Wow! This was awesome! Probably played for 2 hours straight. Incredibly addicting, you should definitely think about releasing a full game.

@ActionRemix Sorry to hear, what browser are you using? The music track is pretty low too, can you hear if you turn up your volume?
I really enjoyed this! I like the idea of changing the game by modifying the variables "beneath the surface". Definitely appreciated the sense of humor, got a few laughs out of me. It's like the Stanley Parable of Ludum Dare!
@JustinMullin Actually we recorded all of the sound effects and music off of an acoustic guitar believe it or not :)
I really like this idea, definitely caused some finger cramping :) I feel this could be an interesting mobile experience since tapping (clicking) is a primary method of interaction. Well done!
Really solid art and audio. Controls felt good. Thoroughly enjoyed the playing as "twump" :)
This is excellent, I love the art style. The added mechanic of rushing to click and add items while trying to stay stealthy is very fun. Bravo!
This reminds me a lot of "Spacewar!" a classic game built for the oscilloscope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacewar! on a very old-school pdp-1
I like that the cursor was hidden from me so it didn't block the game, but when I hit the down key on my keyboard it scrolls the game off the screen while playing in the web player, fullscreen seems to address the issue. I really like that game engines like Unreal are adding WebGL/Canvas web player support across the board!
I like the squishy puzzle mechanic, I feel like this has a lot of potential for some really interesting puzzle designs. It would be interesting to add a few more state changes, or maybe some enemy microbes in the puzzles :)
Welcome to Jurassic Ludum Dare!
This was really fun, with some more polish I feel like this could be a really great mobile game... tap left on the screen to go left, and right to go right. I can see myselft getting addicted to this type of game.
I definitely agree, the music was A+ and really brought a nice arcade feel to the game.
I would have liked to be allowed to make a few mistakes as well, instead of the planet exploding on one asteroid.
Power-ups, or different things falling to the planet feel like a natural extension to add next.
Great game, has a lot of potential!
I really enjoyed this, I love the "small world" setting in the book, the voice over, and the low-poly art was really well done!
The kraken was great, I got mjolnir just in time to avoid it with the spacebar. This definitely has a lot of potential for something more after LD!
Strong work! This was a really great game. I got a really cool lo-fi tron vibe.
I liked that before the game started you could get a feel for how the ship and camera move.
Definitely challenging, I got the hang of how to avoid enemy fire around wave two.
If you think about adding twin stick controller support, the left stick could control the ship position, and the right could move the reticle for lock-on to help avoid enemy fire. Might remove some of the challenge, but could be fun to try.
A+ I'd like to see this in an arcade as well!
This is a neat idea, I like the interesting take on path finding. I discovered that I could chain groups together for maximum transfer which was cool.
I really like the Yoshi Island style mechanic, this felt really well done. I'll echo the comment about the controls and animations, everything was super polished.
This is a gem, I had a lot of fun with this text based game, the random items you can receive really got a chuckle out of me.
I really enjoyed the music, really brought me into the mood of the gardener. It felt like I developed a rhythm with some of the levels, I felt somewhat trance like. This is very fun! The skulls floating in the water was a nice touch.
One small tweak I'd suggest is to make the water meter more prominent, it took me a moment to notice it.
Nice and chill experience, got to listen to some tunes and dig up stuff. The shadows of UFO's and dinosaurs was a nice touch.
The snake in a boot made me laugh, the enemies were very well done. The cactus was a very challenging enemy, I went with the flame thrower for dispatching that one. Shooting the weapons feels really good, the sounds and the visuals are great.
Only nits were it wasn't easy to distinguish which weapon you have active. The mouse wheel control is a little twitchy and hard to land on a specific weapon, but still a cool way to switch out weapons in this style of game.
I really like the atmosphere this game brings when diving deep, the sounds were really well done for the deep, definitely gave me the feeling I was in a sub.
I expected some kraken or other sea monster to be lurking down there for me.
This is great! I love this semi-realtime micro-tactics idea, really cool. You should keep going with this. I really wanted to have key bindings to quickly select moves/attacks when able. The art gave me strong zelda vibes :)
The sound effects are really excellent, pumped to do some digging.
