The intro is so good! Really well polished game and the music is quality. One piece of feedback is that when I died I had to wait through the intro sequence again, when I really wanted to get back in the action.

Wow this was a really nice submission! Game fitted the theme really well. Artwork was amazing (Frogs were really cute). and the music has got to be the best I've heard in a submission so far!
Did have one small bug where the text ribbit got stuck on the screen but refreshing the game fixed that.

Very very cool ! All 3 spells are pretty nice and well implemented! The music is great (despite the bug making it overlap when you lose)! I just didn't understand how to win against the boss. Great submission, keep up :)
@ilinx Oh, crap! Sorry about that music bug. You win the boss by dropping the stones on it, takes six hits. :)
Really liked the dynamics of the trampoline summon =D
In the instructions the X looked like an H for me, took me a bit to figure out.
Cool art, very good music, it is a completed mini game, bravo! At the boss fight, I stuck under my trampoline and watched the boss kill me :)
It took me a while to defeat the boss, but I did it!
Very nice take on the theme, it's nice to see summoning helpers instead of creatures!
The game looks very polished other than some bug here and there. The music is awesome and perfectly fits, the visuals and animations are amazing!
I wish there was more puzzles through the levels, taking advantage of the 3 different spells. Also, it's a bit sad that the third one makes the first one useless.

@rolly Thanks for the lengthy feedback! Yeah, the third spell is more like an upgrade to the first one - perhaps if there were more levels before acquiring the third spell the first one could have more uses. Welp, that's all I could do in the time frame. :sweat_smile:
Love the art for the characters! And what you did with the summoning was great. Intro was too long imo and I didn't find the ability to skip it. But I'm glad I played the game since I enjoyed the abilities.
The music was amazing. Movement felt great. It was fun and pretty. Bonus points for FROGS. 🐸🐸

Excellent game. The summon mechanics were easy to understand and I particularly liked the way they worked for the boss fight. Music and art also great.
Good game, the only thing I didn't like was that you have to watch the opening cutscene every time you die, there was also a bug that kept appearing on the screen.Captura.PNG

What a banger, very cool game! That boss was actually spicy, I had to try multiple times! You nailed it! My only feedback would be that the sections where you traverse stretches of water (that's water... right?) with the slab spell kinda break the pace of the game.
SO GOOD!!! love this game so much,I seem like dont the the third ability but I reach the boss fight,is that right,jump and throw stone does hurt the boss,but it is so hard
@olddog You can use the gravity swap to walk on the ceiling and drop stones on the boss. :)
Good lord this is adorable. Fantasic compo entry! Cute art, solid puzzles and mechanics, nailed the theme, and banger music to boot. Be proud of this one!
Fun game, I only wish the stones were pushable, as I kept losing due to summoning a stone just barely on top of the one I was standing on while traversing the poison :upside_down:

Extremely solid game, and the music is especially good. Really the only nitpicks I'd have is that the tileset is a little bland and undecorated, and ability 3 isn't really on theme, but everything else was great

I loved the audio in this game good job. I felt like this game would have been even more fun with a controller or mouse left click to summon items at least. x was hard for me to hit while trying to move and jump. Overall a very cool entry and I had fun, thanks!

I remember last time, I enjoyed the inventive nature of your game Yarn, and followed to be notified next Jam with a new game. And wow, I am sure happy I did! To be honest, I really enjoy platformer-type games, and this one was so different, but I feel like this time the feeling of gameplay and movement was more enjoyable! I liked the dynamic of trampoline so much, and then later when I got anti-gravity I was like +o+

It is not too easy (for me), and I was relieved to find that starting over puts me at the start of the level, and not the whole game.
In terms of spells, I found the rock one, being used for crossing lava, a bit too tedious and repetitive pretty quick. Yes, it gives a bit of tension when you cross, especially if you are impatient and jump instead of simply walking further like a normal person (I am impatient), but when I need to re-do the level, that's the first thing that makes me feel like "no..." - not the hard parts, but realization that I need to place these damn rocks one by one again :'D
I completely forgot to say how great the art is. It is totally my jam, the frog in a wizard hat is ADORABLE, the items and light and animation - everything is great. Including the blocks surrounding you, and the background - just really good, cohesive and polished.

I've been continuing working on this game, and chances are I'll make it a full game. I'm scrapping the stone spell (at least for the most part; perhaps I'll leave it as a boss fight mechanic as it seems quite fun), and overall revamping the spells and such. I've already introduced stairs, coyote time, bridges... Lots of stuff coming for the full game. :)
Very nice. The idea is simple, but well developed. I would have made the selection of spells simpler and more immediate, but it's purely personal taste to make the games more action-packed. However, the spells are interesting and handled well. Great game!
I felt so smart when I figured out how to beat the final boss! Really fun engine. Summoning blocks to cross the fluid pits was a little cumbersome but other than that no notes. Great audio, great gameplay, fun energy, nice atmosphere. Feels pretty polished for a compo game especially!
I was not expecting a mini metroidvania! This game is really fun, and the spells are great. I loved the few times I saw an impassable obstacle (eg. ledge too high), then found a spell to overcome it (eg. summon trampoline). Then, when I got flip gravity it felt great because the lava pools and slimes that used to be tricky with stones and jumping are now easy. The spiky tunnel was a great final platforming challenge before the boss. I also enjoyed the combination of spells used in the fight, it's just sad the trampoline didn't get a go :( I just wish the spells were easier to cast. Instead of zipping around the boss room flipping gravity and summoning rocks and dancing around the boss, I was running around the ceiling dropping blocks when the boss stopped and before he fired. Perhaps Z, X, and C for each spell would have been easier. Other than that, great game!

A fun little game, the music was good but I think I perceived it as being a bit chaotic in terms of structure and music theory. The pixel-perfect graphics were cool except for the light gradients and the text, which weren't pixel-perfect. :cry: The player controls were very comfy. My only grievance was the fact that stone slabs got stuck in the narrow passages with deadly water. And the boss fight was an interesting combination of reverse gravity and stone slab falling but I don't understand why it didn't work for killing slimes or if I am missing something. Good job!
Cute game, I really enjoyed the music, and one of the reasons I came here to play it was because I saw your post asking if people might be interested in how you made the music.
I might be one of those people, as music is probably my weakest skill-set in the game dev space, at least currently :slight_smile:
Nice graphics, had some summoning, however I did manage to die several times due to the slabs getting stuck when I was near the water as well. Maybe make them able to be pushed by the player so if I place them slightly off where they need to be I can push them out of the way? Just an idea.

This feels quite, quite polished! The smoothness of the movement is sweet. As others have put it, the make-a-bridge-of-stones can halt that feeling of smoothness a bit, but overall, that's a great entry! Art, music and cutscenes fit perfectly.
The fact that there is a boss fight is also amazing. Good job!
