Cool little game. Especially once you start understanding how it works. I did get overwhelmed pretty quickly though. The gradual introduction of the various items is pretty cool.

I keep throwing the tools when I try to use them ;-; Very Challenging!
Interesting game. I don't really understand what the icons on the right mean. I like how the farmer just yeets a sickle when he finishes using it. 10/10 wouldn't be around him. Great work.
A good game, I like its cute Graphics. But I have no chance to play it because of my slow WIFI
Cute game! The visuals and music give the game a charming vibe, and I like the hectic scramble to find the right tools in time. I will say picking up the correct tool when multiple tools were overlapping could get annoying, even if imprecision is what you're going for. But, overall, a wacky and fun game. Nice work!
@jackypark9852 OSHAs are just suggestions on our farm! The icons on the right are the next seeds in your seed bag. You can't plant a seed if the bag is currently empty, and you might choose to plant seeds in different plots, especially apples when you get them later in the game.
Cute AND brutal!
Small but delicate game! Enjoyed your low-poly art. But game needs time to be familiar with, you can try a varied cold-time for each tool and short it when points grow!
Looks great, I'd have set interact buttons to something like Space and E to allow playing with just one hand on keyboard.
I can't open the game
@yikatong what seems to be the issue? I just checked our game on [our Itch page](https://fuseinabowl.itch.io/ludum-dare-52) and it's working fine for me. What does it look like on your end?

Cute Game! I like the low poly graphic and the harvest of my plants! It's a little bit difficult for me (I can only manage to plant one at a time, and I didn't really understand the bar at the right of the screen, I just keep dying :X ), but it's still good.
Cool minimalistic game! I really liked your design decision that all the items are on the floor and not buried somewhere in the UI window. One thing I found a bit frustrating was the size of colliders on objects - it was sometimes hard to grab the object I wanted - just my lil' feedback :p Good job overall!
Interesting control layout but fun nevertheless! Was a bit hard to pick up the tool I wanted at times but having them littering the ground is a refreshing idea.
Nice game, overall completed and solid. I like how the game make player panic. Somehow I relate this to overcooked, can further imagine a good gameplay if player have to deliver target crop to target buyer. Anyway well done!
Fun game and super polished. It all felt very tactile with the graphical flourishes and the SFX.
I'm envious of your screenshots, because I never came close to doing that well. Managed to harvest some corn but that's as far as I got, and I did try for a while.
Some things which IMO would have helped: - Have mouse controls as well. Sometimes I'd fail (or just get confused) pressing the wrong j/k key, or not really sure which direction I needed to face. - Have the tool colliders be larger so that they can't overlap with each other. It would help with the problem where they'd overlap for me and it'd be hard to pick up the right one. - Be less difficult especially at the start?
Stress is right. So many times did I pick up the wrong tool, or forget that I had three seeds piled up, or panic completely and forget which key to press, throwing my watering can across the screen.
My highest score was 895. It got really intense when I had two trees up blocking my farming spaces and hiding tools behind it. But I liked the different plants having slightly different (but still intuitive) farming processes.
A couple minor nitpicks: There were a few times when I watered a crop *just* in time...for the sound effect to play, and then I lost a life anyway. Also, standing directly on top of a tool sometimes doesn't let you pick it up, resulting in me panicking and trying to quickly change directions to pick it up and then I just spasm back and forth never being quite far enough to the side to grab it.
I also had a lot of situations where I tried to pick up one tool but picked up a different one instead. I determined that could be solved (in theory) by better organizing my tools. Though in practice, I sometimes just had to chuck a tool into the pile to grab another tool in time.
I really had fun with this one! It's balanced well so that it doesn't build difficulty too quickly or too slowly, and really challenges you near the end!
@shaunyeap yes, Overcooked and PlateUp! were our main inspirations! We started out with customers in our concept as you described but we scoped it out so we could spend more time polishing. Thanks!
@benk Thanks for your feedback - I think your third point about being less difficult is most critical. I balanced the seeds and timings so that you'd get to the fun stress as soon as possible while trying to keep it approachable, but most people (including IRL friends) have mentioned the difficulty. I will make an effort to balance the difficulty more in future!
@zungryware wow that's the highest score I've seen outside of the devs! I'm glad the trees were a nuisance, they're there to increase the difficulty in a more interesting way than just reducing the timers (although we do that too later).
I'll make sure the responses to player actions are different for successful and unsuccessful player actions in our future games, that sounds frustrating.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Most people have said it's on the difficult side, you must be adept at games!
fun idea!
This is almost like a top down version of my game, albeit mine ended up way less hectic and nowhere near as fun :D
Very neat. Gameplay feels rewarding and solid even when things get hectic, admittedly sometimes it can be hard to pick up the right tool but that also feels like part of the game to manage them :D. I like the graphics and how the game looks overall.
The start "tutorial" (if you could call it that) where the tools drop one by one and you get the idea of when and how they're used is such a good idea.
Awesome work!
Wow, insane. At least on controller :) I like the graphics, however since you used 3rd party assets, not sure how to judge that exactly. A very solid entry still!
@pcmaster thanks! Most assets were made during the jam. The crops came from Kenney. Everything else was completely ours: world, tools, soil patches, weeds, outro scene, player, particle effects, all animations (including the plant animations)
@fuse-in-a-bowl gotcha, thanks for the reply and for the game itself.
Very challenging! Starting a run doesn't seem to work for me, when I put it into fullscreen before starting a round. When kept small it works just fine!
Love the introduction with the falling tools!
@youngartifact thanks, didn't know about that one. I'll make sure we have a look at it and don't make the same mistake again
Simple art style works really well you guys nailed that perfectly and chaotic moments were great as well. Only thing that could be improved was player controller and only being able to move in 8 directions. It could be more fluid if there was some momentum and smooth direction of 360. Fun game overall!
Really good game! I do wish that maybe the difficulty scaled a bit better or more slowly. I think that introducing the tools more slowly would have helped and also helped make the clutter more manageable with knowing where you put down what tool.