A fun experience this brings me back, very win xp! I like the youtube rabbit hole take on the theme, a very cool idea. The taunts from your rival are pretty good, as well as the available retorts :)
I love sand games, this was great, it got me addicted. The audio track really complimented the cavern aesthetic.
A super solid experience, I feel like you could take this to mobile without too much effort. I would pay you money for a game like this. There are so many cool venues you could go too, like undiggable terrain, monsters, weather, etc.
I need a link to that track haha! I just watched Dune so this really had me giggling.
I laughed when I turned into a crab!
I had a good time with this, reminds me of the table top game Bananagrams. It felt really good to score points, especially when I accidently spelled another word! Lots of polish and juice. Just jamming to the music and spelling words.
I feel like the random obscure definitions are a feature not a bug, they add a lot of humor to the game (and I think I accidentally learned things )
I definitely want this on my mobile!
I was picking up some positive sea shanty vibes from the music, really put me in the mood to avoid the tax person. I managed to find a strategy I was happy with to avoid the HMRC by tossing documents slightly backwards left or right.
I enjoyed the experience, clever take on the "death and taxes" inevitability as well!
This was a beautiful game, a real unique take on the theme that I enjoyed. I've always wanted to be a dungeon boss! I had a huge grin the entire time, bravo.
I liked the quick switching to fix systems, gave me a warioware mad dash feel which was fun. I was also feeling a strong FTL vibe from the text descriptions that I enjoyed.
A ship visualization would be really humorous to add if you continue working on the game, it'd be fun to see random events impact the ships systems and to see how the ship responded to those (and the repairs).
I think having the hotkeys spaced out would be less crowded for my hands.
Overall I enjoyed the game!
This was a ton of fun! I loved the graphic novel cut screens and the net-hack-bullet-time, that was super clever.
Y'all should definitely make this a commercial game.
Really solid game, very polished. It definitely got frantic quickly (in a good way).
I know it's already been said, but perhaps making the connected nodes even darker or more obviously complete would help visually know that to focus on.
I definitely enjoyed the bit of solitaire. It took me a bit to develop a strategy for building my tableaus. I didn't realize I could cross suits in the foundation until I tried, I think without that the game would have been much more challenging.
One nice quality of life feature might be to have the card fly to next valid foundation spot when clicked in the tableau (I could be mistaken and that breaks things).
I think a touch of audio and some light sound effects would have added a lot to the experience.
Honestly I want more card games in future LDs this was fun!
I really enjoyed the art and music, they were superb. I especially liked the effect of lights flying past the cars. This was a very clever take on the theme, and I don't think I've seen a turn based racing game before! Definitely an idea I'd like to see explored more!
It did take me a moment to figure out which car was mine based on the title colors. It also wasn't super clear what I could or couldn't click on in the hud. I enjoyed this entry thoroughly!
Definitely had me trying to remember the color wheel frantically while playing! I was reminded of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, it'd be cool to incorporate a similar chain reaction/combo to this.
This was awesome, I had a lot of fun spawning LOTS of minions to wreak havoc! Honestly you should explore this more because I think you've got a fun (reverse) swarm survival on your hands.
@the4thcircle Totally! We were thinking about incorporating different math operations some how!
@jackofcups Thanks for the kind words! We're really pleased with how it turned out!
@nox282 We are the maintainers! Thanks for the kind words !
@guilherme-tartari We have a post jam version https://excaliburjs.com/sum-monsters/ look there for more levels soon. I should haves some done today or tomorrow.
@jerem-watts Thanks again for playing!
Very aesthetically pleasing, loved the graphics and audio. I was getting classic mega man vibes.
I had a hard time at the vertical platforming section, but could just be my lack of skill.
Enjoyed the mechanic thoroughly! Please make more!
SO good, I love the method of summoning units an additional challenge while dodging. It took me a moment to realize I could fall off the platform haha. I've played this a TON. High praise from me.
This is extremely well done! I was sucked in, I kept playing and playing trying to build the best money making machine possible.
PLEASE release this game!
Great puzzler! Hilarious title! I'm hooked!
Music was great too!
Wooo, had a ton of fun with this! This needs to be a mobile game! No notes, really fun!
