Great game! A clever concept for the theme, and very well executed. Lots of "Noooo, don't talk to me!" The one downside is probably that the difficulty varies drastically based on where the groceries spawn: top right is easy, by the door is hard.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some tomato and chips stew to make....
This was a really fun game! I liked the little touches like a changing recipe and player sprite: it made the game feel more fun to replay, which I wanted to do until I won.

So cute! Every day problems can make good games when well realized.

This game is hilarious! You chose the right music for your theme, and your sprites are appropriately detailed and cute. I wished I could move faster sometimes while his lung lasted, but not being able to run away made it more suspenseful.

Hilarious take on the theme! The graphics and music really sets the tone of the game. The game can be quite challenging, depending on the location of the items, and the "customers keep arriving" mechanic works really well for gradually ramping up the challenge. At least they finish shopping eventually.
I also loved the small details - the random appearance of the shoppers, that they actually have different "identities" if they run into you, and of course the fact that in the end, the cashier is as chatty as the rest of them. The main character world probably have preferred a self-serve checkout :-D
An entertaining game!
> Carrots on the floor. > The shoppers saw me coming! > Everlasting chat...

Haha I love how avoid smalltak is a objective, right up my alley. Fun game that was a blast of freshness after playing 100 "run around a small planet" takes on the theme.
I love the title and concept of the game. I made it through after my 4th try. Simple, but appropriate graphics. Overall a short, but well polished game.

Cute graphics, nice little game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpLa_G-bsto
I like the grapics of the game, the soundtrack and the general idea. I have some comments about the implementation. I'm not sure if it was only me but found it very hard, I think that the main issue with the difficulty is not the difficulty itself but having to restart the whole game and loading everytime you lose is a bit frustrating. Besides that, the concept is nice, good job!

So it was a nice game. The first thing that stuck out to me was:
-the idea (nice fun little game) -the replay ability -the music -the graphics
So the replay ability itself was a little strange, because it was harder than it should have been to reload after you lose, but otherwise it was a great game!

Nice idea for a game, It's little and simple. I like that the chats change everytime and that you always change character. The music and the Sfx were really on point(!). The only thing I really disliked was that you have to reload the game everytime you wanted to play. Nice job!

I played through 3 times, finally winning on the last try. Right now the game is quite short, but I had quite a bit of fun nonetheless! The fact that people would walk towards you if they have line-of-sight made for lots of interesting situations, since you had to quickly find the nearest corner to turn around, all while trying to keep track of everyone. There was also a surprising amount of strategy: I found myself constantly trying to plan which item to get and what routes to take to avoid getting caught. I loved the amount of detail you put into this, like the ending dialogue, the randomly generated items and recipes, and the music.
One suggestion: indicate the other shoppers' lines of sights somehow. Sometimes I found it unclear whether someone was going to chase me since I wasn't sure where exactly they were looking, which wasn't a good feeling.
Overall, I had a lot of fun and also laughed quite a bit; I can only wish there was more. Nice work!
Cool ... actually i remember creating a game with a similar theme before (you had to manage your shop but must avoid customers). Plays somehow along the lines of pacman ... and yeah, the difficulty depends entirely on the rng :D. without that however it would've been much too easy in the jam scope so i don't mind it being random.
Fun game!
This is a great take on the theme, well done! My winning strategy is to grab the items near the doors before too many people arrive.

What a great thematic twist on a classic game type. Game had a good feel to it, and I like the touch of there being different items and a different player each time the game was played. The music was a pretty great choice too. I would love to see you expand upon this idea.
If you like, please take a look at the game me and my team made. You can find a link to it on my profile

What a coincidence, we made the exact same concept! Yours is less buggy though
Fun to see the same idea with different implementation.
Personally I would've liked to have some sort of life system so getting caught is more forgiving. With that you could also increase difficulty by adding more shoppers.

Very fun - super similar to another game in LD38! I like that the player character changes, I also like that you can control your guy diagonally. Nicely done!
