Awesome game !
I love the navigation system! Nice mood too
Was fun. The grab is a bit unresponsive unfortunately.
@seriar I can assure you it is also hard on Android :) Actually, you have to swipe in the green arrow window, otherwise it gets invalidated and destroys itself. We tried to balance this towards the end of our weekend, it definitely needs some work.
Bahahaha, what a fun concept! Any game that make me smile and laugh out loud is a win! Awesome game!
Pretty good! there's even under-steer! I wish there was over-steer too as delivering tofu without getting sideways feels somehow wrong. Good job!
At the beginning, I was like "there's no way there is a cauldron inside that package", but turns out it's a tiny cauldron!
I really like the horror cuteness, awesome job!
Waw, what a lesson in game design. I feel humbled. The way the game starts without any menu and teaches you the mechanics through clever level design and exposition. Everything feels amazing to control, and the amount of levels! I love games that exploit simple mechanics to the maximum so that you feel that no corners were cut and everything falls into place. This game shows a great level of mastery of your craft.
What a banger!
I really like the concept, especially as a space nerd. The fact that you can actually use gravity to catapult yourself to other planets with minimal fuel usage is awesome! One bit of feedback: I feel that the camera doesn't allow you to plan your route accordingly. Maybe I'm not playing the game the way it was intended, but with the speeds you can achieve, you can very easily catapult yourself on a planet. I wish you could zoom out to try and aim for your destination's orbit.
Awesome game!
@bmanstudio You madlads actually updated the build! I much prefer the view with the camera fully zoomed out, I noticed a drastic decrease in my crashes, and I think the game is even more enjoyable now!
Looks really polished! I'm not very good at platformers, but some jumps feel very tight. I love the gameboy art.
Clever! We thought of that interpretation, but we couldn't find a way to pull it off. You did it though, and it's pretty well polished. Great job!
Props on the polish and level design!
Now that's my kind of game! I didn't finish the run yet, but I'd like to come back to it and see the end of it. It's really well polished too! The only issue I've encountered is that I managed to roll the truck next to a pillar, blocking the box from falling off and effectively soft locking myself. Nothing a quick restart fixes.
Amazing job!
I realize that this is not finished, but just so you know it didn't work on Firefox. We had issues as well, we resolved them by checking the embedding guide https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/.
Looks good! I like the vibe!
I like the concept. The game controls very intuitively and feels tactile! The pacing is a bit off though.
This is quite experimental.
I like the art, and it was well written!
What a banger, very cool game! That boss was actually spicy, I had to try multiple times! You nailed it! My only feedback would be that the sections where you traverse stretches of water (that's water... right?) with the slab spell kinda break the pace of the game.
Really cool game! and nice take on the theme. As I understand, you guys are maintainers on excaliburjs, it looks like a really great project :)
The art style is crazy good! I couldn't progress past the second spawn though :(
Amazing! Original and clever. I remember playing your previous submissions, and it's always a treat. You have a knack for finding a cool idea and exploiting it to the max! I wonder if the edge bump is bug turned into a game mechanic :D
Really cool game! I know for a fact that gesture recognition is not trivial, and this works really well.
I didn't find the summoner :( a little arrow pointing to the summoner after a timer would have been nice. I really liked the art and the plot though, super original and well polished.
Thank you all for your kind comments :)
@sinoftheta & @tomknocker44 I like seeing both sides of the coin haha. There's a bit of rng involved depending what spawns you get early. Not all monsters have the same damage numbers. The fire monsters particularly deal more damage than anyone else, so if you can get your hands on a few of them early on, you can really snowball. I do agree that the range needs more work.
@manabreak nah I've been working on my engine on and off for a few months. This is the first jam I'm doing with it and the first actual game with a start and an end. I also did not have sprite rendering before the jam started. I was expecting to make a 3d game at first.
@deadinfinity That is very good feedback, thank you. I agree that the main mechanic of the game isn't refined enough. After the jam I found a bug in my ECS implementation that caused some entities to not always tick. The effect of that bug meant that some entities would go invisible and suddenly appear near you. This combined with the punitive attack ranges and lack of animation make it difficult to understand what does damage to you.
I have fixed this bug and will continue working on my engine. Hopefully I can do better next time :)
I love this, so much unrealized potential though! This is a really cool and original idea.
Red pandas and drugs. A lot of drugs
Baahahahaahahahahahahahaaha, what a banger!
I love games that have a cool core mechanic and go nuts with it. The trick shot potential is insane. The only thing that I thought was frustrating was that the little cone widget didn't really help with aiming. It's something I could get used to if I played more though.
Neat little game! The animations and sound effects make the experience feel polished. I was able to find two tips to help push further: - make sure your cursor is as far as your character as possible as the speed of the fireballs are based on the distance cursor to character - try to focus "out of sync" enemies as those are the ones catching you off guard when you're already dodging fireballs
The only issue I've noticed is that the movement input seem to get stuck sometimes, making my character go further than I intended.
This was crazy good! The two things I liked the most - the MC's run animation, he's like a crazy magician dude summoning the homies like crazy - the elemental combination. When the game ramps up it's super fun!
I like to go into games blind so I always read the description after playing. At first I was thinking that it was a cute little game about cleaning up your park. Then the rival mob came in and there was blood everywhere D:
Very cool game!
Everything being physics based was a risky choice but you pulled it off! Very good fun. I would die for that cat btw.
I legit couldn't stop smiling. Cute, funny, and with a banger ending.
Monkey island ain't got nothing on this game!
Very cool game, I didn't know about pico-8 I'm exited to check it out. My one piece of feedback is that using the mouse to select the column is a bit jarring because the pointer's resolution doesn't match your actual mouse's. I think I would have preferred to use the arrow keys. I love the mood and the cute pixel art though!
Pretty cool game. There's a an impressive amount of polish!