Wow killed it with the art! Absolutely atmospheric vibes! I loved the randomly generated pet names, so fun, my favorite was "Noodle".
It wasn't clear to me at first how to incorporate the items into the resurrection, but after that I was able to battle pretty effective after some experimentation. I'm kind of a big fan of auto-battlers.
You should definitely release this game!
WOW I'm constantly impressed by what you make! The graphics are so polished, I wish I had those art skills! I love the sound/music as well. I'm a fan of the tower defense mechanic, play cards to defend, collect bones, play more cards!
Extremely well done! I was addicted!
Had a blast breaking stuff, love the "ghost simulator".
I seem to fall through the floor right at the jump portion on the web build :(
I had fun got to 11 demons, really reminded me of a wario-ware style game. I got pretty good at drawing by the end.
I loved the very creative demonic constellations, difficulty curve felt about right. It'd be nice to have a little more variety in tasks, but other than that very fun!
This was great, I love the art, parallax, and the title alliteration. The music was super chill, but I was pleasantly surprised when it picked up when things got difficult. The sound effects were also great. Honestly you probably have something here you go further with, more woodland creatures, diverting river flows, etc. I'd love to see more!
The fish buoyancy added an extra challenge that I liked.
Love the twist on the classic "war" card game. I'd never thought of doing a deck building variety on that! I really enjoyed this! Totally could make a mobile game for this!!!
I think a few more varieties in the mini-games would also help.
I did like the ramp, numbers go up makes me feel good!
It definitely warped my brain to get the rock/paper/scissors going. I found that I can mash the spawn and do lots of damage if there isn't an enemy spawn coming, although that strategy doesn't work on the hardest mode haha.
I'm getting some DDR vibes with things flowing down the screen. Pretty fun concept!
Fun! Bullet hell meets tower defense! I'm down!
This was great, I like that you can modulate the waves of enemies by stocking the fridge with different items. I love the skull enemy effects, I want more of those types of enemies. Controls felt pretty good too.
Also I thought it was funny that skulls drop pie, and rats drop eggplants!
Art is fantastic, I love the character animation, especially that sword swing!
I think the goal sank into a wall for me on the first level so couldn't complete it.
I had a lot of fun blasting enemies. Discovered I could ricochet off the level to get those hard to reach. Also the story at the beginning was awesome great art! I like the concept of jump to different islands in space, gives me of a mario galaxy vibe.
One of the most creative takes on the theme so far! Awesome stuff!
I'm addicted to this genre, very challenging take though! I love the additional challenge of using both hands to dodge and summon units!
Cool idea for a couch co-op, lots of fun! I love the art/music. You should definitely publish a post-jam version, I could see this being really fun with friends on a console/pc with game pads!!
I had a little trouble with the platforming before I go the hang of it (easy to get stuck on an edge), that could maybe be tweaked?
Cool idea, I definitely felt the difficulty ramp a little hard and got to a puzzle I couldn't solve.
End screen is mega cute! I loved the platforming chain grab mechanic and the summoning sound effect!
Only feedback is maybe the cooldown between the chain pull could be a little shorter?
You definitely leaned into the vibe, also the VO was great, and the music was pretty great.
Isometric is best-o-metric, loved the level design and aesthetic.
The timing was a little tough to get right, but I did like the spell/damage mechanic.
This has some legs I think, I'd love to see a post jam version! More enemy varieties, more spells, super cool idea.
Very fun take, I like that you need to platform to ingredients. I got really good at that candle room. The platforming controls were very well done (definitely needed the spacebar myself). As an expansion idea it'd be need of the resource rooms changed up for an additional challenge over time.
I had a lot of fun, snowball mechanics are always fun!
I like the idea, our game had a similar take on the theme! It was a little difficult to play solo. I also echo the neat heart powerup mechanic-very cool idea. It'd be interesting to explore more mechanics that tie the two halves together, which definitely something that we were thinking of doing in our game post-jam.
Enjoyed this game, I like the idea a lot. One needs to measure shooting, with avoiding falls.
This kind of reminds me of those on-the-rails shooters like Time Crisis, except with skateboarding. It'd be interesting to look at other obstacles other than jumps, maybe barrels, or airborne projectiles.
This has a ton of potential!
