap but... let's be honest, I didn't have time.

This could turn into a great Metroidvania. Nice game, really enjoyed it!

perrarancino 2026-10-21 12:00 ♥ 1

the tv headed robot on the title screen has such a fun saturday morning cartoon vibe, and the whole quest for the old tech fits the theme nicely. i like that you have to hunt for keys and a battery before you can save the world, it gives the little bot a proper adventure. was the factory designed around one route, or did you build it with multiple paths in mind? cute game.

eugenik 2026-10-21 15:09 ♥ 1

The mystery surrounding the rumor of Old Tech is genuinely captivating. This concept makes for a very compelling game experience!

ao-85 2026-10-21 21:03 ♥ 1

Great job, your game is amazing! I loved playing it, super cool

wheelsx 2026-10-22 18:49 ♥ 1

Has the freezing issue that Godot web games tend to have, I'm not familiar with Godot, but I know some devs are able to mitigate it some. Not hating on Godot just because I'm a Unity fangirl, Unity has its web player issues as well, so it's a which bag of bugs do you want to deal with kind of situation.

I really liked the concept, the game had a lot of potential. I like the character, and the level design is good for such a short dev cycle. Using keys and the dash powerup to make the player retrace their steps a little bit meant going through a familiar environment but in the opposite direction, which reuses the same areas without feeling too repetitive. One minor change I would make regarding this progression is don't warn the player right away as soon as they come to the spikes. Give them a chance to figure it out, especially since you already talked about dash being a powerup in the controls.

I'm not going to sugar coat what I feel like the biggest issue was. It was the design choice in camera system. It reminds me of the first Resident Evil and other early 3D games, that fixed camera position looking into the room as you move around thing that AVGN has ranted about on multiple occasions. As soon as the camera changes angles, I have new knowledge of the room layout and need to adjust what direction I'm moving to avoid a laser or flying bot. Except the controls are now unexpectedly different, as if I'm drunk or something, making me go back to the old room. Then I have to go back to the new room, because that is where I'm trying to go after all. So I go to the new room again, get disoriented again, and find myself in the old room all over again. It is so frustrating that it is the single biggest thing keeping me from enjoying the game. I completed it because I wanted to see the entire game so I could give it a fair rating, but if it wasn't for the drive to give an honest rating, I would have left after the 3rd camera change.

edit: 2 grammar mistakes that were just bothering me too much

stefan-b 2026-10-22 19:31 ♥ 1

resident evil camera changes - cool angles but they really add to the difficulty.

thanatosisanoob 2026-10-22 21:24 ♥ 1

Hi! I'd love to leave some feedback that would imo make the game better.

First of all the camera angles. I like the idea behind them giving me a good view of the room, just that the sudden switch of controls sometimes made me run into an enemy and die. Some things I think would fix it would either make movement based off of the robots orientation (W is forward in robots direction and A and D just change the direction) or make the areas in front of doors more of safe zones.

I also think some sort of minimap reflecting areas you've explored already would be nice. It's easy to get lost as it is right now.

Some positives! I liked the stealth mechanics of the game, sneaking past the enemies took effort but not too much and I found that pretty fun. I also do like having the player explore rooms and backtrack rather than making a beeline for doors. Another is I liked the robots design itself. Idk what about it made me like it, I simply did.

Overall a game with lots of potential that just needs some polishing. I'd like to play a post-jam version if you ever make one!

human-writes-code 2026-10-22 23:08 ♥ 0

@wheelsx Thanks for playing and leaving such detailed feedback! I know the cause of the audio issue and its because I'm loading a bunch of stuff unnecessarily and not using audio player pooling. It's a fairly easy refactoring job to fix it if I go back to this.

The camera issue is not surprising to me. Having a non-fixed perspective presents issues no matter how the control is designed. I tried both making the direction relative to the bot and relative to the camera and, for my brain (and that of my one friend who playtested) at least, it made more sense to be camera-relative. I suspect it really depends on the player, though, and neither approach is really "good".

human-writes-code 2026-10-22 23:13 ♥ 1

@thanatosisanoob Thank you for checking out the game and all your feedback! Interestingly, I experimented with controls relative to the bot, to the room and to the camera. For me, the camera-relative controls worked better, but I think everyone's brain is different in this regard. Switching perspectives arbitrarily is the root problem and I don't know if any control solution is really going to fix that.

As for your other suggestions, they're great ideas! I don't know if I'll do a post-jam version (I have to admit that the theme didn't inspire me at the time and now its over I've thought of dozens of better ideas 😆 ), but if I do, I'll @ you!

human-writes-code 2026-10-22 23:15 ♥ 0

@stefan-b Thanks for checking it out. Yeah, the camera angles look cool but they seem to anger people 😆

wheelsx 2026-10-22 23:42 ♥ 0

@thanatosisanoob > Some things I think would fix it would either make movement based off of the robots orientation (W is forward in robots direction and A and D just change the direction)

Oh god no, that's Resident Evil's other fatal flaw

@human-writes-code I think the solution that alienates the fewest players is to either adopt Super Mario 64's camera system, which was a little clunky in it's own way but vastly superior (and it's still era appropriate), or use modern 3D platformer design principles. Both of these camera systems would be less polarizing and more accessible, and the difficulty can be controlled by the actual game design and not camera weirdness.

thanatosisanoob 2026-10-23 02:12 ♥ 0

@wheelsx @human-writes-code oh actually ok. I just thought of it but if it doesn't work ok. maybe making camera change more gradual? idk.

mikropiru 2026-10-23 08:52 ♥ 1

Nice entry! My main gripes were the same issues already mentioned here already, i.e. the browser going on its knees under the 3D load, and the suddenly switching camera angles and the controls, or most likely their combination. OTOH the switching angles felt like a crucial part of the experience, so I hope whatever approach you may take to the controls in a post-jam build will keep those in some way.

All in all, I think you got a lot done in such a short time, with the different enemy types and level design etc.!

tinykidtoo 2026-10-23 17:17 ♥ 1

I love the groovy bass line. Feels right for a stealth mission. I got stuck on the gap where it says definitely no old tech this way. I liked the stealth it made for some tight moments of trying to just get out of the way of a light or laser.

@tinykidtoo You were SO close to finishing! Thanks for playing!
